I wanted to cancel my free membership.Cancellation was made difficult , how Shaw Academy set it up online.I was 1-day late in canceling and charged.
On May 7th, 1 -day before the free trial period end date, I logged on to my account to cancel around 9pm. It took me to several pages making it difficult to cancel. The last page instructed that I call the phone number from 9am-8pm. On May 8th which was a Friday, I called the number around 5pm due to work. To my surprise, automated messaged said call center closes at 5pm, not 8pm.
On Monday 5/11, only ONE BUSINESS DAY LATE from free trial end date, I canceled my account. I was charged the full amount. I sent several emails explaining what happened but the representative stated I was late in canceling so I will be charged full amount. I think it is unfair practice since I made attempts to cancel online but their website did not allow me to. When I called the call center was closed before the stated time on the instruction given to me the day before. They should provide customer's a courtesy as I was only one day late in canceling due to no fault of my own.

Shaw Academy billing should refund $69.99 back to my payment method.

Membership was cancelled during FREE TRIAL and I was still charged. Still to this day I have never recieved a email cancelation comformation!!!
Someone in my household accepted a free trial offer for a 4-week subscription (FREE) where you won't be charged as long as you cancel within your trial period. In March 2020, I was noticing these emails stating, "you've missed your class". They kept coming every few days so I decided to check it out. I had no idea what it was. I logged in through the app, and I noticed it said "trial status". I wanted to make sure I wasn't charged for anything so I proceeded to cancel through the app, which brought me to the phone number, (XXX-XXX-XXXX). On March 25, 2020, for about 3 minutes trying to cancel they just bring you through automated phone prompts. At the end of the phone call it stated, that my membership was cancelled so I would not be charged and that I would receive a email cancellation conformation shortly. Well, I never did. So I called again On April 6, 2020 because I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to get canceled. I just wanted to talk to a customer service rep on the phone but it is just not possible. That's how these people SCAM you. So April 6, 2020 the same thing, they told me I was cancelled and I would receive that email but I still NEVER DID. April 14, 2020. I WAS CHARGED $59.99 for a service NOBODY OR I EVER USED OR OPENED!!! I was so *** because on top of everything else going on in the world, my *** bank account was OVERDRAFTED because of these people. I tried calling them again on April 16, 2020 when I realized they charged my account so I called the # again and the phone number was out of service!!! I emailed their support team email. NO RESPONSE. I emailed them through PAYPAL and they did respond to me stating because I did not cancel my account during the trial period there is just no possible way to refund me at all. That is just horrible because I went and cancelled several times to avoid this *** that I never even used or wanted. I just want my refund, and instead they gave me whatever service subscription 6 months FREE, which today I still have not even opened, used or touched! I don't even know what the *** it is!! Horrible customer service. And it says on the account that it is canceled (non-renewing) STILL TO THIS DAY I HAVE NOT RECIEVED ONE CANCELLATION EMAIL LIKE THEY TOLD ME MULTIPLE TIMES. I just want my refund of $59.99 or I am claming FRAUD. I have nothing good to say about their customer service because it is beyond impossible to speak to a actual person from their business. I did a little research and I am not the only one who has had this issue. Please, just give me my refund.

Shaw Academy are refusing to refund me.
Hi I signed up to the free trial, due to work schedules I couldn't use any of the free resources so emailed to cancel. However on the 8th May 2020 I was charged £69.99 on my debit card via my paypal account. As soon as I realised I checked the website and managed to cancel my membership there. I contacted Shaw Academy for a refund which they refused. The terms were not made clear at registration and there was no reminder that my trial would soon end (which I thought was already cancelled) and that I would be charged. Shaw Academy still refusing to refund.

I signed up for a 14 day free trial on April 5, 2020. On April 6, 2020 Shaw removed $34.95 from my checking account, without my permission. I contacted them via email on April 8, 2020. This is when I noticed the transaction. I demanded a closure and refund. I was told I could not be refunded because the materials had been sent to me. They would only offer 6 months free. As if I would even consider using their services after this. Thinking the stress wasn't worth $35, I let it go! Oh boy, was I wrong. May 4, 2020 they pulled $69.99 from my checking account. Man, that was a fast six months and double the price. Have been trying to connect with them ever since. Had to get a new bank card and file for a stop payment. NICE!

Signed up and cancelled Shaw in 1/2hr, email confirmed cancellation but they still charged me a month later.
On April 10, 2020 I signed up for a free course. After 1/2hr of looking through their website - had to pay for course material, 'toolkits' etc, I decided I didnt want to have a membership with them. I called the customer service number they provided at sign up and it was a voice automated call that kept trying to get me to stay. After I got through the call I cancelled and was told my account was cancelled. I didnt believe it so I sent out 4 emails to different addresses that I could find including support and billing. I got a response back saying my account was cancelled on April 10th. Now a month later they took $69.99 CAD out of my account.

They stole my money out of my account twice unauthorized withdrawals totaling $110.00!!!
I took the course through Tuesday T-Mobile Thankings.
Before the 4week free online course was over I saw a $69.99 withdrawal from my account from them. I immediately went into my Shaw Academy acct to cancel immdiately.
Checked acct again and another $39.99 was withdrawn from my acct by Shaw Acdmy! Shocked, called credit union Navy Fed to report thieft. Investigation is pending. Called T-Mobile to register a complaint of the theift, who is a principled business and would not want to be associated with unscrupulous practices.
Navy Federal credit union has refunded both withdrawals in good faith and results from Visa's investigation.

Desired Outcome

To refund the unauthorized & unwarranted funds to Navy Federal Credit Union in my behalf.

