Review: IYOGI is an extortion ring. I did not pay the fee that they were asking. Interestingly, the CSA said I am not asking for money, while the message on the screen indicated 149.00 for one year and double the rate for five years. The software product is [redacted] and it is offered for a one year subscription at a fee of $20.00 as an upgrade to the free software, but it cannot be downloaded when problems occur. I presume that since it is a tech support service number, there must be some rules which prohibit them to sell. While they did not ask for the fee orally, the rates were indicated without a dollar sign in the dialogue box on my screen. I think this needs to be investigated further. I do not trust them one bit. [redacted] from India indicated that they only did a diagnostic on my system and that was all. I queried him on what did they do or install into my system and he said nothing. Just as I was about to hang up I see an icon called Mac Tuneup which was not there before their intervention. I was lied to, they have added this program to my computer. Furthermore, they did not ask me if adding this program was ok or not. Now My concern is, since I did not agree to pay 149.00 to fix my problem, what could they do to jeopardize my computer further? What other things have been added to my computer without my knowledge? I believe that IYOGI is operating a very lucrative scam with [redacted]. I also believe they owe me 149.00 because they only asked for permission to access my system. They did access my system with my approval but they did not have my permission to install what is now in my system. IYOGI could not set up the live connection and while assisting me they had to try different options to gain access, as a consequence my system is compromised because I allowed them to lessen the security n my system to enable their access. IYOGI has presented as they were a good solution to my problem, however they are the lowest of low by preying on people who already have computer problems, but now it will undoubtedly only get worse with IYOGI. In all probability, IYOGI will plant the seeds into our computers so that a new super duper computer service st[redacted] up will be unveiled to help with the most recent cyber attacks of the day, only to st[redacted] the scam cycle yet again. IYOGI should not be listed as a Revdex.com company, they are using Revdex.com to manipulate the consumer. Is this what the Revdex.com wants, to rip off the consumer?Desired Settlement: Take them off your list!

149.00 for installing software I did not approve of and decreasing the security for system access

149.00 for lying to me

100.00 for waisting my time and saying they were not selling but in point of fact they were

120.00 for installing other things I do not know but must now pay for finding out what is there

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]

They IYOGI is not even acknowledging that I exist or that we have had a discussion. Why should I waist more time by calling them? IYOGI gained access to my computer yesterday. They installed their own proprietary software to do a diagnostic assessment of my computer. This software is stored and is visible on the desk top screen. Fyi I am Canadian, should that help to find me.

The connection with IYoGI was live.

In order for the Revdex.com to appropriately process your response, you MUST answer the question above.

Response:

The following message is the email sent to [redacted] at The Revdex.com on Dec. *, 2014.IYogi persists to indicate that they have no record of my email address. Whether they have my email address on account or not is none of my concern. If Iyogi cannot find my information in their system, then this is both unfortunate and rather embarrassing indeed. For Iyogi to state that I cannot be found in their system is irresponsible of a computer solution based technical computer company. The information technology for which they profess to be, a source of expediency in resolving computer problems, cannot find my information in their system, however yogi fails to see the logic that the fact remains as it is here evidenced from the email I forwarded on Dec. *,2014. I have furthermore indicated how my information was given to Iyogi while a live chat took place. Iyogi has the capability to make this very simple statement of fact but they continue to deny that they have been in contact with me. The message below very clearly indicates Iyogi was indeed involved with me and my computer.I have already given you permission to share my response of Dec.*, 2014 with Iyogi directly. As you have requested that this information be included in this complaint process format I have obliged.meTo[redacted] Dec *See the attached photograph od the Mactuneup software. This is in the content of the Mactuneup software which Iyogi installed on my computer. Please see in red 12 lines down, Iyogi is indicated. This is a report which I have just generated. It is clearly indicates here that Iyogi is in point of fact included in this string. For Iyogi to be included in this string means beyond a shadow of doubt that they indeed were connected to my computer.Iyogi is lying and this is my proof that they are lying to the Revdex.com and to me.I continue to experience problems with my computer, as it is shutting down regularly. This has taken place since Iyogi gained access to my computer. Please remove Iyogi from your list of recommended businesses.[redacted]I hope that this will satisfy Iyogi that what I report is the truth and they can explain now why they continue to make statements that are deflective rather than a remedy to the situation.

