THIS IS A SCAM! I was fooled into accepting the free trial by Shaw Academy. When I went to cancel the trial I was not able to. I also am not getting a response from costumer service. This site should be shut down. I would like for them to contact me and my bank asap.
I signed up for a month's free trial for a course.Straight away they charged 3p and then gave it back. I then requested a cancellation which I eventually got an email for. and now they have charged me £49.99 for services I haven't even requested! please investigate and clamp down on this fraudulent, scam of a company. They are taking advantage of the lockdown to scam people in good faith, how can this be allowed?
This company makes it impossible to cancel your free trial on their website. The number they give just rings out after an initial message. I realised my mistake after reading reviews. I haven't started any sessions and have cancelled my card to try and stop them taking any money. I hope this works. I realise I'm better off than most.. so far..
have a premium membership at Shaw that renewed last week and Thursday deducting the annual fee from my bank account ,haven't started any new courses and followed their instruction on their FAQ page to ask for a refund explaining that my girlfriend lost her job due to the covid- 19 lock down and that im currently under a lot of financial strain not being able to afford their services to which they replied they cannot refund me due to terms and conditions and that I should reschedule my classes and enjoy my classes and after that completely ignoring my emails don't recommend shaw to anyone unless you have a lot of money to waist
I signed up for a free trial but they had me charged for an online purchase. They refuse to issue refund, nor they reply emails.
With the hope of learning web-development online which is a complete new field for me, I signed up for Shaw Academy's free one month trial that seemed pretty generous to me at first. I took day 1 lesson and on day 2 lesson, a pop up auto chat, appeared on the comment box. It said with online toolkit, you can access pdf files and the video for later study as well, did not say anything about purchase. I clicked the button, but did not know it was a one time purchase button. Without asking for any confirmation or anything, the toolkit was already purchased, which was completely unintentional. I did not want the tool kit. I was tricked into buying this online toolkit thing which I did not need, and nor I have used the tool kit at all. When I checked my bank account, I saw this Shaw Academy had already charged me a bill of $39.95 on my account. Upon seeing this, I contacted Shaw academy thought email, because I did not find any phone numbers for customer service. They replied to me in the email saying, they can not refund the money to me, because it will be "inconvenient" for the business and in return, they were forcefully offering me free certificate, free toolkit, and so on, which I do not want, I just want my money back. I was actually just exploring to see if the field is for me, but came up with this horrible experience. I replied their email saying I do not need any free stuff, I just need the refund for the toolkit that I was tricked to buy, which I did not buy intentionally, and do not plan on using it. After this I checked online reviews of people and found they have been being charged for things they did not buy intentionally and for the membership. Seeing this, I went to my account on Shaw academy and tried to cancel my membership, but it was not easy. They had this number that I had to call to cancel the membership. When I called the number, it asked me to enter my student id that I can find on my profile, I looked it up and entered. Upon trying for multiple times, a lady named Nicole K talked on the line. When she knew I wanted to cancel the membership, she said, "I am going to offer you free toolkit and then the billing department will refund your $39.99 for the charge of the toolkit." She trapped me into the conversation and made me just pause the membership rather than cancel it. Little did I know it was just a trap. In the reply email, I got the email saying they can not provide me refund, but they are giving me bunch of free stuff that I do not need. I have two toolkits on my account now, one that I purchased (not used), and one they provided for free. My membership has been paused, and I can not cancel it now. I tried reaching the same number to cancel the membership but it tells me enter the student account number , without entering it, it doesn't ring. But, I can not access my student account number now because they have paused my membership and I can not see my student account number. I thought may be if I reactivate the account I will be able to see the student account number, but if I click the re-activate button it says your account will be charged right now with the reactivation. I tried reaching them with multiple emails to cancel my membership and refund me $39.95, but I only get auto-generated reply email saying somebody will reply withing 48 hours. I have not gotten any replies through email, nor can I contact them. I can not cancel my membership either since it has been paused and I can not access student id that I need to call the number to cancel.
This business is a big scam, and has big trap. They do not reply email, not they have customer service line. They are making people like us suffer . Please help me getting my refund and cancelling my membership which has been paused for this moment, but may be they will charge me by resuming it later.. Such business needs to be removed. They are a big scam.
Desired Outcome
I need my refund and I want to make sure they have cancelled my membership, since I can not cancel it, neither can I reach them. They are not replying any emails that I have sent for cancellation. This business needs to be prohibited from such practice so that others do not have to go through this inconvenience.

