We have used Genz-Ryan for several years now and have been very pleased with their service

We had Genz-Ryan out yesterday to replace our water softener and water heater The main Service Technician we had was Bill *** He was very professional, knowledgeable, helpful, a hard worker and friendly Bill reviewed what was happening to our appliances and then made a plan and shared it He gave different options with different costs that were helpful to choose from Once we chose an option, he started on it right away and worked on it till it was done He brought in another employee, so it was completed that day Bill did a great job was and cleaned up after too! We would recommend Bill *** from Genz-Ryan anytime!

Our home's hot water heater broke down and we called Genz-Ryan They had someone out to our home within hours Dave *** was courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and just a pleasure to work with He promptly fixed our water heater, and answered all of our questions I would highly recommend Genz-Ryan Heating and Plumbing, and Dave *** specificallyThanks

I am writing to request the Revdex.com investigate the pricing practices of Genz-Ryan to determine if they are legal and ethical Genz-Ryan has customers authorize work on Tablets carried by their Technicians The authorization form does not clearly identify the costs of parts, labor, or warrantiesMultiple projects are bundled together into one work order An array of options are presented with minimal explanation of what is included and presented as Bronze, Gold, Platinum, etcWarranties are included but costs are not identified
I paid $4,to have a new Water Heater installed and a Pressure Reducing Valve replaced I was presented with several options ranging from do nothing to a cost including a new water softener of over $7, I agreed to the Water Heater and PRV valve I was completely unaware a two year warranty was included and no where are the costs of the warranty specified, nor was it presented as an option The description of the Water Heater

David A was the Genz-Ryan technician who performed routine maintenance on the plumbing, including the hot water heater, in my homeHe checked all the faucets, toilet tanks, showers, etcand drained the hot water heater I appreciated his helpfulness in answering related questions I had
David arrived on schedule, was careful in the home, friendly and professionalI appreciated his skill and his demeanor and recommend him in this role to others

Noah F from Genz-Ryan came out to my house regarding my water heater Courteous, extremely knowledgable and provided first class service My first experience with Gens-Ryan I will call them first next time because of Noah's professionalism

Excellent service with a very thoughtful service tech Lance C***He went out of his way to help us get a temporary fix of hot water until final broken pipe fix can be doneAnd he came out in the middle of a blizzard ! Thanks Lance :)

The Genz Ryan tech did an excellent job in servicing our furnace His inspection was very thorough and he left a number of service options as well as alerting us to potential concerns Very courteous and clean

Genz is fantastic, they Zac understood the issue quickly and repaired itHe was courteous and professional and ensure I understood everything that was needed and everything he did to resolve our issue

We had a service plan with Genz-Ryan and after the first two visits they made to their house, it's two strikes, they're out
First, we were charged extremely high prices for service and labor ($for a $part to be installed) The technician sold us an upgraded motor for our furnace We do not know how to install any HVAC equipment, so to be honest, we just paid it
Second, we had a technician come to do an A/C checkup and not only was the service tech rude to me, but my wife He also answered a phone call from his dispatcher on speakerphone while working in our house - the dispatcher told him he needed to go back to his last call because he was there an hour ago and their A/C did not work He responded very sarcastically and made fun of the customer We felt this was unprofessional Then, as he was leaving, I asked if we could have the old part back that he had upgraded He responded by telling me that it was "his part now" and that I could not have it back He put it in his bag and told me "possession is 9/of the rule, so it's not yours anymore." I will never know why he wanted to take that part and not give it back to me, but the next part of this story is what made me very suspicious
Just one day after the service had been completed, our A/C did not work I called Genz-Ryan to have them come back and fix our A/C They sent a technician back the same day I called Apparently the original technician had wired the unit incorrectly and forgotten to turn the power back on The technician who ultimately made the repair made an excuse that it might have been "a long day" for the guy who made the mistakesMy opinion, Genz-Ryan -- don't send a technician out who cannot perform the service
I called Genz-Ryan to try and reach a solution, and fortunately, their customer service manager allowed me to get out of the service plan Based on this experience, and experiences other customers I know have had, I would not recommend this business to anyone I know

Saturday morning we woke up and no heatMy husband tried to light the pilot with no luckWe called Genz-Ryan and within an hour or so we had Zach B arriveHe also called and let us know he would be at our home in minutes He knew right away it was the ignition and had the part to repairHe was very professional and very pleasant Although we don't want anymore issues with appliances we would be happy to have him back