Response:

Dear [redacted], We are not sure what the user is trying to achieve by sending response after response which does not contain the simple things we have requested, which are: 1. His iYogi Account ID, and 2.The registered phone number or registered email ID in our records. It’s really very simple. Either [redacted] is a customer,in which case he must have the information we are asking for and absolutely require or he isn't a customer in which case there really isn't much we can do to help him. After all it is not inconceivable that a person uses two email IDs, and a different name to register an account. Once again we are stating this fact that with the information provided by [redacted] to the Revdex.com we cannot locate any account with iYogi. We have gone back and forth on this case with the user making allegations and insinuations without providing real account information. We do not wish to deflect anything. We want to resolve this case. All we have asked is that the user provide documentation of his account with iYogi. Only after that can we investigate and do anything. If there is any email or photo that the user has sent to you as mentioned by him, please share it with us. The string that has been sent to us in the last response means nothing really and has been taken from two different software residual signatures. This is our very last response on this case. If the user sends his iYogi account information in reply to this then please forward that to us and we can do everything in our power to resolve the users problem. If however,he does not then he isn't looking for a resolution at all but is only making baseless allegations. In which case we will leave it up to you to decide this case as you see fit. Review: iYogi sends known bad phishing URL's with reminders to use their service. I initially signed up for their service when the tech promised that they could fix an installation issue with my anti-virus program without re-installing windows. I wasted 4 hours on the phone trying multiple techniques until they required me to load a copy of the Windows Installation Media. When I obtained the media, the technician told me I had to completely re-install windows complete. The only reason I paid for the service in the first place was they said they could fix the issue without re-installing Windows. I ultimately re-installed windows without their help. Now they keep sending me email reminders with viruses attached. I did not complain initially because I had already wasted too much time on the issue. However they keep sending viruses with the Revdex.com logo on their email that contain phishing URL's. That was just too muchDesired Settlement: 1. Quit attaching phishing URL's to their email. Below is the message my anti-virus returns when I try to open their email reminder.

'VIPRE Anti-phishing removed a known bad URL from your email message. It was deleted or quarantined and replaced with this message. ?'

2. Refund my initial charge.

I had not pursued getting my money back previously because they had already wasted too much of my time. However since they send emails with the Revdex.com logo attached and included viruses I thought I needed to complain.

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,

Thank you for notifying us of this complaint. With regards to this case we would like to clear a few things here. Firstly the emails that we send to our customers are auto generated ones and they do not contain any malicious content which will cause harm to the computer. The emails are mostly regarding the working of Windows ( the OS) of the computer. The customer does not need to worry about his computer getting infected. we have though made sure that he does not receive any emails from now on. Secondly [redacted] is an active customer of iYogi and if he has any complaint regarding our services or needs any technical help , he can call us and discuss it with us by dialling Toll Free [redacted]. We are sure we will come to a solution to all the problems ( Tech & non Tech) that he puts forward. We are here to help and it would be a pleasure doing so with [redacted].

Review: original issue was difficulty to gain access to the internet and a very slow computer...iYogi was contacted and they went thru the procedure to fix the problem...all the while trying to sell me policies for longer term service insurance...as I continually said no, they continually gave me the sales pitch during my first two contacts...at the end of each session they asked me to give the individual a review which I did cause it appeared that maybe they solved the problem...but at the same time I still had difficulty signing on while still on the phone with them at which point they would do something else and then say that should solve the problem...they deleted files that seemed to be trivial...in addition to the iYogi monetary charge, there was a charge from another company supposedly for software that was never installed...after my complaint I was given a refund for that charge...the third time I called them I informed them that I would contact the Revdex.com and put in a complaint at which point a [redacted] got on the phone and went thru the procedures himself and did not try to sell me anything...again it appeared that the problem was fixed but never has been...at this point I decided that calling them again would be to no avail and just accepted that I got poor service...but now I decided to put in my complaint...Desired Settlement: in addition to a refund I believe that iYogi should review its policies including not trying to sell insurance repair policies while trying to fix the computer problem at the same time...their focus should be on procedures to fix the computer problem and then maybe to try and sell additional long term insurance policies

my complaint has not yet been resolved...their apology alone warrants a refund and thats what I expect...three times they worked on my computer with no repair...twice they tried to sell me an extended plan before even coming close to repairing the problem...each time they worked on my computer and after the technicians telling me it should work fine, the next day I still couldnt access the internet for ten+ minutes and the computer was still slow...I believe that this inconvenience and money spent without repair warrants a refund...the [redacted] offered to have another technician work on the computer at which point I told him that I was having someone else to the repair...thank you, [redacted]

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me and the matter has been resolved.

