Yogi' tech. support ph# [redacted]. Their ?marketing practices are very pushy. They showed me the Revdex.com report with A+ rating and told me they can be trusted. I did find out the opposite.

Tech support personnel are difficult to understand their speech due to their strong accent. Their location is in [redacted].

I called iYogi because my fax was not working. It is still not working after they billed me and installed an anti-virus software. . The printer is new. It is 4 in one.

They claimed my data files were corrupted when they were not.

My anti virus is [redacted] and they told me it was not the right one for my PC.

Telling me that my antivirus was for an XPS computer when I have a PC causing lots of problem and corrupted files.

That is ridiculous. My antivirus software scans my PC and there is nothing wrong with it.

They said they could install a MALWAREBYTES SOFTWARE and it would fix my problem.

They said they would clean out my file, which were simply the updates from [redacted].

I was on the phone for more than two hours that day. They told me they would clean out my files and would have the computer running like new.

I observed no activities other than a few minutes . My fax is still not working. I sent a fax to Europe and it does not go through. I tried several times.

I requested a refund. I was told I would get a refund. They wanted to give me a one-year free of tech. support. I told them no and no and no so many times. I had to continuously repeat NO during my conversation as they were persistent. .

I finally was given a confirmation number for a refund within 5 to 7 days. Then, I received an email from them. The refund confirmation number from the email, is different than the one told to me over the phone.

I contacted my bank and there is a dispute for this charge of $99.98 posted on my credit card.

The bank assured me that I would not have to pay and they closed that account.

I also read the many complaints from the Revdex.com and it is horrible. Many of the complaints are similar to mine. How can they have a A + rating. SOmeone at the Revdex.com is not doing their job. Please do not use this tech, support I Yogi.

Review: After purchasing services from IYogi, I am unable to reach anyone by phone or by live chat. I have made multiple attempts but I am left on a line with recorded music. The company advertises that it is available 24 hours.

I would like to receive the services that I contracted for or a refund.Desired Settlement: I would like the company to provide services or send a refund.

Review: I paid 171.00 for a tech to come and repair my computer screen. I was told that someone would be here on Monday between 12-1 pm. waited until 130pm and tried to call Iyogi. I was placed on hold for 1 hour. I called back again and was on hold another hour. I then went to computer chat. They had someone call me. They of course stated that it was not a technical issue and would have someone from the appropriate dept call me. No one did. The next day I received a call from a customer service agent, they attempted to get a hold of the correct dept and stated that they were unable. They assures me that someone would call back. No one ever did. Again back to the computer, I had spoken to my bank who states that I need to file Fraud charges against them, so process is being started. I told them this and someone called me back. I was told by the remote assist that they would start the refund process. No money has been returned to my acct. the customer service called me and again stated that they would try to get the appropriate dept. They came back on and stated that they were unable to reach them. They also assured me that someone would be calling me back. Today again I tried to call and was on hold for 1 hour, no one ever answered like always. So went back to the remote chat on computer, it states that there are no operators available all day. They state on their site it is a 24/7 company which it is clearly not. It states that you can get quick service, clearly NOT. How have they achieved an A on the Revdex.com site?Desired Settlement: Pay me back the money for a service that I was not provided. Refund me the 1 year of service that I renewed. I want no further communication with this company. I will go to someone reputable next time.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:Is this a refund for everything?! I received several back to back calls, 1 min apart on 12/**/15. I was unable to answer as I was at an appt. The message stated that someone would call back the next day. Well no one did again. I tried to call the following day but again no answer. I do Not want Iyogi at all. It is terrible service with even worse customer assistance. I do not complain often but this has been the worst business to deal with. Thank you [redacted]

Sincerely,

NEVER use them.

I was sent their contact information as Lenovo support (and told they were indeed the support for Lenovo). Forced to pay $170 for a technician to fix my computer.

I was told someone was going to show up Monday given its urgency. No one showed up and no one called. I reached out again and was told there an emergency and they would be there later that day. No go. Called back and told they would show up today. Again - no luck. Called the technician number and no one answered.

