They never send any emails regarding your membership. No reminder at all. Called the cancel and see if they can do anything for last few months as I forgot cancel, agent simply stated I am out of luck and he is just following protocol.
Customer service agent was very rude. Not wiling to work with you at all. At the end of the call he even said you will need to hang up now because I do have other customer that I need to take care of it. Could not explain why they don't send any invoices or reminders for the membership.

When reviewing my credit card statement for last March, while preparing my taxes for last year, I found a charge for $46 that was charged after I had paid the original $5 for information I requested. I had not ask any additional questions and certainly didn't expect this extra charge which I have just now found.
Yes, their rating shouldn't even be one star! Very disappointed in this company.

After agreeing to pay Just Answer $5 for a legal question, I continued on (forced or no answer) to set up a subscription for $30 a month with the option of canceling after a week in which they would send a reminder (never sent). The did send a "welcome" email that went directly to spam. I expected the $30 fee for the first month since I did realize I forgot to cancel and was out of the country. However the charge on my card was $60 plus the $5 trial fee. I called on 2-22 and talked to Bernidette #*** and she was unwilling to give me a refund or explain why my "business" was a $60 membership when I was looking right at the site showing a $30 monthly fee. I also asked about the reasoning behind a $5 trial and a $30 membership fee. Wouldn't it be one or the other? She did agree to refund the $5 trial fee but refused to refund the $60 monthly fee. I told her it wasn't a good start when I googled searched to sign in and the second word after "Just Answer" was SCAM!

After a trial period (a 1USD for a week) after which Iwas not pleased with the services offered by Just Answer, they charged me without my consent for a membership plan of 28 USD/month I never accepted.
I consider It's a swindle to take money without any request for a service that nobody asked for.
So I ask for refunding me because I didn't ask ever for a membership plan.

I contacted Just answer on Feb 11, 2011, and paid for a trial to speak with a legal expert. when I was done with my conversation about an hour later or so I tried to cancel so I would not be charged a full membership fee. It looked as though my cancelation went through. I never received any other communication from the site after, Not even an email stating your trail is almost up and you will be charged x amount membership fee email. I was checking my credit card account this morning and saw a $60 membership charge from Just ask that posted on Feb 19th. So I got on their web site to find out about canceling the membership and getting a refund of the $60 since I thought that my cancelation request had already gone through. I did a chat with a representative and asked about the cancelation and refund, they asked me what my reason for the cancelation was for, I told them my full reason and the person sent a link to cancel but never really replied to my reason and request and promptly ended my chat before I could respond. I then started another chat and got the same rep she then sent my chat to someone who was supposed to be a supervisor I explained my request and reason for the request. Once again I was told my account would be canceled right away but that since I did not cancel on time that they would not be refunding my $60 I then tried to explain that I had canceled and thought that it had gone through. They then asked did I get any confirmation I told them no. But told them that it had appeared to me that it had gone through. They then gave me a bunch of information about when I did the trial that it was stated that I had to cancel by a certain time and that because I had not I was stuck with this fee and told me I should have gotten an email telling me that I was about to be chared which I never got. and they would not address this issue either. just kept telling me that they would not refund as it was not there problem. But I do not feel that I should be held to a contract and fee for something I tried to cancel and thought that I had canceled as well as I had not received any other communication from them about a fee was about to be charged... I just kept being told that I should have canceled on time.

