So far the worst experience I have ever had with a company. I have never posted a bad review in my life. But JustAnswer is that one scamming company that's taken me there. I'm completely disgusted with this company and would advise anyone who reads this to not use.
I had paid $5 to have one question answered, this was an offer on their website. I got answer and was billed $5 immediately. A whole month later, I see new charge on my account, they took $46 out of my account without notifications! I immediately called as I was horrified. I was told that this was a membership fee that was coming with the $5 question I had asked a month prior. What?!? At no point they clearly stated I would also be enrolling in such scam. They're offering you the opportunity to pay for a one time question at $5 but on top of that you're paying a secret membership? it makes no sense! Anyone with a brain who then pay for the membership alone and ask as many questions as they'd like. I spent 20 minutes over the phone with the supervisor who was very determined to hold on my $46 as if her life depended on it. They made me want to vomit. They stole my money and never sent me a heads up either.
Gross company, do not recommend. You will be met with nasty surprises like this one.
Just realized on my credit card statement I was charged $34 for a monthly membership that I cancelled within the 7-day "trial" membership with these people. Logged into their site before the 7-day and requested to be cancelled. Didn't receive my cancellation email till after the 7-day deadline passed. (How convenient of them) In total I paid $39 - $5 for the "trial" and $34 for the unexpected charge to my credit card.
Worthless service. The "professional" I was set up with was very unhelpful with my issue.
I'm sure I am wasting my time with this email but HOPEFULLY it'll forewarn anyone else from making the same mistake I did.
JustAnswer please don't respond back with one of your pathetic "We're So Sorry" responses that you've left for everyone else who've you screwed out of money and attempting to place all the blame on the consumer that trusted your service.
Email a question into the Just Answer service twice over 24 hours ago, I was told answer a typically given within a 30 minute period, I had made an inquiry earlier in the day that was not answered for 90 minutes, so I amended my question and waited again. After 45 minutes I called and requested assistance, and my question was given high priority. After 90 minutes total, I emailed a complaint, I received a reply that my question again would be given a high priority. Now it is over 24 hours later, no reply whatsoever to my inquiry, not even a statement that they cannot help me in a timely manner.
They advertise on their website you will get your answer in minutes and 24/7. I understand that 24 hours can be expressed in minutes, but the implications is less than an hour to me, and I think anyone would find this to be false advertising.
Hello,
My name is Chase and I am with the customer care team at JustAnswer. I received a copy of your complaint filed through the Revdex.com and I’d like to help with your concerns.
Firstly, I am sorry that we were unable to get you a response.
On average, a question that is asked on JustAnswer receives a response in 10 minutes, and in most cases, it's faster than that. However there are times when responses can be delayed. Things like the time of day that the question was posted, and the number of Experts available in the category will play a part. The biggest issue can be having Experts available and online who are familiar with your specific problem. The amount of complexity within the question, and the time it takes for an Expert to author a response also has an impact.
I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.
Best regards,
Ms. Chase

I am rejecting this response because:
Thisis the same form email they sent me, and it does not address the fact that they claimed to elevate my response twice, and I still go no other contact for 48 hours. It appears they somehow lost my request instead of elevating it. Moreover, this was not a slow response a's their reply says, it was an unapologetic non-respione.
Sincerely
Thank you for your response. I am very sorry that you did not get a response. As a question/answer site, our goal is answers for every question and I am sorry we dropped the ball on that, it was certainly not our intention. Experts are not employees, which mean they pick the questions that they will answer. While some categories are lower in Experts than others, we are always actively seeking new Experts so this doesn't happen again. We really apologize that we were unable to get you an answer and we hope that you may consider giving us another try one day.
Warm Regards,

