This is a dishonest company. I cancelled my seven-day free trial on the seventh day by e-mail. I received a return e-mail that same date acknowledging my request with an apology. They charged my credit card $46.00 for a month of service and an extra $.50 for five charitable contributions that I was never asked about and never authorized. I contacted their Customer Service and the woman I spoke with, Heidi, lied to me and tried to tell me that I cancelled my membership a day later than I had. I sent them a copy of e-mail as proof of the date of my cancellation but they still refuse to refund my money. I made my cancellation in a timely manner and they acknowledged by request.
Your site promotes answering legal questions. I asked a question and then was prompted to pay. I decided to do the trial first to see how well the site worked. I promptly paid for the trial.I was told I had to wait for a lawyer to answer the question. I waited the entire trial period and there was limited to no contact regarding my question. I contacted customer service and I have the screenshots of her telling me that I need to pay full price and ask another question. So in essence my money was collected and nothing happened. There wasn’t an attempt to answer the question. I cancelled the service to avoid automatic payment after trial period. My concern is o paid $5 and after nothing. I have the screenshot of the customer service telling me that I need to pay and wait. Rude and didn’t quite care because now they have my money and I’m sure a lot of other people’s money for a trial that they do not honor.

I had a dishwasher issue in December 2019 and corresponded with the company by their website and by text with the technician who stated for me to check my water supply into the house for low water pressure. I thought I would be charged a one time fee of five dollars as was stated on the website. I did not agree to a membership etc. By the way, the issue was not addressed. I have tried on several occasions to reach the company as my card and bank account have been charged $37.00 each month for December, January, February and March 2020. I finally was able to speak to someone today who didn't speak English well, could not find my account until I had given her the first 6 and last 4 of my credit card number and said she would cancel my account but not reimburse any monies.
To date I have been charged over $100 for basically nothing. Although I cannot speak for the technicians, this company is a complete and unadulterated rip-off and should not be used by anyone who expects service. I am a retiree and this is a sham organization.

I am rejecting this response because: The most recent charge of 37.00 on March 7, 2020 is being processed by my Bank as we speak and therefore this response is INCORRECT.

I was in a very rural part of Texas when my dog started acting extremely strange late on a Friday evening. No vets around for many miles so I found JustAnswer online and decided to give it a try. I provided credit card information and payed the fee before I could ask my question. As I waited and waited while I watched my dog act completely screwed up and wondering if maybe she was poisoned and going to die, the answer never came through. Nothing ever came through from JustAnswer. The website claimed I was 8 Minutes away from next in line but as I write this today no one has ever called me or followed up on my question. Tried to get a refund from their website via chat but it conveniently kicks me off and the "Chatters" that I'm trying to chat with hastily disappear from the chat without resolve. I contacted them via phone and they stated to me that my account had not been charged however I'm looking at my online bank statement and the $29 membership has been deducted along with the initial $5 sign up fee. I want a full refund since I've never received services from Just Answer. I strongly feel this is a scam or possible a horribly ran company, not sure which one is worse.

Technically they were great in resolving my issue with a computer problem. However, elation turned to disgust when they enrolled me into a membership that I did not sign up for and began to charge me $46 a month. Calls to them failed to get my money back. They claim I agreed to fine print membership. Boo, it’s a scam in my opinion. They have my credit card number and are abusing it.
Fast service trouble shooting ideas.
Only $5. Friendly technician on call
Was able to chat, get answers right away and and easy directions to follow to fix the issues with my iPhone. Definitely recommend it!!
Very quick response and value added service I would recommend using platform as legal knowledge gives you peace of mind without the big lawyers bill to follow
Very quick and concise information. Better than what we paid for twice with an in town attorney for over $1,000. Highly recommend!!
I am extremely pleased with the service I received via Just Answer.
Five stars are just not enough. Highly recommended!
My dog has had diarrhea for about a month. My vet did a blood test and nothing showed up. I wanted to see if there was something else it could be rather than making another vet visit. The vet told me three things it could be so I narrowed it down to the one that my dog had all the symptoms. I notified my vet and he ordered the medicine for this. I feel like this will be the solution!
They are very good at scamming you out of your money. Without my authorization, I was billed $65.00 which I never authorized (you must opt out at the bottom...very tricky).
Spoke to a representative named Rena, who said the membership fee was non-refundable. Hours later, I spoke with Abby, a "supervisor" who refused to return my money.
When I asked for to speak with someone above her, she said there was no one.
Guess I have to get the local TV station involved, although they seem to be based in California.

