Contacted was customer this morning about inconsistent delivery and customer's information was sent to the West Region Director of Distribution [redacted] to assist with correcting the delivery moving forward. If you have any further requests or questions please contact us at 800-284-3233.

Thank you for your email to The Sacramento Bee,  We apologize for the inconvenience however as per our records you have been credited accordingly to the days you were missed. I did submit a credit for the 03/06 paper you mentioned in your email so your expiration date was 04/20 will now be 04/21. As per the delivery the carrier was notified however I will forward your account information to the distribution manager and to our Operations manager to follow up with your delivery issues and have them resolved. I am rejecting this response because: Thank you for the response. [redacted] (collections agency) documentation states that, "California: As required by law, you are hereby notified that a negative credit report reflecting on your credit record may be submitted to a credit reporting agency if you fail to fulfill the terms of your credit obligations." Therefore, I paid the amount of $28.32 on 11/5/16 to [redacted] in order to avoid a negative impact to my credit score. I can provide receipt documentation if requested. Please kindly send me a reimbursement check for $28.32 to my mailing address, and I will consider the matter closed. Thank you.

Spoke with [redacted] about delivery and our regional manager [redacted] will work with distribution to correct delivery. Customer account was credited 3 Sunday missed deliveries.

This customer account was cleared on 10/29/15. The customer was stopped 10/8/15 with an amount due of $121.08. The account expired on 7/10/15. The Bee sent out the first renewal notice on 6/22/15. Then, sent one on 8/10/15 & 9/14/15. Since The Bee does not stop subscriptions on the expiration...

date, the account continued on the 90 day grace period. All renewal notices state, "The paper will continue automatically, unless The Bee is notified otherwise." If the paper was stopped in the expiration date, Mr.[redacted] account would have stopped back on 7/18/14. The renewal payment during that time was not posted until 7/23/14. The reason for the grace period is to allow time for the payment to be processed without an interruption in service. As a long time subscriber, we appreciate the readership and we have cleared the account from all collection efforts. We do hope Me. I will accept this ONLY if I get my paper delivered this Sunday.  They didn't deliver last week despite several calls and multiple emails.  This Sunday's paper has never been delivered, either, despite multiple emails and email responses from them promising the paper every day for the last 4 days.  I'll believe there's some VIP list and that there's an actual Distribution Director when I see it.  I've ALSO been promised on 3 separate occasions a call from a distribution manager which never happened. If my paper isn't received on Sunday morning (08/13), I won't want to be on some stupid list.  I'll want my refund.  And if any other paper is missed where I have to call or write again, I want a refund.

We continue to remind our delivery partners about the location of the deliveries. If this is an ongoing problem for a specific household, we ask to contact our Customer Service at 1-800-284-3233 in order to address the specific issue. As for the plastic bage, the Sunday products are delivered in pink bags each week. This is specific to our product called Yes! These colored bags are used to protect the paper from any damage (torn, wet, shredded, etc). Plus, as a standard business practice, it is much easier to confirm these deliveries are being made to the correct households. The Tuesday product called MVP does not have a specific bag and is used if there has been problems reported on damaged papers. Mr. [redacted] started a subscription on 5/16/14 through a 3rd party vendor. The account was started and paid for 13 weeks. As standard procedure, all subscriptions continue on a grace period unless The Bee is notified otherwise. In this case, a first renewal was sent on 7/14/14. A second one on 9/1/14...

and a third one on 10/6/14. On the renewal notices, it indicates the continuation of the subscription. As Mr. [redacted] stated, he did speak with someone and requested to stop the paper and clear the balance. The stop was processed on 11/1/14. Unfortunately, the balance was not removed. This has been resolved as of 12/8/14. The account is at a zero balance and all collection calling has been requested to stop immediately. We apologize for the problems Mr. [redacted] has experienced. This should have been handled on his first call. Please note, the subscription account will not reflect on Mr. [redacted]'s credit report. I am rejecting this response because:The business response is correct. We did subscribe to their publication. We canceled rather than renew our subscription. The papers continued to arrive, despite our repeated efforts to set the record straight. We paid $27.33 to a collection agency under protest to protect our credit. It was extortion. It is unforgivable. We reject the Busines's apology and demand a refund of $27.33. Oh, by the way, the Bee was delivered to our home on the 22, 23, and the 24th. Cease all deliveries at once!

I am rejecting this response because:  I do have an answering machine that is on all the time in addition to caller ID so that I can see who is calling.  They say they will credit me for 3 weeks.  Are they sending a check?   I will not accept the terms of  a credit from them by saying they will extend my subscription.  I get the paper 365 days a year so I will never get the credit I deserve unless I deduct it from my payment or they give me a refund check.  I finally received my paper yesterday and today but  is still being delivered near the sidewalk at then of my driveway instead on my front porch near the front door.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.  Although The Sacramento Bee neglected to state that my lack of delivery was solely a distribution error I am  pleased to finally have delivery of my paper which was the intent of my complaint.  Thank you!

Customer address was sent to the distribution office to ensure and confirm that they are removed from any delivery. Confirmation was sent from distribution that it has already been handled. If you have any further questions or concerns please contact us at [redacted].

Mr. [redacted]'s payment of $26.42 was received and posted for 5 weeks on 10/28/14. This paid the account to 12/2/14. The renewal notice for the next 13 weeks was on 11/13/14. The payment of $72.80 was paid on 11/25/14. With the payment, the account was updated with an expire date of 3/3/15. There were no further renewal notices sent after the 11/13/14 notice. However, we did receive another payment of $72.80 on 12/9/14 from Mr. [redacted]. This second payment has now paid the account to 5/31/15. We would be more than happy to send a refund of the second payment. I have tried to contact Mr. [redacted] this morning to review this with him. There was no answer, but I did leave a voicemail message. Just as a side note, The Sacramento Bee account will not effect Mr. [redacted]'s credit score in any way.
