I signed up for 4 weeks trial period on July 09, 2020 on the same day I was charged 39 euro for eCertificate for the course I haven't started yet. the eCertificate button on their website which is illogical to have in the middle of the mobile page given that many people navigate mobile devices with touchscreen and may accidentally touch where the button is, has no price tag nor asking for any confirmation after click(touch) didn't ask me for payment method either since they required me to enter paypal for 4 weeks trial period.
Desired Outcome
just refund me the course haven't started yet and I have no intention to buy eCertificate.

The only way to access the courses was to register a card number or paypal account which according to shaw academy it will only be used to verify to prevent fraud and will not be billed until after trial period,
they use this as loophole to make shaw academy an automatically pre-approved on paypal account. so any purchase made to shaw academy will no longer required my approval combine with their shady webdesign that make "One click purchase" in the middle of screen on mobile with no detail/price tag and no confirmation waiting for you to accidentally click it. once I realize this is a scam and I was charged I tried to contact shaw academy for refund and cancel my trial, only there was no cancel button so I had to email the company the same hour as I registered and request a refund.
they refused to process the refund for e-certificate and final assignment to a course I have not enrolled in and have no intention to purchase it.

Refund not given after money was taken despite trial being cancelled
I signed up for a 4 week trial from Shaw and when I realized it was not the learning style I prefer and that my classes were not readily available to me (which I believe is so that customers forget to cancel the trial) I decided to cancel my trial. I cancelled within the first week after going through six pages of offers I did not want and called the number provided after being bombarded with even more offers for a service I had no wish to continue. Weeks after I cancelled I checked my bank account and saw that shaw had taken the money out despite my trial being cancelled. When I attempted to email customer service they told me my cancellation was not processed and that they would not be refunding me. In one email the representative even spelt my email wrong which is absolutely unprofessional and i'm not quite sure how they were able to look through my account if he couldn't even spell my email right. I was then again faced with multiple "offers" to continue my service even after my refund was said to not be applicable.
Desired Outcome
I would like my account information to be deleted and a full refund seeing as I never once used this service after the first day and I would no longer like this company to have my bank details.

I emailed the email the company left me and they responded that they would indeed be giving me the refund. The refund was sent out on July 14th and O received it on July 18th.
I signed up to a free trial and I cancelled but have still been charged. I would like tk get a refund ideally.
I signed up for a trial with Shaw Academy on 4th June. I did not receive anything by way of a confirmation or instructions on how to find a course. I chased the company up on 15th June. I have not taken advantage of the course, or taken any lessons. The cancellation procesa was very difficult - you are presented with 10 different steps on the website (each one offering an incentive to stay), when you reach the final page you are told to call a number. However I couldn't call because I'm not allowed my phone in work. Again I've never used any of the courses on offer. The company has refused a refund.
Desired Outcome
To refund monies paid.

I did not activate a premium subscription during my 4 week trial. In fact I wasn't even able to login for 2 weeks as I did not receive any correspondence from Shaw Academy. I had to enquire what the process was for logging in. I logged into my account - thats as far as my interaction with the Shaw Academy website went. I have been charged for services which I have not used nor have the intention to use. The cancellation process was extremely difficult. I would there propose, based on the above, Shaw Academy have defrauded me of monies and additionally are not compliant with TCF guidelines. As I understand there are already several other complaints by other people who also have been charged for services they did not receive and it has been noted in The Guardian newspaper that they are currently under investigation.

Hi ***,
We are sorry to hear about your experience and inconvenience caused to you.
Having checked our records, we see that you have registered for a free trial and you have not cancelled it on time, so the payment was processed.
I confirm your refund will be reaching your account in 4-5 business days.
We have now stopped the auto renewal and please be assured that you will not be charged way forward until you reactivate it. The membership will be cancelled at the end of term.
Billed after attempting to cancel. Refund denied.
I was billed 69.99 at the end of a free trial period after stating that I was not interested in anything after the free trial. I also stated that I could not afford the fees due to the current healthcare pandemic. I spoke with two separate representatives on two separate dates. I advised both that I was only doing the 4-week free trial for personal development, and I was not interested in entering into a paid program nor could I afford the paid program. Despite me saying this on two separate occasions, I was billed. When I requested a refund, I was denied. Me stating that I didn't wish to continue or go pass *** free trial is a cancellation. They billed me for services that I stated I did not want. My email requesting a refund was denied. Also, neither of the phone numbers the reps called from initially were working numbers; I could not call back to the company on the numbers they called from.
Desired Outcome
I would like a full refund.

