Fraudulent! I was contacted by my credit card company that this transaction seemed unusual. I did not intend to authorize a membership.. The credit card sent me a new card, but then a membership ($50) was rolled over to this new card. I called the credit card company again and they put a block on this merchant and are issuing me another card.
Initially, I was diverted to this site when I was searching for someone to help me with music software. I did allow a $1 charge on my card to get information and then was then further directed for question submission to an attorney ???? I started receiving notifications about music job openings ???? and also an email about music instrument appraisal ???
Apparently the initial $1.00 was for the free trial which would be converted to a paid charge. I immediately tried to cancel. It was four months later when the fraudulent membership charge appeared.
Hello Reid,
Thank you for reaching out to JustAnswer.
We're very sorry for any inconvenience. It sounds like you were surprised in regard to the monthly membership payment. We apologize for any confusion or misunderstanding. When you visited our site and began the process of posting your question, you were met with several messages from us explaining how you are signing up for a Trial Membership to run for 7 days, starting from when you post your first question. If the trial period was not canceled within that 7-day window, your account would transition into a full membership, where we would collect a monthly payment from you each month until you decide to cancel the service. This was all readily displayed for you when you were submitting your billing information before your first question was posted.
We also send several membership related emails that mention your next billing date, including a Subscription Reminder email to announce that your trial period is coming to an end and that your first membership payment is coming up. The Subscription Reminder email includes a cancellation link. Additionally, your bank or credit card statement is a record of the monthly payment from JustAnswer.
Please let us know if we can assist you further.

Scam. I was supposed to do an international webinar as a guest and was having trouble getting camera to work. Person at JustAnswer knew less than I did. Could not solve the problem and he confirmed it would only be $1 charge. I saw pending charge of $46 so I called immediately. CSR said there would definitely not be a charge and "membership" was cancelled. The next day they charged my card. Now when I call, they put me on hold, transfer you and send you to someone whose phone connection is so bad, you can't hear them. Then they assure you it will be credited back and then they don't. DON'T EVERY USE JUSTANSWER!

In researching your account, it looks like Dr. Perry needed to know how much Max weighs and couldn't really help you more without knowing that information. I have turned off your membership so you won't have any more recurring charges.

I was working on a security camera system and could not find the schematics anywhere. While I was looking, I saw an ad for Justanswer.com. I thought hoax but for $5 they might have the answer that I had been searching for. ?Long story short, they didn’t come close to answering the question. ?I complained but like I said, $5.
At the end of the billing cycle I got a bill from them for signing up for a monthly subscription. WHAT??
I went looking for a # and saw in their FAQ that you could cancel with a click. I canceled. I even tried to remove the CC info but it would only let me add or change the info. I thought about complaining and fighting it but I was late and duped. That brings me to Mon, May 11th, 2020. This morning on my account is another charge. I went straight to the site and my account. It won’t bring up that section. When I go to the same cancel button I used before, it would redirect me back to the info page.
March 18 $5. Trial
March 28th $66.
Canceled
April 27th. $66
Canceled by email...
May 13 RECHARGED!!!!
Why do you have these guys at an A+???? WTF???
You are clearly shady and a dishonest business...
Hello Barry,
Thank you for reaching out to JustAnswer. I'm sorry to hear of any frustrations you're having.
In researching your account, it looks like your membership was turned off on April 24th so you would not have been charged in May. I do see that you contacted us in May but there were no May charges.
Please let us know if we can assist you further.

I emailed asking for refund of $46 I explained the reason why I forgot to cancel the trial offer. I've been going through a custody battle, losing a home and lost my part time job. I paid $5 for a question I had about custody case and stopped using it before even the trial ended. With all these happening pandemic, custody battle, losing a home and lost a job I totally forgot about cancelling the membership. I know my fault but I'm being honest and emailed and explained my situation and that $46 is a lot for me right now and I'm not getting any income since the father of my child been claiming me every year because I was only making $100 a week. I appreciate the lawyers that answered my question and if anything would use this services again but after emailing and asking for refund and explained genuinely why I didnt get the chance to cancel the membership and still told me that they can't refund me back even tho shows I stopped using it before trial ended that I won't use it again.
Hello Lili,
Thank you for reaching out to JustAnswer. I'm sorry to hear about your circumstances. I hope the Expert was able to help you about your custody question.

I signed up to Justanswer because I was looking for a manual for my canon camera. Justanswer's website made me think it had a special relationship with Canon and was somehow authorized by them. I didn't realize I could find the manual I needed online for free. I signed up for the 7 day trial for $1 and didn't remember to cancel my membership in time. This resulted in me being charged $46 for one month's fee yesterday, May 20, 2020. I have since cancelled my membership and requested a refund. I suffered a stroke a few years ago so it can be hard to remember all the things I should do. I don't even remember seeing that if I didn't cancel within 7 days I would automatically be charged $46. What is the purpose of a $1 trial other than to get a customer's credit card information and hope they forget to cancel? I am a senior citizen and receive only social security each month. $46 is a lot of money to me. I would like justanswer.com to refund my $46 please.