Sincerely,

Review: On or about July **, 2012, iYogi processed a payment on my credit card for $220.00, for two years of service. Then another iYogi rep added $100.00 to extend the service to on or about July **, 2015.

On or about November **, 2013, iYogi representative told me that my [redacted] antivirus program was expired. I replied that I was almost certain that it was not and asked him to wait just a minute while I got that file from my desk, to confirm. He said he was sure it was and since iYogi is the "default" where I am always routed for problems concerning [redacted], I allowed iYogi to process a payment of $139.99, for three years protection. The charge on my credit card statement was labeled [redacted].

Shortly after that, [redacted] sent an email notifying me that my subscription was about to expire. When I tried to contact them, I was referred to [redacted] who processes their payments. Several emails to and from [redacted] resulted in them telling me that no payment was processed on behalf on [redacted].

This matter, coupled with many other problems concerning iYogi prompted me to call iYogi, on March *, 2014 and request a p[redacted]ial refund from the $320.00 service subscription and a full refund of the $139.99 sold as [redacted]. I supplied to them the service call #s of sessions when these charges were incurred and all other info they requested. They said they would review the recorded sessions.

Eventually, a refund did appear on my credit card statement for the unused portion of my service subscription but not for the $139.99.

Repeated calls to iYogi have brought no results. I am put on hold and then disconnected, each time I call.

As a side note, my computer became more jammed and dropped programs, each time they worked in it.Desired Settlement: They should stop calling customers with these hard-sell tactics and misrepresentation of products. Repeated requests that they stop calling me, during our several-years of business together, only resulted in them calling me more often, including weekends.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:

[Your Answer Here]The matter of $139.99 that iYogi posted to my credit card has not been refunded nor have they addressed the fact that this charge was submitted as a contract on behalf of [redacted] Antivirus.

After sending credit card statement info and other pertinent info through [redacted] (handles payments for [redacted]),[redacted] denies initiating this request for subscription, and my subscription with them had not, in fact expired.

I expect a full refund of my $139.99, issued as a check and mailed to me. To date, no other collection fees have been assessed on my behalf and a timely refund would prevent them.

Review: On May *, 2014, I purchased a one year computer support/clean-up/pc optimizer from iYogi in the amount of $199.99. They promised to clean up my pc and get rid of all viruses, unused data, unneccessary files, etc. After spending 13 hours with them, both on the phone and my pc within two days , these problems were not only unresolved, but my pc speed has been even slower than before, I can no longer access my bank online, and there is missing data from my social websites. I contacted them today, May **, 2014, and the iYogi technician took control over my pc (with my permission) in order to resolve these issues; however, instead, my computer froze, I lost all of my passwords, I had to complete an automatic shut-down, and when I phoned the company (iYogi) on both phone numbers, I ramained on hold for over 30 minutes before I hung up. I am not only $200.00 out of pocket, but my pc is worse off than before I began!Desired Settlement: Take everything off of my computer and give me my money back.

Review: I began having a heavy volume of pop-up ads from iYogi on my laptop, inviting me to increase the efficiency and security of my computer. I am not interested in this product. After several weeks of spending an inordinate amount of time closing these pop-up windows, I phoned the number on the screen for iYogi, ###-###-####, on 4/**/2014 at about noon and spoke with a representative. I asked the representative how I could stop the pop-ups from siphoning valuable work-time out of my day. The representative informed me that these pop-up ads for iYogi were a product of a computer virus. I expected representative to help me remove the virus from my laptop; instead, he told me I would need to pay a minimum of $199, for a 1-year contract, in order to get his help in removing the virus. (Or I could pay $299 for a 2-yr contract or $399 for a 3-yr contract). In other words, iYogi has succeeded, by its own description, in infecting my computer with a virus and will only help me remove it if I buy their service! This is an outrageously unethical sales practice!Desired Settlement: iYogi should help me safely remove the virus which is tirelessly producing unsolicited ads for its services on my computer,by paying me to have the virus removed by a qualified software technician (a one-time service from a nationally recognized, mutually agreeable, provider).