I signed up for the $5 trial membership because I had a tax question. I was under the impression that I had a full week to try this out. I signed up on 02/12/2020 so 7 days later, on 02/19/2020, I tried to login to my account in order to cancel it. I tried several times and was repeatedly given the message, the account does not exist. I even tried to reset the password and it stated that the email address is not one they have on file and yes, I checked to make sure it was input correctly. The funny culmination of that, is that the next day when I spoke to the first representative, she asked for my name when I wanted to speak to management. When I stated that the company has my credit card so she should certainly know my name, she stated that they only keep the email address and phone number on file. So why then did their website tell me no account with that email exists and why did my credit card get charged? But I digress...I am the mother of a busy 3 year old and at the time of trying to login, I assumed this meant that the membership automatically cancelled and that is why I couldn't sign in. Obviously, this was an incorrect assumption as I was charged $55 the very next day. I tried to chat with them online and was unsuccessful, as I was ignored for a long time, only to be disconnected abruptly when a customer service representative finally came on and I was answering the door. Because I did not respond within two minutes, I was disconnected. Then I tried calling and was disconnected. Finally, I got through on the phone and the two representatives I spoke to were very unmoving in their stance that it was my fault despite all the difficulties I experienced in even trying to get a hold of them. Apparently, I was supposed to have contacted them by the 18th (which was only 6 days into my 7 day trial) and there was no acknowledgement of the difficulties in contacting them. The service I received was worth the $5 but definitely not $60 and what I find ironic is that their website issues a message that states that customers are eligible for a refund if they are not satisfied. When I asked about this, the representative (manager apparently) stated not for the reason I gave them. So if I lied and said that the tax experts I messaged did not give me a satisfactory answer on the first day I signed up, then I would be given a refund? Sounds like poor business ethics if you ask me. The companies that I have seen that issue money back guarantees will do it for any reason, especially if the services were only used in the trial period, as is my case. They in turn are given great reviews and returning, loyal customers. Had I been smart enough to review Justanswer's website with the Revdex.com, I never would have done the trial to begin with because of all the complaints over billings.

I feel like I've been defrauded. I called a year ago to ask a question. While the answer was satisfactory I was not only charged $115 for the answer, Just Answer continued to deduct money from the account while I was unaware of it. I can't prove it at this time but I'm almost certain that I asked for a cancellation of any further charges. I have not used it for almost a year. I asked them to be fair about it and refund at least half of the overcharge but they refused to do anything about it. It cost me a lot of extra money for nothing. It's a horrible practice and they should stop stealing from people as I see they have done to others.

I signed up as a trial member to a service and did not use it after the trial period. I see that I was charged $46.00 for each of the past three months. When I called up the company to ask for at a minimum a refund of the $46.00 charge that was made two days ago, they said they cannot. They said they can only cancel the subscription going forward. I have had various subscription services before, and they have all always agreed to at least refund the last charge. This seems like deceptive and unfair business practices to me.
Honestly, if possible, I would like to have all three $46 charges refunded, or at a minimum, one or two of them.

I canceled my subscription during the trial period but the company didn't acknowledge the cancellation. JustAnswer proceeded to charge me for a full month of services although my subscription was cancelled. I since spoke to them again and cancelled my subscription but they never credited me for the 1 month full subscription price

Web site does not give what the monthly cost.
They do not email you what the monthly cost will be.
I had thought it was $27/month.
When I got a charge for $53 I was rather surprised.
After spending a lot of time with their support they refunded $26.

The service is good.
$27 which I thought was the price is reasonable.
$53 is high.

In any case they need to have the price up front and center on their web site. Their reps couldn't even find a page where it is listed. This is a deceptive practice.

Had they published the price I would have given them five stars. But since they engage in a deceptive practice I reduced it to three stars. Had they failed to refund the difference I would have given them one star so they got two stars for the refund.

I solicited this website to get a medical question answered on a weekend. They answered satisfactorily and charged me $1 at that moment and then $50 for the month. It will be a monthly fee that was advertised that I had the ability to cancel anytime. I have been unable to cancel for subsequent months. I agreed to the one time charge because they said I could cancel anytime but there is no place to cancel on their website.

