They took unauthorised money from my account
21st June 2020 I joined for free 30 day trial.
24th June 2020 they took £49.99 from my bank account.
I cancelled via email. They replied said I had finished free trial. I emailed again saying no, gave dates. They then said I had purchased advanced module. Refusing to refund me. I did not know I had purchased anything. I did not have more than 30 days. I do not have a record of any purchase they said I made. I want my money back.

Desired Outcome

I would like £49.99 returned to my bank account and firthem to delete all my details from their database once refund issued and in my account.

I have had various emails back and forth to this email already. In some they say I have gone over my 4 weeks free and that is why they have billed me. They have also sent me an invoice saying this. In other emails they said I have bought something extra. I believe they have no evidence of either and ate just trying to avoid giving my money back. This response is a standard response and I have had it from them morethan once already with no resolution.

I cancelled my subscription to Shaw Academy in April of 2020. I have been charged twice since then. I have not heard back from them.
I cancelled my subscription for Shaw Academy on April 30th, 2020. I spoke with Ruqayah S on the phone and have an email confirming that my membership had been cancelled. Yet when I look at my bank statements the have charged my card both in May and June for their services. They don't have a phone number to call so I cannot get in touch with them for a refund. I am incredibly unhappy with Shaw Academy and warn others to stay away from them!!

I would like both payments of $69.99 returned to my account immediately.

I was billed for $69.99 after my four week free trial. I was told there was no record of me canceling but I did.
I called to cancel my during my trial period. This company has a very lengthy automated system that doesn't allow you to just cancel. Every time I went to cancel all there was an automated voice that said are you sure you want to cancel so every time I waited and opted to cancel. After, probably the 6th attempt, I was able to cancel. But then I just got charged us $69.99. And now I'm being told that there was no indication that I canceled And that they cannot refund me but will ensure that I won't get charged further. But I did cancel within the trial. I know I did. I'm just asking for a refund. I've never gone through such a lengthy process of trying to cancel.

I was charge a $69.99 fee after over a month of Free Courses and I never opted in to sign up for classes and never gave my card info.
I originally signed through Verizon for a Free 4 weeks course for Online Computer Training and I was always receiving alerts throughout the course to pay an additional $39 I believe and I never opted in for service. I never gave them my account info to charge anything. I don't know how they got my information but they did. They charge my account about 2 months after the trial period and said that I had a 4 week trial to cancel. I never signed up for the package they always tryed to get me to purchase. So I emailed them saying that I never authorized the purchase or charge and they are saying they will not refund me because of me signing up for a free trial and did not cancel. But it's almost 2 months after and they emailed saying that they are going to give me a 6 month access to the service which they say goes for a $399 value and I tried to log in to the account to see if I could see if my card info is showing up in there system and I have no access to anything. This company has completely scammed.

This company took out money from my account 2 with a total over $100 against my consent. I emailed stating there must be some mistake but no refund.
This is a scam company allowing people to buy a diploma vs earn it. They billed me for a membership while I was looking into homeschooling for my children and then billed me again for a diploma! I am a single mother of 6 already struggling to make ends meet.. thank you for your time!!

I never signed up with my email address and they are saying that since I've signed up I had to cancel my membership within the trial period
They have deducted 69.99 from my boa account on June XX XXXX. I have not signed up for the classes yet and yet they want to deduct the funds from my bank. How am I suppose to log in with any information? I tried several times to see if I have an account but it said there's no such member.

I have no other information regarding this Shaw acadaemy except someone named Gomes contacted me saying that they will cancel the membership but I can't get a refund...

I was charged $69.99 when I should not have been.
I canceled my free trial membership on 6/26/2020 before the program fee of $69.99 was taken out of my account on 6/27/2020. Also, as of 6/26/2020, the Shaw Academy website showed me that I still had 28 days left of my program, and like I said, this was before the program fee was even taken out of my account.

Shaw Academy refuses to refund incorrect payment. Their mobile application abuses one-click purchasing to trick consumers.
Started a one-month free trial with Shaw Academy (SA) one June 21. After my first free class on June 22, I was taken to a course page on the mobile app. The page listed a course name (Business Success), buttons for all the module quizzes (which are all free to take/complete) and a button beside the final assignment to "get e-certificate". I presumed this button would take me to the final assignment (which is also free). Instead it charged my account $45.99 without warning, confirmation or even a receipt afterwards. I only knew I had been charged once I reviewed my credit card account.

