Complaints include: great mental and emotional distress due to lack of communication and communication resulting in not being able to supervise drop off or pick up of PODs in CaliforniaAlthough PODs requires consumers to pack the pod "correctly" they do not provide, nor require the purchase of essential tools such as strap

A design flaw in the pod construction jammed the door
The door was jammedThe company physically suspended the pod at a degree angle, shook, and dropped the pod several times at an angle to try to shift the contentsThe service person spent an hour doing this, possibly damaging the contentsHe took a prybar to the doorWhen this failed, he suggested his manager send someone out to remove the doorWhen I called customer service for a follow up about opening the door, they told me they would either take the pod an hour away from our home (the delivery location) and unpack it (which goes against our contract)I told them that was not acceptableThey scheduled a pick up of the container without our consent (which I refused)Eventually I spoke to a supervisor who gave multiple reasons for not opening the pod in our driveway, starting with "it will look unprofessional." When I refuted that, she said that it would expose trade secretsWhen I refuted that, she said the equipment

After having a POD delivered, filling it, and having it held in storage for over three months with no issues and complete ease of scheduling (as well as paying full price for each part of this transaction), we had it delivered to our final destination After emptying it, we found that we were not able to have the POD picked up for nearly two weeks, during which time our billing period reset, forcing us to pay a month's worth of storage fees to have an empty unit sit unused in our driveway (by contrast, every other delivery window was scheduled within 2-days at a maximum)The central customer service line agreed that this was ridiculous, but seemed unable to both contact the local office or resolve the issue for usThe reason they gave is that the local service center is understaffed, but there was no way to get on a waiting list or find out more information about other options: at the end of each call, they just asked me to call back to the same central service line the next day t

My issue with PODS began when I called to schedule a time for my PODS to be dropped off at my new homeI called and spoke with somebody who informed me that only two of my three pods had shippedThe other was still sitting in PA and had not shippedI asked why the third had not shipped and was told it was because I did not authorize it to shipI corrected the customer service agent and informed her that on the day that I called to authorize the shipment and finalize drop off location, I added a third pod at that time and gave authorization to shipThe agent that added the third POD made a mistake and did not add any delivery information for the third PODAfter they picked the third POD up, it just sat in PA because of their mistake and flawed systemThey rely entirely on the customer to catch their errors and they have terrible customer service
When I called, I was put on long holds and spoke with people who could not help me with my problem and lacked basic customer service

Please, do not trust this company to move your belongingsThey over-promise and under-deliver, quite literally
They will tell you that they can get your POD to you with only hour noticeThen when you actually want to get your stuff back, "oops, it's busy season, that will be days."
The cost was more expensive and far less convenient than promised
I will not use this service ever again

Unauthorized charge for a charge of on August 29, Account closed as of July 5,
I am writing to give information to support my dispute claim against PODS for a charge of on August 29,
Pods was not authorized to charge this because the account with them was closed on July 5, I had finalized all payments due to Pods on a personal credit card I'd spoken with Pods customer service several times after requesting delivery, because at the time I'd requested that the Pod be delivered, I was told that it would need to be returned by the end of June After I complained that the delivery time was eating into the time needed to empty the container, I was told that I could have until July the 5th as a grace period without being charged additional money and that date had to be set before they could schedule the delivery of the Pod So I set the date as July 5th hoping to get that date extended, by the number of days it would take to get the container de

Excessive charges, advertising, endless unreturned phone calls
After being poisoned in my home in February 2015, doctors ordered me to flee my rental homeWas extremely ill and could not function to do muchCalled pods to store belongings in May 2015, thinking I'd have a new home soon afterwardsAt that time I was told delivery to my new home would be $Finding a new home was impossible on disabity income with the rental explosion in Seattle, and had to pay extremely high rent to pods ever sinceFinally got a home weeks ago, paid off all past due fees and asked for delivery at which time I was told it would be another $to have it delivered to Medford, OR, thier closest delivery site (hr drive away) and not to my homeI don't have that kind of money, so I'm forced to go back miles to pick up my belongingsI was also told there would be no more charges for storage as I was picking up my things 9/16/Now I have an email notice that my account is past d

