I paid for trial membership and cancelled promptly. I got an email confirming cancellation, and so far have not been billed additionally. What I have received is a barrage of promotional emails. I have followed the prompts to unsubscribe on four separate occasions--with no luck so far. My advice: Stay away from these folks, even the $5 trial offer. Seeing the number of complaints on Revdex.com only helps prove my case.

I just tried to use the chat and it was fake. It kept saying I was being transferred to another agent when I wanted to find out more about their risk-free offer for $5. Not sure what that even means...I believe they are a sham as I could not even get a real person on chat...only a bot. And there advertising of risk-free is misleading when there's a fee and no ability for a refund if I'm unsatisfied with the service. Beware!

I felt the site to be very deceptive. Once I asked the question, a host came up and asked further questions. I was then notified it would cost me $5 dollars to answer the question on line or I could opt to have the answer given over the phone for $29 to have it be more personal. I didn't think I needed it at the $29 level so I just paid the $5 dollars for the online answer.
Next think I know, I'm being charged $29 on my charge card. Upon calling, I'm informed it was for a 7 day trial and I should have canceled it if I didn't want to be charged and that I had been sent an email saying so. I took a photo snap of my emails and showed them I had not received any such email...nor have I since. There response was too bad.
VERY DECEPTIVE!!!!

Signed up one evening due to a problem with my F350, I received one answer which really wasn't an answer but simply a question, I canceled and am still getting answers to my post. I used the Chat forum to see if they could get them to stop sending me emails, they said a supervisor would be on, 20 minutes and still hadn't heard from anyone, except "Pearl" when I tell her I spoke with her already she disconnects.

Ok tried the chat and still "pearl" is only responding and then she drops off once she realizes its me.

It seems like a hustle in the simplest of terms.

I ask for help. Paid the $5 they asked for. Never received an answer to my question. Then they proceeded to charge me $40 a month that I did not authorize. Since January I still have not been credited my $80. They are a scam.

I ordered a trial period with this company on 05/03/2020 and had a 7 day trial. They charged my card on the 5/10/2020 and refused to reverse the charges even though I could not find any emails from them about cancelling the services as they promised when I signed up. I was also yelled at on the phone by the representative. I was mislead to believe the service was only in a local area and did not have use for anywhere else. I am totally unhappy with their customer service.

Hello Cheri,

I can certainly understand your concern and your frustration over your charges and why you would be requesting a refund, however, I must remind you that you are not eligible for a refund.

My father contacted Just Answer back in April 2018 with a question regarding a computer virus. Evidently, he thought he was getting "free" assistance. Unfortunately, he was charged $46 per month - apparently since April 2018 for ONE QUESTION. He is in an Assisted Living Community and we figured this out after taking over his bill paying (recently). Your tactics are extremely deceptive. I attempted to cancel the membership today - will certainly NOT be paying any future charges, should the cancellation NOT be accepted. I will work with AMEX to try to get past payments refunded. Thanks - JUST ANSWER!!

JustAnswer Response • May 13, 2020

Hello Will,
We're sorry for the confusion about the good faith deposit. An initial $5 deposit is required at the time the question is posted and the balance of the question price is collected once an Expert responds to the question. This information regarding the deposit is displayed on the page where the customer is prompted to submit their payment details and questions are posted only when the customer acknowledges and accepts the payment terms. An Expert responded to your question which is why you received a charge for the balance due, however, the Expert isn't paid unless you’re satisfied with the help received and rate the service accordingly. That is what the phrase, ""you don't pay unless satisfied"" refers to. An overview of this process can be found on the How It Works page here: http://ww2.justanswer.com/how-justanswer-works
That said, we'd need the email your father used to sign up for JustAnswer. Please reach out to us privately at [email protected] . Alternatively, you can reach out to our Help Center at https://www.justanswer.com/help/contact-us . Thanks! Best regards, JustAnswer Customer Care Team

This is a waste of money and effort. Tried to answer the emails they sent to me and got mail demons...Could not contact them back. Tried to call and was told that I had to pay another 26 dollars to try and talk with anybody. Never got call back, never got answer to questions. Tried to explAin the trouble we were having to miscommunication, but their response just lead me to believe they could not answer my question because this is just a scam.

THIS COMPANY IS A SCAM ARTIST. THEY SUCK YOU IN FOR A LOW MONEY QUOTE AND THAN, IN SMALL PRINT, YOU ARE CHARGED +/- $50 / MO.. THEY WOULD NOT REFUND THE MONEY, I WAS UP TO $100 BEFORE I CAUGHT IT FOR UNWANTED AND UNUSED SERVICES.