I do not accept the response because this does not solve my problem. I had only signed up for a free trial that they had offered just to see if the course is for me or not. I was tricked into buying the toolkit since they have a one time purchase , not pop up for confirmation or anything. This was completely unintentional from my side. Now they refuse to give me a refund for the stuff that I have not used, neither plan on using it. They are offering me free certificate, and bunch of other free stuff, which are of no use to me since I do not plan on using them. I simply want my money back not an exchange. I feel completely scammed by this institute. How can they not provide refund, since I have not used the product, neither plan on using it. I simply want my money back, not an exchange to some other products that are of no use to me.

They did not fulfill my request of cancelling the subscription and I was charged $70
They make it impossible to cancel online, so you have to call to speak with a sales agent. He convinced me to continue with the trial. He sent a follow up email Letting me know I could inform him when I want to cancel. I emailed him a couple weeks later requesting to cancel my subscription. He did not do so, and I was charged the membership fee.
Desired Outcome
A $69 refund

Thank you for the refund. I appreciate you taking the time to hear and correct my concern.
After attempting to cancel my subscription, I was locked out of my account and the monthly fee was charged to my debit card.
I encountered technical problems with their course material. After multiple attempts, I attempted to cancel my subscription. I was unable to get the website to accept my cancellation. I emailed the only email address I could find for them, and I never got any response except being locked out of my account. I assume this meant my account had been canceled and deleted as requested. However on July 1st, my debit card was charged the monthly subscription fee. I again emailed requesting a subscription cancellation and a refund. I then began searching them on the Internet. I found a phone number for them, and when I called, it's only an automated system. The automated system did have a cancellation option, which when I went through it, continues to ask you to verify that you want to cancel your membership with questions like, "Do you really want to give up on yourself and your goals?" Approximately 5 times before finally canceling your subscription. I also suddenly have access to my account again, and I received an email this morning stating that since I didn't cancel my subscription, I'm not able to get a refund, as stated in their policies and that they're giving me an additional 6 months for free. It's clear the representative did not read my email, or they would understand six months free does not help me because I cannot load the courses and I attempted multiple times to cancel the subscription. I have stated to them several times now that I have no desire continue any course work with them and want my account deleted.
Desired Outcome
I want a full refund of $34.99 that was taken from account, and I want my account closed and deleted.

I cannot get your website to work properly. When the classes wouldn't load for me, I attempted to cancel. Again, I encountered website errors, and I emailed through the contact form because I couldn't find any other contact information for you. I received no response, which I'm assuming is because I was unable to use the website. After sending the second form email, I was able to remove the class from my schedule. At that point, I was locked out of my account, unable to log in or request a new password. After the payment had been taken, I suddenly able to request a new password. I will note that during all the time, I had no issue with any other websites loading or working properly on my devices. I will not continue to work with this company privately due to their form responses and refusal to refund my money.

This company scammed money from me by luring me in with a "free trial" and then blocking me from being able to cancel the subscription. I never attended a single class, as they wouldn't load, but I was constantly barraged with ads for more of their products. They list no contact information on their website other than a form email through the website, to which they don't reply. Once they had taken my money, I was suddenly able to access the account again. They have repeatedly refused to refund the money via generic replies, with no personalized communication. Furthermore, to cancel the membership, which I was only able to accomplish after they took my money, is a multi-step process in which they attempt to shame the subscribers into not canceling their subscription. I've been offered useless months of membership instead of the requested refund. An "E certificate" does me no good, as I literally cannot complete the classes to obtain it. If I don't receive a refund, I will be contacting an attorney to inquire about my options. At this point, it is the principle. This scam needs to be shut down.

Hi ***,
We are very sorry for the inconvenience you faced. However we would also like to bring it to you attention that you have accepted the terms and conditions which clearly indicated about the one-click non refundable purchase. Just in case a customer has failed to see that, we have also added a disclaimer on the banner itself. We are sorry to inform you that the refund is not possible. The fact that you are unable to attend the classes is not something that we can take into consideration for the refund. Refund are given in situation where we as an organisation have failed to cancel the account even after the customer has requested to cancel before the trial period. As far as we are concern we have upheld our part of the contract with you. Unfortunately we are unable to provide you a refund.

