Beware of automatic billing after trial period. I paid a dollar for a trial membership, and my question was answered in a generic form. Not specific enough to address the problem. On top of that discovered after the 7 day trial period that my credit card was charged 34 dollars for a membership I did not want. Of course they did not want to refund the $34 after calling to cancel after discovering the charge a week and half later.

Hello Rodney,
Thanks for letting us know about this. We're sorry for any confusion about the payment for the site.
The membership charge amount and information is presented to all customers on the payment page prior to entering any billing information. After the question is posted and the membership is agreed to, we send a receipt E-mail, as well as a payment reminder E-mail, 3-days prior to the recurring billing. The membership bills at the end of the 7-day trial in order to avoid an interruption in service.
In looking at your account we can confirm that your membership was turned off and the most recent membership charge on the account has been refunded. You can come back at any time to post additional questions but you will be asked to post a deposit on a question by question basis moving forward.

I saw an ad for justanswer while I was doing research for a sponsorship issue on google. The ad said $5 for a 7 day trial to ask an immigration lawyer/expert any question you may have. I thought ok, that's pretty reasonable. I paid the fee and asked my question. Some time passes and no answer. I used the online customer chat with Pearl to find out when I could expect an answer. I was thinking it would happen immediately as they advertised having 2 immigration experts on hand at the time I asked my question with the immigration assistant. The answers I recieved were vague and no estimated time was given for my answer. This raised a red flag for me and I checked reviews on google for justanswer. Lo and behold I see the complaints on here. I immediately tried contacting them again through their online customer service chat service. I also went into my account settings and cancelled my account. Several times I was booted out of the chat before I could speak with a supervisor to get my refund issued for the $5. The last time I tried to use their chat I was put on wait to speak with a supervisor for almost 1 hour, twice. At this time the expert contacted me with her answer. I was pretty upset and getting worried about how money this company could be scamming me. I told the expert what happened and that I did not want to use her services. She got a little upset with me, denied that there were complaints on the Revdex.com website and refused to check them when I insisted. I eventually stopped responding to her as she was not professional, got more aggressive and simply could not understand my situation. I want my money back, I want my credit card removed from this company's database forever. I am paranoid now that my credit and money is at risk of theft. I have enough things to worry about as my husband lives in Turin, Italy in the midst of the coronavirus. I feel duped and taken advantage of and I feel even worse after dealing with their "expert".

I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.

I went to theur website seeking legal advice that I was told was five dollars and nothing else. I wasn't satisfied with the advice given, additionally I was charged for a membership I never authorized. I contacted the merchant and the supervisor to request a refund which is an option on the automated system. The manager refused me and so im writing the Revdex.com to force one.

my *** speaker glitched while playing on YouTube. I paid the $1 they wanted to find someone to help me fix the problem. when they found the expert, he said if I hook up the speaker to the computer he would fix it for $39. I thought it was too much money so I closed the page. He contacted me by text anyway on March 3rd. On March 8, I texted "stop" to their services. Today, March 13th, I see that they charged my account $50.WW

Hello *** I am with the customer care team at JustAnswer. I received a copy of your complaint filed through the Revdex.com and I’d like to help with your concerns. Firstly, I am sorry for any problems you have experienced with our site. After checking your account, I can see that you signed up for the discounted 7 day trial membership. As with any membership or subscription trial, if you do not cancel before the end of the trial, you will automatically be charged for your first month to avoid any disruption in service. Additionally, we send out emails welcoming you to the membership and an email is sent before your trial is ending. Although your payment is not eligible for a refund under our terms of service, as a courtesy to you I can see that we have already refunded the membership payment for you. The funds would have been made available to your bank the next business day, however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy. I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help. Best regards, JustAnswer Customer Care

I did the 5 day trial for the JustAnswer. I cancelled it on the 4th day and today I was charged $46. I've emailed and complained asking for a refund and was told that I was not allowed a refund. I called and was also told, too bad, no refunds. Now I've been on hold for over an HOUR. An HOUR to talk to a supervisor. I don't want this service. I didn't want this service and I cancelled within the time frame. I want a refund. This is bad business.