I'd leave zero stars if I could I made a mistake I agreed to have Genz Ryan install a water heater and some venting in my home I signed a contract to have them install a water heater and some venting for a couple of sinksThe estimate was over $7,which seemed high to me (There estimate for a Rinnai Tankless Water Heater was over $14,500) When I thought about it over the weekend, I decided it was too much money
I called over the weekend and talked with the sales person and told him I didn't want to do the ventingIn the awkward conversation the guy giving the estimate kept saying they are not a "time and materials" plumber and said he wouldn't give me a detailed estimate The next Monday, a plumber came and installed the water heater for $3, They were supposed to install an outlet which I told them not to do and was assured there would be a credit for the fact that their electrician would not have to come out
I found the exact same water heater on line for $from Home Depot which means they charged $3,for half of a day of installation for the water heater The water heater was installed in the exact same space No new venting or piping was neededThe water heater works fine They did a great job installing it but the pricing from Genz Ryan is sketchyI'm not sure if it was the person who priced out my job or if it was the organization as a whole but they refused to give an itemized invoice for the service I never received an paid invoice or a credit for the electrician that never came
It seems like they need to gouge customers to pay for all the "cute" advertising they are doingAgain, I agreed to this for which I take responsibility but I'm hoping this review might protect others from using them
Go somewhere else There are plenty of plumbers out there who are more honest in their pricing then Genz-Ryan

My husband and I had Genz Ryan come out to look at our water heater because our flammable vapor sensor went bad on our hot water heaterThis was under warranty by the manufacture, but we decided to get service faster than the manufacture could provideGenz Ryan came out to our home and the service technician Joel made a statement about not being familiar with the newer unit in our homeWe let him look around for a few minutes to see if he could find anything additional wrong with the unitWe then requested that we get an emailed receipt to be able to view the charges of the labor and partsWe never received thisI contacted Genz Ryan to request an additional copy be sentThis was sent and the charges are lumped as oneI contacted the customer service and asked about an itemized bill and was told that they don't do thisHow can we verify the charges of the service call without any pricing break downAdditionally, I was told that if I started the monthly service plan with them

I awoke in the middle of the night smelling a burnt type odor coming from the lower level of my houseThe furnace was making a terrible noise and running extremely hot, so I turned it off
I called Genz Ryan up first thing in the morning, they sent Steve Mover before noon to take a look at my furnace, it was determined that the blower motor burnt out, causing the heat exchanger to crack due to the extreme heatThey began removal of the year old furnace that afternoon and installed a new furnace that eveningI am very satisfied with their quick response to this emergencyEveryone was very professional, knowledgeable,courteous, and proficient in their work

I called them to repair an exhaust fan on a yo water heater that the had installed and was under warranty Two guys showed up and after an hour they came up from the basement with a sales pitch to replace my water heater, water softener and install a filtration system for a total greater than $10, I called them because my wife would be home alone to during the visit and I naively thought a company like Genz-Ryan would not try to take advantage of her The were making up dramatic stories about how are water wasn't safe for our children with out their products After we asked them to just replace the exhaust fan it took them a tota of four hours to finish the job Final bill for the warranty repair was $ This is nearly the price of a new water heater I can not under emphasize how disappointed I am that I called Genz-Ryan Never again

I responded to a Genz-Ryan duct cleaning special emailed to meI called and spoke with ShelbyShelby provided excellent serviceShe setup three appointments for me...the one for the duct cleaning, one for the annual furnace tuneup, and one for the annual plumbing checkupJoe and Glenn were at my home this morning to clean the house and dryer ductsThey were very thorough in providing a most comprehensive duct cleaningAs a result, my furnace and clothes dryer are sure to perform more efficientlyGone are the residuals of pet hair, every day dust, and remodeling dust built up through the yearsI am so grateful for their excellent serviceWhile other companies may advertise less cost for duct cleaning, I doubt that their results will be as effective as Joe and Glenn providedWhat I learned in googling and reading to educate myself about duct cleaning is that a low cost duct cleaning done in a short amount of time does not produce optimum results

We are so grateful for the quick and thorough response we received from both your company and Joel P Our plumbing problem was damaging our fixtures as well as prohibiting us access to any clean water Although we needed both a new water softener and iron filter, all was taken care of, installed and operational within a few hours Joel made sure we understood what we needed to do, how to most effectively operate our equipment, and we cannot thank you all enough for being there when we needed you We only hope that this reaches you personally, and that you will thank Joel again for us