I tried several times to cancel before the required date. I sent requests through the contact form on your website. I received no response whatsoever, but I was then unable to even access my account to continue trying. This is absolutely a failure on your part, not mine! And adding a disclaimer (after the fact, I might add), providing unusable services, and then preventing someone from canceling a subscription isn't "upholding your end of the contract". It's called fraud.

They charged my card without permission, and getting a refund takes days. My card should not have been charged in the first place.
I was in enrolled in Shaw Academy when I received a call asking if I wanted to purchase some thing that would give me other tools free. I kindly declined and said if I could do this myself, she said yes. So I told her I would look into it and see if I wanted it for myself. I checked my account and see that she has charged it anyway with out my permission. I know for a fact this isn't the free trial ending because I set multiple reminders to cancel my free trial. I started on June 7 and I was charged June 30. Meaning I have five more days in my trial I have emailed them and they told me it was because my trial ended when I know for a fact it didn't. I just want my money back and it's been extremely difficult to get it. This is unfair and seeing that multiple people have had this problem something needs to be done.
Desired Outcome
Simply want my money back. And nothing to do with this company.

Unethical Business practices.
Signed up for their free trial but I it did not satisfy my needs so I only viewed their content on one occasion. Unfortunately I entered my credit information. More than a month later I see a strange charge on my credit card for 70usd. Realised it was them so I tried to cancel the subscription. Realised it hadn't been cancelled so I reached out to them via email. Only to be told that they cannot refund my money and they instead offered me a longer subscription for the same cost. I again refused and again they offered me an even longer subscription. I was not interested when it was free and I am still not interested but they refuse to refund my money. By searching the internet I have realised these are the cries of numerous persons. This organisations intent is to mislead people in order to unethically remove funds from their credit card and they need to be removed from the internet. They are nothing more than scammers who are trying to boost their sales.
Desired Outcome
Refund of my money and they should not be able to do business online until they follow ethical business practices.

Whether or not I cancel or not before the trial ends is inconsequential. It obviously slipped my mind that I entered my credit card information to an organisation that I did not realise at the time was a scam of an organisation. The fact of the matter is upon seeing the transaction the following day I immediately requested a cancellation. This is standard business practice. I do not care about some clause that you claimed I was privy too before accepting your trial for your bogus unaccredited courses. I as the consumer are entitled to my rights and cannot be misled by company who operates outside standard business practices. Their CEO even claims that the company offers refunds in these instances in response to the tremendous outcry of people all around the world. Shaw Academy employs fraudulent tactics such as one click purchase and then denies people refunds. Why would anybody want to do business with an organisation such as this. This company needs to be shutdown. Everyone should view this article written in the Guardian because it seems that this company capitalised on the quarantine periods around the world to defraud thousands of people worldwide.

Hi ***,
This is to inform you that cancellation before the end of trial is consequential. The trial period is there for customers to decide whether to continue with the service or not, when a customer does not cancel after the trial period it is assumed that they are happy with the service who would like to continue. Therefore since this cancellation was not done we are unable to process the refund. It would be against business etiquettes to not refund money for the customer who has cancelled the their account within the trial period, however in your case as reviewed by us we are not breaching any business contracts.

According to the Consumer and Protection Commission these are my rights:
"The right to change your mind
The "cooling off" or cancellation period is 14 days from the date the contract started. You do not have to give any reason for cancelling, but bear in mind you may have to pay for the cost of returning any items to the business. If you cancel the service, the business by law has to refund you within 14 days. The refund also includes any delivery costs that you may have had to pay.
Some services are not covered by this cooling-off period, for example, hotel bookings, car rental and travel tickets are specifically excluded. Services that have already begun, with the consumer's agreement, before the end of the 14 working day period are also excluded."
In other words if I totally forgot to cancel the subscription to your fraudulent course I have the right to refuse your service. This was done the following day after realising I had been deceived. So Shaw Academy better come better than that. This company is obviously desperate for business and has to employ these shady tactics. 69.99usd is a significant amount of money and I am glad that this company is being exposed.