Complete scam. Currently working to stop payment.

MAYURI S[redacted] < [redacted] > Was wonderful to work with. I know nothing of computers and Mayuri put me at ease...
I was able to put my TRUST in HER... a trust that I don't easily feel in others... She is the only person that want to work with the future... Thanks Again for having someone like Her working with IYOGI_

The representative that I communicated with was polite and considerate of my needs. Being a disabled senior citizen my computer is basically my only outlet to the outside world and when it becomes dysfunctional I become extremely upset and frustrated. Their genuine concern for my pladicament was very heartwarming. They stayed on task and never missed a beat. They were very efficient and did the work expertly.

Review: I contacted iYogi about an issue I was having with Windows 10. They were trying to pass themselves off as affiliated with [redacted]. When they could not resolve the problem they told me I would need to pay $120. to fix the issue. I had to ask them several times if they were associated with [redacted] before someone finally admitted that they are NOT affiliated with [redacted]. They were just trying to scam me out of money. I also found out that they are located in India.Desired Settlement: I would like them to be required to pay me they $120. they were trying to charge me for wasting my time and being scammers.

Dear [redacted],Thank you for notifying us about customer complaints via Revdex.com. We would like to put bring up the following points:1. We clearly mention that iYogi is an independent 3rd party technical service provider at every customer touchpoint and iYogi’s web property. Also as you are aware that iYogi has been in the industry for over 8 years.2. Our representatives start every call that they receive with the call opening “Thank you for calling iYogi” so that the caller is aware that he/she has reached iYogi.3. For every new caller who calls us, our respresentative creates an iYogi account. With the details (email id, contact number and name) shared by [redacted], we were not able to trace any account. We request [redacted] to confirm if she used any other contact information over the call so that we can take appropriate action based on the results of our investigation. As [redacted] did not pay iYogi anything therefore We cannot refund any money back.On the basis of the above mentioned, we request you to consider this case as closed and resolved. We thank you for your patience and cooperation.RegardsActive Response TeamiYogi

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

Your representative when asked several times, indicated that iYogi was associated with [redacted]. It was not until I spoke to a "Supervisor" and asked him several times also that he finally admitted that your company is NOT affiliated with [redacted]. Not to mention the fact that your company was trying to charge me $120.00 for unnecessary services. When I contacted [redacted] to fix the issue it was FREE. Your company is a SCAM ripping people of! Your representatives were trying to pass as affiliates of [redacted]. That is WRONG!! STOP preying on innocent people with your SCAM practices!!! No this issue is NOT resolved!!!

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Review: I was having difficulty uploading [redacted] Nod32 antivirus on my computer for several months. I searched online specifically for "[redacted] Smart Security Phone Contact." I called the first number that popped up on the search screen. I knew it said IYogi, but I thought they represented [redacted]. A person answered the phone and identified himself as a "technician." I gave him permission to remotely access my computer to install the [redacted] program I was having difficulty with. After accessing my computer the "technician" told me the program wouldn't upload because I had over 150 issues (viruses, worms, infections) on my computer that needed to be fixed before the upload of [redacted] could take place and the only way he could fix the problem was for me to pay a fee of $349.99 for a 5-year assurance that these issues would be corrected and never happen again. I still did not realize this company was not representing [redacted]. During my many questions about this being a possible scam and not wanting to put my credit card information on the computer, the "technician" continued to pressure me into buying their protection stressing the entire time that my computer was severely infected and must be fixed or I might have or possibly already had my personal identity hacked. I relented and bought their protection and was then transferred to another "technician" who would "fix my computer." Three hours later, during which time I was following all the second "technician" was doing to my computer remotely, I asked the second "technician" who the first "technician" was and he answered, "Oh, he's a salesman." When I then asked if this company represented [redacted], I was told, "No, we are a third party sales & service business that fixes computer problems." That was the first time I realized that who I was speaking with DID NOT represent [redacted] and at that point the second "technician" was telling me he would need to delete all the programs ([redacted]) from my computer and begin from a clean slate. I told him NO and hung up. I called the company back to attempt to get my money back, but was told my only option was to reduce the 5-year agreement of $349.99 to a 1-year agreement of $119.99 because I had already spent three hours on the phone with "technicians" fixing the computer issue. The problem with the computer was never fixed and I took it to a real live person in town, who now needs to fix whatever IYogi did to my computer, such as put their "program" onto it. I felt I was misled by the first person who was a salesman, but identified himself as a "technician." I was pressured into this agreement and apparently was stupid enough to believe I was speaking with the real people at [redacted]. The kicker was they were located in India, but since the USA out-sources services all the time I felt that was possible; I don't even know where they're really located and my credit card statement won't say because the payment went through [redacted].Desired Settlement: I would like to have the rest of my money refunded, which is now $119.99.

