We have investigated the issues raised by Mr.*** in your letter dated June 24, 2015, which was received in our office on June 30, 2015. Based on our review of Mr***’s complaint; he states his AOL accounts have been compromised and he is unable to access them. In the
process of registering an account with AOL, prospective members must enter personal information into a series of registration screensAt this time we are unable to verify the accounts in question therefore; we are unable to release any specific information regarding the accountsA representative of our office has contacted Mr. *** and provided him contact information should he be able to provide the proper verification. Please also note that after days of inactivity on a free AOL Account, the account is terminated and any saved or stored emails are deleted and not retrievable. AOL membership is governed by our Terms of Service (TOS)The TOS states the following about use of the AOL services: Your username and account may be terminated if you do not sign on a Service with your username at least once every daysIf you are registered for fee-based or term-specific Services, we will not terminate your username or account unless they are subject to being terminated for some other reasonIn addition, an individual Service may require you to sign in and use the Service periodically to remain active on that ServiceIf you fail to remain active on a specific Service, we may deactivate your access and use of that Service.