Response:

Dear [redacted],

Thank you for notifying us of this complaint. With regards to this case we would first of all like to inform the customer that iYogi is one of the leading remote tech support providers in the world. We possess a Revdex.com rating of A and do not indulge in such petty things like infecting anyone's computer. Moreover, it's practically impossible for us to access anyone's computer without his/her permission. Secondly, we are a tech support company , not some virus spreading scammers. Our job is to help people with their computer problems when they call us. This customer seems to have infected his computer somehow but casting the blame on us is certainly not the right thing to do. We are sorry but we cannot accept anything that this customer is claiming. We request the Revdex.com to close this case.

Review: iYogi hacked my new laptop on Feb. **, 2014 and contaminated it with 14 viruses. iYogi wiped out my [redacted] and [redacted] software. iYogi disabled [redacted]'s firewall. iYogi lied and misrepresented themselves as third-party vendors to [redacted] and [redacted]. iYogi damaged my new laptop and harassed me to buy their services even though I had just renewed my [redacted] subscription on Feb. [redacted], 2014. iYogi stole my files and confidential information. iYogi disabled my access to the [redacted] so that I could not access [redacted] or [redacted]. iYogi held my computer hostage until I paid them money to fix the damages they created.Desired Settlement: I want iYogi to compensate me $5,000 for the damages to my new laptop, for lying to me, for humiliating and harassing me, for the [redacted] and [redacted] software packages they destroyed and which are no longer any good, the fee to [redacted] of $150 to pay for cleaning up the viruses iYogi put on my laptop, and more. Since they destroyed my laptop, stole my financial information, and most likely sold it to another identity theft criminal entity, I want them to pay for 7 years worth of credit monitoring.

On April **, 2014 iYogi sent me an email asking me for business. I never gave them my email address. I want them to stop contacting me.

Consumer

Response:

[redacted],

iYogi hacked into my laptop on Feb. **, 2014 infecting it with 14 viruses and ruining it. After stealing my computer files and confidential information that day, on April **, 2014, they sent me an advertisement for their business to my gmail account. On Thursday, April **, 2014 at 6:11 pm, someone called my cell phone as a Restricted Number and then hung up.

On Friday, April **, 2014 at 1:31 pm, someone hacked into my Facebook account. Also on Friday, April **, 2014 at 12:56 a [redacted] named [redacted] ([redacted]) called me from ###-###-#### and screamed at me over the phone. He wanted to know why his call to me the day before with his restricted number was disconnected. He was belligerent, using hostile, intimidating tactics and told me that he looked me up on my work webpage. He demanded an answer to his question. It was obvious that he was stalking me. I hung up the phone. I do not know anyone by that name and phone number. Before the hack attack from iYogi, no one ever spoke to me like that before on the phone. I do not know if [redacted] ([redacted]) works for iYogi or if iYogi sold my confidential information to another party -- who is now harassing me for money.

The settlement I request from iYogi and [redacted] ([redacted]) is as follows:

1. They must cease and desist all future contact with me via phone, email, and every other form of communication.

2. They must delete my name, cell number, email address and all other contact information they have on me from all of their databases.

3. They must stop releasing, sharing and selling my name, cell number, email address, Facebook account information and all other contact and confidential information they have on me to any and all parties regardless if those parties are personal and/or corporate, in residing and/or working in the U.S.A. and anywhere in the world.

4. They must never hack my laptop again.

5. They must never hack my cell phone.

6. They must never contact me at my place of employment.

7. They must never harass me at any time and at any place where I live, work, etc.

If iYogi does not comply fully with this settlement, I will not hesitate to proceed with legal action.

Thank you,

Business

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,

Thank you for notifying us of this complaint. With regards to this case we would first of all like to apologize to [redacted] for any sort of inconvenience caused however at the same time we would like to set the record straight that iYogi does not indulge in any fraudulent or malicious activities with it's customers. On receiving this complaint we performed a thorough investigation of the calls and recordings that took place and our quality team did not find any evidence which would justify the customer's claim. No application whatsoever was deleted from the customer's computer. According to the customer's statement , she lost her [redacted] office due to the [redacted]'s mistake and they were the one's to download it for her using her email address. So we think the customer should take it up with them and get the issue sorted out. The iYogi [redacted]'s put forward certain options in front of the customer as far as purchasing an iYogi subscription is concerned, however the customer denied and hence the call was closed. We hope the Revdex.com considers the above mentioned points and closes this case in our favour.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because: ???

The claim that iYogi made in response to my Revdex.com complaint dated April [redacted], 2014, that they do not participate in fraudulent activities, is an absolute lie. Their accusation about Staples creating a problem with my password is another absolute lie. Staples is a great company and their tech specialist never created any problems with my password when I purchased my laptop in 2013.

