Protect America has received the complaint submitted by Ms [redacted] Upon review of the account, we determined that we never received the required day cancellation notice required to cancel servicesWe subsequently tried to contact her several times over the course of the year with regards to the outstanding balance due on the account but were unable to establish contactThe account was turned over to a 3rd party collections companyPlease contact the collection agency for further information

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because my wife talked with the same gentleman several times prior to making the purchaseWe were moving into a new house and knew we could not prioritize the returnHe assured her customer service was a top priority and that the contract terms were flexibleThere was another conversation about this after the purchaseI did not reject options to cancel the contract as statedMy understanding was the options were to continue with a security system but on different termsI realized at that point that customer service was not a top priority of the companyWe are not interested in a security system at this timeI have never said that we would not purchase a security system in the futureNow, as a result of how poorly we have been treated, we will likely not consider a Protect America system in the future Regards, [redacted]

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: at no point during my phone conversations with the representative who asked me not to cancel did he say that my account couldn't be put on hold unless I signed a new contract He did discuss a new contract with me, and I told him I was hesitant to sign one until after my remodel when I could ensure the new equipment he discussed with me would be compatible with my new windows Had he explained to me that my account could not be placed on hold without a new contract, I would have again requested to cancel my service Regards, [redacted] ***

Protect America has received the rejected offer submitted by Ms [redacted] **On the first sales call, the sales representative recommended that she protect the home since it was in her possession but he insisted that it was entirely up to her to make that decisionOn the second sales call, she accepted the offer and the sales person was upfront with the terms and conditions of the contract including when the payment beginsHe stated that the payment starts immediately but we will be able to apply a credit for the month and at most two months for not using the systemHe did make a note on the account that they were doing renovations to the house on the callMs [redacted] understood that

“Thank you for allowing us the opportunity to address Ms [redacted] concernsAfter our review, we found that during the alarm event on 4/1/ our monitoring station was unable to reach Ms [redacted] and her emergency contact via the telephone numbers provided to Protect AmericaOnce the monitoring station was unable to contact our customer, they proceeded to contact Ms [redacted] local jurisdiction to request the dispatch of the authorities; this occurred at 11:43pm EST Generally, once the monitoring station has contacted the customer’s local jurisdiction, the responsibility of the alarm response falls to the authorities and their ability to respond to the emergencyWith this being said, we show that the system worked and the alarm event response was performed correctlyWe ask that if Mrs [redacted] has any further questions to contact us at ***-***-*** Sincerely, Customer Protection”

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I went through the other options given by this company VERY carefully several timesThey want more money to set me up with a different system and incur more of a monthly costSounds like bait and switch to me! I am not adding more money to this crazinessI was paying for a service that was not being provided and still is notThere were other options provided: Wi fiAnd I have a small modem that is already full to capacity and is very slowThe only wifi available in my areaAnd Cell phone usageMy cell does not get cell service without being plugged into a wifi boosterThe person I talked to called me a liar about this and said his map said I have cell service out here in the countryI do NOT! And will not be tolerated being called a liar! Nobody in our little part of Pennsylvania has cell serviceThe closest cell service is Uniontown, PAIt is approxmiles from here and is an actual townThat's where I use my cell phone, when I am shopping or a doctor's office, not hereThere is no cell reception hereI did not decline their help, they want my to pick another option that will not work hereAnd at an extended costThis company needs to get it's act togetherI will not be paying them for anymore fake coverageI think this is a scamI am not pleased about being used and that they think they can continue to charge me for something that I cannot use in my own homeI have talked to them each time they have called and it's always the exact conversationThe last person, who also called me a liar, said I was rejecting any changesAs you can see they did not offer me a realistic changeScam artists to get my money regardless of what I sayThey ad lib and write reportsTry taping one and you will see that I am rightI want them to leave me alone Regards, [redacted]
