We do not buy or sell debt, certainly not illegally. If this account was in fact paid previously, the mistake would have... been made by the original creditor not our company. You were asked by our representative to provide documentation showing the account in question has been paid. Dear Mr. [redacted] , FMR has been contracted to collect on debt attached to your name. During your initial phone call to this office you refused to verify you were the correct party. Federal law does prohibit us from disclosing any details unless the correct party is verified; the representative was... simply following protocol. When you spoke to the second representative you did verify the information needed, and you were provided the details of the debt. You did dispute ever obtaining the debt your account was closed and returned that day. Documentation we are obligated to provide to you has been sent to the address we have on file and you have not received anymore phone calls from this office. Regards, Nick W.
