So please stop constantly trying to provide an email address for nanoplug in an attempt to pass the blame, as you already know full well that the email address is never answered and will never be answeredThey are a fraud, and Indiegogo is a participating accomplice You allowed this campaign to happen to make money for Indiegogo, you ignored the red flag warning from participants, you failed to get any information from the campaign owner other than an "email" and address -An unbelievably bad Vetting procedureThen you allow circa 250k dollars of the deaf community's money to be divided between you Indiegogo should be ashamed This is a completely unsatisfactory outcome Hi The situation has not been resolved Again, thank you for your help with this situation Kind regards [redacted] Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 17, 2015/12/06) */ Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform that empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to themOur Terms of Use (http:// [redacted] ) obligates campaign owners to fulfill any promised perksPerk fulfillment is the full responsibility of the campaign ownerOur Terms of Use states, "Indiegogo is an online crowdfunding venue for people and entities seeking to raise funds for their own Campaigns and to contribute to the Campaigns of othersCampaign Owners can offer gifts or rewards in the form of tangible items or intangible services (collectively, "Perks") to ContributorsPerks are not offered for saleIndiegogo makes no representations about the quality, safety, morality or legality of any Campaign, Perk or Contribution or the truth or accuracy of your User Content (as defined below) posted on the ServiceIndiegogo does not represent that Campaign Owners will deliver Perks or that Contributions will be used as described in the CampaignUsers use the Service at their own risk." Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because it still doesn't seems like a genuine response, I keep saying I'd prefer a personal email. It's not about the money, its about a corporate culture, that seems to have a tin ear about its responsibility within the crowdfunding space. In my own half a decade career in customer support I generally resolve these kinds of issues within 24 to 48 hours. IndieGogo so far just keeps being circular in sending me canned responses about terms of use, and when it claims to have reached out to me doesn't seem to feel the need to indicate who and when someone contacted me. If they can't keep track it means they don't even care. I went so far to delete my account and they don't even seem to notice. After this experience I also don't intend to fund anything through IndieGogo, and as someone who is part of a fortune 1,000 business with 20 billion in annual revenue I'll recommend everyone who asks me about IndieGogo to avoid them. Sincerely, [redacted] ***

Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2015/07/29) */ We understand this customer has a question about a campaign which raised funds on Indiegogo Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform which empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to them, and in turn allows contributors to help fund ideas they'd like to help bring to lifeCampaign owner's often offer perks (goods, services, etc.) in exchange for contributions to their campaign Campaigns are run by their respective owners, and perks are offers made solely by the campaign owner- not by IndiegogoAs such, Indiegogo is not able to guarantee that perks will be delivered or deemed satisfactoryThe nature of crowdfunding is such that campaigns on Indiegogo are raising funds for work-in-progress projects, ideas, or causesContributing to a campaign and claiming a perk on Indiegogo is not the same as buying something onlineLike anyone getting in on an early-stage project, contributors accept the risk that the project may experiences changes, delays, unforeseen challenges, and it's possible that a project they fund might not come to fruition We see that the owner of this campaign has been communicating with their contributors regarding the status of their project, as well as roadblocks they are encountering, and what steps they are takingWe encourage this contributor to review the campaign's updates tab (https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/wave-electric-28-mph-bike#/updates) for the most up-to-date information from the campaign owner, directly Because contributions made through Indiegogo are transactions that take place between the campaign owner, contributor, and payment processor, we are unable to issue a refund to this contributorHowever, we do suggest that the contributor feel free to reach out directly to the campaign owner to resolve any perk questions or request a refund We have been in touch with this contributor to outline this information Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 7, 2015/08/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) My account was debited TO INDIEGOGO not any campaign owners,So Indiegogo along with any "Campaign Owners" Have entered into contract with me You Indiegogo accepted my deposit and monies for perks for a specific item being made. After this item was made An e-mail was sent to me requesting the balance of the monies including shipping. The e-mail also stated the bike will not perform as advertised at the time YOU ACCEPTED MY DEPOSIT