Just Answer customer service agent rudely hung up and stole $53 from a trail session from my Just Answer membership account. She was very rude and unwilling to return $53 dollars to my unemployment card. I am very displeased and lost funds without the assistance from an attorney.
Hello,
My name is Chase and I am with the customer care team at JustAnswer. I received a copy of your complaint filed through the Revdex.com and I’d like to help with your concerns.
Firstly, I am sorry for any problems you have experienced with our site.
After checking your account, I can see that you signed up for the discounted $5 question with the 7 day free trial membership. As with any membership or subscription trial, if you do not cancel before the end of the trial, you will automatically be charged for your first month to avoid any disruption in service. Additionally, we send out emails welcoming you to the membership and an email is sent before your trial is ending.
Per our terms of service that you agreed to when you enrolled in the membership, the membership payment is not eligible for a refund as stated in section 10, subheading "Refunds, Cancellations, Abuse and Special Programs" as follows;
***
Although your payment is not eligible for a refund under our terms of service, as a courtesy to you I can see that we have refunded the membership payment for you on 9/4/19. The funds are made available to your bank the next business day, however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy.
I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.
Best regards,

Terrible support. I want out! Can't get a live person. Keeps sending me to the same place saying " sending password to e-mail" after I've told them time after time I can't get into it.
I paid for the $5 trial to ask a question about my dog, which took hours for me to actually get an answer and the information provided was not helpful. I forgot to cancel before the 7 days passed so I was charged $29. On the day I was charged I reached out to customer service for a refund, seeing how I haven't and will not use their services again for this month. I was informed that I didn't qualify for a refund because of the agreement made before submitting your payment. It may not be illegal, but I don't want to do business with a company that basically tricks people into paying for something they don't want. You have lost my business by taking advantage of the fact that a lot of human beings forget to cancel trial memberships. If that's how your company prides itself on making money then No thank you. I will not recommend you ever again.

This website Justanswer, says the Revdex.com rates it as A+ yet you have a lot of complaints on file about them.
They say one question will cost you $1.00, yet they billed my credit card $46.00
They are a rip off and a scam!

I asked a question on Just Answer and paid the charge for the question to the tune of $1.00 on August 5. Today, I received a charge on my bank statement in the amount of $46.00 for a membership. I immediately cancelled that membership and sent them a note. They acknowledged that I'd cancelled my membership but didn't say a word about refunding that charge. I tried emailing them back but my email is undeliverable.

I paid 5.00 to see a lawyer on this website. I never agreed to additional charges for a membership. I now see 3 months of charges 46.00 x 3 =153.00. I want this refunded as I did not authorize the charges. I have tried to call and email this company but they tell me they cannot find my account using my email. If you cannot find my account using my email there is no way you met your terms of service by sending the welcome email and notice of charges which you state you do.

If you cannot provide an alternate would need another email address you may have used or the first 6 (six) and last 4 (four) digits of the card that was charged and I can have our billing department locate the account.

I am unsure if you are reporting the correct company. I looked up the email address you've provided and it looks like you tried to use the site in 2010, but there is no recent account using this email address. If you used another email address, can you please provide it to us. If you do not have another email address, please provide the first 6 and last 4 digits of the card that was charged and I can see if our billing department can locate the charge that way.

Tell us why here...
I sent a request to Just Answer and paid the returnable $5.00 fee. Since I received no help in my quest I want the fee returned. There is no place (at least none that I could find) to request the fee return.

Hello ***,
Thanks for letting us know about this. We're sorry for any frustration.
In looking at your account it seems like we were able to connect you with a technician that was trying to help you with your printer problem but that you never responded to any of his questions.
We've also never received any contact from you about any difficulty that you were having in navigating the site after we tried to reach out to you multiple times to notify you of the responses.
We'll reach out to you again to make sure that you are able to get back in touch with the technician and address any other concerns.

JustAnswer Customer Care
BEWARE: The trial is $1; however, to get technical help there is an additional $5 fee. After the 7 day trial, the monthly fee is $46 that supposedly covers unlimited usage but every time I tried to submit a question they requested an additional $5. IF YOU DECIDE TO GO THIS ROUTE CHECK FOR COUPON CODES AND BE SURE THAT THEY CREDIT YOUR ACCOUNT FOR THEM. Mine was NOT credited to my account and they would NOT refund any of my money.
Hello ***
Thank you for getting in touch with us about this. We're sorry for any confusion about the pricing.
The trial is indeed $1.00 and it looks like you paid $5.00 for a Remote Connection service to resolve the issue that you were having with your computer. The Remote Connection service, and the fee associated with it, is optional and not obligatory.
If you do not wish to use the Remote Connection you can always continue talking to the Expert in the Chat for free.
We were unable to locate nay additional questions or charges for $5.00 tied to your account however we can confirm that the membership on your account was turned off 10 days ago at your request. You will not see any future billing.
If you need any further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us.
Regards,
JustAnswer Customer Care
I never chose to subscribe. They trick you by not telling you you are joining if they come up when you Google you want an answer to some question and click on their link. Also
1. They charge different amounts for membership. So far I pay the highest amount of the the charges I saw on the reviews: $61
2. They tell you they contact you before your trial period is over. They did no such thing.
3. You can be charged for any question you ask, including how to cancel.
Obviously, not a reputable business.

