Review: Guzu.com specializes in purchasing electronics. I've "sold" them my iPhone over two months ago and still waiting on payment. The company has failed to reply to my multiple emails and as no phone number listed for the business.

They promised to pay $355 for my iPhone 5S 64GB (Black). The product was delivered on 10/**/14 and signed for by "[redacted]" but there was no payment issued to me by the business.

They scammed me and literally stole my property. Below are my order details provided by Guzu.com:

Quoted Payment Amount: $355.00

Sincerely,

I sent an IPhone 5c and 4s, both unlocked phones, to Guzu the first of January. On 1/**/15 Guzu notified me, via email, that they had received the phones and the 5c had been accepted. On 1/**/15 I received an email letting me know that the 4s iPhone had also been accepted. As of today, 2/**/16 , I have not received the promised payment of $105.00 for the phones. I sent an email on 1/**/16 asking about the hold up of payment and was told by Amanda that the check would be in the mail shortly.

Review: I sold my phone to Guzu Inc, They received my phone June [redacted]. I got am email stating that I would receive payment within 2-3 days via [redacted]. I then got a notification that the payment was declined, They stated that was because they were in a dispute with [redacted]. They stated twice that the check was sent out and I have not receieved any payment for the phone. The amount due is $120.00.Desired Settlement: I would like my $120.00 that is owed to me for my phone or I would like the phone that I sold to them back.

Review: Guzu Order Information: Order Number: [redacted] Account Number: [redacted] Order Items: 1 x Apple iPhone 5 32GB ([redacted]) Quoted Payment Amount: $65.00 Requested Payment Method: [redacted] Payment Address: [redacted]

On 6/**/2015 I sold my Apple iPhone 5 with a cracked screen to Guzu.com for the approved payment of $65 to my [redacted] account ([redacted] Tracking #[redacted]). On 6/**/2015, I contacted Guzu to inform them that my [redacted] account was never credited the promised $65. I received a reply from their Customer Service person - [redacted] who said that they were having [redacted] issues and would send me a check. I was issued a check to an old address that was in their system, not the address that I entered when I agreed to sell my phone; and it was returned back to Guzu on 6/**/2015 by the [redacted]. I received another email from Guzu on 6/** and 7/* that they would send me out a certified funds Money order on 7/*/2015, but I have not received confirmation of this actually taking place. I emailed Guzu for confirmation of which I have received no response.

Although Guzu.com has been mostly responsive to my emails, I feel as if they are giving me the run around and are being deceptive about sending me promised payment.Desired Settlement: Because there was no resolution for "I want my promised payment" that is what I'm asking. I want the $65 promised to me as of 6/**/2015 for my phone they have in their possession since 6/**/2015

Business

Response:

Money order will be sent to customer by the week of 7/**.

Sincerely,

Review: On August [redacted], 2015 I sent Guzu, Inc a box full of product worth an estimated $640 (their estimate) Within 3 days I was sent an e-mail saying that my items were delivered to their Deer Park, NY offices and that they were being verified. After 2 & 1/2 weeks I had heard nothing from Guzu, Inc regarding my order. I sent them an e-mail to their [redacted] and [redacted] e-mail addresses to see what the hold up was. After a few days, I received no response.

At this point I took my complaint to their [redacted] page and [redacted] messenger contact option. Upon reading comments in their latest wall post, I saw many people going through the same issue as me: Sending in products, receiving an e-mail saying their payment was sent, and not getting paid well after the quoted time (They quote you 5 days for a business check, 2-3 days for a [redacted] payment)

After I made a post to Guzu, Inc's [redacted] wall threatening legal action, they promptly deleted my comment. Just after this I was sent a message via [redacted] messenger saying "We apologize for this issue and look forward to fixing it for you". Right after this message, I was sent an e-mail saying that my items had passed inspection and that I would have a check sent to me. This was on August [redacted], 2015.

The last correspondence to me from Guzu, Inc was on August [redacted], 2015 stating "We are in the process of paying all old and past due accounts. Your payment will be sent to your Venmo account tomorrow"

As of August [redacted], 2015, I have heard nothing else from Guzu, Inc nor have I been paid the $640 I am owed.Desired Settlement: I want the $640 I am owed or my products returned promptly!

Review: I agreed to sell my I-phone to this company for $330.00 They sent me $180.00. I contacted them and they claimed I forgot to turn an app off which is easily done and may be done remotely. The phone was fully erased however. They claim they sent e-mails but I did not receive one. I told them they need to pay me the full amount agreed upon or return my phone. They refuse to do either.Desired Settlement: either pay me the full $330.00 we agreed up or return my I-Phone. No other outcome is acceptable. WE had a contract to sell a product and they have not carried out the terms.

Business

Response:

Unfortunately, the customer did not get back to us in accordance with our company policy regarding unlocking their phone. We deal with many customers sending us stolen phones all the time and it is the customers responsibility to get back to us in a timely fashion. I can provide you the emails with the time stamps as proof that the emails were sent. At this current time, to make it up to the customer we can offer an additional $40 to help resolve the issue, but there is nothing else we can do outside of that. Let me know where we go from here

Thank you

Consumer

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this proposed resolution is satisfactory to me once I receive the proffered additionally $40 and the matter will be resolved at that time.

Sincerely,

I initially thought Guzu would be a reputable company and trust worthy. Boy was I wrong! I sent in two used iPhone 6 along with one iPhone 6+. They gave me a fair quote and instructed me that I would be receiving payment via [redacted]. After over a month of emailing Lindsey Y[redacted], I was informed I would receive payment in 2-3 days. 6 weeks later I have no phones and ZERO response from the company as to why they never paid me. Given my chain of emails and correspondence I am tempted to reach out to law enforcement. I will be seeking legal counsel and taking the necessary steps to recoup my loss. Given the D- company rating and multiple negative reviews on [redacted] I am less then optimistic.

