I just noticed that on my banking statement, I was charged $46.00 as a recurring debt and I want that refunded. I just called *** which is the only information I could get on this business. I can't get their address from the 2 people I spoke to. The 1st one does not speak clear and the 2nd one, her name is 'Lu.' I want that money refunded. Several months ago I had a legal question to which they were not helpful at all.

Hello,

My name is Chase and I am with the customer care team at JustAnswer. I received a copy of your complaint filed through the Revdex.com and I’d like to help with your concerns.

Firstly, I am sorry for any problems you have experienced with our site.

After checking your account, I can see that you signed up for the $5 question with the 7 day free trial membership. As with any membership or subscription trial, if you do not cancel before the end of the trial, you will automatically be charged for your first month to avoid any disruption in service. Additionally, we send out emails welcoming you to the membership and an email is sent before your trial is ending.

Per our terms of service that you agreed to when you enrolled in the membership, the membership payment is not eligible for a refund as stated in section 10, subheading "Refunds, Cancellations, Abuse and Special Programs" as follows;

***

Although your payment is not eligible for a refund under our terms of service, as a courtesy to you we have refunded the membership payment for you. The funds are made available to your bank the next business day, however, the bank may take 3-5 business days to release the funds back to your account depending on their policy.

I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.

On the last 18th of June, I (on behalf of my wife) approached JustAnswer*** for a solution related to my wife's laptop software problem. To be specific, the problem was a malfunction related to the Microsoft Word installed on her laptop. For that service, they charged *** However, they failed to solve the issue and told me that they have no refund policy. I accepted and thus, the case was closed.

Suddenly this evening (today the 25 June), I got a text on my phone informing that they have again charged *** from the same debit card that was charged on June 18. That means, they have saved the card info and now stealing money from there. My wife has instantly reported the issue to her bank. And I reported the issue to Revdex.com because I found on their website that they are accrediated by Revdex.com. Could you chack the matter, matter.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because the following points have to be taken in consideration:

1. On June 18, 2019, I approached JustAnswer (on my wife's behalf) to solve a problem related to Microsoft Word installed on my wife's laptop

2. JustAnswer appointed somebody to fix the issue. The appointed person established a web chat session with me and informed me their charge would be Ringgit Malaysia (RM)165.68.

3. As per their rule, I was given a Terms & Conditions to agree to pay.

4. I agreeed and paid the full amount using my wife's (Name: Mostofa Tasneem) Debit Card issued by CIMB Bank, Malaysia.

5. The appointed person then (after I made the payment) established a remote login session with the laptop and tried to fix the problem

6. Then he informed that the problem wasn't in a state to solve. As they failed to solve the problem, I asked him whether the payment that was made, is refundable or not?

7. The appointed person replied negatively and I accepted.

8. The appointed person then ended up the remote login session and thus the matter was settled upto this point.

A week later, on June 25, 2019, we got a text from our bank that RM196.00 had been charged again by JustAnswer. Upon getting this text from the bank, my wife did the following:

1. Informed the bank regarding this unauthorized transaction.

At the same time, I sent JustAnswer a message via my Facebook messanger which They have yet to check (till now, July 14, 2019. Time 4:48 PM GMT) so I cannot expect anything reply from them.

Besides, when I checked their review (after the encounter) on their FB page, I saw that few other customers have also reviewed that they steal money. I also wrote a review. But they just reply that they don't steal money but never approaching to address their customers review that why they are writing such negative comment. At least, I didn't get any reply from their end.

So, considering all above, I have no point to accept their reply. The case should be investigated properly and they must be accountable for whatever misconduct they are doing with their clients including me. It's very suspecious that when the encounter happened and I checked their FB page review and found the review is absolutely poor. I just checked their page again and found that there's no review option anymore. That means they have turned the review option off in the meanwhile. Revdex.com please check their business history very carefully. I'm now very sure that these guys are doing something wrong and just using Revdex.com's accrediation to attract people.

In conclusion, let me repeat two main clues why I refused their reply.

1. On behalf of my wife, I approached them for a service on June 18, 2019 and paid them in full on my wife's behalf using her Debit Card.

2. One week later, on June 25, 2019 they again charged money from the same card without any intimaiton

Please ask them to refund the money and take necessary action so that they refrain from doing such forgery in the next.

Sincerely

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.

In my previous response, I have mentioned that I contacted them (justanswer***) on behalf of my wife. So, please ask them to check in their system either

"***" or

my wife's email ID".

Now, I've forgotten which email ID I had used. Anyway, it should be any in between these two.

