I need a refund for the 69.99 Shaw took from me when I thought I cancelled my account.
I joined Shaw academy for their free photography courses and I thought I cancelled or it would ask me if I'd like to cancel before they'd take my payment. I wake up one morning to find 69.99 taken out of my account with no confirmation of this even happening. I've already spoken to my bank and I'd like to have my money refunded because I will not be using this service any longer due to one attending the first module classes. Very disappointed in the services of Shaw academy taking money straight out of people's accounts!!! And I'm not the only person this has happened to!

Desired Outcome

I'm just looking to be refunded for the service I won't be using anymore because I should have gotten a confirmation email but not even that when I tried to cancel before.

I was charged for their services despite attempting to cancel twice.
I had signed up for the 30 day free trial. I went through the automated system to cancel my account twice before my trial was up so that I would notb charged. However I discovered they charged me OVER the regular monthly charge for a service I had canceled twice.

Desired Outcome

I would like my money back and I would like my account canceled.

I was testing out the free trial of Shaw Academy and was unsatisfied. I am charged now services I never wanted and need it reversed.
My account at Shaw Academy activated May 29th and then my PayPal account was subsequently charged on June 26th for $69.99. First, I have to say during the few days I attempted to use the free trial the website and product themselves as whole is very difficult to use and was nothing as advertised on social media. Second, after watching the first lesson video and eventually half of the second lesson video I came to the conclusion that I hated the product and was done with it and would not be continuing to use it. I attempted to cancel the product and thought that I had. I was mistaken the cancellation process was much more difficult then I first thought. You have to make a phone call and go through a long automated system in which they attempt to coax you into not cancelling by giving away deals and what they call, "free products." Needless to say the second time around I succeeded in cancelling my account through Shaw Academy. Only after I was charged the fee.

I was charged the $69.99 at 3:03pm on June 26th. I cancelled the account immediately after realizing what happened. I also discovered in my PayPal account that I had to also cancel the subscription a second time on the PayPal side of things. This is something that Shaw Academy did not make me aware of. I immediately sent emails to explaining and requesting that I never intended nor wish to pay for any products. That I do not want any products from Shaw Academy. That I have zero interesting in ever using any of there services ever. Needless to say I have been emailing back and forth with a representative listed on the email as "Lincoln (Shaw Academy)". Our emails range from Friday 3:45pm through Today the last one I sent June 30th at 8:07am. I was responding back again that I cannot afford their products and to please reverse the transaction and they are welcome to delete and close my account.

Needless to say they are absolutely refusing. I admit responsibility on my part was not thorough enough to make sure my account was properly cancelled. I test free trials when something is of interest to me as a consumer and have cancelled many free trials before the billing period. I've also made mistakes in the past and was easily issued refunds by reputable companies of services and things I did not want. Never have I been so flatly ignored and refused a simple cutesy as a refund and reversal of the transaction incurred with Shaw Academy.

They have offered me, "The very best we can possibly offer is to increase that to 12-months access worth of $699 totally free of charge plus one complete course toolkit and e-certificate worth $199 which will be activated in the next 24-hours." That was in the email on June 29th which in summary I replied back that I do not want any of their products, I just want the $69.99 reversed and cancelled. They continue to refuse to do this. (Explain to me the logic of how over $800+ worth of product they can afford to give away for free but absolutely refuse to cancel the transaction to myself for $69.99? It literally makes no sense from a business perspective.)

Lastly they recovered $4.93 from my PayPal account balance. The rest is connected to my bank in which I have NO MONEY. Right now I am financially destitute. Over the last thirty days I have been very sick, was house sitting and dog sitting for two weeks away from my normal routine, under lots of stress. I am facing having to move out of where I live by the end of the month with no notice except that I found out a few days ago. I received noticed of the transaction and insufficient funds from my bank. Now I am in deep trouble on multiple fronts unless they cancel the transaction of $65.06 that Shaw Academy still has not received because I AM POOR and DO NOT WANT THEIR SERVICES/PRODUCTS OF ANY KIND. I couldn't make that more clear.

They absolutely refuse to help me in this matter. Shaw Academy has made this issue an absolute nightmare.

Desired Outcome

I simply want my account closed at Shaw Academy and even my data/information to be deleted and the $69.99 reversed, cancelled, refunded. For us both to part our separate ways after.

