The refi process started out extremely well Banker, Kevin Cesear, is a real pro and worked out the best deal possible given my situation He is an excellent listener, eager to help, explains and answers any and all questions He gets an A+++ for his role
Dan Pesato picked up where Kevin left off and did good work for the first few weeks Past that point, the process got bogged down While I had submitted all of the asked-for info by the end of January, I was being asked for the same info again in February and needed to call Dan's attention to it Over the next week weeks, it seemed to me that the "team" had dropped the ball in three or four instances When the lock date (2/25) for the interest and fees was approaching, I called Kevin back to get help w/what was going on He got the time extended and was reassuring
Subsequently, I was being asked to provide information that had already been submitted in January At one point, a "team" member indicated that if I did not show that I had $in cash to cover the cost of one outstanding payment agreement, I would not meet the debt/income ratio required to obtain the refiIf I had $in cash, I would not be in the position of needing to give up a 2.5% mortgage w/o points or down payment, to get the refi and needed cash for renovations This occurred at the beginning of March This instance occurred on a day when Dan's voice mail message indicated that he was not in the office, so I once again, bothered Kevinto find out if this was actually the situation since he had already, on day two of the process in early January, told me that I would qualify He was patient and reassuring, although it was not his problem or in his realm of obligations at that point
With the information Kevin provided after looking up my loan documents, I obtained the final piece to the puzzle and was informed that it was time for the closing date to be set I was first told that Jamal was in charge of this I, however, received a phone call from a female who, apparently, was part of the "team." She set the closing date for Friday, March This was not a convenient day for me but was told that this was the option I asked for the earliest appt b/c I was leaving for family business right afterwards I re-arranged my schedule to accommodate this Friday 9am appt, I then called by Jamal to set the closing date, day, timeWhen I told him that it had already been done, he indicated that that was not so, etcetc
So, Jamal and I went thru the closing process, info exchange, etconce again He indicated that I could have the closing on Thursday, a much more convenient arrangement for me, given the family travel plans
The notary who provided the closing services was excellent Not only was he well organized, his years of experience in the business of mortgages, etcallowed him to answer questions and clarify information for me while the papers were signed He deserves A+++ for his role
Bottom line, then, beginning and ending interactions and professionals were outstanding, the "team" in between left something to be desired
In all fairness to them, my situation was complicated B/c of cancer issues and other medical conditions since 2013, my credit rating suffered, I chose to work w/a debt consolidation firm rather than file personal bankruptcy, and have been working my way out of a financial hole for the past few years Thus, I am sure there was not the typically forms, responses, etcthat go along w/a refi Nonetheless, I provided every piece of data required and faxed each separately with a cover sheet that noted what was being sent in each fax I was hoping that separating the info would be helpful as it was processed into my loan account Apparently, no one really read through that info and it was simply accumulated in my file Thus, over time, I was being asked to supply the same info one month later
The Appraiser used submitted a report on the square footage of the house along with descriptions of number of bedrooms and fireplaces in the hiuseHe also falsely reported the outside a yard patio and failed to report an addition of a Sunroom to the residenceHis report was challenged and he refused to make the correctionsThis was not the doing of Quicken Loans , but the should never use him againWe are gong a formal complaint against him with the State of Georgia and the Revdex.com
I had a great experience with my refinanceEasy online process and questions answered promptlyCalled Mario on his cell numerous times and he always got back to me with answers and adviceI was out of the country when working on this and signed the papers days after returning home Would highly recommend
It was a pleasant experience refinancing my home mortgage with Quicken Loans It was quick and easy Everyone I talked to was pleasant and wonderful to work withWould definitely recommend Quicken Loans to anyone who needs their services

This would have been my third time using Quicken to refinance and they have serviced my home loan for years so I thought they were the obvious choice to go with againWas I WRONG! I was told I would have $3,in closing costs, which I felt was high but I was comfortable with them as I had been a customer for years so I decide to go forwardThe date came to close and I had over $8,in closing costsFor those that don't know "origination fees" are nothing more then money going into the lenders pocket and I had thousands added to my "origination fees" right before closingWhen I asked them about it, they did not even deny they were ripping me off, instead went on pitch about how they can "close this loan now, get me out of debt now, and you would have to what days to close with someone else, do you really want to start over again?" I could not believe what I was hearing and still don't see how this is legalThey would not honor what they told me would be my closing costs and in the end I ate the $for appraisal and went with another online company, who by the way was great, my closing costs total with appraisal was under $2,with NO "origination fee" and I got a rate of 1/2% lower then what quicken loans was going to give and it took weeksDo yourself a favor, stay away from quicken loansYou can do much better on rates and much better on closing costs, and their "customer service" is nothing more then fast talking scam artistsThe whole experience left me wondering how many people they scam everyday, totally disgraceful!
I have had my VA Loan with Quicken for the last few years I just completed a refinance them for a lower rate The process was exceptionally fast and the customer service was amazing Thank you all for the fast and reliable service That's why I stay with this great company
They pre-approved us quickly and I felt like I should go with them- paying a bit more for the big-name, #lender satisfaction rated company Their service did not pan out
Much of the communication was second and third hand - "what I was told was..." "what I am hearing is..." This made me feel like I could not trust those I was working with - that they were not being honest with me
The terms disclosures often did not match what I was told verbally - until the final disclosure I was often told "Just sign this, we need it, but it will get fixed." Never good in any deal as we all know, written trumps verbal
As I got more and more frustrated, I escalated, but it took days to get anyone else involved They need to understand making a customer wait when they are angry, just leads to more anger
After it was all said and done - I went with another lender I received a follow up call from Quicken to discuss what went wrong That person was apologetic and supportive Where were they during the process, or when I escalated?
I had a bad experience, yours may be better My advice - if you work with Quicken, engage at least one more lender early in the process (it will cost you an appraisal ~$500) - you may be pleasantly surprised what the other lender can do

days after QUICKEN LOANS received my insloss claim package containing 100% of the doc's requested I have no money with with to pay my contractors
March till April and counting my MORTGAGE COMPANy is the reason my roof can't be repairedALL info requested was sent, they require doc's not originally requested, they send ck's with wrong names they send cks without my name just slow roll and drag their feetNot once has QUICKEN LOANS contacted me to request doc's discuss my claim.not a call, text, email NOTHING
QUICKEN LOANS sits there earning interest on my insclaim while my roof needs repairthey are SHAMELESS
I am a disabled veteranThey charged me $before doing anything and kept dragging timeI almost became homeless because of their slow jobThey are so distractedThey need to stop charging $whateverthey should change their company turtle loanExtremely slow process once they get $Do not use this mortgage .I want to give zero star!!!!