I see this as an abuse of one-click purchasing. Absolutely no reference to price was shown anywhere on the page. The button itself didn't imply it would complete a transaction (e.g. Buy this e-certificate) but instead said "get e-certificate." This wording is consistently use by SA in their own marketing of free e-certificates. In sum, the app feels designed to charge students without them knowing.

After seeing the charge to my account, I immediately email SA customer support explaining that I never meant to buy anything on their app and that I wanted a refund (and the e-certificate taken-off my account). Vaughan, the agent, refused my request for refund and instead offered some credit for certain "add-ons". I explained I was not interested in credit and simply wanted to amend my original transaction. Although their terms and conditions clearly indicate refunds can be executed, he stated that revenue recognition policies made refunds impossible. He continued to ignore my request for refund and has not answered my most recent email sent on June 24th.

Desired Outcome

I'd like a refund of the $45.99 charged to my account. I never wanted to purchase this e-certificate and honestly felt tricked into this "purchase". I don't want the credits offered by Vaughan. While Shaw Academy might rationalize this as an equivalent solution to a refund, it isn't what I asked for and not something I'll use. Lastly, I'm certain this isn't the first time Shaw Academy has received complaints about this. It's not right to trick your students into charges this way. I suggest the mobile application and website be updated to display the price of the e-certificate beside all buttons that would execute a one-click purchase. This seems like common sense and the honest way to treat your customers fairly.

I have been offered free course for four weeks soon I start taking classes. They keep asking me to purchase our toolkit £39.95 and soo I open
Shaw academy app to take class. I received a message from my Paypal about purchasing the item cost £39.95
When I checked it was from shaw academy Toolkit which I dont know how come it happen it was my last lesson class. I conplaont both Shaw Academy and Paypal but no one resolved even Shaw academy refused straight away that you buy youself so we cannot help you out on this.
I explained I never purchase my self and dont have money my account You have used overdraft payment but they are not ready to listen quite unfair.
Please help me out.

I have reviewed the response from Shaw Academy, which is completely wrong interpret that they have terms and conditions to make one click purchase. Once I got the message that I have purchased this ordere amount of £39.95. I have not given chance to review my order or read any terms conditions to process my order. This purchase has processed automatically soon I have opened the Shaw Academy App to take my class. Trust me they are giving completely false statement that they have mentioned its non refundable. Once someone not even allow to read the terms conditions before make any purchase so it is not justified about Shaw academy statement. They are just stick on that we are not going to refund at all in any circumstances which is not fare at all.

I subscribed to a free month trial for online course. I canceled before the cancelation date and was still charged.
I went through with Shaw Academy's 1-month trial with "option to cancel" before renewing. I canceled the subscription online within about 2 weeks as I didn't end up using it. Then I come to find out that yesterday they still charged me for $69.99. I then investigated and to my surprise they never went through with my cancelation as I was still under active renewal! I now read many reviews how Shaw Academy keeps scamming people by not canceling their subscriptions when requested. I want the refund for the money they took.

I do not accept this response because when I submitted the cancelation request, I was under the impression it was canceled as ir should have been. I did not receive any confirmation of cancelation when I tried the first time or even the second time when it actually went through. The reason I did not call or email was because, as stated earlier, when I followed through online in the cancelation request area, I went on thinking the site had already processed it. I didn't know that Shaw Academy did not process it until after I was billed. As stated in mu original complaint, there are hundreds of people who have gone through this process where shaw does not honor their cancelation request. I emailed a response to Shaw Academy to ***@shawacademy.com. I sent them the only documentation I have available which is a screenshot of my history, where I went through cancelation process.

Won't refund me my money
I had signed up for a free trial with Shaw Academy through my Verizon Wireless account and after only one class, I'd contacted Verizon to have it removed and they'd assured me that it has been canceled. 4 Weeks later, Shaw Academy had charged me $69.99 on my card. I emailed them immediately and asked for a refund and they refused to return my money. I'm very angry because that money was supposed to go towards my mortgage payments!

They agreed to refund me my money

This company took an unauthorised payment out of my account for an "E-Certificate" which I never received and do not want! Scammed many people also!
Shaw Academy advertise a FREE trial for 4-weeks, they then ask for your bank details to be able to set up the free trial promising NO payment would be taken, a day later they then take payment for a so called "E-Certificate" at £39.95 which I never selected or even received! When emailed they claim you didn't cancel the free trial in time when this free trial was initiated the previous day!

This transaction was via paypal, I have contacted them but they said I need to speak to the company, the company offered me an extended trial but I DO NOT want the trial anymore and just want my money back, this was stressed to them over a few emails back and fourth, they have since completely ignored my emails and are quite obviously aware they are in the wrong!!! They have been uncovered as scammers on trust pilot and also a facebook group called Shaw Academy Scam!!