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and see no benefit in pursuing this further. It was like pulling teeth to get them to apologize in any significant way, which finally did, if barely so. I find their customer service to be severely lacking still, but in the end, adequate. I have accepted their answer to this dispute.
Thanks very much for your assistance to resolve this matter.
Sincerely
I used the trial service for the $1 charge and the service was amazing. However when I submitting my card for the payment, there was not visible information that I will be charged for $46 after 7 days trial nor there was an email about it. I called to ask for a refund because I wasn't know about my account being transferred to a membership for $46. They said I can't have my refund back because I agreed, however I saw people complaint about the same situation that I have on this website, they answered their complains and they said they WILL give them a refund even though it was NOT ELIGIBLE for a refund. Then I asked so what's the difference with my case? They said because those customers wasn't happy about the service and their cases are different but again, I have the SAME complain as them. And they said because I rated the service was 5 stars, they said I was happy with the service so I can't have my refund?!?! I said ok so calling will not give my refund back so I should come up here and complain like other people too, they told me to not do that lol. And one of them also said they never give refund to anyone, so I asked if what they were answering to the complains was just for people to see how professional they are but for actually give customer refund even though they said that in their answers? They said not like that... At this point I don't mind wasting my $46 but it was how they deal with customers which is unfair that bothers me so much.
I needed an answer to an issue I was having with some musical equipment. This company advertises that you will get an immediate response for a 5.00 payment. The response took over 24 hours and was basically just more questions about the information I had given them. Then I received an e-mail asking about the service and I told them it was not timely and to cancel my membership. Stupidly, I agreed to another 7 day extension of the "free service". At this point I had not signed up for an account, established a password, etc. 10 days later I received an e-mail with some vague reference to my membership and showing a 46.00 charge to my card on the 14th day of the "free" trial. I had no idea where this amount came from and I had provided no consent to charge my credit card. I then tried to cancel at their website and get my money back but their "customer care" person wouldn't do it and claimed her supervisor was not available to do the cancellation. This message also said to call a phone number to cancel so I dialed and reached a fellow named *** who tried to talk me out of the cancellation for 5-10 minutes until I demanded over and over that they do it. But there is no refund because of some verbiage in some membership contract that I never saw and have no idea where to even look for it. This company may provide answers people need but their billing and membership process in completely opaque and as sleazy as any business I've ever dealt with.
Hello,
My name is Chase and I am with the customer care team at JustAnswer. I received a copy of your complaint filed through the Revdex.com and I’d like to help with your concerns.
Firstly, I am sorry you did not get a quicker answer for any problems you have experienced with our site.
After checking your account, I can see that you signed up for the $5 question with the 7 day free trial membership. As with any membership or subscription trial, if you do not cancel before the end of the trial, you will automatically be charged for your first month to avoid any disruption in service. Additionally, we send out emails welcoming you to the membership and an email is sent before your trial is ending.
Per our terms of service that you agreed to when you enrolled in the membership, the membership payment is not eligible for a refund as stated in section 10, subheading "Refunds, Cancellations, Abuse and Special Programs" as follows;
***
Although your payment is not eligible for a refund under our terms of service, as a courtesy to you we have refunded the membership payment for you. The funds are made available to your bank the next business day, however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy.
I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. Please note that the response from the business is not completely factual. Other subscription services do not charge anything up front and make it clear that your credit card will be charged at the end of the trial if you do not cancel. In this instance I paid 5.00 up front for answer, NOT because I wanted a trial membership. This is a major difference. Also, the only e-mail I received about the trial was 2 days AFTER it was over and my credit card had already been charged.
Sincerely
This company asked for $1 refundable for me to claim back money from a company (AVAST) for a product I did not want. Although I got the refund, this company did nothing at all. They have not refunded $0.60 they took from me and have now lodged a sum of $46 to take from my credit card. As of today, it is pending and I WILL report it as fraud. When I try to complain to the company *** they want to repeat the $1 take and get my credit card again - no dount to try and steal more money from me.

I signed up for a $1 7-day trial on 6/12/19. I received an email on 6/20/19 that my membership was canceled from Jeff Cavellini, Senior Director, Customer Service. I was charged $28.00 on 7/8/19 even though my account was cancelled. I reached out to just answer customer service however they did not help me in anyway. They refused to refund me even though my membership was canceled per the email sent to me on 6/20/19.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me however I believe this is a SCAM,and the "business" lied I never ask a single question they just pop in on my design question from Texas Instrument I was surprised they asking $1.00 for my question.I that I am still with TI .
Obvious I had no idea about this scam, so I suggest to shut down this rip of "business" before they hurt some other wondering people on the internet. The reason they refund me because I treat them with small claim court complaint fileing,NOT because they are nice people.
I just don't wan't other people get hurt
Sincerely
As most other reviews state. They bait you with a $5 answer and switch to a $46 monthly fee without your knowledge that begins to appear on your credit card. Cancelling the account was as difficult as possible with protracted chats with several bots that want to now why you want to cancel, "we'll review your reasons and get back to you" rather than a simple - OK, you're cancelled response. Took about an hour to cancel.
justanswer*** offered a 7-day trial for $1, but as soon as I asked a question they asked for $26 for me to speak with a mechanic.
Hello ***
Thanks for getting in touch with us. We're soryr for the confusion.
The $26.00 offer was for a phone call, which is an additional service option that we offer to all customers, but is not an obligation.
In checking your account you've only received the $1.00 charge and you can continue speaking with the mechanic online for no additional charge.
Please let us know if you need any further assistance.