Hello Diana,
Thank you for getting in touch with us about this. We apologize for the confusion on our end.
In looking at the account tied to the E-mail address that you provided the Revdex.com, it appears that your account was used several times, and then cancelled and refunded almost 9 months ago, in June of 2019.
We can see that you have recently logged into your account, however, there are no recent changes or use of this account and we have no direct contact from you outside of the cancellation request from 9 months ago.
If you have any other recent charges or activity that you're seeing, please reach out to our Customer Care team.

JustAnswer Customer Care

I Cancelled my subscription, was told I had 29 more days of paid, active membership. I could not remove my credit card info and asked them to do it for me. They obliged without further discussion. I tried to use my membership and was denied. When I asked customer service for help, they said my account was Deactivated when my credit card was deleted (despite being paid through to the next month). They would not issue me a refund not reactivate my account nor offer any other fair solution. I submitted this to my credit card company for assessment as the membership fee is still pending without the membership being honored.

This company advertises that you can post a legal question for five dollars. I went ahead and paid the five dollars got a response but not a very clear one. The larger issue is that nowhere is it mentioned that they automatically sign you up for a membership and charge $45.00. I never signed anything nor did I consen. Needless to say I'm still on the phone with customer service. This company is a scam.

Scammers,

Do not sign up with them. They lure you with $5 Fee and the credit card numbers and keep charging even after you cancel.

I clicked on the website in error, when searching for a different website, thinking it was related to the canon website I was looking for. Chat came up saying they could help, so went for it. Then asked for a dollar. Thought a little weird. But only a dollar. Unfortunately paid then one week later received a charge on my credit card for $74.00. I called. Said they would cancel my service but couldn’t refund my money. Because it was over 7 days. The trail period was over, and service not cancelled within 7 days. Supposedly all of the charges were explained at the time of service. I swear that it wasn’t. But no proof.
Very bad business practices. Very happy to cancel a service that I will never use. They are also very happy to keep your money too.
The service I received definitely was not worth the fee charged.

On March 3rd, 2020, I asked a question about my vehicle, which is what this company provides, answers for questions. I was told it would cost around $5 to ask the question which I agreed to and was satisfied with the service received. My issue is that on 3/10/20 they deducted $34 from my account and when I called 3/11 they told me that I had signed up for a membership and hadn't cancelled within the 7 day time period which I had absolutely no knowledge about. This wasn't clearly listed when I purchased my question and I have called multiple times to cancel my "membership" and get a refund but have had no luck.. They are rude when I call and very unhelpful and their supervisors are always busy and never call you back. I have never had any intention to continue my service with them, it was just a one time thing and this is completely unfair and, side note, it caused an overdraft to my bank account costing me an additional $40... I was also told that they sent a reminder email about the trial period on the 7th of March but that's not true, I have checked all email folders to try to find it but it's not there.

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Thank you!

I don't know how I missed these charges on my statement. I called on a Sunday night for an emergency situation concerning my pet on Sept. 8 2019. I realized I'd be charge $.10. Thought that was reasonable for a company with a 5 Star rating. Never got an answer. On the same date, this was followed by 6 more $.10 charges for illnesses that I had no interest in,, and then a $29.00 membership charge. I have now been charged two more membership charges of $29 each in October and November for a total loss of $87.60. I have called the 800-240-1317 phone number in CA which has now been disconnected. I sure do hope you can help me recoup my money. My worry is that this membership charge will pop up again on a future Mastercard statement.

Hello ***

Thank you for getting in touch with us about this. We apologize for any confusion that you seem to be experiencing.

We can see that you actually contacted us almost 4 months ago, on November 25th, 2019, to cancel this membership, and the membership has been off since then.

There have been no charges processed since then and there will not be unless you come back to the site to post additional questions and authorize payment.

Do you remember contacting us 4 months ago?