I cancelled the account myself on the last day of the free trial. I have forwarded you all the emails I've exchanged with . Additionally it appears your company can't get its story straight. On the website < https://www.trustpilot.com/> I wrote a negative review, the response which I have screen captured as originally written states they reviewed my account as follows, " Thank you for reaching out to us. We are sorry to hear about your experience and inconvenience caused to you.
We have personally reviewed your account and found that you had subscribed using your debit/credit card/payment method and availed of a 30-day free trial after which payment would be made.....". The response is not even accurate information. A. If it is thirty days then my account certainly was self-cancelled and you billed me two days early. B. I did not subscribe with debit/credit card information. This is entirely inaccurate. I assert I did end it the last day as counted on the calendar.

What I want and need is for the transaction billed to me through PayPal canceled/rescinded/refunded/reversed. I do not want to ever use any services free or otherwise ever from Shaw Academy.

Your continued refusal to help me is hurting me in all areas of my life currently. How is that profitable for your company?

I signed up for a free trial and thought that I canceled it but I believe they tricked me on their website. Now I get charged $69.99 Every month!
There is no phone number to call so I emailed about a refund and the email back was very vague saying they cannot do that. The charge this past month overdrew my bank account. I can't keep being charged for a service I'm not even using!

I do not accept this because I know for a fact that I canceled my free trial yet was still charged $140. They have stolen money from me and there is no way to even talk to someone on the phone. I signed up for the trial but I canceled it so that I would not be charged anymore!

I started with Shaw Academy a couple months ago. I was trying a free trial for their photography class. What else to do during the quarantine, right? I was not impressed at all during the first day of "class". I cancelled. I cancelled the free trial and they said I had to contact them. I tried to call them. They didn't answer. I emailed them. Never got an answer back. They say that you have to call them to confirm you want to cancel or they will continue charge you for the subscription after the free trial. I am livid at this point. When I see a charge on my bank account, I call my bank and get it removed and blocked. My bank just got back to me and after their claim investigation, said that I authorized the charge to my account. I DID NOT! I cancelled. Cancelled! Cancelled! Cancelled! I am very irritated and want to just say that they take your money and lie to banks when you try to get that money refunded and they say that the membership is obviously still active somehow. Do not go with Shaw!!!

Desired Outcome

I am looking for a refund. A complete refund of $69.99 for the charge of the subscription that I tried to get back into my bank account and I tried to not have charged to my account in the first place.

I cancelled my membership and was still charged. I want a refund that's all I want .
Spoke to a representative through email wanting a refund. Was told he couldn't give me one but could give me free access for 6 months. I had already cancelled my membership and stopped using it but was still charged. I want my refund.

They have charged me for something I did not purchase.
They have debited $70 from my checking account *twicein the past two months. I did not subscribe to their business.

Charges are dated April 21 and June 19 of 2020 for $69.99.

I've been billed after I cancelled. Website and app are down or kick me out. No number to call on site and won't respond on Social Media. It's a scam
I signed up for some free marketing classes. Once the trial was over, I Used to app to cancel in May 2020. A message told me to call and cancel as well. It took me 8-10 times to get through. Told them I wanted to cancel. They offer me more time to finish my sessions for free. I consistently them, don't charge me I don't have money. I was surely insured that I wouldn't be.

When I would go to the app and check my profile, I would say "in trial_membership. I tried to go back to the app to cancel but the app would log me out each time I touch profile to make sure it was canceled. Went on the site, and the site is down. I received a bank notice saying I had been billed for $69.99.

There is no number to contact On website and I can't get to my profile on my app.

This isn't right.

The refund of my money and for better business practices for them.

I accept the response due to the fact they are going to reimburse me my money for a service that I didn't sign up for. I would like for them to fix their website and app. I also feel they need to have contact info for customers to contact a representative of their company.

If I don't see this issue resolved by 3-5 business days, I will be contacting the Revdex.com again.

WRONGFULLY CHARGED MULTIPLE TIMES
I called and unsubscribed from this place over two months ago and they still continue to charge my card! They are thieves!

I KNOW that I called and cancelled. There's no other way I would HAVE THE CANCELLATION PHONE number, and go through their very very lengthy phone cancellation process where they try to offer you all this "free" school before you end the services, and guilt trip you for ending their services. Then at the very end of the call they make u feel bad and it hangs up. HOW WOULD I KNOW THIS IF I HADNT CALLED AND CANCELLED?!

