Beware Scammers!!! Charged my CC when I never received service. The charge is reoccurring.
Was doing the $5 chat when a popup asked if I wanted to talk. I said yes, then the next popup said it was a premiere service. I immediately chatted to the lawyer that I would not accept a call. He said he does not call. So other lawyers were trying to get in on the action. My phone then started ringing. I cancelled about 5 calls without answering. My CC company then called to report scam activity on my account.
I put a dispute on the charge, and I'm currently cancelling my CC so they cannot continue to steal from me.
BEWARE OF THIS SERVICE. THEY ARE SCAMMERS.

Friggin scam artists. I never used thier service but I checked credit card statement and realized they charged me 66.00. I had to look the description of the charge on the internet to find out who it was. Find out they have charged me 3x. She had no name or email address but could only confirm that they were charging me 66.00 monthly since January. She credited my credit card she said for 2 of 3 months. That remains to be seen as I have to wait 3 to 5 business days. And I can not get the refund for January. I never ever used this site or had knowledge of the charges. Stupid me for not looking a credit card Bill's every month. And I query how is this even legal?!!!
I have a different complaint than the rest -- I signed up to speak to a Urologist, and while the doctor person I spoke to was extremely nice and helpful, after following the link to his profile, it turned out that he was an oncologist, not a urologist; JustAnswer just listed him as the specialty I wanted. Especially for a medical question, I find this highly unethical.
Google is free - these guys are a rip off! got charged $60.00 for one question, bogus answear.
Won't refund any of it.
Hello Arthur,
Thanks for letting us know about this. We're sorry for any confusion about the payment for the site.
There are a lot of free sources of information on the internet but JustAnswer is not one of them. The fees charged for using the service are used to compensate the verified Experts that respond to customer questions. It also means that we do not need to sell your information to third parties, like many other companies, and we do not bombard you with advertising, like many free sites.
The membership charge amount and information is presented to all customers on the payment page prior to entering any billing information. After the question is posted and the membership is agreed to, we send a receipt E-mail, as well as a payment reminder E-mail, 3-days prior to the recurring billing. The membership bills at the end of the 7-day trial in order to avoid an interruption in service.
In looking at your account we can confirm that your membership was turned off and the most recent membership charge on the account has been refunded. You can come back at any time to post additional questions but you will be asked to post a deposit on a question by question basis moving forward.
Please reach out to us if you need any further assistance and we're happy to help in any way we can.

I signed up for a one week trial period. I asked the question and received an answer, however the answer proved not to be correct when I started on the repair. I canceled the account the same day I opened it. I got an email reminder that it would be time to renew the subscription on the 19th. I went online again and canceled on the 17th. When I checked my account on the 20th, they had charged me for another month. Be aware of this site, not only was the information they provided incorrect, but it is difficult to cancel as well.

There's no actual business that goes on here, it's scamming pure and simple.
If I could give them 0 stars, I would. They buried the fact that I was going to be charged automatically after my free trial deep in the terms and conditions and wasted a boatload of my time when I contacted them. They didn’t help at all. If there’s a company I feel is manipulative, shady, and can’t be trusted, it’s this one. Extremely displeased. Would recommend going to a real doctor where you know what you will actually be charged before you buy. Overall a 0 star company in my opinion.
this website justanswer.com is deceptive. They charged me $60 after a 7 day trial membership that was never made clear to me and that I never agreed to. They are very sneaky and they steal your money. I think the Revdex.com should seriously investigate this website. justanswer.com does not deserve an A+ rating. I think your rating this website an A+ is very misleading to consumers. With a company with as many complaints as this website has do they really deserve an A+ rating? I doubt it. Shame on this website justanswer.com. Anyone who is considering it I would advise to stay away. They are crooks.
I find this is a HUGH SCAM - I paid for a ONE TIME ONLY service, and have just discovered multiple charges on my account for a membership. There were never any notifications of any kind about my membership starting - I have been on their webisite for 45 minutes going in circles with the "robot answers" and because I was charged DOUBLE when I didn't agree to it I would lie a refund but they will not do it, even though I never got an emailing stating my trial was over NOR was any of my questions answered AT ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you make it so I can leave them 0 stars - their customer service and what seems to be cheating ways is not appreciated... Almost as bad as a Pyramid Scheme
The good part is that I got a reasonable answer, pretty quickly. The negatives:
1) They offer a "free trial" which requires a $1 charge to credit card - so they gather your credit card info up front. They do state it will go to $50/month after the trial period and you can cancel before that. However, they make you go through more steps than is reasonable in order to cancel (requiring you to explain via chat and then explain again in their form, and constantly asking if you have another question, to get you to keep using the service.
2) The process for getting an answer includes providing phone number so they can text you. The text message then says you will get a phone call popup offering to continue via phone for more money, that the expert did not send it, and that you should not click on it. It further directs you to stop using texting and go to the website (where I already was)!
3) I asked the expert about the site because it felt scammy to me. There was a long delay with no response so I wrote a followup asking for an answer and also saying I looked for the feedback/rating where he told me and could not find it. The expert then accused me of not following directions, of being on text and that you can tell when someone is on text because they are nasty. He walked it back when I pushed back - I was on laptop and had followed instructions.
So in spite of getting a reasonable answer to my original question, I felt increasingly uncomfortable with the supposed honesty of the site. This was ironic because my question had to do with the legitimacy of another online company.
my 87-year old father was scammed into giving them $1 for advice, then subsequently was charged a monthly fee of $46. He never agreed to a monthly service. Once I found out I cancelled the membership, but was refused a refund of $46. Several hours later in that same day he was charged another fee for supposedly "remote" help with his computer that he never asked for. When I called again - the customer service agent immediately voided the fee. this operation is a complete SCAM!
I used Just Answer just once in 01-21-2020. They charged me $5.00 for trial. I canceled the same day and when I received my bank statement, they had charged me $50.00. No one explained this fee to me and when to cancel. I filed a complaint with them on 03/20/2020 & asked for a refund of my $50.00 & spoke with Leigh. I thought it was all taken care of & never heard from them again. When I received my April 5, 2020, bank statement, they had taken out another $50.00 dated March 11, 2020, and also took out another $50.00 on March 30, 2020. Thank God I had enough money in my account or I would have been facing bank charges also. I phoned them again, and funny as it is, they had no record of my cancellation call and charged me another $50.00.
This web site/company is a total scan and once they have you hooked, they just won't let anyone cancel. Apparently they alter customer records as they please. I want all my money back which now totals $155.00. If we the people do not fight back, they (the so-called legitimate companies).will bankrupt us, the people, while they make a fortune from innocent people.
Hello,
Thank you for contacting JustAnswer.
As a courtesy, we have processed two of your membership charges of $50 each made on 1/25/20 and 2/25/20. The funds are made available to your bank the next business
day, however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to
your account depending on their policy.