This is my problem with this contract salesI should have been informed the bike was not to specification earlier In the eyes of the law this is a simple contract sale, you may call it what you want,You or your Campaign owners cannot take monies and not deliver the said product or change product right before shippingI have asked for one of two things: bill me and send me the bike advertised THE DAY YOU TOOK THE DEPOSIT or 2.Refund my $ I have tried e-mailing your Campaign Owners Aaron Brady and Justin Brasmit many time both though your website and their own website I have never received a response.I will further my Complaints Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 9, 2015/08/06) */ We understand this customer has additional concerns in this matter As previously outlined, Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform that empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to themIt's important to note that contributing to a campaign on Indiegogo is not the same thing as making a purchase in a storePeople can raise money for various things, and be at various stages of their projectContributors are backing an idea, not purchasing a pre-made projectLike anyone contributing to an early-stage project, you accept the risk that the project might experience delays, changes to their original vision, or may not come to fruitionWe have tips on how to evaluate a campaign in our Help Center: http://support.indiegogo.com/entries/XXXXXXXX-how-to-evaluate-a-campaign Our Terms of Use states, "Indiegogo is an online crowdfunding venue for people and entities seeking to raise funds for their own Campaigns and to contribute to the Campaigns of othersCampaign Owners can offer gifts or rewards in the form of tangible items or intangible services (collectively, "Perks") to ContributorsPerks are not offered for saleIndiegogo makes no representations about the quality, safety, morality or legality of any Campaign, Perk or Contribution or the truth or accuracy of your User Content (as defined below) posted on the ServiceIndiegogo does not represent that Campaign Owners will deliver Perks or that Contributions will be used as described in the CampaignUsers use the Service at their own risk." Additionally,, contributions are non-refundable by Indiegogo, as stated in our Terms of Use (www.indiegogo.com/about/terms.) Again, If I have an issue with one of your "artists" which I have tried to "reach out to directly" many times and will not communicate with me.You as the "crowdfunding Venue" who has accepted my monies into YOUR account and will not facilitate any type of assistance with resolving issues by hiding behind your "terms of use" policy We as people funding projects have to right to disagree and have some type of dialogue with both you and the Campaign owners But Obliviously we don't.You simply cannot take someone's money and then turn your back on them when an issue comes up.You must provide some type of mediation even if just a phone number here you have taken my money not provided nothing not even a good explanation I will continue my efforts until I get a satisfactory answer
Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 5, 2014/07/13) */ We understand the campaign owner's concern regarding the funds raised from their Indiegogo campaignThis campaign ran as a nonprofit campaignAs such, the funds were processed and disbursed by our nonprofit payment processor, FirstGivingWe have already been in contact with this campaign owner and have relayed to them that FirstGiving had disbursed the check for these funds in April We have already been in touch with this campaign owner to outline the process, and actively facilitate communication between the campaign owner and FirstGiving, regarding the status of their disbursement Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 7, 2014/07/16) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) No, we cannot accept 1) We have no contract with "Firstgiving" 2) We didn't received a check 3) Indiegogo must prove the check alleged was endorsed 4) Indiegogo said about a check sent in April and nowadays, we are in July Conclusion We request that Indiegogo refund the money immediately either by check or deposit into the same account he had received it Thank you Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 9, 2014/07/28) */ We understand this customer's issue had not yet been resolved, and the frustrations thereinAs such, we have again reached out to this customer both via phone and email to assist them with resolving this matter After contacting this customer as well as FirstGiving, our nonprofit payment processor, we are happy to have been able to facilitate a stop to the previous check and have assisted with FirstGiving issuing a new check for this nonprofit customer We have already communicated this information to this individual and appreciate their cooperation Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (4200, 11, 2014/08/05) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 6, 2015/01/19) */ Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform which empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to them Perks are offers made solely by the campaign ownerThe campaign owner is held by our Terms of Use (https://www.indiegogo.com/about/terms) to fulfill all claimed perksAs the campaign owner is the party who offers and ships the perks, Indiegogo has no