a payment which was just taken from my account this evening (17/06/2020) of a total amount of £49.99. Shaw Academy have billed my account £49.99 before my 30 day free trial has expired, even though I had cancelled on the second day of signing up.
I had signed up for their 4 week( 28 day free trial) on the 2nd of June. I had then cancelled on the 3rd of June, but did not receive a cancellation email. on the 30th of June 8am, I was billed £49.99. I logged into the account, and had seen that the membership had not cancelled. I contacted shaw academy asking why( on the 30th June) they said it was not cancelled, they cannot refund me as it was after the 28 days( which I have proof it was a lie) Then I left a review on trust pilot, and they have commented back saying that I had no cancelled after 30 days, which is an even bigger lie. I have attached the email of signing up, I have attached their first response back to me on the 28th, and I have attached a screenshot of their reply on trust pilot. Thank you so much for your help!

I have been charged £49.99 after cancelling my Shaw Academy online course before the end of the free trial. I can also not access my account online.
After a week of constant emails, texts and phone calls during my free trial, I decided to end my subscription to Shaw Academy. I deleted the course and cancelled it well before the free trial was due to end. On the 29th of june I was charged £49.99 from my account even though I am now unable to gain access to my account to manage this which is absolutely ridiculous, I cannot access the account to remove my card details and should not have to as the subscription was cancelled in the first place.

This company as these ads for these course toolkit, which if you click on you will get charged money. Once charged, no refund.
On June 29th, 2020, I signed up with Shaw Academy for a free trial. They were advertising their free trial on social media and I thought I would use my spare time learning something during this COVID19 season. After signing up for a free trial, I registered for a finance course. The next day, while I was exploring the website I notice that there were ads which were displayed something like "get you e-certificate" or "unlock your toolkit". I accidentally clicked on one of them first and I got charged $60 AUD. Subsequently, I accidentally clicked on another one and got charged $60 AUD. I only found out that I was charged for both on the 30th of June since the website didn't really notify me nor I didn't receive an email about the purchase. I randomly checked my bank account that day and found out. Since I thought this was not reasonable, especially when they had no information or warning about this "1-click" purchase and I had no intention on purchasing these products, I emailed Shaw Academy on the 30th of June to ask for a refund. I told them that it was a mistake and I didn't know anything about this system. However, when George replied to me on the 1st of July 2020, he said that the refund cannot be made as the terms and conditions states that no refunds could be made once a product is purchased. Instead, they offered me a $199 credit which includes a "certificate of completion", "hard copy diploma" and a "module toolkit". I simply do no care about this credit as I just want a refund. I had no intention to purchase any product as I was on a free trial to check out what this company offers. I've only watched one lesson. I feel that this "1-click" system is not reasonable at all, as people do accidentally click on these and when accidents happen. Turns out that other people experienced the same problem. All I want is to get my refund of $120 AUD ($119.99 to be precise) and cancel my free trial without no further dramas, as I see people getting charged even though they have cancelled their free trial subscription within the time frame of the free trial.
Desired Outcome
To get my refund of $120 AUD ($119.99 to be precise) and cancellation of my free trial without no further dramas, as I see people getting charged even though they have cancelled their free trial subscription within the time frame of the free trial.

I do not expect this response. The reason is because the system is boarderline scam. Why would there be on-click purchase ads everywhere in the website. Obviously people will click on it accidentally, and the fact that you unfairly set you terms and conditions, so that purchases are non-refundable, just indicates how dirty and flawed the terms and conditions and the company is. For the sake of the argument, lets say that I cannot receive a refund for something which I have access to (i.e. toolkit). Would it be fair to then give me a refund for the e-certificate? I haven't even completed the course nor finished a final assessment/exam to even qualify for what you call a "professional diploma" (which I also believe is a fake diploma). It does not make sense to not be able to receive a refund for an item which I don't even have. I have also cancelled my membership so I wouldn't be needing one. So to be fair, I should be able to receive my money back for the e-certificate at least. Otherwise, you are taking my money for no reason and not giving it back. How does your terms and condition support that?

