I googled a tax question - "chat" popped up and asked me for more info. then lead me to believe that I would be directed to a professional - then a window popped up saying it would be $5... I paid the money - then another window popped up saying if I paid a monthly membership I would get a faster response - I declined - then another window popped up and said it would be at least 30 minutes before I got an answer.

I had the same bad experience others here have described. Justanswer offered an online doctor for me. The price was clearly stated as $5; there was a higher price for talking directly by phone, but I didn't choose that option. The doctor was fine, we did Justanswer's IM for 10 minutes or so. But I just looked online at my recent *** charges. In addition to the $5 charge, there's a second charge for $29. I'm surprised that Justanswer has such such a high rating from the Revdex.com. I won't use it again.

was EXCELLENT. This was about my sister's dog who might have been inadvertently poisoned by grabbing and eating that freshness pack in a bag of dog treats. We were so relieved to learn from Dr. *** that all should be OK given the circumstances. Dr. *** asked questions about the dog and situation and responded in less than 3 minutes! What a relief given my sister was worried that she may be going to the emergency room with the dog that night. My sister was so happy and her dog, ***, is doing just fine. was amazing! He was very patient and explained everything in easy to understand terminology. He was especially helpful when he found out he was talking plumbing with a woman. He was not at all condescending and even encouraged me. I would like to add that I took his advice and solved my plumbing problems!!!! Absolutely will be back!
Service is too expensive. I paid $47 to receive help with 15 math problems. That's ridiculous!

In looking at your account it does appear that the total out of pocket cost was less than the amount quoted here and you can actually continue working with the tutor if you have any other clarifying questions regarding the material that you've covered.
The Expert also worked with you for a little over 2 hours to resolve the quantitative reasoning math questions that you were having trouble with. We do believe that the cost of the service is in-line with and even cheaper than a comparable service offered by other providers and you have the convenience of being able to post these questions and receive assistance from home or work.

I am trying to find a way for my elderly sister to qualify for Medi-cal. I searched the web for some relevant info that would help my case. I did not succeed. Then I looked for help services on this topic. I tried JustAnswer. They found exactly the substantial web site I needed. I applaud their special capabilities.

My experience with JustAnswer was positive and I will use it again. Not looking more carefully at the 'sliding' amount to offer - I paid just a bit too much [based on my personal income level] but, even so, I consider the dollars well spent. There is nothing like having an experienced man or woman to offer clear direction when a DYI project gets unexpectedly complicated for a basic aspect of it. In this case, I needed a simple additional fact - and then the rest of the way was smooth sailing; without it, I'd still be hopelessly frustrated and considering a $1000. repair. The expert was engaged, helpful, and knew what he was talking about; oh, and his response was almost immediate - even to additional questions. It was an excellent experience.

I wanted to ask a labor law question. It stated that it was only $5.00. Then I got charged $46.00 that is sneaky. I ask for a refund. I will never again use this site. Not a good way to do business.

Very good information on what might be causing our cat's condition. I was able to take new info to our regular vet.
Absolutely wonderful. Dr. Nicole was a joy to work with to answer my question about my cat, my baby boy. She was very friendly, thorough, kind and patient -- everything you could ever ask for in a vet, especially when you are concerned in the middle of the night.

I received prompt, thorough, and professional advice which enabled me to formulate a plan of action to resolve my issue.
I asked for help with my dishwasher. They take $5 immediately on the CC and then $23 when an expert answers. First though they try to sell monthly memberships. About 12 hours after my request they apologized that an expert hadn't answered yet and asked if I wanted to cancel. I took the hint and cancelled. They then said I could request a refund of my 5$ on-line. Seems to me they should automatically refund the money since they didn't provide the service they were advertising. Then when I went on-line they said I had to call to get my lousy 5$. What nonsense. I just disputed the charge on my CC.

The reason that the refund is not processed immediately, if you haven't received a reply, is that in a majority of cases, customers are still looking for a reply and we can continue to look for an Expert to pick up your question. If a refund is processed immediately then the question is closed and no Expert can respond. In looking at your account I can see that we have indeed processed a refund for all of the charges the same day that they were authorized and you should see the credit back to your card in the next 3-5 business days at the most.

Asked a question about extending number of rings on a land line telephone. They advised that I would have to join and my first question would be $5.00. After I submitted the question they came back and asked me to call them with an additional $28.00 charge. Is this a scam or what?

I would just like to make you aware that this company engages in deceptive business practices and overall horendous customer service. I sent in a question yesterday at 6:50pm regarding some home stereo issues. The site said that I would receive a reply by 30 minutes. I also signed up for a basic membership. I received an e-mail saying that my basic membership was upgraded to premium membership as long as I had the basic subscription. I continued to check for an answer many times for well over an hour. The site had an "estimated answer time", always, of 8 minutes. After several hours I contacted the people their who said they were putting this on "priority" but they couldn't say that response would be forthcoming anytime soon. Then why tell me 30 minutes and CONTINUALLY tell me that there was an 8 minute estimates response time? The person from answers just kept on writing that there was no definitive answer time. When I pointed out that their site indicated otherwise the person just answered the same and placed me on hold. I checked at that time and found that my credit card had been charged $5 and another $31 charge. I then went to another computer and sent the same question in anonymously and received a response that there was a technician "immediately" available as long as I paid the price as indicated. I then contacted the "customer care" person to complain that I have been waiting for an answer for several hours and yet here, when I placed the same question anonymously, it indicated that there was a technician "immediately" available to answer my question. Their person then said that they were getting me over to a "customer care" person to address my issue! They then put me on hold and never answered! I then went to another customer care screen and another person came on and gave me more excuses. I cancelled any membership but wanted an answer. This morning I checked the site several times and finally received a text at 12:04 pm to say that my question ahd been answered and the tech was available. I then went to the site and when I tried to hook up with the tech, I received a message saying that I could talk to him on the phone for $26. I then sent a question to him as to whether this was in addition to the $5 and $31 dollars that I was already charged. I never receved a reply over the next 20 minutes. I then tried to chat with a "customer care" representative but chat was "unavailable" and they suggested I send a message and await a reply. I called the number instead and told the rep on the phone that I found their service horrendous and demanded a full refund.
IF the company indicated that their could be a substantial response time and IF the company did not continually indicate that there was an estimated wait time of 8 minutes over the course of several hours and IF their customer care people were decent and didn't try to brush me off and IF there own site didn't say that there was a technician "immediately" available to answer the same question and IF phone charge nonsense did not show up and the technitian actually tried to address my concerns, then maybe I might consider their business practice above board. But none of that was the case.
Thank you Revdex.com! I hope. I, too, ended up asking an IT question about a Microsoft product. Justanswer pops open a window that says your answer will be ready in 8 minutes, after 8 minutes, it again said, my answer will be ready in 8 minutes. The next day I received an e-mail that it appeared my question had been waiting and, do I still need an answer. I clicked no, and chalked it up to a scam, lost 5 dollars. Was so pleased they deleted the charge. Only my eagle-eyed husband caught the membership charge and asked me about it. Tried to reply to one of their many e-mails, they actually listed an e-mail for customer service...don’t bother, Gmail bounced back that my message couldn’t be sent. Thank you Revdex.com, Using the info you provided, I was able to contact a customer service human being, requested cancellation and deletion of all charges. They supposedly did and sent an e-mail confirmation. Waiting to see if it is actually refunded on card. Will file complaint if not refunded. Thank you for the “heads-up” provided by comments below, about other fraudulent charges. I’ll be watching. But, will probably cancel the card, and have to transfer all of our auto-pay services to a new account, what a hassle and a scam.