When the woman from iYogi sabotaged my Microsoft account, she deleted my email address and then inserted her own to block my account, I did not know she was evil. The iYogi woman pretended she was trying to help me because she was a third party vendor to Microsoft. She was a [redacted] and [redacted]. When she told me that she could not enter my Microsoft account to fix it, she was lying. She knew all along what she did. She wanted to extort money from me under the guise of trying to help me. She then pretended there had to be some explanation why I was having trouble accessing my Microsoft account. So, I started to wonder: when I purchased my laptop, I inserted my email address at Staples and there was no problem then and for a whole year. All of a sudden, there is only a problem now with iYogi.

Staples spent two days cleaning up all of the problems that iYogi created for me when iYogi hacked into my laptop on Feb. [redacted], 2014. iYogi dismantled my Norton firewall, infected my laptop with malware and 14 viruses, dismantled and then blocked my Microsoft and Norton software with their passwords so that I could not get access to those accounts. Staples informed me that customers come into their store every week with the same complaints I had, i.e., iYogi ruined their computer or laptop. This epidemic of hacking and extortion by iYogi no doubt goes on all over America. Customers' laptops and computers are ruined by iYogi and then Staples technicians are the ones to clean up the problems.

Considering that I had just renewed my Norton subscription on Feb. [redacted], 2014, the Norton firewall gave me no warning that I was being hacked. The iYogi hackers knew how to dismantle my Norton firewall. iYogi claimed they are third party vendors to Norton, Microsoft and all technological and software companies. Then iYogi tried to extort money from me to fix the problems they created with my laptop, and Microsoft and Norton software.

iYogi - who hacked into my Facebook account on April **, 2014?

iYogi - who is stalking me via phone and called my cell number twice under false pretenses on Thursday, April **, 2014 at 6:11 pm and Friday, April **at 12:56 pm, demanding money from me?

iYogi - who is [redacted] or [redacted]?

iYogi - who did you sell my confidential information to?

Of course, iYogi will not take any responsibility and will not tell the truth. Why? Because their responses will be used against them in a court of law.

The settlement I demand from iYogi and [redacted] ([redacted]) is as follows:

1. They must cease and desist all future contact with me via phone, email, and every other form of communication.

2. They must delete my name, cell number, email address, and all other contact information they have on me and my family from all of their databases.

3. They must stop releasing, sharing and selling my name, cell number, email address, Facebook account information and all other contact and confidential information they have on me to any and all parties regardless if those parties are personal and/or corporate entities, who reside in and/or work in the USA and anywhere in the world.

4. They must never hack my laptop again.

5. They must never hack my cell phone again.

6. They must never contact me at my place of employment.

7. They must stop harassing me at any time and at any place where I live, work, etc.

If they ever contact me again in any way, I will commence legal action against iYogi and any and all individuals and groups they sold my information to that is acting under their direction to scam and hack me.

Sincerely,

?

Response:

Dear [redacted],

We would like to clear certain things. iYogi cannot access anyone's computer without receiving the customer's consent on it. It's practically impossible. We do not share any information with anyone regarding our subscribed or non subscribed customers. We don't jeopardize our business by doing that. We are a tech support company who receives calls from customers all around the globe , we do not callback customers unless and until it's needed.

The customer doesn't need to worry about any of the points she has mentioned in her response. Like mentioned in our previous reply, we pitched for a sale of a subscription to the customer, she rejected the offer and hence the case was closed then and there. There is no need to drag it. Lets close it now.