Over charged from start to final pick up
Poor customer service
We moved from Indiana to Florida needed extra storage
While we unpack, we ordered a POD out of Ocala, Fl officeto be delivered days before our arrival time, In our phone conversation and online reserve initial fee 132$ 115$ drop off fee POD delivered day of our arrival, ok I except that at least it made it here before we pulled in, while traveling I'm not checking my banking but once I got to our home I did, Pod took 341??$$ dollars from my account not 247$ as expected!!
This on July 27, on Aug 11th I called for a pick up, explaining to the customer service lady that since they took way more out of my account at drop off and that I didn't use it my full pd month, took use my credit towards the 98$ pick up fee, and 1st available pick up date was the 16th, and PODS does not prorateupset at the idea I told her to change the pick up date out to my full months rent and it could just sit here until then, I pref

PODS lied about our container being shipped, did not inform us of a need to keep receipts, and is now refusing to adequately compensate us
On January PODS delivered our container to our rental homeOn February 5, PODS picked up our container and shipped it to a storage facility where it was to be picked up and transported to Wilsonville, OR and then delivered to our new home on Saturday, February 13, On Friday, February 12, we received an email (4:05pm) confirmation and a phone call (approximately 5:30pm) informing us that our estimated service window for our container delivery was between 7:30am and 10:30am Saturday, the 13th, as plannedAt 7:11am on Saturday morning, nearly minutes before the beginning of our estimated service window, I received a call & voicemail informing me that my container would not be delivered until the following Tuesday at 10:00amAt approximately 8:00am on Saturday the 13th we called PODS Customer Care Center to ask why our service window ha

I had used the PODS service twiceLast time I used it, it became a nightmareI used of their containers to keep my household goods for approximately monthsThe process was easy and it ended on Feb 5th Once I was done moving all my belongings to the new place, I called PODS to have them pick up the container back on Feb5thI was also told that my presence was not needed and that they were familiar with the location, and that they would pick up the container in the AMI was also contacted by the local PODs driver to verify the pick up and once again he acknowledge that my presence would not be neededOnce the process was supposedly completed I was charged a termination Fee of during the Month of FebruaryI discovered during March that I was once again charge a fee of I contacted PODS at the regular number to find why I was been charged and the lady immediately told me that I was credit with the amount back on March 12th, however it was lie because when I check my bank account there were no creditI called back and she told me that I needed to check with my bankI called my bank and verified that no credit was providedI called a third time on the 27th of March and was told that the reason I was been charge was because my container was not returned I then ask why was I been charged the termination FeeI requested my money to be return immediately She advised that an investigation would be generatedI don't think any internal error within the PODS company should not be a liability to the customerI requested a supervisor and got Mr Kasey Bruce/Call Center Operations Supervisor IIHe notified me that he would generate the investigation and that he would try to work with the local PODS site where the container should reside to find an answerI let him know that I should not be held liable for their internal errors and I requested my money backTo this date I haven't receive my money backI received the following email from the supervisor: From: Kasey Bruce [mailto:***@pods.com]

Hello Mr***, I have stopped the billing for the monthly chargesThe location is still investigating the situation and until it's resolved I am not able to credit back anything I will be in touch as I find out more
Once again my money (the customer) should not be held for an internal error within PODSI feel this is a disrespect towards the customer

PODS keep calling me saying I owe them moneyI pay and they keep adding in charges I provide proof from emails stating that I am paid in full
I have paid $for a move of my household goods from ***PODS is saying I owe $for storage in July and all my household goods were delivered in June How can I owe money for a month after deliveryThey are now saying they are going to turn it over to a collection agency

Furniture was damaged during delivery in which the Pod was dropped from side to side and the company has refused to reimburse my losses
I moved from Florida at the end of August, and when my Pod was redelivered in MA, I observed the delivery, and saw that the entire storage unit dropped several feet side to sideUpon unpacking by belongings, hundreds of dollars worth of furniture was irreparably damagedI worked with Pods for over months and rarely received timely responsesUltimately, they determined this was an expected delivery and refused to reimburse my lossesI also observed the delivery of the empty container in Florida, and it was completely smoothI have sent photos of the damage which I had an expert review, and it is clear the damage was caused by furniture lifting off the ground and slamming back down, which I'm certain occurred when I observed the container delivery and it dropped several feet on either side instead of smoothly descending to the groundInstead

We were lied toWe paid upfront for a unit only to find out they don't deliver from point A to Point BThere was a mile limit no word about additional charges for extra milesThere was only Wanted to charge us twice as muchBAD customer service, I WILL NOT recommend them to anyone even my worse enemyVery dissatisfied
Product_Or_Service: storage