I just want my money back. Scammers will continue to do what they do. They need to be shut down.

The company is a FRAUD stealing money from people. They are collecting payment information under the pretense that the service is free. Then charging for the service and refusing to refund.

I signed up for a free trial, ending on June 26th, and upon logging in on the 26th I was already charged for a premium membership.
I received no texts or emails regarding my charge, or warning me my trial was ending, and was immediately charged 70$ for a premium membership. I did not attend any classes, and already attempted to cancel previously. I cannot find anywhere to receive a refund.

I would like a refund for the charge made, as my subscription was canceled on the 26th, as was outlined in my initial free trial.

They have billed my automatically by clicking a link that did not have any price refered to it.
I have joined a free trial at Shaw Academy that is not yet over (ends in 8 days from now). They have bombarded me with no less than 100 emails , most of them containing 1 click purchases. Once I was on their website I have clicked a link that did not have any price reference, making it look "for free". As result of falling for the fraud I have tried to contact the PayPal customer support for help which they were unable to offer because Shaw Academy used the automatic payment that one allows once the trial starts.
Meanwhile I have tried to contact the customer support from Shaw Academy as well , but all I got in return is an email from Zen Desk which says the cannot find my email address in their system, although this is the same email address for login and payment. The rest of my emails requesting a refund were ignored.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund of 39 which were billed from my Pay Pal account without my consent and see justice done once and for all against online fraud. They should not be allowed to practice any sort of business!

I cannot accept this explanation because I was tricked in "purchasing" the eCertificate by clicking on a link that had no price displayed on it, situated underneath a link for purchasing a "hard copy diploma" which had a price displayed, making the eCertificate link look without any cost. This and especially your referral in the Terms and Condition that eCertificates cannot be refunded proves that it is a fraud mechanism, deliberately designed to bill poor people that are glad to participate in a free 4 week trial and accept the Terms and Condition without reading it. Furthermore, not making it clear that the links are 1 click purchase that work with the activation of the automatic payment of Trial makes this method illegal in all the countries where your offices sit. I expect a refund.

You don't want to do anything about it, because if you refund me you would have to refund all the others you have scammed. You're so called diploma is not recognized anywhere, so why would someone need it?
Instead of practicing a honest business model, you chose scamming, therefore dealing with the consequences.
A refund is the only solution to this case.

Requesting refund for subscription and E-certificate.
I signed up for a 30-day free trial on 30May2020. I provided my credit card info as they said I will not be charged and they only needed it for registration purposes. My last class for module 1 was yesterday 25June2020 (Manila time). After the class, I accidentally clicked on the purchase e-certificate and realized my mistake so I emailed them to ask for cancellation because I could not find a cancellation button on their website. This afternoon I got a call from a guidance manager name Jade, offering a discounted price for a 3-month subscription (PHP1,316) and needed me to decide because it was a limited offer. I initially said yes, and agreed but after I got home, and gave more thought to it, I realized that I can no longer attend the succeeding modules and emailed them to request a refund. I then saw that there was a response to my first email about the e-certificate and the reply stated that they could not refund the amount of PHP299.00, I then explained that I spoke to one of their manager earlier today and initially agreed to a subscription, but due to financial constraints I realized it was a bad decision and wanted to request a refund. I got a reply after about half an hour later basically saying they cannot refund my money (total of PHP1,615). I explained that I have not accessed the succeeding modules and if they wanted assurance, I am giving them permission to revoke my access to my login as well as all their modules. I have not received any response to my last email. I've had similar experiences with other businesses in the past where I forgot to cancel my subscription and was granted a refund, no questions asked, so it baffles me why Shaw Academy is refusing to do so. Upon reading the comments from other students in this sit, I am inclined to believe that Shaw Academy is a scam, evidenced by the numerous complaints filed against them.

I want a refund on my subscription and the e-certificate, total of which is PHP1,615. Also would like to cancel my membership with Shaw Academy.

