Company is a total scamCharged us for extra insurance, extra pod and kept backing out our AAA discountAdded several unauthorized charges
We were quoted $to deliver pods miles and ended up with an $billThey added insurance, extra pod, backed out our AAA discount several times and gave us the run around overtime we wanted a detailed billingAll our stuff arrived wet and smashed
On Monday, March 21st, two empty PODS were delivered to our houseI realized after loading them that we did not need the third POD to be delivered on Monday, March 28th, so I called PODS that afternoon and canceled the third PODThe representative on the phone told me that I had called in plenty of time, so the third POD would be canceledOn Easter Sunday, March 27th, I received an automated message from PODS stating that my POD would be delivered early the next morningI was not only surprised, but worried that the POD would be delivered to the address that I had just move out ofAfter a long night with no sleep, I called PODS the next morning and a representative told me he would send a message via dispatch and the POD would not be delivered and I most certainly would not be charged for the POD Around 9:00am I received a call from the driver stating that my POD was on the wayI told him I called PODS and a dispatcher was suppose to notify him to not deliver the PODHe t
I was supposed to receive a credit of approximately $back to my credit card in April 16, 2016; however I did not and have begged for it for months
Upon deciding to get a contract with POD's, I received a bad customer service experienceI filed a complaint and a POD's resolution manager contacted me and provided me with a $credit for the bad experience and I was informed my first month payment would be $My first month payment was incorrectly charged as $and I called to get the issue corrected no less than times and each time stayed on the phone between minutes to hours to get the issue correctedEach time I was told the matter would be resolved and the issue is documented within the companies filesThe issue was not and has not been corrected to this dateThe last call I had with the resolution department stated they would handle the situation and about days ago, I received a letter stating I had a $dollar charge after I fulfilled the contract and
Rat fecal material an water damage on my stored items, refund, and replace
I moved many items from my old house have been in a single POD storage unit for months Recently I went to retrieve some items, and opened the POD and found profound rat feces ant some water damage on many of the very furniture items I intended to put in my new home
When asked about the damage POD referred my to an outsider Insurance vendor, who told me that in my contract it specifies that rodent damage is not covered , as for any potential water damage, once I remove my items the POD will one pressure tested, though otherwise, I am out of luckwhen looking on line many other customers states profound rat damage ( with PICS) , only to be told your out of luckI can't put these infested items in my new home, its a total lossI was sold on the advertisement of climate controlled environment for storage( yeah right)
It appears after months of harassment they would rather sell my things than accept my payment
I have used PODs in the past and had an excellent experience When this transaction went south I was very surprised I have been over charged and locked out of my account so I can't pay my bill Now they will auction my things because I wasn't able to call them before 4:30pm and even when I did I wasn't able to be transferred before the department I was supposed to talk to left for the day Very bad customer service I have asked to have a supervisor contact me since September and yet it never happened
Several billing errors and company is unresponsive to correcting them
On February 22, I was charged $delivery charge on Pod # On March I was charged $delivery charge on Pod #2, and on April I was also charged $for the delivery of Pod # All were delivered to the same location which was given during the initial quote Why was I charged more for the first pod delivery than for the others?
Secondly, I was charged $299.54/month for the first months rental on Pod #and then $for the forth month I was charged $246.09/month rental on Pod #and Pod # Why was I charged the higher $for months on Pod #1?
PODS claims I put contents insurance on the first Pod in the amount of $49.95/monthThere was no such agreement Nor was there an insurance proposal in the initial quote If there was insurance, why would the charges all of a sudden end and not be charged on the forth month? Why was the insurance not only charged on the m

I had a great experience with PODSThey made the whole process really streamlined, and even had referrals to professional packers, which I needed in this instanceThe team who packed my belongs did an excellent jobI stored my belongings for months, and when I unpacked the POD recently, everything looked fineI haven't unpacked everything, but I haven't seen any serious damageA couple of furniture items had some tiny abrasion marks, even though they were well wrapped with moving blanketsThey are easily repairableI think this is to be expected during a move

If you don't want to read the whole story at least read the bullets below
-Terrible customer service
-On hold for hours
-Clueless employees
Stay far away from PODS! Why, you ask? Read my experience below!
The Story: PODS definitely had the market on this productWe here without a house for weeks due to the closing dates not lining upWe figured PODS would be the best bet since the price is reasonable and you only load everything into the POD onceThey deliver it to where you need, and simply unload itEasy, right? Wrong!
My wife initially spent about an hour on the phone speaking to a rep over the phone to quote and book our PODWe figured a single 16' one would be good enoughHowever the sales rep was persistent that we needed twoHe informed us we can always cancel the second one
So the week of the move comes and everything works out great, we get the call and email informing us the first POD is on the wayThen we get another communication about a second one, and then a THIRD!Went on our online accoutn and there should only be Called up the trusty 800#, you will be on hold for at least minutes guaranteedThe lady was very patient and helpfulTurns out when we changed the date of somethign over the phone, the rep made us a new account and a new POD orderGot that sorted out after about hours on the phone
After that fiasco we loaded up our single POD and cancelled the second one (wasn't needed as we estimated initially)A couple weeks later I go online to make sure our POD would be delivered to the new home in timeSure enough there is no delivery date! We booked this over the phone a month ago! Called up PODS and they proceeded to blame us for not informing them of the date or addressTheir excuse was that they "quoted" that to us but we did not say we want to "book" it that wayI guess we just sat on the phone for an hour giving a rep this information for fun? So sure enough, they say there is no way to get the delivery date we wanted anymoreThey are way to busyBy the way, the whole company is severely understaffed
The next problem, the PODS storage facilityWe called multiple times to multiple people (another 6-hours on the phone) trying to get the date correctedDuring which some reps would try to helpOther times the reps would literally say that we screwed it up so it is our faultEverytime the 800# PODs reps would try to get a hold of the PODs storage facility they would hear nothing backThere was about days on calling and no responsesFinally, they tell us that we need to physically go to the facility to see why no one is answeringOK, strange request but I am not paying hundreds of dollars more to stay in a hotel since PODS messed up my delivery
My pregnant wife drives the hour commute to the facilityThe lights are off and doors are lockedAll that is there is a sign on the door that says call the 800# for issuesCall back the 800# and they have no idea what to doMt determined wife drove around the facility and found two workers whom were moving PODSShe told them the situation and they said "No problem, we can deliver that date"They explained that their manager is out of state so no one answers the phone
The last headacheThe POD came on the right day after countless hours on the phone and after physically hunting down PODS employeesWe emptied our POD out in daysWe informed them (over a month ago) that we wanted it picked up after those daysBut of course they lost this date tooSo we had an empty POD in our driveway for over a week, blocking any parking spotsPODS said they do not have time to move the PODOn top of that they charged us $for the next month of PODs storageApparently, it is the customers fault that PODS is so understaffed that they cannot keep up with their own commitmentsAnd they will charge you for itAfter again calling the 800# we got this fee reversed at least
Overall, moving is a hectic experienceIf you want to lose your sanity, countless hours of your life, and deal with a clueless company during your move I would recommend PODSFor the rest of us, AVOID PODS!