Thanks

Review: I have a contract (verbal) with iYogi for computer service account [redacted] . I purchased a new computer. they called as to why we were not connected. We told them we had a new computer and they told us that they would switch the contract to my new computer-they said it is good until July 2014- no charge; however when we called them all they did was try to sell us more service. We told them we did not want anything more but they just kept on trying to sell rather than do what we requested. They had to talk to my husband as I can't hear on the telephone. He finally got so disgusted he hung up on them after REPEATEDLY telling them we did not want more service only what we had. We have a problem now and wanted it fixed.Every time we talk to them they try to sell service rather than take care of our problem.Desired Settlement: The contract applied to my new computer and our problem with the computer listened to and solved. Review: My college aged daughter was having a problem with her Dell laptop. She went online to look for Dell service and support. IYogi through deceptive online advertising, represented themselves as Dell service. My daughter called the number, explained the problem and attempted to make a repair appointment at 5pm on 2/**/13. She was asked for a credit card number to reserve the appointment (which was promised for the following Friday, 5 days out). Instead of just reserving an appointment, she was deceptively and fraudulently "Sold" a service contract for $169 or $179. Less than 2 hours later we attempted to cancel the appointment and were told we could not receive a refund. Since then, I have spent over 4 hours and numerous phone calls trying to get this resolved. The usual "wait time", and "call center run-around" is what I have received. I have spoken to numerous representatives including [redacted] and [redacted] on 2/**, and [redacted], [redacted], and [redacted] on 2/**, (none would provide last names). The IYogi reference number for this transaction is [redacted]. I will add that at no time was anyone rude. They were however, indifferent and clearly not empowered to provide customer service, instead they just recited company "policy".Desired Settlement: I am disputing the $79 cancellation charge and want it removed from my bill. Also, if this is a common complaint, Iyogi's deceptive sales should be investigated.

Review: My PC had sound issues and they said by installing Windows 8 the problem would be fixed. I spent $ 265 for the repair. It did not help the problem. So they said by purchasing the service contract for a year for $ 179 they would fix the problem. It did not work. They then said it was my speakers, so I ordered new speakers from them for $ 40. I have spoken to them 4 times and spent hours on the phone. The last call they told me that my Dell Inspiron 530S is not compatible with Windows 8 because Dell does not offer sound drivers for it and that they cannot reverse the installation to bring me back to Windows 7 as I had before. I asked them why one of the technicians did not know it would not work in the first place. Now my computer has no sound at all and they say I have to live with that. If they knew it would not work, then why did they tell me to buy new speakers ? Of course, now they tell me I should buy a new computer from them for $ 460 and that the service contract is transferable.Desired Settlement: I want a refund credited to my card for the $ 265 purchase of the repair/installation of Windows 8 to my computer since it did not solve the problem, plus the $ 179 cost of the service contract that they coerce you into buying by saying they will not answer any questions on the phone subsequent to any repair work done by them. And the cost of the new speakers is $ 40 which is pointless as the computer by their own admission will never have sound again. My total refund would be $ 484 and I requested this from them and they refused to offer any adjustment of any kind.

Response:

Dear Revdex.com,

Review: I was led to believe I was calling the Apple support line but in fact was contacting this third party service provider who was illusive on the phone and asked personal questions I later wish I hadn't answered. When confronted about what company I was talking to the man on the phone did admit it wasn't Apple support but was insistent that I pay him for services to fix my computer issue when I had clearly already identified that I had coverage through Apple for this type of problem. When I suggested that it should be covered by Apple Care Protection that I had purchased he insisted that it wasn't and that I was going to have to pay him for the call. I got their number from a google search looking for apple support's phone number and they were one of the sponsored links at the top of the search. This and their nature on the phone makes me think what they're doing (pretending to be Apple) is very intentional. They SHOULD be very clear at the beginning of each call about who they are and if it seems like a customer thinks they called Apple should indicate that you've called a separate company. Their business practice is unacceptable.

Consumer

Response:

In response to your email - No, I did not pay for the call. I detected the fraudulent nature of their business scheme and clarified who they were and then terminated the call. I'd like an explanation from the company as to whether they train their phone attendants to be clear about who they are. The man I spoke to avoided answering my questions and instead of stating they weren't Apple and that I should call them if I have coverage, he kept insisting that he would fix my problem and that I needed to pay him. I'd like them to look into the staff member to see if his conduct was against their training but unfortunately I don't have the staff member's name. If nothing else I would like them to acknowledge that their business practice in this case was unacceptable and I would like this information to be published online on the Revdex.com website as I suspect this is a common practice of this company.