I accept the response because they returned the money the owed me. Even though they are mincing language with the "fine print", I know not to recommend them to anyone else.
Shaw academy has done to me like they did the others. I went through the lengthy cancellation process just for them to have no record of it.
I ended up not using my free trial as much as I thought so 2 weeks in I tried to cancel but got no where, one week later I went through all the steps and didn't get a confirmation so I did it again. I sent an email after the charge went through for a refund but they said "We are unable to process subscription refunds unfortunately after the trial expiry, as per the terms and conditions." You haven't charged me anything until the free trial expires so obviously you can't refund during, you'd have to do it after. I want my money back, plus the amount to cover my overdraft fee that you caused.
Desired Outcome
They charged me wrongfully and caused an overdraft, I want them to undo that damage

Refund wanted after mistakenly purchasing a ecertificate with no warming or confirmation.
Apparently there is a one click purchase option for an ecertificate when you are at the end of the course. I mistakenly clicked this thinking it would show me my final assignment task. I was then charged $56.96 straight away with no warning or confirmation. I still have no access to the assignment or certificate. I immediately requested a refund via their email address. I received no reply and I'm still waiting. I wrote a review online and was given a response 10 minutes later. I was told that they couldn't provide a refund because the certificate is instantly available. Since I have no certificate, they are keeping my funds without providing anything in return.
I did not enter my payment card details manually or even click a submit button to confirm the payment. My details were stored when I signed up for the free trial. The one click purchases cover the entire page when you are trying to look for the next assignment. I know of no reputable company that will hold funds for a service not used and I would like a refund as soon as possible.
Desired Outcome
I am seeking a full refund of $56.96 for the product that I still have no access to.

Charged with no invoice to warn of charge and no receipt afterward
I received a charge to my credit card with no prior invoice warning of the impending charge and not even a receipt to show it after the fact. I admit to beginning a free trial with Shaw Academy but was never able to even begin a lesson or watch a video. Weeks later I noticed a charge on my credit card from Shaw Academy. I promptly cancelled my account and asked for a refund as I never benefited from the membership and received no warning of a payment. I was put through several prompts before I was allowed to even cancel and the only communication I managed to get from Shaw Academy seemed like a copy and paste response to complaints saying no refund was possible.

Shaw's response only shows that they didn't even read my complaint. I never claimed to have attempted to cancel before the deadline. I didn't even remember their was a deadline approaching, I didn't even remember signing up for the free trial. My complaint is that I never received any communication from them about the free trial approaching an end and never even received a receipt of payment. It's as if they were hoping the payment would just pass *** my credit card bill without me noticing. I accept that they haven't done anything in breach of whatever contract I signed by clicking agree but it still shows bad business practice to be wholly unwilling to offer refunds at all when they can see that I've received no services or benefit from them.

Shaw Academy has unfairly charged me CAD70 for one month membership after my trial ended, even though I told them to cancel before period end.
I had registered with Shaw Academy for Graphic design one month trial. 3 days before end of trial I went online to cancel the trial. Turns out online cancellation isn't possible and need to speak with an advisor. So I paused my membership which was the next best option. Next day on 28 June'20 an advisor calls me (+XXXXXXXXXXXX) and asks me why i've paused. I tell them I no longer want to be a student and please cancel my memebership. Next day I see that there is no payment option on my account and no option to cancel. Also on shaw's website it says that if you don't see payment options then no charge will be made.
Next day after trial I see a charge of CAD70. I was shocked. I clearly told the agent to cancel. I made a complaint (#XXXXXXX) and an agent Mr. V didn't investigate my case and kept giving me free month stuff worth xyz. I didn't accept it and insisted for my refund. Then they stopped replying to my emails.
This is nothing short of a scam. Online cancellation option is not there, payment option access is not there, PHONE Cancellation doesn't count!!!
I need my refund and not freebies.
Desired Outcome
Need a refund of the unfair charge of CAD70.