The membership prices vary based on the category that the first question was posted in.
Please feel free to reach out to us if you need any further assistance or if you have any further question about your account or the service.

The answer I received for my query was fair at best and I ended up solving the problem by direct contact with the company involved. The thing that really infuriates me is finding two subsequent charges to my checking account for a membership that I neither requested nor wanted. I tried calling them and after waiting for several minutes a representative informed me that it was my problem for not cancelling my membership within 7 days of my original contact with them. I had no idea that this was required or I would have cancelled immediately. Just another scam!
Hello ***,
Thank you for getting in touch with us about this. We're sorry for any frustration about the billing.
We can confirm for you that we've issued a refund for the last 2 membership charges and that you should see the funds back in the next several business days.

Response was very fast and helpful. The first technician helped as much as possible, then my question was immediately referred to another that was familiar with the symptom.
I am very happy to find your company when I needed it. My refrigerator broke and it did not take long for the staff that I talked to give me a quick solution to my problem. He even recommended ordering the part from Amazon. I clicked the link and the part was there ready for me to order it. I got the part the next day, had my husband install it and the ref started working again!! I have been telling everyone about it. Thanks again.
A few weeks ago I was out on the town drinking with my friends. We got into an argument with the bartender in which we talked about suing him. Later that night, without searching anything, I got an ad from “just answer” to answer legal questions that I may have. I was not in the right state of mind to enter into any contact at the time nor was I able to read the terms and conditions with any understanding. I reached out to Just answer to request a refund, but they said no.

Well more than 1 year ago, about April of 2018, we were having trouble installing a new printer. I went online for help. Apparently I submitted my issue to Just Answer (as well as my credit card number? --- I don't remember this much later). I also don't recall if their advice helped with the printer installation, but we did get it working eventually.
Today (Aug. 8, 2019) I examined my credit card statement about an old doctor bill. I discovered a $46 charge for Just Answer. I had no idea who that was or why they were charging us $46 that month (April 2019). I Googled them, found a Customer Service number and called. *** (sp?) was very courteous and explained that I must have subscribed for a "7 day free trial" (after which our "membership" was continued indefinitely unless we cancelled it). I had no idea that I was subscribing for a continuous service and monthly charge; I would never do such stupid thing.
So, without realizing it, we've been charged $46 every month for almost 17 months without knowing we even had such a "membership" (or ever using it even once in that time). By my calculation, that's about $736 scammed from our bank account.
Yes, "***" cancelled my "membership" (thank heaven) and even refunded the last 3 months' charges. But we are still out about $600 for this utter scam! We want it all back!! We cannot afford a "gift" of $600 to Just Answer for absolutely nothing!

I am rejecting this response because: My wife and I have been scammed out of approximately $730 over a year and a half. I was unaware that I was signing up for a continuing membership with Just Answer at a cost of $46 every month. I would never do something so stupid (knowingly); their fine print must have tricked me. I never thought about the service after my first question; I figured receiving emails was just my total cost of talking to them once. I paid no attention to them.
They have refunded about $138 so far. That's a good start, but I want the remaining money, too -- roughly $600. And I would lie to see this scam shut down by the authorities.
Sincerely
Hello,
My name is Chase and I am with the customer care team at JustAnswer. I received a copy of your rejection complaint filed through the Revdex.com and I’d like to help with your concerns.
Again, I am sorry for any problems you have experienced with our site.
Regarding the membership, it's not just about reading the emails we sent. When you came to the site, you accepted a deeply discounted $5 question with the 7-day free trial. We are very clear that the free trial is included. As with any trial, if you do not cancel before the trial ends, you are automatically charged for your first month to avoid disruptions in service. At this point we've refunded a total of $504. There are a remaining 6 membership payments. Unfortunately, we are unable to process refunds that are over a year old, however, you can reach out to our billing supervisor Adam at *** and we can provide the refund through PayPal or a bank check.
I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.

Ask a question and was reassured that the time limits would be in my favour.