Review: I signed up for technical support from IYogi. The promise that they made me was that my computer would work better than ever and be quick and they would protect me from viruses and malware. My computer runs worse than ever. Every single time I have to call them - which is often - they require that I am in front of my computer and they take no less than 2 hours. They try to sell me something new EVERY time I am on the phone with them unless I start the conversation with - "just fix the issue, I'm not upgrading or buying anything today." They convinced me that I shouldn't buy a new computer, but instead employ their services and they could fix anything. About a week and a half ago, I called them because my computer wouldn't load Adobe Flashplayer. They were on for a couple hours - it didn't work. Then again about a week ago - it didn't work. Then today, I called about 5:15 pm and I just got off the phone with them at 10:30 pm. I'm not exaggerating. At one point the tech told me he had to go get a glass of water and would be back in two minutes - 15 minutes later he comes back and says "oh sorry, my Manager pulled me into a meeting." I was holding on the line that entire time. I just want them to have to reimburse me for all the money that I have paid into them to this point and I wish there were a way to reimburse me for my time, but I doubt that there is. I have spent countless hours with them while they fumbled around worse than I could have done. Please help me. They can't keep doing this to people and get away with it. You feel like they are holding you hostage on the line because they have remoted into your computer and you have no choice. If you hang up on them, you lose your place and they have to start all over again. Hours later, no results.Desired Settlement: I'd like them to refund me for everything I have paid into them and the malware software I bought from them because it obviously doesn't work. Also, I'd like a letter of apology from the Supervisor that thought it was okay to pull her employee into a 15 minute meeting while I was sitting on hold while my computer was frozen. The date of the call was 2/**/2015.

Review: On May * it was suggested by iYogi that my computer was out of date and needed an upgrade to Windows 8.1 I ordered this product on that date on May * I received a confirmation of delivery on or before May **. This product never arrived at my address. On may **, I contacted iYogi to inquire of nondelivery, they suggested I contact [redacted], I contacted [redacted] and they told me that the product was never released by iYogi, I called iYogi back they said they would have to investigate and get back to me within 24-48 hours. On May **, I called [redacted] back, they told me the package was still with shipper. I contacted iYogi and requested a refund since the problem was between [redacted] and iYogi, they issued me a 10% discount on the product and assured me the product would be delivered. The 10% discount was applied to my bank on May **. On May ** I contacted iYogi and requested a full refund. The provided me a cancellation #[redacted] they also promised an email with this info, never received. On June * I sent an email requesting status of refund, generic email followed from iYogi that my request had been received and it would reviewed and a response within 24-48 hours. This has been the case when I emailed to followup on June *. Again with an email saying it was under investigation and it would be 3-4 business days to get a result. My final communications with iYogi was on June ** via phone. I spoke with [redacted] and [redacted] (supervisor). They both told me that their system showed I had been provided the refund the same day the 10% had been applied. ON that same day I contacted my bank and they did not see a refund of $153.90. The total price of the product was $170.99, I received the 10% $17.09 on May **. I called iYogi back and spoke with [redacted] and told him that the bank did not have the refund of $153.90. He said he would have to contact his finance department and get back with me. The [redacted] was a thursday and he did not have time to get back with me until Monday the [redacted], his finance department was not open on the weekends. [redacted] assured me that the problem would be resolved and he was offering me an extended 6-month on my technical support package, which I purchased in March 2015. I told him that if I did not get any resolution to the $153.90 refund I would cancel my tech support with their company since I was not satisfied with their inability to satisfy me with this product purchase. Ridiculously on Sat. morning at 820 a.m. I received a call from iYogi customer support that they wanted to talk to me about my complaint. They did not seem to know the issue and after I explained [redacted] said she would speak with [redacted], she came back on the line and said she had spoken with the finance department and was assuring me that the refund would be applied on Monday June **. I confirmed with [redacted] that she had spoken to her finance department and she said yes, that was a Saturday, [redacted] had told me that their finance department was closed on weekends. I am going to contact my bank and request their intervening in recouping my $153.90. I am also going to request they try and recoup the $149.99 or part of it for the tech support.Desired Settlement: refund of $153.90 plus $149.99 all or part of. $149.99 tech support purchased march 2015.

Review: iYogi has charged my credit card for a renewal that I did not authorize for the anti-virus software Kaspersky. I have tried to get this resolved directly with them and the credit card company to no avail. I did not authorize the renewal, I do not want the renewal, I have asked for credit for this charge. A credit was issued, but has been reversed. Although I am still hoping iYogi resolves this issue, it should not have occurred in the first place.Desired Settlement: I strongly expect a refund of $129.95 to my Discover card and no further charges made.

I'd like to add, that "auto-renewal policies/programs" need to be re-evaluated as these are the reasons for many disputes. I am thankful that this matter is just about resolved and thanks to the Revdex.com for helping to get this matter resolved. I appreciate iYogi's immediate response to this matter and thank them for their help in getting this matter resolved.