I signed up via instagram for their free online classes. Their system would not allow me. I canceled service and was still charged. Dispute with PayPa
I signed up under the free trial. When signing up for actual classes, I received an error message under every date and time that was available and to email their support email. I waited a WEEK and NEVER GOT A RESPONSE.
I called their number to cancel and after confirming 4 TIMES and listening to an extremely PUSHY AUTOMATED PHONE SYSTEM try to offer me "better and better deals" each time I confirmed to cancel, I WAS STILL CHARGED FOR ANOTHER MONTH!! I am dealing with PayPal right now and sent them the warning from Trust Pilot on Shaw Academy inflating their reviews in a biased way. Here is what Trust Pilot is saying:

I was scammed and they took $59.99 from my account for an eCertificate I had not purchased.
I initially saw an ad on my Facebook ads claiming that I can take up an offer of 1 month free trials, where if I sign up, I can have access to Shaw Academy for a month. I was to be charged on the 2nd of August, 2020. In order to sign up for free classes, it is mandatory to provide with my Paypal or any other payment methods, and so I chose Paypal. The agreement was that I was not to be charged until the 2nd of August till my free trial ends. However, the next time I received and email claiming, "Congratulations, you've unlocked your eCertificate & final assessment". I was confused as to what this was and so I clicked the "Take Final Assessment" button (email attachment uploaded) which instantly charged my account. This payment was unauthorised, and they charged my PayPal since I authorised them to charge me after one month of free trial. I have tried contacting them several times for a refund but they only replied to one email, trying to push down their products and unwilling to give me a refund. I farther did more research on TrustPilot and Quota, in the last 2 days and over the course of several months, they have been scamming students with these fake emails. Their targets are students who are working on self development, by baiting us with "free trials". If you notice the email they sent me, there is no mention of a payment whatsoever, but they automatically charge your account as soon as you press on the link. I have tried calling them but none of their phone numbers are valid, and they only replied to one of my several emails. I would really appreciate if this can be investigated, I am also attaching the link to their TrustPilot to show that they are scamming soo many people. I did not click purchase eCertificate anywhere but they are claiming I purchased it.
Desired Outcome
I would like a refund as well as an apology for harassment and fraudulent business, as well as fraudulently taking my Paypal information

The company do not allow refund even if we do not use their plateform and did not want to have a membership
I wanted to try their courses online. It didn't suit my needs so I wanted to opt out before the trial period. The process was too long. I have been charged 3 months for the subscription I didn't use just because I had to go through 10 steps and more to cancel my free trial subscription. I asked them for a refund since I did not even go on the plateform once, they said it was impossible ...

I requested to cancel subscription 2 times, got confirmation email that its cancelled, but I still got charged total of £99.98 during 2 months.
I have signed up for Shaw Academy but then after seeing reviews about this being a scam, I immediately cancelled my subscription the next day. I had to go through a lot of hassle to cancel my subscription and even had to call their number to confirm it and even when I have called their number, it was still a big hassle and they was persuading me to stay with them. In the end, I got told that my subscription was cancelled and I received a confirmation email. Few days later, I kept getting emails from them saying to attend class and that my account is still active so I rang them again worried that I will be charged and that I have not been cancelled. They reassured me that they have cancelled my subscription and I asked the lady on the phone if I will not be charged and she reassured me multiple times that I WILL NOT be charged the monthly subscription fee being £49.99 as they will cancel my monthly payment subscription. The lady on the phone said I keep getting emails because I still had my free 4 week trial to stay with them, but again, she explained that NO CHARGES will be made after the trail expires, so I trusted them. First time I called to cancel subscription was on 07/05/20 then next time was on 11/05/20. on the 4th of July, I checked my bank statements and I have been charged by Shaw Academy once on 6th June 2020 £49.99 and then again on 4th July 2020, £49.99. I have contacted them first time by email saying that it is not fair because I cancelled my subscription on the second day after applying for it and got reassured that no charges will be made and that my subscription will be cancelled and that I have nothing to worry about yet I still got charged, and I asked to receive a refund for those two months of them secretly charging me without me knowing because its illegal telling their customers that they wont charge, yet they secretly charge me. Shaw Academy then replied with an email saying that my email is not recognised on their system, but that is a complete lie because I have just logged into my account and it works perfectly fine, still says that my membership status is active, saying I am on a 4 week plan and saying I have a premium membership. In my defence, I replied with an email asking how can they possibly not recognise my email if I have just logged in and clearly see that my whole profile is still active like as if I have not been cancelled at all. I also attached several screen images of my active account on their website, both of the transactions made through paypal, and BOTH of their confirmation emails saying that I have cancelled my subscription. I explained it to them that I demand a full refund for providing me with fake confirmation emails about account and subscription cancellation, while secretly charging me the monthly fee behind my back, as £99.98 total may not be a lot for some people, but some people like me have to work extremely hard for it and provide for others and companies like Shaw Academy that steal from people like me is just unbelievable and disgusting. After I sent them that email back with all the evidence of screen shots, transactions and demanding a full refund, I have not received a single email from them like as if they have blocked me. From what I have read online, there have been hundreds of complains from Shaw Academy Customers that have also been scammed just like me, so I am not the first and last person they will have scammed like this.
Desired Outcome
I am seeking the most fair solution, consisting of both £49.99 transactions for both months adding up to a total sum of £99.98 stolen from me, to be refunded within 1 to 2 weeks and a confirmation email from Shaw Academy that my account HAS been deactivated for sure and that I will NEVER be charged by them again.