Additionally, please note, the debit card they had charged, was my wife's. The card name was "***" and the bank is CIMB Bank Malaysia.

If anything, please do not hesitate to contact me again.

Sincerely

I signed up for a seven day trial for $5.00. I did not check the subscription box. On the eighth day they took $53 out of my checking account. They refused to refund these funds, saying "they would only make sure I was removed me from the roles for next month.
This is alot of money to me, ten percent of my fixed income.

I ended up with three charges for a total of $74 for trying to get an answer. I accept two charges for perhaps $34. My credit card was charged another $40 for some reason I still do not understand and do not feel I ever agreed to. Customer service was unhelpful.
Expensive answer.
I also feel their text service, which is slow and awkward to use, encourages you accept a higher fee to talk to a technician.

Hello Ed,
Thank you for reaching out to us about this. We apologize for any confusion.
In looking at your account it appears that the cost of the question that you posted was $45, and it does appear that you engaged in a phone call with the electronics Technion that you were working with which brought the total value of the conversation up to $74.00.
The phone call is entirely option but as in many cases, it does appear that it helped to resolve this issue much faster. If you have any future questions, you can continue the conversation in the Q&A thread, either on a desktop, or through the application that we have for your phone.
If you need any further assistance, please don't hesitate to reach back out to us and we're happy to help.

JustAnswer Customer Care

I contacted justanswer and they charged a (refundable) fee of $5. They did not resolve my issue and now they say they will charge $17 more. For what? Nothing . I think they are scammers.

Hello,

My name is Chase and I am with the customer care team at JustAnswer. I received a copy of your complaint filed through the Revdex.com and I'd like to help with your concerns.

Firstly, I am sorry for any confusion you have experienced with our site. Please let me explain how our deposit system works.

When a customer posts a question on JustAnswer, they choose or are shown the full price they are willing to pay for a satisfactory answer. The charge for the question is at the top of the page where you input your payment information. If you have credit card shown, it shows the $5 deposit and the balance deposit when an Expert responds. I've provided a sample screenshot below of the question charge showing the full payment. You can test it out as well by going to our website and going through the first two steps of posting a question (you will not have to enter any payment information to see this).
Credit card screen - ***
After checking your account, I can see $22 was the total cost for your question. Once the question is posted, an initial $5 deposit is made and when an Expert responds, the balance of the deposit is made, in this case the remaining balance was $17. While the deposit is transferred to your JustAnswer account when an Expert responds, it remains in your JustAnswer account until you rate your Expert positively.

We have a 100% customer satisfaction policy, if you do not get an answer or you do not get a satisfactory answer, you are entitled to a full refund.

Per your request, I have closed your question page and processed a refund of your deposits. You should see the funds back in your account within 3-5 days, maybe sooner depending on your bank.

I hope that I have resolved your concerns to your satisfaction. Please let me know if there is anything else I may assist you with and I would be happy to help.

I asked YouTube for an answer to a computer problem and usually find free and helpful advice. This time however, I was connected with a pay for advice site. After I realized my error I disconnected thinking no more of it until I received my credit card bill and found a charge of $46 to join JUSTANSWER. When I called (***) they claimed that I had paid a $5 temporary membership which after an Email warning issued after a certain time I was charged a full membership. My only option was to cancel my membership to prevent further charges but no refund was possible.

SCAM alert! They tell you have a free membership for a month......It's really 7 days... They also say they'll let you know when your trial is over. They don't.
You should get your question answered and then immediately cancel. So far, without realizing it, I was charged $28.00, 7 days after my only question and within the 30 day "trial". I was billed another $28 when I tried to cancel after 30 days.
So for my 5 dollar question I was chared 56 dollars within one month!

JustAnswer Response • Jun 24, 2019

Hello ***,
Thanks for reaching out to us about this. We're sorry for any confusion.
The trial period is and always has been, 7 days. At no point do we advertise a 30 day trial period, if any of the language about the membership was confusing, please reach out to us and we're happy to review it with you.
We can confirm that a billing notification E-mail was sent to the address on file 3-days prior to the membership billing. We can also confirm that the membership billing was cancelled as soon as we received the request from you and that there has only been one membership charge of $28.00 on your account.
Please reach out to us if there are any other question that you have about your account.

I came to this company for legal advice. They said I must pay $5.00. I paid with credit card. When the attorney emailed me he said he wanted to call me. Now after receiving the email. With no advice they charged my account for $47.00 and told me the call would cost $50.00. Of course by this time I’m disgusted and there is no where to decline on the email they sent. This company is misleading and I believe barely legal. They did acknowledge my email for a refund but still wanted to have attorney call me! They haven’t called I’ll have to wait to see if my account is credited!