Just Answer is not fair in its business practice. I thought I was paying $5 for a legal question and several days later, my credit card was billed $60. When I called (Legal-ja.com) and spoke to a lady who answered the phone, she said when I posted the $5 question, I automatically signed up for a monthly membership fee of $60/month. When I explained to her that there was no such thing as a membership sign up, it was simply a legal question I asked, which said I would have to pay $5 for the question to which I did. After the question, it asked if I would like to consult with an attorney for $50 more, to which I declined. There was never anything about a membership for $60 a month. She said she cannot refund the $60 that has already been charged to my credit card, but she can cancel the membership and no future billing will be made to my credit account. From my reading of the reviews, I found that there are so many other people who got lured into the membership not knowing about it just as I did. I think Revdex.com should investigate this company and put them out of business for lure customers to unknowingly sign up for membership.

I contacted just an answer today to get legal advice regarding a landlord-tenant issue. As advertised they are Revdex.com+ rated. Highly recommended this is stated on their site. Stating they'll answer your legal question within minutes after posting your question. I posted my question around 7:46 pm CST and it was 9:20 PM and no answer not even an attorney to match my concern. I called back and the customer care person acted as if she was stalling to help me with this problem. She kept asking about my phone number which this is what I signed up with. Then I gave her my email address. She wasn't of any help but to repeat what the last customer care said she'll do was to escalate my question. But still no answer from an attorney regarding the landlord-tenant issue I am dealing with. I paid $5 for membership trial to be treated this way. I started to this woman refund my money since they're unable to locate me an attorney plus false advertising that I'll get an answer on demand. I want the public to know how false this agency really is. But it is glad to take your money but provides no service if you don't stay on top of it yourself.

ZERO STARS. They promptly processed my credit card to collect their fee, but then abandoned me completely. I have been unable to reach them by phone, I get no responsive assistance from their Chat box - when I press for an answer to my technical question the box says that the agent has left the room. I did get a reply to an email in which they stated that customer care is their number one priority, but did nothing to address the fact that after more than 24 hours I still have nor received even the acknowledgement of my technical question.

I agree with the other complaints. I agreed to pay $1 for an answer. They then billed me $46 a week later for a "monthly membership" that I never agreed to, do not want, and disputed via my credit card issuer. CitiBank is refunding the $46 as "deceptively charged," but I fear that these pirates will keep the money and be encouraged to keep deceiving people.

Terrible! I called to find a vet to answer a question about my dogs problem. 24 hours I'm still waiting for an answer. Customer service could only escalate my problem to urgent which did nothing. I finally took my dog to a real vet. Disappointment and waste of time. I'm cancelling the service.

I got charged $5.00 for service I did not receive a few days ago. I solved the problem myself and via text by iPhone informed the tech I did not require assistance and cancel my request for technical help. Now a few days I did not click on the acceptance of the service. I skipped it. I week later I was charged $46.00 for the monthly membership. I'll be calling them a demanding a refund tomorrow on Monday, May 4,2020.

Scam artists! Slick and slimy snakes!

I paid $5 for a one week trial on 4/26. I cancelled my membership on 5/3 on the 7th day. The took $46 out of my account today!
The representative stated that the terms and conditions specify I had to cancel BEFORE the 7th day.

To me, it is really a 6 day trial.

The refused to refund my money and said I should have read it better.

I am appalled that the Revdex.com gives them accreditation. It is sickening.

JustAnswer Response • May 05, 2020

Hello Jennifer,
Thank you for reaching out.
It looks like you accepted a free trial of our membership program. At the end of the trial, the membership bills automatically to avoid disruptions in service. It is evident that you did not intend to continue with the membership after the trial ended, so as a courtesy I have refunded all of your membership charges. I have turned the membership billing off and you will not receive any further recurring charges.
The recent charge made to your card has been canceled. The funds are made available to your bank the next business day, however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy.
We look forward to your reply and hope that we have resolved your concerns.

asked ONE question online for $5.00 about our hot water. I am a full time caregiver for my husband (palliative care at home, stage 4) and 89 yr old mother(dementia/alzheimers). I am the full time, live in PSW, nurse, cook, housekeeper, repairman, cleaner etc for two people . I explained all of this to JUST ANSWER who charged me $280 (7 x $40 membership fees) unknown to me. I called to ask that they remove the $280 fee (no one is working or bringing in income) which I was not aware of. They have agreed to cancel the membership , which I was NOT aware of when I asked ONE question (Sept 2019) and which I was given an incorrect answer. It was not explained to me, nor did I see anything when asking my ONE question that would advise that there would be a regular membership fee...$280 for a $5. question which was not correct. JUST ANSWER offered to give a $160. Credit only (supvervisor that goes by DIFFERENT names). She advised they CANNOT give refunds for memberships fees unless done in 7 days???? How would I do that when I wasn't told of membership fees? I never would have asked a question if I had know. For $5. though, I took my chances. Please advise this company to CLEARLY STATE THAT IF ONE QUESTION IS ASKED FOR $5. THEY WILL BE TIED TO A $40/MONTH CHARGE FOR MEMBERSHIP!!!! This is NOT right and people like myself are being ripped off. This is not a FAIR price to ask a senior looking after seniors.

