Just Answer has been deducting through Visa $66.00 per month from my TD Bank Account claiming that I am a member. I have never joined Just Answer and don't even know who they are or how to get in touch with them. I have never inserted my Visa number online.

JustAnswer Response • Apr 15, 2020

Hello P,

Thank you for reaching out and I apologize for any frustrations we have caused.

I found an account and it looks like you asked a question last November about your computer being hacked? We can certainly understand any concern you have with regards to your charges, and we’d like to take a little time to explain things for you. After reviewing your account, it would appear that you had signed up to participate in our 7-Day Free Trial. When the trial concluded on (Expected first payment date), and in order to prevent interruption to your service, your account was billed for a membership.

It is evident that you did not intend to continue with the membership after the trial ended, so as a courtesy I have refunded all of your membership charges. I have turned the membership billing off and you will not receive any further recurring charges.I have issued a refund for five membership payments of $66.00 each. The funds are made available to your bank the next business day, however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy.Again, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. I hope that I've been able to resolve this issue to your satisfaction.

Regards,The JustAnswer Customer Care Team

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 14***, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

$5 dollar give it a try is just a bait and switch. I was unaware that I would be signed up for a monthly $37 charge. I see other suckers have paid $50 a month.

I received 4 months of $60 charges plus 5 fifty cent charges the first month and had never heard of this company. I called the number that was listed on my credit card account and the man I talked with wanted my phone number to check it out. He came back and said I had ask a question about something about a 1960 gold trim something (the phone call was a bad connection and I only heard part of the explanation). I have no Idea what he was talking about because I would nave not ask that question because I have nothing that is a 1960 anything that is gold trim. I don't know how they came up with my phone number or credit card number. They did cancel my membership but would not refund my money. Beware of this company!!!!

Predatory company. Offer a service for $1, then charge more later for a "membership" that you didn't authorize. Service and question was answered...business practices get an "F" do not do business with these guys !!

I recently discovered a recurring charge to my business credit card of $46/mo for over a year from Just Answer. Since I had not authorized this charge, I contacted them. They claimed that I asked a question regarding use of Microsoft Office 365 for mail merge. This is preposterous given that I am very knowledgeable on using that software for the purpose they claim I contacted them for. Moreover, the subsequent monthly $46 bill was for a "service" that can be readily obtained for free using Google, Reddit, Microsoft. I did not access this "service" for the entire year.

I am rejecting this response because: This is a customer service issue. I should not need to work through your legal department to handle a customer service issue. If your legal department wishes to weigh in with evidence regarding your company's apparent fraudulent receipt of my credit card information and subsequent charging of my credit card then please feel free to. Again I ask, how did you obtain my credit card information? I am owed the remaining $503 dollars taken from me after your token refund of 3 of the 14 months charged.

Sincerely,

P*** S

Once again, for any payment authorizations JustAnswer requires the security code from your credit card in order to ensure that the person authorizing the transaction is the physical card holder.

As our terms of service state, membership payments are not refundable, but as a courtesy to you, we refunded the three most recent membership payments for you.If you do need to speak to the Legal department, you can do so by mail at the below contact address:LegalPO Box 29045San Francisco, CA 94129-0045

I seemingly was directed to this website by a site next to an Apple website where I was attempting log on and did not remember that my password was the same for the two Apps.

I signed on to this website and saw that I would be charged a completely refundable $1 for asking for help. So I chatted and got the answer: Same pass word. Today, just two days later I was a charge for $46. This is not acceptable and is a bait and switch tactic

I have never felt so mistreated in my entire life by someone who claims to be a professional. I contacted this company to see if they had financial advice they could help me out with. So I signed up with the company, put in my original question with all of the facts that I had done so far to help out with my situation, basically making this my last resort. My husband & I are trying to adopt, and it is EXTREMELY difficult on all aspects. We got married a year early to start the process sooner than later, because we are getting older and would like to start a family now. Oh, and we have been trying now for almost a year! Dr. Finoa Chen was the CPA that decided to reply back. She immediately wanted a rating on her services???? All she said was save money....well no duh! We all know that, I'm asking advice from you to see if we can maybe get a loan from some company that we just didn't know about! Then she asked how much debt are we in from the wedding? Well, we're not because we just had a judge meet us and marry us in a little secret garden for $75. She replied with "Well, I'm going to opt out because if you can't afford a wedding, how are you going to afford adoption?!" I told her we were trying to speed up the process by getting married now, rather than in a year (which is already paid for). I then explain to her that I feel like she is judging me, and how I feel like a piece of garbage for asking advice. She than replies with that she isn't judging, but this is a reality check?! WHAT A PIECE OF WORK YOU ARE CHEN! YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!

all this company did was scam me ..I paid and got no reply...

I got my answer but they apparently give you a 7 day free trail membership. If you do not call and cancel it they will charge the monthly membership fee. In my case it was $28. Apparently this is buried in the fine print. Not clear at all. Very deceptive. I called and tried to get a refund and it was refused. A $5 answer cost me $33. I DO NOT RECOMMEND DOING BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE!

I paid for the trial of $5 and spoke with lawyer who gave great answer. Then I noticed my charge card was charged $46 for monthly membership which I did not order. With all I had on my mind with the coronavirus I overlooked cancelling within 7 days. I complained several times to them about the $46 charge & they refused to refund because I didn't call to cancel after the trial period. Then while emailing my credit card & Just Answer I notice another $46 charge on my credit card stateme I told them to refund that & they said they can't cancel a charge but feel free to ask questions till May 2.

Customer service refused to cancel the $60 membership charge even though I cancelled on the 5th day of the 7 day free trial and had only wanted to get one question answered for $5. Sneaky subscription companies like this are immoral.

The answer to my question was crap too.

I feel very deceived - I paid for a ONE TIME ONLY service, and have just discovered multiple charges on my account for a membership. There were never any notifications of any kind about my membership starting. I’m sure that somewhere, in the deep dark corners of the initial charges, a “membership agreement” was hiding. JustAnswer - despite the popularity of this business model, it is truly deceptive. You have the opportunity to be better than that. Be open and honest, with CLEAR communications about your services, and you will be better off.

This company is very rude....I did not want a membership and They took it out of my bank...I called them and tried to chat with them and the rep's were rude and would send me to a supervisor. I am quarantined at home and I need my money refunded.

Scam, I signed up for a trial for 5$ There so called professionals were unable to provide information needed. Upon signing for trial period statement that they would email prior to billing the 60$ membership fee, this never happened! I called they stated sorry to late and they stated they sent email which I never received. Wish I would have read all of these complaints on this Revdex.com page first. How is it they have a A+ rating and all I see is the same complaints that I have on here?

Although I only paid $1.00 to be connected to an expert, with an advertised wait time of up to ten minutes, I was very disappointed when 6+ hours latter my expert called me. If I had waited on the phone that long for the expert on programming a new phone, I would need a different expert - how to be admitted to the mental ward. What kind of business model is this? Take the money, put the customer on hold, five minutes later, if the customer has't hung up, keep the money and CANCEL THE ORDER.. Order#23195949-276.
Edward M. Silver

Very pleased. Received a response and several follow up responses within 10 minutes of asking a question

Very friendly. I asked a question and had my answer in minutes. I did a lot of research on line and could not get the information I needed. So, I gave JustAnswer a shot. Should have gone there first and saved a lot of time.