Review: I have a customer relationship with iyogi. It began with the purchase of a router manufactured by Netgear. A problem with getting it to work arose and I called the customer service tech. listed in the information purchased with the router. I then began my relationship with iyogi. They were the company that is contracted to assist Netgear products. They fixed my problem and I paid for a tech package to assist me with any computer problems in the future. the next time I had a problem with my computer I called iyogi. I was high pressured to purchase a 3 year plan with Mcffee software they downloaded to my computer to protect it for 3 years from any virus problems. The next time I was having trouble with the McAfee virus program. I contacted iyogi again and was told that I needed to purchase a windows 8 for my computer or my computer would no longer be operating properly. To be able to create the gmail account needed for an application (McAfee was not allowing this to happen) This was fixed by iyogi. I was able to create a gmail account. However, I had no money to purchase this Windows 8. This is the third time I had contacted iyogi and the third time I was asked to purchase something "i needed to make my computer work properly". The McAfee was not turned back on by iyogi after the gmail problem. A problem that I paid for a 3 year plan. A virus entered my computer and crashed it. I have lost all information and unable to get it to work. A virus that I was told was protected by purchasing this 3 year plan. I was emailed by iyogi that my computer was in danger but this was too late. I purchased a new computer for $498 it had McAfee installed on it for a trial. The day after this trial ended began the last conversation with iyogi that was on April **, 2014 at 2:10 PM. The tech that contacted me was named [redacted]. I informed him of I no longer had the computer that their customer service online help was on. He was very blunt when I told him of the virus that destroyed my computer. He was indignant that iyogi did not put a virus on my computer. (Language barrier) I told him no I did not say you did. I said that what ever was done to my computer previously left my computer in danger. He then spent the next 40 minutes trying to get me to purchase a new plan from him and he would guarantee the safety of my computer for 3 years. Informed him that I had purchased on from iyogi that did not work. I was told about a terrible virus that is in the news that could crash my computer if I did not purchase this plan. I informed him that I am WELL aware of this virus first hand and again told him that the plan from iyogi did not protect my computer (which was a gift to me) He told me again I just needed to purchase this new plan and he will personally guarantee that my computer will be safe. He claimed to be the [redacted] and could not do anything about what had happened in the past but will insure the computer in the future. I also told him I am disabled with a very small income. To purchase a 299.99 three year package was not an option. I had just spent 600 on a new computer. (tax and 2 year warranty plan added on to 498. He told me no money right now but May [redacted]. I told him I will not have this money may 4 wither. he was getting more and more agitated with me and very condescending . I was essentially told I was a fool for spending that money and could have bought a computer from them cheaper. (Are we surprised) I told him that I had a three year plan purchased that I was told was for all electronics in my home already and not even a year had passed out of the 3 years. This plan was no longer in effect and I needed to purchase his plan. I did not have the money and he essentially told me that live with the consequences of not having their help. I disconnected from I yogi and hung up the phone at this time.Desired Settlement: I would have been happy with a new virus service at no charge for my trouble. I now would like a refund of the McAfee plan I purchased. For the treatment by this representative I believe that the service paid for should have protected my computer from damage. I need a $498 refund for the loss of my computer from breech of contract on their side. A receipt can be provided to verify the cost of the new computer. the tax and warranty are my responsibility.

Dear Revdex.com,

Review: I was using an anti virus software through my cable company, Total Defense in April 2013, and when I started having issues I called in and was transferred to iYogi for help. I purchased extra protection for my desktop & laptop. Within 1 day I was being BLOCKED from any website I went to stating "You've been blocked because it's a "dating service" or "weapons"....i'm trying to pay bills on our Cabela account, which does sell weapons, but my Kohls credit card is not a dating service. I'd say 50% of the websites I go to are BLOCKED by Total Defense & 2.puresight.com. The first day I was on the phone over 2 hours. They were very helpful and pleasant.....the NEXT day I have to call back and do it all over again.........the next time I called to cancel my account and was issued a refund. Supposedly everything is removed from my computer, but I'm still getting BLOCKED by Total Defense & 2.puresight.com. I've been calling iYogi for 2 days and after 45 minutes of hold time I have to hang up. I'm so angry at that point I don't want to yell at someone..........I do not have service with iYogi any longer, but they are STILL BLOCKING MY WEBSITES........PLEASE have someone do something. I need my computer. This blocking issue was why we cancelled everything......three days in a row for the same issue is ridiculous, especially for a new customer and now I can't even reach them to fix it.....for the fourth time.Desired Settlement: To never have another BLOCKED website again and to never see 2.puresight.com or Total Defense/iYogi again on my computer