PODS failed to make my storage container accessible to empty after I had family and friends from across the country travel to empty the container
In February of 2015, my family moved from***, WA to New York, NY We needed to store family keepsakes before we moved and choose PODS as our storage vendor We have been loyal PODS customers for more than two years and have been satisfied with our service from PODS until recently
We made the decision to empty our PODS storage container in*** and move our keepsakes to my parent's home in***, WA so we could more easily access our belongings while we visited family We no longer lived in***, but across the country in New York; therefore we needed to coordinate travel schedules, work schedules and on-site support in order to empty the container and transport the belongings to***This process included:
Calling PODS on Tuesday, June (hours before our requested move out date) and arranging access to the P

I scheduled my pick up day for my PODS for a pick up date of 7/16/ Received a call on the pick up date that they couldn't pick up until 8/1/
I called PODS weeks ago to schedule a drop off and pick up date for two PODSThey dropped them off on the scheduled drop off date of July 11, The pick up date was scheduled for July 16, I received a call on July 16, from PODS customer service stating that due to staffing issues, they could only pick up one of the PODS They are telling me that the earliest that they can now pick up the other POD is on August 1, I told them this is totally unacceptable as I'm closing on my home on July 20, 2018, and the remaining POD needs to be removed from the residence The POD is on the driveway and the new homeowners will not be able to get into the garage The customer service agent said there is nothing they can do about it PODS has already charged my credit card for services which they did not follow through on

My husband I contracted PODS to make a move from Colorado Springs, CO to Kissimmee, FL We had use their services before without incidenceThe container was delivered to our Colorado Springs residence and picked up as scheduledThe delivery to Kissimmee, FL was scheduled for August 17, I made the necessary flight arrangements to be in Kissimmee, FL for the delivery of the containerI also prepaid for movers to unload the containerWe received a confirmation email from PODS that delivery would be on Friday, August 17th (see excerpt below)
Cr: XXXXXXXXX
Order Number: XXXXXXX
Service Date: 08/17/
Service Window: 7:AM and 10:AM
We made arrangements accordingly, the whole day passed without any updated information by phone or email from PODSI called around 8pm that night and a PODS representative advised there was a delay and he assured the container would be delivered on Monday August 20, At our request, He also open an incident

Contract date for delivery was not upheld
Have a contract to have the POD we rented to be delivered on 6/12/17, when we called on this date to find out around what time to expect delivery, we kept getting the run around Finally found out that our POD was still at their main hub in New Jersey and we would get it weeks from today According to our contract with them it was supposed to be delivered today, 6/12/and they could not tell us why it was taken off of their delivery schedule, we did not authorize or make this change The POD was delivered to our house in Kentucky on May 30,2017, picked up on June 3, 2017, delivery date in *** Maryland for June 12, We paid $for our move and received very bad service and headaches My cr for this is ***

Won't deliver as advertised
I agreed to use the PODS storage service after calling and confirming they would deliver to the cities in which I was looking to moveI was told that yes they deliver as long as the truck can physically get there (as they cannot travel narrow gravel or mud roads, for example)
I called today to schedule delivery and they said they don't deliver to that zip code (which is easily accessible right off a major highway and has a huge parking lot)So next I gave them the zip codes to the cities I mentioned in the initial phone call and they said they don't deliver to those zip codesI said that is not what your sales rep told meThen I found a zip code for a very rural area miles north from my desired drop off spot and they said yes they do deliver thereI said why don't you just drive more miles on the highway and deliver to location you said you would months ago? They reiterated that they don't deliver to that zip codeI have escalated the issu

We decided to save some money and use PODS for our move over the summerOur POD was delivered 7/2/and picked up in mid July to go to storageIt was delivered to our new address on 7/27/and was to be picked up 7/31/They picked it up 8/3/after THEY deleted our pick up day because their schedule was fullIt was picked upSeveral days later I saw a new charge from pods on our credit card accountI logged in to the PODS account, and there was a rental charge for the month of JUNE WE DID NOT HAVE A POD IN JUNE OF I called PODS, they assured me it would be removed from my account within business daysIt was notI called again, same assurance that it would be removedIt was notI disputed the charge through my credit card company (Chase)Chase tells me I'm not liable and that PODS never responded to them within the day periodThen I get a letter from PODS stating they are demanding payment or they will turn this into 3rd party collectionsI call Chase,