I would also like to have IYogi reprimanded in some sort of manner. This is horrible!

I'm a 60-year-old, female, disabled American veteran, who obviously has no idea what I was getting myself into.

Review: I have paid for service through 2018 . For weeks now, my requests for servicing my computer has been ignored, and I cannot get through to anyone or get a response to my many efforts to contact them. NOW, I want a refund for the unused portion I've paid to IYogi in that they have not followed through or adhered to the terms of the contract, and are (obviously) avoiding my requests on purpose. I've asked for an explanation as to why this is happening and my requests are simply ignored!Desired Settlement: I want to speak directly with a person in management at IYogi who can explain WHY they have breached my contract. Further, I want a refund for the unused portion through 2018 that I've paid to them..

Response:

Dear [redacted], We apologize for the inconvenience caused to [redacted] and have taken the cancellation request. With regards to the subscriptions purchased by [redacted], we would like to bring up the following points- 1. For Annual Technical Support, [redacted] paid $299.99 on 03/**/20** for a two year plan. Then paid $100.00 on 08/**/20** to upgrade this to a three year plan, the expiration date of which was 03/**/2016. 2. As [redacted] is an old customer, we upgraded his technical service plan for further two years without any charges with expiration date 03/**/2018. As the paid subscription has expired on 03/**/2016, the technical service subscription is not eligible for refund. 3. [redacted] purchased CA PC Tune Up software for three years on 08/**/20** by paying $79.99 which will expire on 08/**/2016. Last three months of the product as still left, however as per the refund policy, a product purchased and used cannot be refunded as this is not an iYogi software. 4. [redacted] purchased a “Microsoft Windows 8.1 32/64-bit - Complete Product - 1 PC” on 07/**/2014 by paying $169.99 and then got this cancelled on 08/**/2014 to get a full refund. 5. [redacted] also purchased a “WD Elements 1TB” HDD on 09/**/2015 by paying $144.99. As this is a product, we are getting the status of this product checked. Regards Active Response Team iYogi

Review: I purchased their TechGenie security software last week. I received Spam and popups this week and contacted iYogi. I spent over 6 hours on hold with their Customer Service # and online chat with technicians and supervisors. They attempted to reinstall the TechGenie software and were unsuccessful and they notified me that their servers were down and it would take 5-7 days.

I then dialed their customer service number and no one ever picked up. I sat on hold for close to an hour before the call automatically hung up. I tried this on 4 separate occasions and it was the same case every time (try it yourself ###-###-####). When chatting with technical support they 'claim' they are unable to transfer me over to their customer service on line chat (which doesn't work if you try to contact them that way) as they have no way of connecting to those people.

I finally asked for a refund which they assured me they would provide for the full amounts (over $540 for my Technical Support multiyear package and my Security software package) and have not seen it. I asked for an acknowledgment email that I would be receiving the refund and the email I got instead was "I'm sorry you had to go before we could resolve your issue.Desired Settlement: I would like my refund and I would like to see IYogi banned from doing business within the United States. They are a scam operation with a large enough operation that they've scammed numerous individuals. They have tried to sell me multiple software packages that I don't need and they are impossible to contact. They are under a lawsuit by the Washington Attorney General's office and more states ought to be looking into this operation.

