I requested a copy and the copy the manager gave me was 100% illegibleHe stated that it was from an old systemNone of the terms were readableWhat I've learned so far is the staff there is highly untrained and will do anything to keep more of your money and tell you what ever you want to hear to joinI also don't have a scanner to scan in a copy but a copy of their copy would literally look like a black smudge.They would be able to provide a terrible copy upon request to Revdex.comthat's what they did to meHowever I'm sure an argument will ensueTheir staff is very aggressive

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: Again, Planet Fitness is unethical, frauds, cheats, and liars They never informed me to cancel membership via a certified letter When I began to speak with them on the phone, prior to March 2014, I made it clear that I needed to cancel my membership because I no longer live in the area and it made no sense to pay for a membership if it wasn't being used The Manager at the [redacted] ***, [redacted] facility informed me I had to either come to the facility and cancel in person, or write a letter and cancel my membership I am a disabled veteran with a left leg amputation and in a wheelchair I have no transportation so I had to write a letter to cancel the membership I am NOT going to pay them money because of their incompetence and unethical behavior regarding settlement of this account They have days to resolve this issue, or I am going to escalate this matter and file formal complaints for their unfair business practice with both the Texas State Attorney Generals Office - Consumer Fraud Division, and the Federal Trade Commission Frauds, and Thieves that Planet Fitness appear to be should not be permitted to operate facilities in the State of Texas Regards, [redacted]

Dear Sir/Madam: After further investigation, it was found that Mr [redacted] transferred his membership to our Evanston, IL location in April Despite frequent usage of the club, as shown by our usage report, by Mr [redacted] , as a courtesy was granted a full refund of $ Any further refund will need to be given by the Columbus Club as each Planet Fitness is an independently owned and operated and Planet Fitness Evanston cannot refund more than it collected from Mr [redacted] Again Planet Fitness Evanston is unable to refund any payments in excess of what Planet Fitness Evanston collected from Mr [redacted] ’s credit cardMr [redacted] was informed on September 15, that his refund was submitted on September 14, and will take 3-business days to reflect on his account If you require any additional information, please give us a call at ( [redacted] Thank you! What kind of business calls their customers liars? [redacted] was extremely rude and took back everything she promised in FebruaryCompany policy is the customer has to go into the storeIf that's the case and I'm a liar, how did you manage to cancel it now like you claim? You cancelled it because my daughter went I to the store and spoke with your staff requesting to cancelShe was also told by staff that it said in big letters not to give us any type of refund that was promisedPF also hasn't responded to my complaint about operating illegally She was underage and signed up for the Black Card or whatever it's called I nor her father signed for thisPF has no legal contract which has been reported to the State of RI Regards, [redacted]

The consumer is in RFC Return For Collection I cannot physically cancel this consumer until she pays the fees owed We received no cancellation form which can be filled out at our offices Nor did we receive a letter requesting cancellation

As per Planet Fitness Policy, all members signed and agreed to the terms that come with their individual Black Club MembershipsOn or around the 17th of each month, Planet Fitness will deduct $per monthly membership dues, and there will also be an annual fee of $billed each year on or around the first of AprilPer the terms highlighted on the agreement, in order to cancel the monthly membership and stop the billing of the monthly membership on the 17th of each month, the club requires written notification by the 10th of the month delivered to the club in person or via certified mailWhen a letter is certified, the member will receive notification from the post office upon delivery to the clubThere is no commitment on all memberships; therefore, they can be cancelled at any time without having to pay a buyout fee but all other billing terms must be met leading up to a cancellationIf the accounts are not in good standing, they past due fees must be paid before cancellingWithout proper cancellation procedures followed by the member(s), the membership will remain active At no time will the billing stop if the memberships are not used, the billing continues per the agreement and will continue billing until proper cancellation procedures have been followedIn addition, a $service fee will also be applied for each month the Monthly Membership Fee or Annual Membership Fee is returned uncollectable for reasons including, but not limited to, non-sufficient funds, expired credit cards, cancelled credit cards, overdrafts and closed accounts As of 1/29/2018, all accounts have a past due fee on the accounts: [redacted] past due $ [redacted] l past due $ [redacted] past due $ We have gone ahead and cancelled the memberships bypassing the outstanding balances as a courtesy to the membersIf they wish to return as members, the past due fees must be paid before rejoining and utilizing the gymsThere will also be no refunds given for any previously billed dues A copy of all three agreements are attached for reference If the member has any questions, they can contact the gym at 614-833- Thank You, Planet Fitness Canal Winchester, Ohio