I signed up for $5 for unlimited ability to ask questions of an attorney for a month. I couldn’t even get one lousy question answered. I wasted 2 hours typing out the situation I needed help with.

It is an urgent situation where I may be evicted in two days. I am a disabled elderly woman and I didn’t need to waste half the day trying to get an actual answer from this bogus business.
They don’t actually answer any questions for the $5 that they advertise. They send you a bulk fur $59 trying to get you to pay to talk to them. And if you don’t fall for it, they simply refuse to answer your question at all.

Firstly, I am sorry for any problems you have experienced with our site and that we were not able to get you a timely answer.
Most questions are responded to within minutes, but response time can vary sometimes due to things like time of day, but mostly it can be due to the amount of Experts online familiar with your specific issue. I have processed a refund of your deposit. The funds should be returned to your account within 3-5 days maybe sooner, depending on your credit processor.
Should you decide you would like to give us another try one day, you can email us [email protected] from the email address on your JustAnswer account. I had an issue with my new LG fridge went online to contact LG. What popped up was Ask My LG Tech online now Product Support & Live Chat Now. Perfect I will get an answer right away. Long story short. I paid a $1 for service strange but maybe thats just the way they do it & 7 days free? Whatever! Need to get new fridge fixed ASAP. Did what they asked answered what I new and was told to wait 30 minutes to 1 hour for a diagnosis & answer. Well I waited and waited still nothing the next day. Waited and waited still nothing until the 3rd day when I got a response that a teenager could have given me. Click this link for warranty repair it's under warranty. Clicked link and it went to internet dead zone. Still needed fridge fixed went to the place that I bought it at and had to set up service. Was kinda of mad that I had to do this, but whatever it was only a buck. WELL I get this bank statement saying that they took $40 plus out for a membership fee. Say What! You did not help me with my problem now your taking money from me too. Well I called to get my money back talk to Brian who was calm and promoting the company line and offer a super premium one time service for my problem that I solved on my own. NO why would I want that you didn't delivered the first time! Well we have a no refund policy and we sent you an email on 6/11 saying that your membership fee will be starting soon. NOPE was a lie I have 17 emails (most about rating there service) from them and told Brian not one of them mentions anything about this membership fee. WHY would I even want this if you didn't deliver the first time? I feel this is a scam they ease you into something smooth like and then wack you over the head with this fee. A very deceptive business model IMO! They should have in BOLD letters you will be charged this on this date unless you cancel here, press now. I never complain about anything and I definitely didn't want to do it here, but when they tell you they are going to put you on hold while they get my supervisor and then they hang up 6 seconds later thats all you need to know about this business. Just give me my money back you didn't deliver and I am definitly unhappy with the service

A quick search on the app store will give you all the information needed about this company. I signed up for their free 7 day trial, and without any email notification (as they claimed to give) was charged $47. This was supposed to be removed after a lengthy call cancelling the membership, and instead I was given another charge three weeks later for the same amount. Another call did not help, and even though I have removed all my information this company is still charging my card! I have contacted my bank to remove the charges and block this company from further charging my card, and somehow they skated around that and today I received another charge. I am going to have to cancel this card, my main one for all my accounts, a lengthy process.

I was sceptical with this process. But it was exactly what I needed to get some clarity on my situation. I like that you have the option to do a phone call for additional cost but can opt for the texting. *** was quick to respond. I would reccomend this.

The answer we received was valuable. The fact that you are signed up for a monthly subscription by default is shady I feel. My wife didn't understand that and the email to remind her went to her spam folder so we got charged $46 for the 1st month. I could see where someone could not catch the charges for a while and be out $46 per month.

The attorney laid out the options for dealing with the issue and provided me with links to the appropriate agencies.

This is definitely a great and helpful service! I live near a small town in a very remote area, so I don't have easy access to artifact experts and now I do!! Thanks for the help!

I was surprised by the knowledge of the laws of different states. I would use again and recommend to all.

Technician was extremely patient and persistent in resolving my issue with printer and router. HP technicians would not take ownership of the problem and 2X referred it back to HP Instant Ink, who had already said it was a new router hook up to printer issue. This technician saw that it was indeed a router issue and also HP Instant Ink issue. HP Ink was closed until Mon. morning and I needed a solution asap. Very thankful his expertise and working with me to resolve the issue!!!