Dear Kevin Sarmiento, We would like to inform you that the refunds for [redacted] were processed on 04/**/2016 and would request [redacted] to check his bank statement to confirm the same. Regards Active Response Team iYogi

This company represents itself as not only legit but the best computer tech firm money can buy. They do have very high level tech skills, of that I have no doubt. However, it seems like their primary goal is to up-sell at every opportunity. They are rarely, if ever, available to speak with by phone so I use the chat feature. 100% Indian, they speak and write English ok but never seem to understand or address anything except a particular computer problem. (no big deal if they communicate well).

Why is that important? Because they seem to find a way to ask for a contract extension or tell me about a "better" solution to my problems which will cost....xxx. If I ask why they told me previously that I had purchased the top of the line service that solves all my needs, they will not tell me why this new need or service was not included. I get canned answers always saying something like they are looking out for my needs and interests and I should trust them to do what's best.

I can't reach customer service to ask why I may have double paid last year or why a new request/demand for money keeps happening. Their "request call back" button has never resulted in a call back. I think I'm being scammed and wonder if they actually plant things in my computer that will pop up to annoy me a couple weeks after whatever tech request I'm dealing with at the time.

In the near future, I'll either submit a harsher review/complaint, or learn the problem is mostly language and company restrictions.

I just got off the phone with a customer rep. who spent more than an hour helping me. He was courteous, patient, and solved my problem. I only spent $25 on the software, and it turned out it was a problem with different software, but he hung in there and got me up and running. Did try to sell me some more software, but I couldn't afford it and told him so. That was that.

Review: Iyogi made an unauthorized charge to my credit card. When I disputed it with the credit card company

Iyogi sent false information about the charge and the credit card company denied the claim.

Three time I have contacted Iyogi and each time they have admitted error and said I would be credited

the charge back to the card or would be mailed a refund. No refund has been made to date.Desired Settlement: Refund of $119.99 and to make sure Iyogi does not continue to defraud others.

Review: I had iyogi do some repair issues on one of my computers on November **,2015 while they solving issues on my computer, they advised me I should get an external hard drive and flash drive. Although I knew they were a little overpriced I went ahead and ordered from them and was told I would have them in 7-10 days. As of December **,2015 I still had not received them and called and was told the order was still being processed. I told them I no longer wanted the product because of it taking so long and wanted a refund. He said fin and said I would get a refund in 3-5 days. Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

I made a huge mistake trusting I Yogi. They took out 119.99 by mistake then the next week took out another 119.99. When I called to resolve they are difficult at best to understand.dodge your questions. End result they put 119.99 back in then turned around and took it back out. Is!!

I have been using iYogi for almost a decade. I am so happy to have the professional services provided by iYogi. The iYogi technicians have kept me sane through all the problems I have encountered. I think I would have thrown the computer out the window long ago without this service. I appreciate the 24 hour service, seven days a week. Whenever I had a problem that the level 1 technician couldn't solve, I would get a call back, by appointment, from the highest level technician and the problem has always been rectified. I highly recommend the iYogi services to all users who are inexperienced or not technically able to resolve the everyday problems that everyone will encounter.

Review: Multiple calls to billing/customer service toll free number [redacted] and the tech support number [redacted] with result of being on hold for as long as 55 minutes with the call disconnecting. I have also sent an email to customer service and [redacted] and am still awaiting their response.

I finally got through to a speak to Nikhil today, in customer service on May * at 9:11 after trying to get through when they starting answering at 8:11 am vs the 8:00 am eastern standard time they are suppose to be available per their phone message.

This is what I signed up for:

unlimited remote technical support- HAVEN'T RECEIVED ANY TECHNICAL SUPPORT SINCE OCT **, 2015 SIGN UP.

Made unsuccessful attempts April ** and April **.