Free trial started on 24/6/20 and payment taken 25/6/20

Desired Outcome

I would like my money refunded! There business needs to be shut down as they've conned many innocent people!!!

Subscribed for their free trial, never attended/opened the site, refuses to refund credit card charge for subscription never touched
I checked my card was charged $69.99 and reached out to them via e-mail. They refuse to refund a subscription that was never used and offered extensions for "free subscription" instead. During a global pandemic where people get laid off and look for ways to expand their knowledge or learn a new skill to shift their income to a different field, these people decide to take advantage of that situation, lure people to sign up for a free trial, bombard you with e-mail ads, countless phone calls but when it is time to remind you that your trial is over, they disappear. You won't find out until money has been taken out of your limited funds and have to decide between cutting your grocery budget and missing a bill payment.

I asked them for proof that I initiated a purchase as they are claiming, but nothing was given to me. They refused to refund the charges. It is a scam website and they use the customer's payment details to make charges on their behalf.

I need my money refunded back to me as I did not make any purchase on their website. It is an unauthorized transaction.

I have been asking for proof to show that I initiated a purchase but you have not provided it yet. This charge was done without my authorization. This seems like a shady business process. I know pop-ups come on your website multiple times proving to be a surprise for users but I have been very careful never to even accidentally click on one. Now the problem is I do not see any product for which you have charged my credit card and I will have to sue your shady business practices if my money is not refunded. As I've mentioned multiple times before, my credit card was charged without my approval which is basically a fraud.

Shaw academy took £49.99 from my account even though I had cancelled the account straight away after realising this was likely a scam.
£49.99 was taken from my visa account despite me having cancelled my subscription for free trial guitar course right at the start, when I realised this company was likely a scam. The website now says it doesn't recognise me and I cannot seem to find a way to get this refunded. The funds were taken on 22. June 2020

I want to cancel my free trial before they charge me, and they are making it impossible to cancel.
I signed up for a free trial on 6/27 and have since been harassed with emails and calls from them. I looked them up and see that lots of people have had similar issues and that they will make it impossible to cancel. I just tried to cancel my membership and they are making me call a number that does not pick up. I just want my membership canceled and to never hear from them again.

1st month was supposed to be free but they charged me. Accidentally pressed their"one time payment click" for something I don't intent to use.
Purchased an online Digital marketing course in Jun 2020.
I contacted them to cancel my subscription when I saw they charged my credit card for the 1st month that was supposed to be free and when I accidentally pressed their"one time payment click" to get additional material that keeps popping up, it's something I don't intent to use.

I followed up on my request to cancel all my subscriptions and reimburse my money several times but they don't want to reimburse, instead they keep offering more courses. I do not trust this company with their unethical business practices.

Shaw academy charged my PayPal account even though I cancelled my subscription WITHIN the free cancellation period and doesn't give me my money back!
I bought an online course from Shaw academy by subscribing to their service.
Their ad indicated that I could cancel my subscription within a few days if I were not happy without being charged.

I did precisely what!
I cancelled my subscription/membership only a few days after I joined free of charge as I had every right to as per their ad.

To make sure that I won't get charged by them, I contacted their customer service department.
A customer service agent of Shaw academy named Vadik confirmed via email that I will not get charged and that my membership was cancelled.
(see attached screenshots).

A few days after PayPal notified me that I got charged by shaw academy!!!

I contacted the following departments of that academy:
-Trustpilot team
-billing team
-customer service team
-PayPal team
-twitter team
-Facebook team

I also contacted a senior member of the Shaw academy via LinkedIn.

To date, they refuse to refund me my money! Even though I have a written confirmation from a member of their team stating that my membership was cancelled in time and no charge should occur to my account!!

I, later on, realised that shaw academy had done the same thing to hundreds of customers recently.
As a result, multiple groups on Facebook and Twitter accounts have been formed by customers who experienced the same!!

I need to get my money back and to make sure they will never charge my account again!
I attach two screenshots of the transaction ID from PayPal and the confirmation from Shaw academy's Customer service agent saying I won't be charged.

I copy below the whole correspondence between myself and Shaw academy about the matter but most importantly the response of Shaw academy's colleague Vadik stating:

I also attached a screenshot of the transaction ID from my paypal account where I would like to receive the refund.

We have reviewed your account and would like to inform that you had created two accounts by error. The first one was associated with ***@gmail.com, which was cancelled after your request. However we found another account of yours with kind off same email but with spelling error (***@globehunters.con), which was still active hence you were charged.