I am rejecting this response because: I trusted this company to be fair and honest, which they were not with me. They needed to explain fully the consequences of not canceling in their allotted time. When I phoned for an explanation, they had no record of my numerous phone calls. What happened to those phone calls? I believed that I was speaking to a real person. I was very disappointed in their lack of consideration for their customer and their lack of information of their rules.
Sincerely,
M*** S
Hello M,
Thank you for response.
When you came to the website on 1/18/2020 to
post the Phone system question you had also opted into the membership program. The
memberships program allows you to ask multiple questions a month to any of the
verified Experts on the site, for one monthly fee.
We are very upfront on our sign up page. When you enter your personal and credit card information on the sign up page, you are confirming that you have read and agreed to our terms and services.
We're so sorry for
any confusion. Some of the calls are recorded for quality purposes. We,
however, do not record every call as a matter of practice. If your call happens to be recorded, they do expire and will automatically deleted.
If you have further questions, please let us know.

Your advertising and the knowledge of your representative was not explained to me very accurately. We would never have signed up for a continuous program just to get ONE ANSWER especially when your answer did nothing
to solve our problem at that time. I would hope that you would refund all my monies, It's too bad that when someone complains about your customer service and the answer that we received, you must make up excuses for yourself
and blame the customer. Be honest and upfront with anyone who uses your website. M S
AVOID AT ALL COST! I Took the bait and asked an initial question and received a generic, worthless answer. Cancelled my "trial membership". They did not cancel and instead charged me recurring fees for services I did not use. RIP OFF!
BAIT AND SWITCH. It charges $5 upfront and then charged me $35 without authorization, not the $29 advertized and not authorized. I would give them 0 stars if possible
They kicked customers out because they couldn't answer the questions!
I signed up for their 7-day for $1 trial. It started on April 13 but their website showed April 14. Poor record to begin with. I should have known what's coming.
I asked my first question with a quick ok answer. I asked a few more questions the next day. One of the questions was TurboTax related which was not answered satisfactorily in term of how to enter the info. So, I posted the question again for "software expert input". The "expert" gave me a Google-searched answer! I asked a follow up question and never got a reply. I gave a 1-star review.
Today, I got a refund of my $1 and my membership was cancelled! I did not request to cancel my membership. I thought my account was hacked. I called to ask who did that and they gave me at first a vague lousy answer saying that I requested it but later said that the "expert" was "under the impression" that I was not happy with the answer so that "expert" asked customer service to cancel my membership!
In other words, I was kicked out because they cannot answer my question!!!! No wonder that got 5-star reviews because they kicked out all the other stars! What a dishonest way of conducting business. Avoid them. You can answer your own questions better than those "experts"! I have never heard of kicking out customers because you cannot provide what you sell!
I would love to give 0 stars if I could. I sincerely hope everyone gets this information, this is truly a scam. Nescient individuals give you google-able answers to your questions and then let you go. They charged me unfairly and then said I (I'm a defense attorney) should learn to read the "terms and conditions" well and the man kept stating that I didn't because "he thinks no". They're truly avaricious and acrimonious and no one should deal with their sheer and striking ineptitude. If you want to be out of $46 then go ahead.
I am being charged for a service I did not want. I am unemployed and the company deducted $50 from my unemployment debit card which I desperately need for food. What they have done is reprehensible. I canceled this subscription but with unscrupulous companies like this I will not be surprised if they try to charge me again next month. This company should be shut down for deceptive business practices.

This outfit is a scam. My brother is a member and is in a nursing home and they won't cancel his account. I am reporting them to the NYS Attorney general. Absolutely stonewalled me when I called. No response to emails. I have written a letter to their CEO, but doubt that I will receive a response