Shaw Academy processed a charge on my credit card and refused to refund the money when I signed up for a Free 4 weeks trial for a Photography Class
I signed up for a Free 4 weeks trial with Shaw Academy on 6/26/2020. Their guidelines were clear, as long as you cancel prior to 4 weeks end, there will be no charge. I logged into my account to start classes and was bombarded with windows not allowing you to see the content of the course to purchase all kind of offers, I was careful to navigate without clicking on any one of these boxes and still take the course. That same day I found out a charge on my Credit Card for $69.99 and my account had unlocked resources. I emailed Shaw Academy for a refund, they stated, I purchased the resources and will not refund me. I advised I only signed up for the free trial and would like my money back as I did not authorize any purchase of extra services. They are refusing to refund the money. I only signed up for the free trial and that same day I was charged $69.99
Desired Outcome
I would like a full refund of $69.99 and immediate cancellation of my account

I was assured after the 30 day subscription, It would be canceled, but it wasn't. Now I have a charge of 69.99 for a class I did not attend since May.
I subscribed to the 30 day free trial. After attending the class on May 25, I realized how much it would cost to pay for all 4 Modules as well as the class notes/ E-Certificate. So I did not want to waste my time when I knew I would not pay for the other 3 modules or the class notes. After the first class I tired to cancel the membership and terminate my account completely but instead of easily deleting the account, the Shaw Academy site made me call a number to talk to a customer service agent. That same day I called the number and informed this "Student Guidance Manager" named Marlon Adonis that I wanted to cancel my membership and delete the profile because I would not pay for the rest of the modules. He was hesitant to comply with my demand but told me that he could cancel the membership so I would NOT be charged on June 25 and then pleaded with me not to cancel the profile/account since I still had 4 1/2 weeks left of my free subscription. I told him again that I wanted to cancel both the membership and the account profile. That's when he told me that he would cancel the subscription but if I kept the profile open he would provide me with a free Toolkit(class notes) and E-Certificate to finish out the subscription, and I compiled since I would be getting the toolkit, E- certificate and Module 1 for free. He assured me the the subscription would be canceled on June 25 and no further action would be required. Today July 1st I woke up to find a $69.99 charge for June 30th on my Chase account, for a class I thought I canceled and didn't attend over a month ago. I was not notified of this charge through email, so I went to my profile to view an invoice of the payment, only to see a message that says "Token has expired". Of course I immediately called again to cancel my subscription, and a automated robot repeated the same loss aversion tactics offering 4 different special offers and trying to guilt me into keeping the subscription. I refused and finally cancelled the subscription, before receiving another email giving me two months free if I reactivate my subscription. I've emailed the company twice and have not heard anything back, I just want my refund from a company that coerced me into keeping a profile I didn't want then continuing to charge me after clearly stating my membership would be canceled.
Desired Outcome
I want a complete refund and assurance of the cancelation of both my membership and profile account. I will never use this service again so I have no need for my profile.

All I wanted was my money back since I did cancel the service and the account closed. Revdex.com was be able to do that for me since Shaw Academy was not willing to give back my refund.
Trial offer extended for approximately 4 weeks, no activity with course when attempted to cancel before trial there was no option to do so.
Total scam
The company has no option to cancel before the trial period ends. I've made several attempts to cancel trial with no success then comes a bill for $69 and still no option to reach customer service via website nor phone. This company is a scam and for them to not have a valid number or email to communicate concerns is a scam to bill unsuspecting people. I've googled and searched through out their website and the search engines to find contact info to complaint but still with no success. They continue to attempt to withdraw funds from my account without authorization.
Desired Outcome
First, I would like the company to stop making attempts to withdraw monies from my account; secondly, I would like the company to discontinue there fraud business model, and third; get a customer service link and phone number.

Hai ***, We are sorry to let you down with this experience. However, we would surely want to help you with the same, As per your request, we have gone ahead and cancelled your subscription going forward you will not be receiving any notification regarding this issue.

We have initiated a refund for USD 34.99 which will be credited back to then source in next 3-5 business days.

