I tried to transfer my policy from CO to NC and suddenly received a $bill! I will begin with December 11, 2018, when after more than several weeks we were informed that our claim was rejected Before I lay out the event that took us to this point, it is relevant that you know that Joe Stauffer, my husband, was a reliable State Farm claim Repfor years We have been State Farm policy holders and advocates for almost yearsIf you have our claim, you can read the reason that our claim was deniedThe field agent made an assertion from pictures (that Dry Force took, not State Farm)That agent extrapolated that the pictures showed too much water damage over too long a time, insinuating that we did not take appropriate/ sensible action to prevent itIn contrast, our restoration people, who actually saw the damage, professionally commented that it may be only a week oldIn addition, the construction lead said the wood was in such good condition that it was not damaged over a long period of timeKeep in mind the State Farm field agent only came after the dry-out was completed and damage bagged and removedFirst and foremost, we could not tell anything was wrong: our dishwasher (the culprit) was leaking from the bottom, and water was apparently traveling under a hidden wall closed in by a huge 8-foot island of wall and graniteThere was absolutely no way to even envision water was lurking under this islandFurthermore, three professionals, that we called, couldn’t tell where the leakage wasThen one plumber suggested it might be the dishwasherHow could an insurance company accuse us of not attending to something that we couldn’t know and couldn’t see? Surprisingly now most awful unprofessional and harmful

I had been with State Farm Insurance in Utah for yearsUpon moving to Oregon, I transferred my insurance to a local officeWhen I moved I stored all my belongings in Storage Cubes and rented a furnished aptMy agent in Ut told me my belongings were covered by my homeowner's insurance and so I did not take any additional insurance with U-Pack StorageI found a permanent home in months and when my Cubes were delivered I discovered two of them had leakedThe water created mold and the whole mess ruined some furniture, rugs and a 50" tvWhen I called State Farm they told me this was not covered because it was not accidentalDo they think the water was put in there on purpose? They were awful to meI'm so disappointed, but upon talking to other people I'm hearing lots of negative experiences

My rates were raised I was told it was due to a third party vendor about my mileage