Review: On November [redacted], I received an email from Guzu, Inc. stating that my device had been approved for payment, and that I would receive payment in 1-3 business days. A couple weeks later, December [redacted], I sent an email asking why I had not received my payment. I got an email back, stating that their accounting department had some issues with fraud, and that they were catching up as fast as possible. It has been three weeks, and I STILL have not received payment.Desired Settlement: Payment for my device.

Review: I sold my Samsung Galaxy S5 to the website Guzu. In turn they sent me a check for $125 that was returned to me by my bank because it was a bad check. Then I was charged $12 by my bank for depositing the bad check.Desired Settlement: I want either my phone I sent them back or another valid check that includes the money I was charged by my bank.

Business

Response:

A replacement check will be sent to this customer.

Review: Guzu offers to purchase your used mobile device, be it iPads cell phones etc. On Decmeber [redacted] 2015 I received an email receipt documenting acceptance of my device at their office via [redacted], and a note advising that I should expect payment to be mailed within 1-3 days. 7 weeks later, no payment. Various emails have garnered sporadic generic responses with no clear guideline of when payment can be expected. On 1/**/16 I emailed again since their phone lines do not work and formally requested my iPhone device that I was promised $220 for, be returned since they appear to have no intent on paying me.Desired Settlement: I want the $220 payment I was promised before I mailed in my iPhone 6. If they have no funds, I want my device returned, at which point I can confirm the serial number to ensure I get the correct device returned.

Review: In July 2015, I sent in a number of iPhones for money. Received several emails from GUZU with regard to quality, verification, etc. They accepted the devices, provide the amount of money that would be sent to me in the form of a check. No payment has been made and I have attempted to contact GUZU on a number of occasions. No phone number is valid and no one will contact me on status. This is fraud!Desired Settlement: I just want the amount that is owed to me. I have confirmation numbers, etc. I have an account on GUZU that shows all of the phones that were received. Either pay me what I have been told I would be paid or return the original devices.

Response:

Review: I went to guzu.com and got a quote for my iPhone 5s 16gb to sell to this company. I received a quote for $165 for my phone. I printed out the [redacted] shipping label, packaged my phone and charging elements and shipped my phone to them. On 10/**/15 I received an email at 12:04 PM saying my package had been received and they were reviewing my item I shipped them. On the same day again 10/**/15 I received another email at 2:24 PM saying my item had been approved and I would receive my $165 via [redacted] that I had chosen as the method of payment. The email stated it would take 1-3 business days for the money to appear in my [redacted] account and I patiently waited the 3 business days. After waiting and waiting my [redacted] account never received the funds from Guzu. On 10/**/15 I sent an email to customer support through their website inquiring about the status of my payment and received an automated response that my email would be answered within 24-48 hours. Here we are on 10/**/15 and I still have not heard back from this company. I would like the money I was promised for my phone. If I do not receive the money I was promised I will assume this as theft and contact the authorities and my attorney. ThanksDesired Settlement: I want this company to finish the job and pay me the money they promised for my phone they already have.

Consumer

Response:

At this time, I have been contacted directly by Guzu, Inc. regarding complaint ID [redacted], however my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

On 10/**/15 I sent a money request from my [redacted] account to Guzu and on 10/**/15 they responded claiming they were having fraud issues with their bank account and were unable to pay me the money they promised me after they received my IPhone 5s. After researching more I have found they gave me the same excuse they gave to customers for the past couple years. I have not heard from them since this date and still have not received the money they promised after they received my phone. They have my phone and still have not given me the money promised. I want the money I was promised. I'm starting to think at this point they have stolen my item and do not intend to pay me the money they promised.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Review: Company, Guzu, Inc., mailed a personal check in the amount of $56.80 dated 12/**/14 made payable to my daughter, [redacted]. Our bank denied this check as insufficient funds. I am now being charged an insufficient fund fee of $12.00 and am out of the $56.80 which was promised for delivery of an Apple Iphone. Guzu has possession of this phone and now has written a "hot" check.Desired Settlement: Asking Guzu to remit payment due of $56.80 plus $12.00 NSF charged by my bank.

I mailed it out on august [redacted] after clearing it of everything I wanted and it arrived at guzu august [redacted]. Review: About a month and a half ago I sold my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 on a site called [redacted]. A friend had recommended that I use the site in order to make a little cash off of an old phone, as she had used it and had no issue. I sent in my phone and received a check of $88.80 a few weeks later from a third party company called Guzu inc. Upon attempting to cash the check at [redacted] bank where the check was initially issued, I was told that the account the check was created with was closed recently because of some issues. I then went and emailed a rep by the name of [redacted] from Guzu.com [###-###-####] who looked into the problem, then assured me that they would send a new check to replace the one that was sent using the old account.

Upon receiving the second check and attempting to cash it, I encountered the same issue. The check could not be cashed because it was linked to a closed account. Again I reached out to [redacted] and was told pretty much the same thing as the first time I made her aware of the problem - we are aware of the situation and will immediately priority mail you a new check. The third check did not arrive priority like I was told but actually came a few weeks later where I encountered the same problem. At this point it had already been a month since I had sent my phone and had received nothing for it. I then informed [redacted] that I would be taking this matter to the Revdex.com to which I received no reply.Desired Settlement: I'm simply looking to have what was promised for the sale of my phone.