Let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

Customer Response • Mar 16, 2020

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: While, Admittedly, I did not remember cancelling in November, my initial call was on 9/8. Six charges for $.10 I was charged were charged for a total of $.60 and another one timee charge of $.50 for a total of $1.00. These all occurred on 9/8/19. I did not even get a response until 24 hrs later and it was a vet emergency. I thought the $1.00 covered my call. I had no idea that I was then going to be charged $29 for membership fees on 9/15; 10/15 and 11/15 for a total of $87! What a rip off. The fact that I was automatically be charge for membership was swept under the carpet by Just Answer. This is is a fraudulent way of doing business. I don't know how I missed those membership charges on my statement but I will say I was going through a very difficult time with family health issues. Why would I want membership with something that was of absolute no help to be whatsoever. I want to be reimbursed my $87.

Sincerely

Hello ***

Once again, we apologize for any frustration, or for any confusion.

You indicated that you paid for the question but didn't receive a response for over 24 hours, however, we can see that you did receive a response form the Vet within 49 seconds, and we can see that your conversation started immediately, with the Vet (Dr. Scott) and it appears that you were exceedingly happy with the advice that he provided. You can still see the full content of the conversation if you log into your account, but we've also included a link to the conversation below:

***

Also, as we stated last time, it looks like to contacted us over 4 months ago to cancel the membership, but made no request for a refund or mentioned any dissatisfaction the service.

We're uncertain what might have changed in the intervening 4 months but the 30-day refund policy would have only covered the most recent membership charge at the time of the cancellation. We've been able to reach out to our accounting department and they have been able to issue a refund of the most recent membership charge at this time. You should also have received an E-mail notification about this refund.Your account will remain open, meaning you can still come back at any time and post questions in any category, even though your membership is cancelled. You will simply be asked to post a deposit on a question by question basis moving forward.

Please reach back out to us if you need any further assistance.

I was charged $60.00 for membership to the service in addition to the service. I had requested a service and received what I asked for and paid for what I asked for then saw a charge for membership on my bank statement . The service apparantly sent an email about membership and BECAUSE I DIDN'T ANSWER THE EMAIL WITHIN THEIR TIME FRAME I WAS AUTOMATICALLY CHARGED.
Never at any time was a memerhsip mentioned or discussed with me.

I contacted this company to get assistance with solving a starting issue with a gas furnace. After paying $5 for an expert to contact me it took 2 days( unexceptable)and still no answer, just more questions. I found help elsewhere as I needed heat then, not days later. Then after canceling I didnt notice for 2 months that they were charging me $28/month for membership. Why , they said I didnt cancel and could only refund 1 month. I explained I didnt receive any real help and didnt get any response for 2 days. Sorry but only refunding 1 month. Apparently I should have researched further as this company seems to have numerous complaints.

In my opinion, a 7 days trial is way to short.
Itnwould be a good practice to send a reminder to the futur member before charging the membership on the credit card.

I signed up to get some information on repairing a problem with my TV. The first tech made me do all of these things to my TV for over and hour. When this just caused more problems the tech refused to talk to me anymore. The second tech told me that my TV did not have the capabilities to do what I asked. I told him that it has been working fine and doing this task for two years but suddenly stopped working, he still insisted that I needed a new TV. I then contacted the TV manufacturer directly and they solved my problem.
I requested my money back from JustAnswer and they said it would be refunded in 1-3 days. It has now been a week and no refund. THIS IS A SCAM COMPANY.

JustAnswer Response • Mar 11, 2020

Hello J
Thank you for getting back to us about this. We apologize for any frustration.
We're sorry of the technicians gave you an incorrect response to the issue. The information that the technicians use is based on feedback directly from manufacturers, so there may have been a mistake in understanding the exact issue in this case.
We always recommend going to the original manufacturer for information on items that may be under warranty, or for which they still offer free support. Our service is best utilized in cases where the warranty is expired, or in cases where there is no more manufacturer support for deprecated items.
We can verify that your charge for the question was indeed refunded the same day. If you are not seeing the refund on your transaction log, please reach out to our Support team for assistance and we're happy to work with you to resolve this.