To whom this may concern:Unfortunately to be able to cancel, Mr [redacted] would have to pay the balance owed on his account, and again would have to be in person or via certified mail He himself stated, in the statement provided by you, that he was told twice the two ways to cancel, which is in person or via certified mail and that he neglected to do so In our system at the club it shows we spoke with him on January 6th, in regards to cancelling and that he was aware of how to go about discontinuing his membership His monthly dues did not start to accrue until November 2015, had he cancelled prior to, he would not have had a balance I understand he feels the contract is misleading, but, by no means do we hide anything from the members In the contract signed by Mr***, if read thoroughly, the second bullet on the membership agreement states "If you have a minimum monthly term, your account below will be billed for a minimum of months and will continue at the monthly rate above until you cancel in accordance with this agreement." I apologize for any confusion, but he did sign the contract stating that he fully understood the agreement and its terms If further questions or concerns he is more than welcome to contact the club at any time

I was told about the initial charge of $for the first year as my membership was purchased months priorI was not given any notice that they were renewing my membership for another year, I went in shortly after noticing the charge having not been to this gym in months and was told that they "do not do refunds" and that I should have cancelled if I didn't want to be chargedwell I was cancelling and have no intentions of ever going back, it is bad practice to automatically assume someone wants to enter into another contact with a businessHad this not happened I may have come back when I had the spare cash, but now I will not, I have taken my money to a much better business who does not treat their customers so I have reviewed the response submitted by the business and have determined that the response does not satisfy or resolve my issues and/or concerns in reference to complaint # [redacted] Regards, [redacted]

Mrs [redacted] called our Bullhead City location about four months ago requesting to cancel over the phoneOur manager informed her that she would need to come to the gym or send in a certified letter, she said thank you and that was the end of the conversationMrs [redacted] called back at subsequent date and again asked if she can cancel over the phoneOur manager once again told her she would need to come into the club or send a certified letterMrs [redacted] was not happy with this responseOur manager offered to transfer her membership to a club closer to her home so she could visit that club in person to cancel however Mrs [redacted] was not happy with those solutions We make every effort to be transparent with our customers around our membership rates and cancelation policies Our employees review in detail the methods of cancelation as written in our membership agreements before the prospect joins our facilityWe also thoroughly review that following a member’s minimum term, his/her membership will continue month-to-month with no commitment The member receives a copy of these policies and procedures once they are reviewedMrs [redacted] was emailed a copy of her contract after joining to the email listed on her contract (attached) As a courtesy we have cancelled Mrs [redacted] ’s membership Per the membership agreement Termination of Membership and Monthly Billing: To cancel your monthly membership and stop the billing of the Monthly Membership Fee on the 17th of the month, the club requires written notification by the 10th of the month delivered to the club in person or postmarked via certified mail to the club address listed aboveIn order to cancel your membership prior to the billing of the Annual Membership Fee, the club requires written notice as described above on or before the 25th of the previous monthThe Annual Membership Fee is fully earned when received and is non-refundable Thank you, Planet Fitness Arizona Management

Good Afternoon, My name is Joe W I am the Club Manager at the Pickerington Planet Fitness, located at Hill RdNPickerington OH, I am writing in response to Complaint ID that was issued by former member Mr [redacted] (Membership number [redacted] Mr [redacted] states in the opening of his complaint that he simply, "went to the gym and the Manager requested for my identification card to be copied on file" This statement is falseOn the morning of 1/24/17, at 9:11a.m Mr [redacted] enter the club and handed his membership card to our Customer Service Representative- Christina Paquette to be checkto the club I was also present at the front desk during this time and upon scanning his card Christina notified Mr [redacted] that we would need to take his picture for our membership system because he did not have one on file Mr [redacted] rudely refused, stating that he was not going to allow his picture to be taken for our system Mr [redacted] was immediately confrontational with herUpon hearing his aggressive tone toward my employee I stepped in to introduced myself as the club manager and began to explain to him why this was our policy in hopes of defusing any concerns that he had I explained to Mr [redacted] that member pictures are required as a form of identification for member recordsWithout having a picture on file we are unable to verify that the person who using the membership card is indeed the person who actually has the membership and that Planet Fitness reserves the right to deny membership to any person who refuses to have a picture taken for the membership file He began cursing at me and told me two times to cancel his membership I began to write up the cancellation form for him to sign when he began to walk away yelling over his shoulder to, "Cancel my F*G membership" I cancelled Mr [redacted] 's membership at HIS demand and at no point in the conversation was he asked to have his identification card copied I have attached a copy of Mr [redacted] 's signed copy of the terms of his agreementMost notably Section (which I have marked to indicate) Rules & Regulations which states: You agree to follow Planet Fitness' membership policies and club rulesPlanet Fitness may, in its sole discretion, modify the policies and any club rule without notice at any timeClub rules vary by location and all signs posted in a club or the premises or verbal communication shall be considered a part of the rules of Planet FitnessPlanet Fitness reserves the right to refund the pro rated cost of unused services and terminate your membership immediately for violation of any membership policy or club rule.In closing Mr [redacted] agreed to the terms of the membership agreement by signingBeing that his agreement was for the No Commitment Membership, his membership was cancelled at his own request and Mr [redacted] is not entitled to a refundIf you have any question please feel free to contact me at the club number below Joe WClub ManagerPlanet FitnessHill Road N.Pickerington, OH [redacted]