Scammers. That is how I would describe them.
Lure people in with five dollar trial membership and then keep them hanging for hours in hopes of a response from a so called expert.
Their whole business model is based on the assumption that you will forget to cancel the membership and they will be able to charge to 40.00 USD each month.
The sad part is, it could have been a good service, but no, it's easy to cheat.

In a panic searching online for an answer to something, somehow in my panic signed up for a $1 trial membership. Now I have been charged $50/monthly for membership I never intended No phone number to call just an online chat. Basically told so sad too bad - we can cancel you but not refund your $50 but you can use our services that you don't need and didn't want until the next billing cycle next month. Total online scam that takes advantage of people looking for answers online

They offered a Trail for $5 and that is all I authorized. I had one question, and got a simple answer, which was really no help at all. I just got my credit card bill and in addition to the $5 there was a membership charge of $60 which I did not sign up for. I am on my third call requesting a credit to my card and am getting no satisfaction. Stay away.

Unethical business scam for all the same reasons below. Seemed like an acceptable enough idea to pay $5 for a quick question but to not receive a warning and then have my card charged for a service that was not usable for the upcoming month and getting the same response as ALL the ones below. It's an autoship illegal scam.
I even suggested that due to the pandemic that perhaps they could show kindness and compassion. Widowed mother of 4 with no job and can't afford this ridiculous unnecessary monthly service. Yes they canceled my membership but ONLY AFTER CHARGING $37 which is absurd.
Prey. You prey on people like me. Shame on this business. I don't care HOW many years you've been in it or how good of a service you are. Karma will come back to you. Unethical business.

To use their service, they require a "Membership". The first seven days is a trial, however, it is then converted into full membership . It is up to the consumer to inform the company that they wish to cancel. I somehow did not do that and I got charged $35 a year later. I called the Company and they refuse to refund my money . I used their service that first day in order to get advise which was not helpful but willing to pay for the one-time use. Did not use service again and only after I saw the charge on my credit card a year later that I realized I got ripped off

I want to give them zero stars. I told them what my issue was. It was the Control 4 remote. after 24 hours a rep called me - and attempted to trouble shoot... and I repeatedly told them this was JUST the remote issue - it needed to be reset, my cable was fine. I was mislead and want 100% refund, but I can't contact a real person. also ... on their site, they automatically put my review as a 5 star !!! I did NOT rate them that - and I would give them a ZERO star. this is a SPAM. Please help me. ]

What a trap!! Lead me to believe they were customer service. Wrong! After following thru, answering questions, as if they were from a true customer service rep of the company. I am directed to pay cash money - as if it’s my responsibility stop trying to make a buck from other folk’s business!

This company has charged me fees everytime I try to resolve errors on my ROKU television. They refused to refund funds taken out of account on multiple occasions. And whenever I go to ROKU.COM, they appear and charge a fee everytime and don't resolve the issue and after 1 try I'm disconnected. I just want my money back.. They are a ripof

Hello Nina, Thank you for reaching out to JustAnswer. I'm sorry you've been having problems with your Roku and I hope you've gotten it fixed by now. AUTOMATIC ACCOUNT SETUP IS A FRAUD! BEWARE-
If you use their "$% Trial" and do not immediately cancel them you are automatically STUCK with a monthly charge on your credit card! They REFUSE all attempts for a refund. THEY KNOW that you are busy troubleshooting a problem at home with a major appliance or some other matter that caused you to reach out for help, will likely remain busy and then FORGET once you finally get done with a stressful time. THEY TAKE ADVANTAGE of this STRESSFUL TIME in your busy life to LASSO you with their "but we warned you about it" SCAM disclaimer.
DO NOT USE THESE FRAUDSTERS!!! They are ILLEGITIMATE and they know it.

From dutiful to deception in one click! Found site, agreed to $5 question input, agreed to fee for conversation with lawyer, seemed helpful at this point. Then pop-up box asking for acceptance of annual $60.00 membership fee, to which I DECLINED. All done until credit card activity displayed all three charges including $60.00 fee, which was declined. Upon call to query, was told that I did not respond within one week trial period (I replied while on initial site visit!) and that fee was not refundable. Too bad that deception appears to be a policy at this organization if you review the numerous reviews. Buyer beware.
Hello Robert,
Thanks for letting us know about this. We're sorry for any confusion about the payment for the site.
The membership charge amount and information is presented to all customers on the payment page prior to entering any billing information. After the question is posted and the membership is agreed to, we send a receipt E-mail, as well as a payment reminder E-mail, 3-days prior to the recurring billing.
The membership bills at the end of the 7-day trial in order to avoid an interruption in service.
We have found your account and reached out to you privately to resolve these concerns.

JustAnswer Customer Care
