Genz-Ryan sucksWe called a week ago to have them come to our home to install water line before our new fridge arrivedBill *** did the workThey charge $just to come out, no free estimatesBill *** spent hours at our home trying to upsell every "problem" he could findOriginal quote was $5,for work plus other home improvementsHe spoke about guitars (mutual interest w/ my husband)Husband did not assent to $5k and was not sure about price for "only" the water line, which Bill quoted at $Husband said he didn't want to pay him $for nothing, but the quote seemed really highBill then told him if he did not take his quote, then he just got "paid $to talk about guitars."

Bill *** said he'd help us out on the $1k quoteHe would get our price down $by reducing the two year warranty down to daysGreatWhen my husband asked why the quote was so high, Bill said "the company has to pay for their trucks, and healthcare costs for employees." Not that this was a difficult or complex jobThey needed to pay for their high overheadNiceThey do not quote by the hour or materials, just by jobI asked manager Jeff *** for an itemized bill, and was told it was a "complex formula" they had in their computers that calculated priceI asked for that formula, and he said he would not give it to meI asked for three quotes to other customers on three comparable jobs, he would not give it to meWe priced materialsCopper pipe, $Hammer arrester $12, water shutoff valve $Flexible water line from pipe to fridge, $Copper T-bracket and elbows, solder, let's call it $Soroughly $in materialsMileage? I would assume that was part of the $fee to look and give bidWith the $for estimate/mileage charge and the $in materials, all that's left is the charge for being a plumber and time spent on job$That being said, he did a good jobI respect those that work and that people should be paid for that workI know companies have costs of their own - nothing is for freeTHAT being said, we were robbedThere is a difference between being charged for work at a fair comparable rate, and getting GOUGED because of ignoranceI don't believe this was fairAnd the fact the manager just brushed me off and did not even attempt to work with equals a BAD experienceCaveat emptor, my friendsBuyer bewareWe were uninformed and we needed the work done, but people should not be taken advantage of like thisPlease think twice before working with themAt least arm yourself with this info and protect yourselvesThe Genz-Ryan jingle has been adjusted a bit"I HATE those guys!"

As a customer for about years, Genz-Ryan has provided excellent customer service and very knowledgeable Service Technicians The Service Techs are always willing to answer questions and take the time to show you how to optimize your heating/cooling system for efficiency and comfort

Everyone at Genz-Ryan was helpful and friendly Dave *** was a fantastic technician He explained what he was doing, what I needed and suggested solutions I highly recommend Genz-Ryan

We had Genz-Ryan out to our home for a seasonal HVAC check Steve Mwas on time, courteous and extremely knowledgeable He explained all of the options, answered all of my questions and was very timely I would certainly hire Genz-Ryan and specifically ask for Steve again Highly recommended

Matt did a very good job explaining options and giving his recommendation He did the plumbing task quickly and clean up was excellent Things now work well with the plumbing issue we had
One area where there could be improvement - The company had just launched some new electronic work order write up of options, that started the very morning my appointment was set for Matt tried for over hours to use the new software and made many calls to get assistance In the end, he presented options on paper and I made a decision I felt bad for Matt My suggestions, don't start any new software out in the filed until after everyone has been trained and tested for competence Lucky I had the day off I was not in any hurry Matt was a nice guy and I felt bad for him But he did a top notch job on the plumbing (and that's what I'd expect for the prices charged)

This company is not honest, overcharge people and give multiple answers that are different from their promisesThey do not have set prices and change their prices as they see fitI was told that a pressure test was $1,and was charged $2,I asked to get an itemized statement for their justification of the amountI have not received a statementI received a bill for a permit for work done that was never done and for a city inspectionThis business is not customer driven, rather than deep pocket driven and deceitful! I am telling everyone that wants a recommendation for a plumber to look elsewhere!

We contacted Genz Ryan to install a mini-split AC system with units to one compressorMy husband met with Noah, the sales personNoah made it seem like a straightforward installHe didn't mention or seem to anticipate any problems, other than the fact that we would need to move one plant to make space for the compressor on the side of our houseMy husband and Noah agreed on a dateWe did not receive anything in writing, but were given an estimate of the costThe installers arrived on the scheduled dateJason was professional and niceThe other installer, Ryan, was confrontational, rude and argumentativeHe kept throwing up roadblocks; reasons why they would not be able to do the installationHe said the condenser needed to be put on the patio instead of on the side of the house as Noah had planned, and he said there were condensation/drainage issue that made it an unworkable due to the location of the path around our houseRyan called his supervisor, and told my husband "w

I was not home when he arrived for my scheduled appointment but he left a note, and when I called back he arrived a couple of hours later and took care of everything

If you have a simple project with a straightforward installation, save yourself some money and call Lowes or Home Depot BUT if it is complicated and difficult to install call Genz Ryan They are expensive but it can be money well spent as they do the job professionally and competently Because of more current requirements, our replacement water heater needed to fit a too small space They made it workThey even vacuumed out the years worth of dust bunnies that were behind the old heater and impossible for me to reachGreat service

Thank you very much for the quick description of our problem and reassuring us that an immediate repair was not needed Honesty goes a long way We'll be calling you when the repairs are actually needed! Hopefully in a long time though :)