This company practices deceptive business tactics and males it difficult for you to cancel a free trial. I tried this service through a , T-Mobile. I
After your trial period they make it difficult for you to cancel and I did email s cancellation request and I received a auto response not addressing my request.
Desired Outcome
I want my money refunded.

I cancelled my trial but they won't refund me, I have emailed them but there's no reply.
I cancelled my month's trial with Shaw Academy on the last day by email but because it was a Sunday (28th June 2020) and they only operate during office hours, it wasn't cancelled until the next day, Monday and £49.99 was still taken out of my bank account. They give no option on their website to cancel the trial otherwise, it has to be via email or phone number. I am profoundly deaf and need help to use the phone. I emailed them again to ask for a refund (Thurs 2nd July) but they have not replied this time. They say they will reply within 48 hours but they haven't, today is Wed 8th June. I used my bank card to secure the trial, its last 4 digits are ***. My Shaw Academy student number is XXXXX, although I did not take part in any of the classes.
Desired Outcome
I would like a full refund of £49.99 please.

I emailed Shaw Academy on 28th June to cancel my trial but they did not reply to the email until the next day, when the trial had run out and I was charged. They emailed me a confirmation that the trial was cancelled. But because they took the money out of my account anyway, I emailed them for a refund. They did not reply until 10th July despite saying they would get back to me within 48 hours. They said in this email they were offering me a year's membership. This is not what I want or asked for, I want a refund.

I emailed Shaw Academy on the last day of my free trial to cancel it at 14.47 on Sun 28th June 2020. They emailed me the next day, Mon 29th June to confirm my trial was cancelled. But they still took £49.99 out of my account and when I emailed them to ask for a refund they said I had full membership for a year. How can my free trial be cancelled yet I still get charged the full year? I want a full refund.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I am happy to accept the goodwill gesture of a full refund.
Shaw Academy has performed multiple unauthorized billing transactions despite my cancellation of their free trial and the deletion of my account.
I took their free one-month trial offer on March 2020. I cancelled it before the trial period ended.
I was shocked to see I was billed on April 16, one month after sign-up. I took this to their customer service and all they said was indeed, my account no longer renewed. "Gomes" of customer service denied my billing with this response:
"I see that your subscription is canceled on 16 April 2020, well within the trial period. Hence, you were not charged.
I also see that we have not taken any payments from you."
I was billed again in May 14. My card company attempted to recall my money but was unsuccessful. I requested ShawAcademy to reopen my ticket but they did not respond.
I was billed in June but I deliberately kept my card balance low so I would not be billed. They attempted to take money twice (June 11 and 12). Since it appeared that they were not receptive to my request for refund, I decided to have my account deleted in case of future transactions.
I asked their customer service (named Varney) to close my account on June 12, 2020, to which they responded on the same day. As of my checking last week, July 6, the Shaw Academy site says my account no longer exists.
I was shocked once more to see they billed me today, July 8, 2020. I have attached evidence regarding my account and the unauthorized bills.
In total, ShawAcademy billed me Php 1500.00 (roughly equivalent to 30 US dollars) and I respectfully request to be refunded the amount. I have provided multiple screenshots detailing my reports.
Desired Outcome
I am requesting a refund and for Shaw Academy to completely delete my account information.
Despite saying they did not take my money, it is clear from the name and the consistent billing that their system sees my account as "renewing".
Despite displaying on their website that my account no longer exists, they still hold my credit card details and continue to bill me.