24*7 365 days globally- THEY ARE NOT OPEN THESE HOURS

FDS plan 3 computing devices, 2 phones, routers, scanners and printers

5 years FDS plan at 379.99 and 3 years mac tuneup software 79.99

They are not open 24*7 only 8a-10p Eastern standard time M-F as their phone message notes. I got through to technical support April ** and he transferred me to another "technician in the windows dept" that never answered and when I called back the first tech I spoke to said "he would put in a complaint for me" as that "was not suppose to happen." He told me that he would connect me after speaking with the windows tech and to no hang up. I was on the line with music for >55 minutes and then the call was disconnected. I was then unable to reach anyone.

On my second attempt to call customer service today May *, I finally got through at 9:31a to a representative who "needed 15 minutes to address my reimbursement request" putting me on hold at 9:33a but returning on the call at 9:43a and he disclosed that I only had 30 days for full refund which was not disclosed at the time of purchase. He said that I would be charged for 1 year of service at $149.99 and would be refunded $230.00. of the 379.99 paid for the 5 year FDS plan the "second or third week on May" He said that I would get the $79.99 for the software tune up purchased.

He did not give me a confirmation # or reference # in regards today's call. He again put me on hold for another 10 minutes from 9:48a to 9:58 a to "check on something else" but came back to let me know he documented all that needed to be documented as a complaint dated today May 2, 2016.

I am seeking total refund as I should not have to pay for 1 year of services that were not rendered on first attempt to use them.Desired Settlement: Full refund at $379.99 vs. $230.00

Review: 07/**/2015

To whom it may concern:

I did a very foolish thing in downloading a windows recorder. You don’t get anything for free, unless it’s a computer virus. My computer was showing a lot of pop ups while surfing the web, and I knew something was wrong. My contract wasn’t finished with the [redacted] antivirus company, but they didn’t alert me to any problems, and this put me in the market for a new company.

I’m not sure what led me to the Iyogi company website, but I found myself in a chat window with one of their salesmen. He wanted to run a test scan to find out what exactly was causing the computer to have the problem. Unfortunately I allowed him access to my computer through the internet. It took around fifteen to twenty minutes just for the scan itself, and I realized the considerable amount of time I had been in the chat window, almost an hour. Of course the scan came up with problems that they would be able to fix at a cost. I told them I didn’t have the money, and was just shopping around for antivirus companies. The salesman opened up the internet explorer on my computer, and went to different competitor websites showing the cost of their protection plans. He went into a website showing reviews of the Iyogi service. I found out later, through web searches, that the site he showed me is owned and operated by Iyogi. After some extensive haggling and threats of leaving the chat window all together, I was able to purchase a one year tech support plan from Iyogi. They immediately connected me with a different person who had to scan for viruses again, and a couple of restarts of my computer in safe mode. There was always a scanning and downloading in the background. I couldn’t tell what they were doing and they weren’t letting me know either. The one thing I knew for sure was the amount of time I was spending sitting at my computer. Eventually he gave me the ok to leave, asking me through the chat window if there was anything else he could do. I said no without looking, relieved to finally leave my computer.

The computer seemed to run closer to normal, and I was hoping to never contact Iyogi again. Shortly after this though, I was on the computer, and it wouldn’t let me open my system restore. I found myself in another chat window with Iyogi. I gave them my information and told them about my problem, and they asked, “Why do you need to go into your system restore?” I typed back to them that I may want to in the future. The matter was resolved.

A few weeks later while browsing through files on my computer, the screen completely changed with a large message stating that I have some type of encryption virus infecting my computer, and that I needed to call a number to fix it. In retrospect, I should have recognized how bizarre it was to get a virus while not on the internet. Well, maybe if the virus was already platted on my computer.

I found myself once again in a chat window with another Iyogi technician. I wish I would have known from the beginning, what a strange practice it is for a computer technician to enter another person’s computer without having that person on the telephone. I told the company who I was, and that I had a one year technical support plan. Looking through my computer he assumed I didn’t have any protection software on my computer, and he stated before he can help me, I needed to purchase the Tech Genie Iyogi software. I got angry, and typed to him that I already had the one year tech support plan. He said the tech support can’t help me unless I have this specific software. After about fifteen minutes of negotiation through a chat window, I finally broke down and said I would purchase the software. I figured I was already invested with their tech support plan.