I accepted an offer from "Just Answer" for a $5 trial of an Ask an Expert a Question option. I paid fthe $5 with a credit card and asked my question. . Over the next several days I received multiple emails asking if I was satisified with the answer I had received, I replied to each pointing out that I had not received a reply. After several such exchanges over the course of 2-3 weeks there was still no answer to my question so I requestd and received a $5 refund. However, I then discovered that but my credit card had been charged with a $40 membership fee! I then realized that a "small print" clause on the original sign-up meant I would be charged for "membership" if I did not cancel within one week. At no time did I consciously request to be a member so I immediately took action to cancel it and prevent further (in my view unauthorized) $40 charges to my card. I also complained that I had been lulled into expecting an answer to my question (which never came) and tricked into a membership I did not want and that I expected a $40 refund, After I responded to several omputer generated replies I was told my complaint would be referred to Customer Service. Customer Service then emailed me to say that they were sorry for my problems, pointed out their small print negative biling clause, told me that they were addressing my problem by cancelling my membership -- already cancelled by me on line 10 days earlier! If this is a legitimate business that values honest and responsible dealings with its customers it would have refunded my $40 without question. Since it has failed to demonstrate such integrity, I conclude that this is a business that needs to be exposed for its negative billing practices, incompetence, and dreadful customer service.

In December 2018, I called Microsoft Support for an issue with my Windows 10 computer. They handed me off to a company called ***.com, which asked for what I believed was a one-time payment. In fact, this was a monthly subscription costing $46 per month. They have been collecting this amount for 14 months without sending me an invoice or my having used their service again. That amounts to $644, by my calculations. I called them and they said that no refund of any kind is possible.

I asked a simple question for which I was to be charged $5.00. Understanding that if I did not cancel within the contract period, I woukd be charged $47.00. I did cancel but beyond the one week so I was charged the full $47.00. The company did not cancel my subscription even afterI had cancelled during the initial month. They have charged me an additional month’s fee of $57.00. I contacted *** but they told me to contact Just Answer. I did just that once agsin and they saud they would tefund the $47.00. They have failed to refund that initial money still!!! The supposed answer to my initial question was inadequate and now I have paid $114.00 for zero assistance. Stinking service, stinking follow-up. Smells to high heaven and no help! Ugh!

Shady practices. Finding how to stop your membership is basically impossible. I only noticed it didnt stop it when I saw a 60$ charge on my account. Mind you, not the 46 the site says. I called about it, apparently it was the complexity of the question during the trial period question. The one question that the "professional" sent me two website address she googled. These people are shady. Do. Not. Use.

This is a scam. I authorized $5 charge to get an answer via email. I got a link in the email on how to repair my washing machine. I was asked if I wanted to talk by phone to a technician for $24 and I declined. I just got my bank statement and the $5 charge was posted on 2/10. On 2/15 there was an additional $37 un-authorized charge. This is a scam!

We apologize for any frustration that you seem to be experiencing.Any overdraft fee that your bank charged would need to be refunded back to your account by your bank as it does not appear that they've covered the transaction, as we never received any funds form the attempted transactions. If you have further concerns, please direct them to *** at [email protected] let us know if you need any further assistance.Regards

I signed up for a trial membership to get a legal question of my start up business. I only signed up for the trial memberships. It said I would be notified when the trial ended. I never was and contacted them to have the trial membership cancelled. They charged me for one month. I never agreed, or used the ongoing service. I want all but the trial payment refunded.

Hello, My name is Chase and I am with the customer care team at JustAnswer. I received a copy of your complaint filed through the Revdex.com and I’d like to help with your concerns. Firstly, I am sorry for any problems you have experienced with our site. After checking your account, I can see that you signed up for the 7 day free trial membership. As with any membership or subscription trial, if
you do not cancel before the end of the trial, you will automatically
be charged for your first month to avoid any disruption in service.
Additionally, we send out emails welcoming you to the membership and an
email is sent before your trial is ending. Although
your payment is not eligible for a refund under our terms of service,
as a courtesy to you we have refunded the membership payment for you.
The funds are made available to your bank the next business day; however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy. I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help. Best regards, *** Senior Customer Support Specialist
