I am rejecting this response because: I just...
received a new call - exact same sales pitch - from a new company called "itechlive" which used to be Geek Support live. Total bs that they're operating as a new company now and calling cell phones. I do not accept this response. I will make a new complaint against itechlive but these people need to cut it out. It's a nuissance.
Sincerely,

BEWARE: I believe this company is a scam. They cold-called me today on my cell phone from a blocked number. The man started the call by telling me I had a problem with my network and my [redacted] computer was downloading viruses every time I turned it on. It was hard to understand him due to a thick accent that sounded Asian. (I didn't think anything of this until I started reading others' reviews -- sounds to me like this company, which claims it's based in the US, is not located here.) Then he said some gibberish that included some technical terms but I was fairly certain made no sense. I had to ask where this person was calling from. First he said something about [redacted], and I had trouble understanding him. Then when I asked again later, he told me "Geek Support Live." He told me he could walk me through steps on my computer so he could show me where the infections were on my computer. He told me to hold down the [redacted] button and "R" at the same time. I told him I have no [redacted] button because I do not have a [redacted] computer. He got flustered and seemed surprised and asked if I was sure. I told him it has been many years since we have had a PC in our house. Then he says well there is definitely a problem with a [redacted] computer on your network, but "you use the same IP address on your mac that you used on your old PC, right?" I told him I'm not sure how that's possible but he made up some gibberish and said that must be the problem. I asked him again to tell me what exactly is wrong with my computer and he said something similar to what he told me before - gibberish. He started getting exasperated with my questions and would reply "I already told you that." I asked him how he could possibly know that I have issues on my personal computer, and he said something that made no sense to me but used some technical computer-ish terms in order to sound like he knew what he was talking about. Then he said "you're in North Colorado, right?" I said "no" (because I'm not), and he asked me where I live. I refused to tell him. He asked me what internet browser I usually use, so I told him "several." Then he told me he can't walk me through the steps to fix my computer if I'm using a [redacted], so I will need to give him remote access to my mac so he can fix it for me. That's when I laughed and told him I would have to call him back. He gave me a call back number o[redacted] [redacted]. I looked them up online and found several websites discussing the "Geek Support Live [redacted] scam" and how they convince people to give them money for computer protection that never comes. Thank you Joseph B[redacted] for your help and your a very kind man.
Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:1) My name is not [redacted], and2) As my complaint stated, they called my CELL phone number, not my home number.3) My compaint also stated that I verified with [redacted] that, contrary to the caller's claim, this company has no contract with [redacted]. [redacted] does not look for or "trap" the identities of computers "throwing" viruses. Nor do they then call computer owners making such claims and offering services to deal with the viruses.
Sincerely,