further information on when the campaign owner shipped the perks or what they shipped If this contributor is experiencing difficulties with the shipping of their perks, we suggest this contributor continue to work with the owner of this campaign to arrive at a mutually agreeable solutionWith that said, we have been in contact with this contributor to explain our Terms of Use and clarify any other questionsWe have also shared the campaign owner's contact information with this contributor in an effort to facilitate communication between these two parties Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 8, 2015/01/26) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I understand what Indiegogo is, what crowd-funding is, and what customer support isI'm complaining about the latterNot once did any of them offer to contract the campaign ownerAll they did was exactly what you just did, tell me what crowd-funding is and placed my ticket in "resolved" statusThat isn't customer support! So, while I have received all of my perks now, it wasn't of any thanks to your customer support Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 10, 2015/01/29) */ We appreciate this customer's reply and feedback on Indiegogo's Customer Support Indiegogo is unable to moderate contributor/campaigner disputesPer our Terms of Use, "we may provide the Campaign Owner's contact information to the Contributor so that the two parties may resolve their dispute." It was given this customer's claims of the campaign owner's unresponsiveness that we were able to share the campaign owner's personal contact information with this contributor All that said, we are happy to hear that this customer was able to resolve this matter with the appropriate party, the campaign owner, and has since received their perks
RevDex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I read everything Indiegogo had on their website concerning campaigns. The campaign owner, [redacted] , has NOT contacted any of the contributors nor has he performed the duty of giving the donations to the man named " [redacted] " AND has started shutting down any email addresses that can be attributed to him such as: [redacted] and [redacted] . [redacted] scammed us all! Indiegogo needs to change the way they handle funds and should be assisting in bringing this thief to justice, instead of giving responses and doing nothing to assist. The [redacted] PD police report for this scam is [redacted] . Sincerely, [redacted]
Indiegogo gave contact information for social media accounts that have been abandoned as well as an [redacted] email address that was set up for this campaign which has since been abandonedA search of the campaign owner's name turns up nothing Indiegogo will take no responsibility for not properly vetting the ownerThey made a lot of money off this campaign and yet cite privacy reasons for not being able to give out the owner's actual contact information Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:Sincerely, [redacted]
Then why put the ads on Indiegogo when no guarantee product in place? It is a scam because it did not show donation boxNor it was given any proof of banking transactions from Indiegogo to the campaignerThus, this website is scam any donors are deceived with even donationsYou know this website actually do not care about any deceiving campaignersWhy would this scam happen? I could use this website as well and use this to create campaign that is not even realBut the truth is, this company need to provide the revenue and warning of fake campaign before any transactionsThere title of this is clearA product name and the original description of the ads was all product detailsNo warning or confirmation of acknowledgement was done during the transactions of the purchaseWhat a shameThis is fake business with fake campaign but scam real money Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:Sincerely, [redacted] ***
Initial Business Response / [redacted] (1000, 6, 2015/10/06) */ Indiegogo is a global crowdfunding platform that empowers people to raise funds for the things that matter to them. As the contributor states in their complaint, contributing to a campaign on Indiegogo is not the same thing as making a purchase... in a store. People can raise money for various things, and be at various stages of their project. Contributors are backing an idea, not purchasing a pre-made project. Like anyone contributing to an early-stage project, you accept the risk that the project might experience delays, changes to their original vision, or may not come to fruition. We have tips on how to evaluate a campaign in our Help Center: http://support.indiegogo.com/entries/XXXXXXXX-how-to-evaluate-a-campaign. Initial Consumer Rebuttal / [redacted] (3000, 8, 2015/10/07) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) While Indiegogo makes it a point to give people a feeling of security by emphasizing the campaign managers are still responsible to provide perks even if goal isn't reached they don't use that same language to warn people that they will do nothing to ensure it happens. I feel this practice misleads people that visit their website into a false feeling of security and into believing there is some protection when clearly they accept payments and then take no responsibility at all. I will always believe that they simply took advantage of a 100% disabled veteran and intend