This is an alright service, however, they really find ways to scam you into paying more. First of all, you get on the site and an assistant asks you questions pertaining to your situation before she refers you to an expert, asking a $5 refundable charge. You are then transferred to the payment information. Once this is done, the expert is in contact with you within 5 mins or so. I checked my credit card right away in order to make sure everything went as promised.. it did not. I was charged an extra $44. I checked my email and I received a receipt saying you are charged an extra $44 once the expert replies. This was NOT mentioned prior to filling out your payment information. Afterwards, I had about a 5 minute conversation with the expert. He seemed to have given me the same information as I could find myself on google, and haven’t answered to my last question. So, being unsatisfied, I returned to the websites homepage and spoke again with the assistant. I told her about my insatisfaction, she asked me a few questions before asking if there’s any other information I would like to give her before she refers me to a lawyer! So, I asked her if he or she was the one in charge of refunding, if I would get charged speaking to this person, etc., which then I was transferred to a payment form (lol) stating THIS time that I would be charged again a refundable $5, and a $33 fee once the lawyer replied (the once replied was not mentioned before my first conversation). Anyway, on your account, under order history, there is a « get a refund » option, I clicked it, checked the reason of my dissatisfaction and I got an immediate refund on both the $5 and $44 charge. So, they’re very quick on their refund at least, lol.
It seems that this is a scam. Today, First I was asked for $1.00 for a trial membership. It was not disclosed that I will have to pay additional charges for each question. After posing a question, I was asked to pay $5.00. Then, I realized that each question requires extra charge. Such a disclosure should be made before signing up for membership. Therefore, this is a scam. Hope your bureau takes necessary legal actions to stop this practice. Your bureau should also notify the consumer protection agencies at the state & the federal level.
Hello ***,
Thank you for getting in touch with us about this. We're sorry for any confusion.
We can find no evidence of any $5.00 charges on your account and we don't have a feature that charges $5.00 per question. It seems that this ight have been some form of misunderstanding.
Please reach back out to us if you need any further assistance with navigating the site or see these potential charge items pop-up again.
We look forward to hearing from you.

okay well I am not satisfied, there was no indication that this is a trap to swindle old ladies out of their money. I asked a question about a divorce for my son, a pop up kept asking if I wanted to phone I kept saying no, because it was too much money, Then at 4:30 am EST I get woke up by a text saying you stole 53 dollars. No I am far from satisfied.
Hello ***,
Thank you for getting in touch with us about this. We're sorry for any confusion.
The $53.00 charge was the membership that was posted a week after the last question.
We will take a look at your account to make sure that it was processed correctly and reach out to you for any other information.

Absolute fraud. The responses are “canned” responses. I was charged $15.00 after which I was told I made a mistake contacting the doctor. In my follow up question I wrote “ please tell the doctor that I died”. The response was”This information would be passed to the doctor and he will discuss it when we chat”.
Hi ***,
We're sorry for any confusion. It sounds like you might have gotten a little bit confused when speaking to the chatbot on the homepage.
It does look like you were able to post a question about a medical claim that was denied but we're unable to provide you with a reason for the denial of the claim as we do not work with your Doctor, nor do we work with your insurer, we are a 3rd party company.
We do hope that you were able to get in touch with someone from the correct party.
The charges on your account have been refunded as well. Please reach out if you need any further assistance.

The answer to my question was fine. Their business practices are terrible. I knew going in that I signed up for a "free" trial, that would automatically renew until I canceled my membership. Like most businesses with this model, a good source of revenue are those of us like me who may only need the service for a short time, but then let the membership drag on several months before we cancel. The worst issue was that when I eventually got around to cancelling my membership, the hand you off from one person to another, to another, continually trying to not cancel your membership, then saying you can't cancel on chat, but have to call to cancel. So the run around starts again.
So if I was rating the quality of their answer to my question I'd give them a 4.5, but if I was rating their business practices, I'd rate them 1/2 a star.
It was my fault I let the membership drag out, after I no longer needed it. However, once I take the initiative to cancel, I shouldn't have to jump through hoops like that. Frankly if you let me sign up for the service online, I should be able to cancel online without your systems/policies/practices standing in the way.

Unexpectedly our 10 year old German Wirehair Pointer stopped eating. She was still active, hunting in the yard, begging for walks and generally being her happy self. She noticeably had lost some weight but maintained a little "belly". I had my fears but my husband was in denial. Breeders and friends were giving us all kinds of advice online. When I asked my question to Just Answer they answered quickly and offered an option to talk with an expert. A Vet called us in short order, asked us specific questions and told us his concerns. Although he could not give us a "diagnosis" he was very honest about the things that it could be and of what her work up should be. My husband needed this talk to get her to the vets. The online vet was spot on and within two days we had our diagnosis. Unfortunately it was not a diagnosis anyone wants to be given. Just Answer surprised me by continuing to follow up with us. Without their advise we would probably still be guessing and trying to nurse her to recovery at home, prolonging her pain.