THIS IS A SCAM! I was fooled into accepting the free trial by Shaw Academy. When I went to cancel the trial I found out you can only do it by phone. I spent over 30 minutes listening to PRE-RECORDED messages begging me to stay and "not give up on my dreams and the the goals I wanted for my life." It is a ridiculous automated process to cancel your membership that should take only a few minutes, but because you HAVE to get to the end of the message for the prompts if you want your account to be cancelled. After all of this, and a record of cancellation, I was still charged $69.99 a few days later! I have contacted my payment methods and cancelled the automatic payments for the future, but should not have had to do this - and I should not have been charged almost $70! Please don't fall prey to this SCAM of a company.

I want to reallocate the payment I made for membership to pay for my certificate but the company is unresponsive.It has literally become unreachable.
I studied a course taking advantage of the free trial period.I was billed when I continued beyond the trial period.I completed the course but did not get the certificate.
I erroneously made a payment for the 3 moths premium subscription to keep my studentship alive specifically for me to get the certificate,Now what I want is to cancel the membership and utilise the money to pay for the certificate.My frustration is I cannot complete the cancellation online using the provided facility.I have to call the local office. Everytime I call the local office the calls are not picked.Now the clock is ticking on me for the time to get the certificate along with the opportunities.On the other hand the clock is ticking on the number of days my 3 months subscription is running.
I need an amicable resolution which enables me to get my certificate.

Scammy website practicing shady business tactics, wish I knew this before signing up with them.

I cancelled my subscription 3 months ago and I am still being charged. I have sent varies if emails to the support email and haven't gotten a response

I, by return Of the 3 day expiry warning (15.05.2020), cancelled my free trial, which was within the 28 days and am being Refused a refund can prove!
Subscribed for free 28 day trial, laptop broke, received the 3 day warning pre charge and immediately explained and requested cancellation. 14.05.2020 was ignored! Emailed again before they took the money (30.05.2020) but they still ignored me and took the money, refusing to refund stating I didn't cancel within 28 days, despite my sending proof!

Just refund the 49.99 please! Email may for proof as it is not accessible on this, my phone!

Tried to cancel my account before the date line and the application didn't allow me to do so. Without any reminder or consult, they charged me 70$
I realized I had been charged when trying to buy my moms medicine, in fact, I couldnt buy it because they deducted money from my account without my consent.

I need a reimbursement in order to buy my moms heart pills, this is not a human treatment during the global outbreak.

They cancelled my subscription after the charged me 70 USD, I dont want any free subscriptions, I just need the money back, my mother can't afford not to take her pills.

Shaw Academy processed an unauthorized charge on my credit card & refused to refund the money .
I enrolled in a 4 week free English courses on may 24th 2020 and they mentioned that if cancelled before these 4 weeks I won't have to pay. I cancelled few days after on may 30th 2020 and never assist in any course. They cancellation process is very long ( they don't let you unsubscribe and try to offer you 3 free months, then 6 free months, then 12 free months it's an endless offer process that doesn't make any sense.... but I went through all the steps and take picture then at the end as it was not enough, they asked me to call a number to confirm my cancellation. So I also did that on June 1st 2020 (and have the proof from my phone company) after completing all the steps and having a confirmation on the phone that my subscription was cancelled, they've stopped sending me email about the courses until this week June 22th 2020. So I wrote then an email asking why they've restart sending me an email since I've unsubscribed a month ago. They didn't answer but charged my credit card 66.99 CAD. I wrote them another email to ask for a refund and they say that they won't refund since I haven't unsubscribed. Knowing that I have all the proof in pictures and through my phone company, they still deny and refuse to refund. This company is totally a scam, and I felt that during the very long and really weird un-subscription process that why I took picture. They had no right to charge my card, this is a fraud.

Desired Outcome

I want a refund otherwise I will ask for a compensation as my time is too much valuable to spent it on a long process online + on phone . In total I've lost so many time for the un- subscription itself, and now I am spending even more time with them via emails for a simple refund (knowing that its my right, its doesn't make any sense. They are losing my time again by trying to offer me as a compensation a free access to the course for 6 months. A course I've unsubscribed for ! how crazy is that? I am not interested, I just want my money back), to that time lets add the time I've spent to contact my bank, and now extra time to contact the Revdex.com, the time I've spent to contact my phone company and secure all the evidences against them. I have a business to run and I don't have time to play! so to that add also the money I am loosing with my company because I am not working.This is enough... Either they refund me or they pay way more for the time I am currently loosing. Regards