to let the world know what happened to me. I plan to contact the media now. Final Business Response / [redacted] (4000, 11, 2015/10/25) */ We understand this customer has additional concerns on this matter. Indiegogo provides an open crowdfunding platform permitting funds to be raised for a wide range of projects in accordance with our Terms of Use (www.indiegogo.com/about/terms). Campaigns are run by their individual campaign owner's and not by Indiegogo. Indiegogo does not manage campaigns, nor does Indiegogo offer perks. Instead, all perks are offers made by Campaign Owners, and we recommend to any contributor who has questions about a campaign's offerings that make inquires of the campaign owner. People can raise money for various things, and be at various stages of their project. Contributors are backing an idea, not purchasing a pre-made project. Like anyone contributing to an early-stage project, you accept the risk that the project might not come to fruition. Again, Indiegogo does not make claims or verify that a "campaign owner will deliver perks or that contributions will be used as described on the campaign." The decision to contribute to any campaign is in the sole determination of the contributor and their evaluation of the campaign, not Indiegogo. We recommend that each contributor go through their own vetting process before they decide to contribute. We have compiled a list of how to evaluate a campaign, as a good starting point: https://support.indiegogo.com/hc/en-us/articles/XXXXXX-How-to-Evaluate-a-Campaig...⇄ Additionally, our Terms of Use (www.indiegogo.com/about/terms) outline the following: "Indiegogo is an online crowdfunding venue for people and entities seeking to raise funds for their own Campaigns and to contribute to the Campaigns of others. Campaign Owners can offer gifts or rewards in the form of tangible items or intangible services (collectively, "Perks") to Contributors. Perks are not offered for sale. Indiegogo makes no representations about the quality, safety, morality or legality of any Campaign, Perk or Contribution or the truth or accuracy of User Content (as defined below) posted on the Services. Indiegogo does not represent that Campaign Owners will deliver Perks or that Contributions will be used as described in the Campaign. Users use the Services at their own risk." In order to maintain the openness of our platform while protecting the security of our users, Indiegogo uses a proprietary fraud detection algorithm to quickly catch violations or unwanted behavior on our platform. We also rely on our team of Trust and Safety experts to review and verify activity on our platform and take the appropriate action. Finally, we have a fantastic community of users who let us know about suspicious or inappropriate behavior that helps us keep our platform secure. That said, we appreciate this customers thoughts on Indiegogo's position as an open platform. Indiegogo offers a space for innovation and discovery. Instead we provide a platform where people who are passionate [redacted] their ideas can connect with funders who believe in their vision. It's a core part of our ethos as a business and we vehemently stand by this belief. Our customers deserve the opportunity to fund ideas they believe in. The crowd is entitled to decide, eyes wide open, what concepts they want to have a part in trying to advance. Final Consumer Response / [redacted] (4200, 13, 2015/10/28) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I contacted Indiegogo prior to them releasing funds to the campaign manager PER THEM and they still released funds though I had not received my "PERK" They can hide behind their well written legal jargon. I'm a DISABLED VET and saved for years to buy the "PERK" in question. They had tons of complaints about this campaign manager and there is over a DOZEN people in my same situation. Indiegogo says they released funds AFTER I COMPLAINED and offer ME NO PROTECTION. Their email states, " At this time, your contribution has not been added to the campaign and we have advised the campaign owner not to ship any perks" then, "Your Contribution is on its [redacted] to the Campaign! Thank You for Your Patience. Hello [redacted] , We have an update on the status of the charge dispute filed by [redacted] ***, for the contribution to 'Quality Greenhouses anyone can afford !' on April 7, 2015 for $5,000 USD. Your credit card company has accepted the rebuttal submitted by Indiegogo and has reversed the dispute for this charge. Your contribution will be added back to the campaign and you will now be eligible to receive any perks. The campaign owner has also been notified of this update. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us. Sincerely, The Indiegogo Team "They claim no responsibility but received all of my $5000. I have nothing but time to inform the public of my treatment and help ensure others don't have the same terrible experience. I plan to speak to my congressmen next because they do care of people taking advantage of disabled vets.
Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Indegogo should not give excuses why businesses they connect people to are not their responsibulity, but rather should step up to push these companies to meet their commitments to the people who paid money to support them Indegogo should help - not make excuses why they don't.Sincerely, [redacted] ***