The 'experts' they use may be just what they say but mine didn't address the computer question I asked beyond a generic generalized answer and he admitted as much when I questioned him on it.
My complaint is with the business side due to their; let's call it the stealth sales techniques they used and their so far totally lack of response to my requests. If you check them thoroughly you'll find a variety of fees to induce you to 'try them that will range for $1 to $5 get an answer to a question. You be required to give them credit card information that allows them to charge your account whatever that 'trial fee' happens to be that day.
There is little to no disclaimer that your 'trial' is in any way a pathway to a full membership in X number of days and nowhere are you made aware (in any obvious nothing up our sleeves way) that if you don't cancel said membership in X days you'll be charged an additional and continuing monthly fee. In my case that continuing fee turned out to be $46 although I've read other similar complaints where the fee was over $50.
Their site also gives you several ways to 'cancel' your mystery membership and they guarantee a quick response in as little as 4 hours but the reality is much different. In my case when I learned of the additional $46 charge I went to their site and e-mailed a request for a cancellation as well as my request for am e-mailed response that acknowledged my cancellation so I'd have a record in my files. Their online e-mail doesn't give you a copy of your request so it would be difficult down the road to prove you had ever made such a request. My first cancellation request was on or soon after Feb. 7, 2020 and as of Mar. 6th I have not yet received ANY reply. I have sent another e-mail making the same request today (3/6/2020) and this time I copied the full content of that e-mail into a Word document for future reference.
So, while the information you get may or may not be 'expert' (your mileage may vary) the business model behind those experts is just close enough to being legal as it occupies that gray are close to the border you may well find yourself fighting a battle you were at first unaware you had been caught up in so proceed with your eyes open.

I sent a message to the *** in July 2019 using their website. I did not realize until tax time that I had been charged $28.00 every month since then for this question. When I called Just Answer in February 2020 they told me that yes, I was charged for asking this question for 8 months. They gave me credit for 3 months but I want full credit. July, August, September, October and November which equals $140.00. I just think this is a scam. Evidently there is a button that I accidentally pushed on the website.
Hello ***Thank you for contacting JustAnswer and I'm extremely sorry for any frustration we may have caused you. We have issued a refund for 3 membership payments of $28.00 each. The funds are made available to your bank the next business day, however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy. Unfortunately, we are unable to refund charges further back than this.It looks like you accepted a free trial of our membership program. At the end of the trial, the membership bills automatically to avoid disruptions in service. It is evident that you did not intend to continue with the membership after the trial ended, so as a courtesy I have refunded all of your membership charges. I have turned the membership billing off and you will not receive any further recurring charges.Again, please accept our apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused. I hope that I've been able to resolve this issue to your satisfaction. Please contact me if there is anything else I can help you with.

I signed in to Just Answer to ask a computer question on a unit I had purchased. The person was no help so I cancelled my trial subscription. I began getting charged every month. On October 4th I called the phone number showing on my bank statement. ***. And cancelled the subscription again. I am still getting monthly charges to my account, I called again today 3/4/2020. And asked why I was still being charged, the person stated the account was closed in October. There are still charges to my account, how can I get this to stop?

It was advertised to talk to a mechanic for a total of $1.00 U.S. which was charged immediately. Today almost a week later I have received a second charge on my account for $34.00 U.S.
The mechanic gave me some ideas but none of them were the issue with the vehicle.
My issue is with the $1.00 advertising price and the second, unauthorized charges of 34.00 on my account.

I signd up for a one (1) week trial on 2/24 of the Just Answer service and canceled the trial the same day because I was dissatified with all of the info that was asked for in order to sign up for the service. Today (3/5) I was charged $34 for the subsription that I had cancelled the week before.
This company is a scam.

I joined Just Answer to get an answer to one question. Their was a $5 charge for seven days. It was stated that I would not be charged for further time.
I was just charged $28 to continue.
I never authorized this charge.
When I called, they said I was advised by email of this charge. I have looked through all the emails and I do not see this.

This service is a rip-off. Apparently, I have been paying them $46 a month for MONTHS now, all for one day's contact with them--and I was unaware that there was any payment due at all. I did not in any way authorize a monthly $46 payment to Just Answer.

On 8 May 2019, I elected to try a 7-day trial membership with *** for an initial $5 fee. While I was satisfied with the quality of the answer I received to the question, after several days, I decided that I would not require consultation enough to justify a subscription to their service. So I elected not to subscribe.
On 15 June, 2019, I received an e-mail from *** (Senior Director, Customer Service) from the e-mail address *** confirming my account had been cancelled. The text of this e-mail read: "Hi there, Your membership has been canceled. If you’d like to restart your membership at any time, please ?all us at +***"
Each month since then (from 8 July 2019 to present), my credit card has been charged $46.00 from *** That totals $368.00 thus far (eight monthly charges). I am very unhappy that I have been billed that amount since receiving a cancellation confirmation from the company.
Hello,
Thanks for letting us know about this. We're sorry for any confusion about the payment for the site.
It looks like you received the cancellation notification due to a temporary billing issue on your account in June that had been resolved. This is why the billing continued after that.
We can confirm that your membership was turned off, and that all of the charges from June to March have been refunded back to you. You will see no further recurring billing. You can continue to use the website to post questions as you need and you will be asked to place a deposit on a question-by-question basis.
Please reach out to us if you need any further assistance and we're happy to help in any way we can.