Hi ***,
We have reviewed your complaint and tried matching your information on our database. As per our findings you have created two account s with us. One associated with the email "***@rpm.ph" which was created on 19 March and deactivated on 16 April. The second account was created on the same day using another email ID "***@rpm.pj" which was charged as you failed to cancel the subscription within the trail period. I signed up for 4 weeks trial period on July 09, 2020 on the same day I was charged 39 euro for eCertificate for the course I haven't started yet.
I signed up for 4 weeks trial period on July 09, 2020 on the same day I was charged 39 euro for eCertificate for the course I haven't started yet. the eCertificate button on their website which is illogical to have in the middle of the mobile page given that many people navigate mobile devices with touchscreen and may accidentally touch where the button is, has no price tag nor asking for any confirmation after click(touch) didn't ask me for payment method either since they required me to enter paypal for 4 weeks trial period.
just refund me the course haven't started yet and I have no intention to buy eCertificate.

To refund monies paid.
We have reviewed your account and the reason for charges. We would like to inform you that we do agree that we offered a 4 weeks of trial period with no charges, however we noticed that you have activated the premium subscription hence you have been charged .

I would like a full refund.
Hi ***,
I have reviewed your account as well as gone through your complaint.

I would like a full refund.

I registered for the 4/wk free trial and then I was charged $80.00+ (Two separate charges) on Tuesday July 7th even tho I cancelled my service. This was all without notice!!! I believe this is false advertising as I didn't even select a plan and don't even know what I paid for. I had sent an email to the company in the am but I received no response back.
I would like a refund for both charges . Especially the most recent one as that was made after I had tried to cancel my plan.

I would like a refund as well as an apology for harassment and fraudulent business, as well as fraudulently taking my Paypal information

False advertising-not free. misleading-Fake reviews by company on trust pilot. click bait -cleverly placed one click payment right next to courses.
Company says 28 days free sign up but charges your card. They have fake reviews made by themselves to up sell their products and services, false and mis-selling information. Their dash board is unethical , they have cleverly placed one click payments to your card, right next to study material. if u intend to get info , you've clicked and your card has been billed. In the time of Covid19, People like me are jobless, we just want to brush some skills for our resume and these guys are falsely advertising and ripping off for money. I have attached Trust pilot DASHBOARD claiming that the company has falsely advertised their services. my Email registered with them is ***@yahoo.com , They cancelled my subscription but not providing a refund. till date I never used their services nor will.
I have not availed their services or taken any of their courses or sat for any of their class. I would like a refund to my card.

YOUR WEBSITE SAYS FREE 28 DAY TRAINING OPTION AFTER WHICH YOU WILL BE CHARGED. HOWEVER I WAS BILLED FROM DAY ONE, APART FROM THAT YOUR DASH BOARD HAS ONE CLICK PAYMENTS AND CHARGES THE CREDIT CARD EVEN WHEN U ACCESS INFORMATION, ITS NOT ETHICAL TO BILL CC WITH ONE CLICK PAYMENTS. THIS OPTION IS CLEVERLY PLACED RIGHT NEXT TO VIEW COURSE TAB WHEREIN IT RESULTS TO PAYMENTS. ITS JUST NOT RIGHT WAY TO DO BUSINESS. AS YOU CAN SEE, I HAVEN'T ACCESSED ANY CLASSES OR COURSES NOR WILL, JUST REFUND MY AC AND DEACTIVATE MY AC AND KINDLY REFUND MY AC. I LOST MY JOB AND IM JUST DOING FREE COURSES ONLINE TO BUILD MY RESUME TO HELP ME FIND MYSELF A NEW JOB. THANK YOU.

I would want a refund for the 3 months that I have been charged since I did not attend a single class and find their way of doing things inappropriate and think they want to make money out of people.

Hi ***,
We are sorry that you had to go through this entire ordeal. Please be assured that your account has been deactivated and we have initiated a refund which will be credited back to the source in next 3- 5 business days. Please let us know if there is anything else you need assistance with.

This company practices deceptive business tactics and males it difficult for you to cancel a free trial. I tried this service through a , T-Mobile. I
After your trial period they make it difficult for you to cancel and I did email s cancellation request and I received a auto response not addressing my request.

Hi ***, We are extremely sorry for the unpleasant experience with us, We would like to inform you that Shaw Academy Premium Membership - Monthly Subscription is a paid benefit which is non-refundable as per our policies, Our intention was not to upset you in any way.

Hi ***,
We have reviewed your account and would like to inform you that you had requested for cancellation only after the payment was processed. However as a goodwill gesture we have initiated a refund, which will be credited back to the source in next 3-5 business days.