Complaint: 14***

I am rejecting this response because: They advised that they charged me 7 months x $40 for a $5.00 one time question. Nowhere did I know that they would charge a membership fee...from what I have learned, they charge anywhere from $16 to $46 /month and no one knows when they ask their question . It took me a while to even agree to pay $5.00...I am always so careful not to get caught up in hidden charges. I have not asked any further questions, so, ONE question $5.00. I think this company should make it CLEAR to all how they work! I was researching diy fixes for a tankless hot water error code and their site popped up on its own. They should be ashamed of how they rope people in, then charge whatever they want without being transparent about their 'ongoing fees' which I cannot afford and should not have to pay. I am a full time caregiver for my husband (stage 4 cancer) and my 89 yr old mother. I am not paid and this is a 24/7 job which is why I try to fix everything I possibly can on my own. I believe that a full membership credit should be credited back to my account. If necessary, I will agree to pay $40 which will cover ONE MONTH for my ONE QUESTION, the answer provided was not even correct.
Sincerely,

G*** M

I called to ask a question and they sent a $1.00 charge for 1 week. The information went to my junk mail back on 8/27/2019.
They have been billing me $40.00 a month since 8/19 until 4/30/2020. They can see that I have not used there service yet they cant refund any portion of the $540.00 that I have been charged.

This company is a ripoff it should not be allowed to continue and they should send messages or call customer notifying them of their gimmick charges because they cant earn money without their deceptive practices.

I am rejecting this response because:

Although this company feels refunding $40.00 even though they have charged me $540.00 without doing one thing to earn that money other than I made the dumb mistake of think they were an ethical and honest.

*** PLEASE UNDERSTAND THIS UNETHICAL UNDERHAND COMPANY THINKS THIS FRAUDULENT CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR IS OKAY FOR A BUSINESS MODEL

PLEASE allow me to give the Revdex.com an example of what is playing out all over the US right now.

Some innocent unsuspecting Mom or Father goes online and ask one question and gives there credit card to be charged $1.00.

They get sick and the receipt goes to junk mail. Virus or not that individual will not see this charge. They need hospitalization so they never get back to that computer this company believes its okay to charge and never give another monthly notice of any kind. What if the person dies, this company still believes its is okay for them to continue to bill that credit card until someone realize this is a bad charge not to mentioned a fraudulent and deceitful way to deal with anyone. Let say the person has been dead for 2 years and billed $960.00. This company feels that they can bill the dead or anyone even if they have not provide any service and that's fraud and morally wrong on so many levels. In the above scenario a refund if requesting would not be given by this company.

Any ethical business that do not need to use trickery and deception to hood wink customers would check there records see that no services have been render and give a refund. I know this sound simple to an honest business man. This company can't do that because they are dishonest and feel that the are protected in their thievery enterprise. I lived in California and its one of the most progressive states in America these dishonest business practices should be stop immediately and made to adhere to a code of ethics. You can't charge people to do nothing it not fair its dishonest and a deceitful business model.

Sincerely,

G*** A

I am rejecting this response because:

Your company is assuming perfection and your not. Your company is assuming that your email will never go to any ones junk mail or spam which tells me you are incapable of fairness, or clueless or just don't understand what it means to be ethical.

Revdex.com, would someone please give this clueless organization that in the real world some emails go to spam or junk. So you expect me and the powers that be at the Revdex.com to believe that your emails never go to spam or junk folder. Respectfully, if this were true you would notify people every month and I suspect the reason you don't is you know if you did you would not have revenue because the only way you can have a customer is through your deceitful practices.

Do you really believe that anyone thinks that your company is doing the right thing during this pandemic?

Okay, how many other people did you bill this month and you let them know you billed them? Do you think that your company can survive being so dishonest?

Do you really expect me to believe I'm the only person you hoodwinked?

The truth is your company do not have a clue how to really make sure you gain and keep a client because you are actually afraid to contact them after your first email?

Please tell me that's not true?

And I suspect if that were true you could look at your records and see that I have never asked you but one question?

However, that is not possible since you operated under the disguise of being a legitimate business and I say their is nothing about your dishonest practices that is remotely legitimize with the way you operate. A fair and reputable company would sent out a bill and not be afraid like you? Do you think that its okay to deceive, cheat and steal as long as your not caught?

Sincerely,
