Thank you for contacting The Chicago Tribune regarding the consumer's concern.We tried to contact the consumer to further discuss this matter but we are unable to reach them. We have made a follow up to the District Manager and requested to have a service in the consumer's area to ensure delivery of their newspaper to the side door. We want to assure the consumer that our distribution management team is actively working closely with the contractor to get these service issues resolved. I am rejecting this response because:  The issue has not been resolved.  The paper is still not being delivered!  Again the address is [redacted]., Valporaiso IN 46383.  This subscription was initiated on the 19th of October with a promised start date of October 20th.  They process a charge on my credit card on the 20th, yet still have not managed to deliver a newspaper.  Every time I call the 1 800 TRIBUNE number I get falsely reassured that they will look into the problem and I'll get a paper tomorrow.  IT HAS BEEN A MONTH!!!!  I just now hung up with them and once again; very sorry, we'll look into to, you'll get a paper tomorrow.......blah blah blah blah.

information that you provided, and after researching this concern, we found our records do not reflect a cancellation at expiration (November 2017).   Due to our continuous subscription, delivery of the Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Sunday newspaper continued until January 02, 2018. Here at the Chicago Tribune, we pride ourselves on offering our customers the best service possible.  Therefore, please disregard bill dated 1/07/18 and recent collection letter.  The charge of $29.27 associated with delivery, has been closed-out.  Account now reflects zero balance and ARMs Solution was notified to cease collection.  Please be assured this does not affect your credit rating. I am rejecting this response because:  Newspaper is still not delivered ontime. The second delivery team is putting the paper by the garage door, but it takes 2 teams to do so. The delivery person assigned to this community continues to throw the paper by the curb or sidewalk between 820a-845a, which is unacceptable. The other day when we had bad rainstorms, I drove around to find ALL the newspapers were by the curb, which means they were all soaked as was mine due to the driveways slanted toward the street & the paper lying in water. You couldn't get the papers apart & the printing was running into each other. I've called the Mgr several times, but he refused to return my calls on this ongoing issue. In all the years we've had the Chgo Tribune, this is the absolute worst Customer Service & delivery.  My neighbors are all read to quit. I'd so disgusted I would too if it weren't for collecting the papers from neighbors/doctor/dentist in the area & taking them to the local [redacted] for the homeless dogs & cats. I just don't know where to turn to for help. Very upsetting to say the least. I've always thought of the Chicago Tribune as being an upstanding company...I guess not. If they don't have any ethics as a company, how can you rely on what is being printed in their papers?

Our policy is in line with what many other newspapers and subscription service companies have already put into place. As a Chicago Tribune...

subscriber, our consumers are subscribing for a period of time not for individual papers. We can credit vacation hold which are more than 30 days. In addition, we are on continuous subscription, which means that consumer's paper is delivered and billed without any action on their part until cancelled. For them to cancel or make changes to their subscription, they must call the customer service center at 1-800-TRIBUNE. Consumer must notify us by phone or they will be charged for any newspapers delivered prior to cancellation.On another note, our records show that consumer's account was stopped effective March 9, 2016. We have waived the balance amounting to $124 to zero out the consumer's account.Regards,[redacted]Special Services

Revdex.com:  I have received copies of the Post Tribune for the past 3 days.  On 2-11 and 2-12 I received 2 copies so there is still a problem with the delivery contractor.  Maybe a congressional investigation will solve the problems.  That's meant as a joke not a formal request!