The next fifty minutes was spent running scans and downloads. Deleting software that was previously downloaded and installed by them, and of course going in and out of safe mode multiple times. I must have been on the computer for close to two hours. I asked him about the amount of time it was taking, and within minutes he shut down the scan, stated that he was finished, and wanted to know if there was anything else I wanted him to do. The computer screen still showed the virus warning and telephone number, and I asked him about it. His response was, “Oh that.” He then went into my computer settings, and changed the wallpaper. That was it. The message was gone. I agreed to end the chat window, and couldn’t wait to get off my computer.

As I shut the computer off, the screen began flashing, and multiple windows started closing rapidly. I decided to restart my computer, and I literally didn’t recognize one of my startup screens, and my computer just didn’t look right. Not only that, it took close to twenty to thirty seconds longer to load. I went into the new software I just purchased, and it was never upgraded. The software required payment for its features. I went on [redacted], and a [redacted] security warning popped up warning me about an outside party having access to my computer.

I believe the Iyogi Company has installed malicious spyware on my computer, including a remote access keyboard, so they can steal my information. Thank goodness for [redacted], without it I would have trusted my new computer security company, and would have no idea what was happening to my computer.

I quickly shut the computer off, and again multiple screens had to close. I’m still afraid to use the computer. I keep thinking of all the files this crooked company had access to with hours of unsupervised time on my computer, downloading multiple programs besides the Tech Genie that was never upgraded, and deleting countless other files. I can’t believe I allowed access to my computer, and to be suckered in by such a dishonest company.

I was charged for the initial tech plan, a separate charge for the software I never received, and more money for the new technical support I never agreed to pay for.

The [redacted] credit card company insisted that I get a cancellation number from Iyogi, and I found myself on the phone this time. I spent over a half hour trying to get the cancellation number from one of their representatives. I was put on hold multiple times, and they refused to give me the number. They said that I had to pay an additional fee of a hundred and some dollars to cancel my service. After forty minutes of requesting the number I told them that I was going to contact my credit card company and the Revdex.com, and hung up.

I called [redacted] and told them that Iyogi refused to give me the number. While on the phone with [redacted], Iyogi left a message on my answering machine, stating that I would not be charged for the cancellation fee. “Good Karma.” – Their slogan. I was still being charged with the initial technical support plan for the year, that I don’t want, and another technical support plan I never agreed to pay for.Desired Settlement: A little pressure from the credit company, and all charges were eventually dropped by Iyogi. The problem is I have a computer I no longer feel safe using. This time I plan on going to the reputable company “[redacted]” to get my computer wiped clean, so I can feel safe going on the web again. The estimated price range is $149-$199. Date Sent: 7/**/2015 4:09:46 PMI want Iyogi to cover the cost to fix the damage they did to my computer. The estimate [redacted] gave me is $149 to $199.

Response:

Dear Mediator,Thanks for the notification. We would like to inform the user that we are one of the leading remote tech providers in the World and we tried our best to resolve the computer problems, however the customer thought that we didn't do a good job so he asked for cancellation. We respected his decision and processed a complete refund of the money paid. Now the claims of we 'destroying' his computer are completely vague. We do tech support and if we are not able to fix a problem , we are well capable enough to not make it worse. We request the Revdex.com to close this case as whatever needed to be done from our end has already been done even before this complaint was filed.ThanksRegardsART, iYogi

[Your Answer Here]

Their response does not surprise me. Yes they did refund my money, but whatever they did to my computer will cost up to two hundred dollars to fix. If you read other complaints about Iyogi on the internet, you will see that these type of complaints are common.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Sincerely,

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,We would like to reiterate that we have already gone ahead and refunded the amount that the customer paid us. He hired us for tech service, didn't like the service so he got his money back. We shouldn't be dragging this case too long to waste everybody's time. We request the Revdex.com to close this case. ThanksRegardsART, iYogi