They keep saying the same nonesense over and over. I don't care about what bs they are trying to feed people. This scam is widespread. I signed up for a free trial, I viewed your content once. I was not interested at the time and I still am not. I don't care about their scam clauses. I have made it perfectly clear I do not want your product. Your CEO claims they offer refunds because of the outcry of numerous people. This company if you want to call it that, used the COVID-19 quarantine period to outsmart numerous persons worldwide. I want my refund and I shall not stop until my hard earned money is refunded. This company should be removed form the internet. The extent of this scam is widespread with numerous shady tactics.
Hi ***,
This is to inform you that cancellation before the end of trial is consequential.

Hi ***,
We are always looking at improving our services & we strive to ensure that you have nothing short of the best. You deserved better from us and we are sorry to have let you down. Nothing is more important than regaining your trust, and we hope you will give us the opportunity to do so. Even though you failed to cancel your subscription within the trial period, considering the current pandemic situation we have initiated a refund which will be credited back to the source in next 3-5 business days.

Shaw deducted money from my account after confirming no money will be deducted
Shaw advertises a four week free course. Only after subscribing do they inform you it is a 12 week course and monthly subscription will be deducted. After reading up on the internet that they scam people I cancelled straight away. I received confirmation email that subscription been cancelled and no money will be deducted. After two and a half months they deducted two payments. After reaching out to them they claim I re activated my subscription same day I cancelled it. They can't offer proof.
I want a refund of 2 x RXXX-XX

Refusal of Refund
a payment which was just taken from my account this evening (17/06/2020) of a total amount of £49.99. I am extremely unhappy and frustrated that you have taken the money from me as I cancelled this membership online with yourselves one week after I signed up and yet I have been charged still. I have not used your services once and I have received NO correspondence regarding any upcoming payment as you should be doing with customers. I am now in financial difficulties because you have taken this money from me and I would appreciate if you can refund this amount and ensure this membership is cancelled. This should not be happening and the lack of correspondence from yourselves is unacceptable! I would like a full refund and account closed
I wish for my £49.99 to be refunded to my bank account.

I would like my refund of £49,99 back from Shaw academy, and I would like them to say that they were wrong.

I had recieved a call from Shaw Academy, and had recorded it. After a very long persistant call, I have confirmation that they will be sending my a full refund with in 5 days. I will updated you if my money is refunded.
Fraudulent charges! Never signed up! Won't give refund!!
I never signed up for this company and yet some how it has my PayPal information and has charged me for two months of service $70 total. I gave them the email connect to my PayPal as well as the last 4 digits of card that was charged. I even sent pictures of the PayPal receipts. I was first told they couldn't find anything under my email and then they stopped responding all together. Do NOT allow this to happen to you!! I plan on suing
I would like a refund of both charges for a total of $69.90. I also would like whatever account connected to my PayPal to be canceled and I want an email sent to me verifying the cancellation

A FULL reimbursement of the £49.99 and for my card details as well as my account to be terminated.
Hi ***,

Hai ***, We are extremely sorry for the unpleasant experience with us, We have reviewed your account and would like to confirm that we have charged for the purchase (Toolkit for Professional Diploma in Financial Trading & Investment Module 1/E Certificate for Professional Diploma in Financial Trading & Investment Module 1) made via our one-click purchase option. As per our Terms and Condition mentioned to you during the registration this is a non-refundable charge hence we would not be able to refund that amount, Our intention was not to upset you in any way.

Hi ***, We are extremely sorry for the unpleasant experience with us, We would like to inform you that E Certificate is a paid benefit which is non-refundable as per our policies, Our intention was not to upset you in any way.

I would like a full refund of $69.99 and immediate cancellation of my account
Hi ***,
We're sorry to know you were less than satisfied with Shaw Academy and hope you will accept our sincerest apologies. As you confirmed with our support team, you have unlocked premium module hence you were $69.99 USD. As a goodwill gesture we have initiated a refund which will be credited back to the source in next 3-5 business days.

I want a complete refund and assurance of the cancelation of both my membership and profile account. I will never use this service again so I have no need for my profile.
Hi ***,
We are sorry that you had to go through this entire ordeal. Please be assured that your account has been deactivated and we have initiated a refund which will be credited back to the source in next 3- 5 business days. Please let us know if there is anything else you need assistance with.

All I wanted was my money back since I did cancel the service and the account closed. Revdex.com was be able to do that for me since Shaw Academy was not willing to give back my refund.
Refund was already processed as on 3 July.