But we would like to address your reference to the word "theft", as this is something that we take incredibly seriously. We have at no point taken payments from you, or any of the 5 million students we have educated unless the student entered their payment details to a secure payment page and manually completed the transaction. In every one of our emails, landing pages, offer banners and indeed the payment page itself, we do outline that the offer presented to you was a one-month free trial which would run automatically into a monthly recurring payment if not cancelled.

If any charge had occurred that you feel should not have, it will be refunded.

I've tried repeatedly to cancel my trial. Couldn't get in contact. Reached out 2x. No response. Got charged $70 for a product I didn't use.
I've been trying to cancel my subscription but upon calling, your line says you're closed despite the website saying you're open. I get corona causing issues but no one has responded to ANY of my attempts to reach you. It's been 15 days!

This has been an absolutely abysmal experience with your company and because of the delay and lack of response from your team I couldn't cancel and have now been charged $70 for a product I didn't use outside of an intro lesson. Customer service reps didn't even answer my questions when I did have a question. I just got a brainless, generic response that was completely unhelpful.

This could all have been avoided if you'd just respond like any other halfway decent company.

How do you just never respond to a customer who gave your company a shot?? I expect a full refund. Thank you.

I have problem with cancelation of the subscription in Shaw Academy, the given student number is incorrect for the confirmation of cancellation.
May 12, 2020 I ask to cancel my membership in Shaw Academy but they keep telling in the page to call the number in order to confirm my cancellation and they provide me the student ID but when I call the number, and provide my student ID, it said that my account ID is incorrect. I tried it multiple times but it keeps telling me the account id is wrong. I tried to reach their support email but I haven't receive from them until now.

I was trying to cancel my account I was asked to call a number. When I called, it's incorrect. This is the number +XXXXXXXXXXX with ref.ID XXXXX
I was trying to cancel my account because I will be attending the same education sponsored by my company but I was asked to call a number. When I called the number, I was told that it's not the correct number. I've been trying to reach out to cancel my subscription but no luck and no response from the emails I sent. I need to get rid of my CC information and cancel my subscription but they are not cooperative and responsive.
This is the number +XXXXXXXXXXX with ref.ID XXXXXwhen I called that number, they say they are not Shaw Academy and been receiving calls from people trying to cancel.

Desired Outcome

I just need them to 1.) cancel my subscription 2.) make sure that they are not giving falls information like hotline numbers and so on 3.) make sure that they can be contacted anytime and be responsible business owner, don't lure the people

I had applied for the 4 week challenge with the thought of not being charged. This company is a scam and they make it hard to find solutions.
I had applied for the 4 week trial with the knowledge that I would not be charged. On the membership page however I immediately see $69.99aud will be charged today. After sending out bombardments of emails and not receiving anything a part from automated message and emails to sign up etc, I decided to check forums to see if this company is a scam. I'm sure I have 2 accounts as 1 took my credit card details but did not even give me a password *** the other account does not let me cancel. There are no cancellation options and even when I email them to contact me no one does. There's no phone number, emails are non responsive. Please resolve this issue. I just want to cancel and not have any money taken out. This company does not care about your education but just want to take your money and make it hard to do anything about it.

I asked for my subscription to be cancelled and they had told me it was. My money was still withdrawn. That's robbery and theft.
I emailed them in regards to cancelling all subscriptions and they had confirmed that everything was cancelled and that money would not be withdrawn. This took a while as they weren't responding to my emails and there are no contact details other than email. After a few back and forth emails which were mostly automated and useless, they had emailed me saying all was done. This was May 15th. Fast forward to today (June 12th), I receive a notification that I had $59.99 withdrawn from my account. This is completely unacceptable as they had lied and went via a sneaky method to steal money. I had sent out an email but have not received anything back. I had posted earlier on this website In regards to my issue of cancelling and I would strongly advise everyone to stay away from this sham company. Completely useless and difficult to deal with and will only want to take your money.
I want a refund and to cancel all subscriptions and to not have ANY money be taken out AGAIN. Owe up to what you say. You say all is cancelled and nothing will be taken out but it ended up still withdrawing. Keep to your promises or don't operate at all.

Unauthorized
Shaw Academy offered 4 weeks of free trial. That's why I subscribed to their services on April 11, 2020. However I cancelled my membership on April 21, 2020. Shaw Academy debited C$69,99 from my Paypal account (out of the blue) on May 9, 2020 DESPITE my cancellation almost 3 weeks before. I got in touch with them on May 9, 2020 to get a refund. "Patrick from Shaw Academy" finally got back to me on May 11, 2020. He refused to refund my account, pretending that I have never cancelled my membership during their 4 weeks free trial time period. Which is, obviously, a lie. In his last email on May 12, 2020, he persists: "I have reviewed your email and this matter further however, unfortunately there is no way at all a refund can be processed for you."
I know thousands of people had the exact same issue with this company, dealing with the exact same emails from "Patrick".
I look forward to hearing from you.

I cancelled my *FREE subscription with you on 14 April 2020, but I got charged R399 on 11 May 2020. Why did this happen and may I get my money back?
I cancelled my *FREE subscription with Shaw Academy on the 14th of April 2020 because I was dissatisfied with the course I took. You *CONFIRMED that my subscription was cancelled, but I still got charged R399 on the 11th of May 2020.

This company offered a 30 free trial and then charged my card before the trial was up.
This company offered a free 30 day trial membership for their digital marketing class. Several days before my free trial period was up this company charged my card for $70 without giving me the opportunity to cancel my trial membership within the allotted 30 day trial period. I contacted them by email and they informed me that it is apart of their terms and conditions to charge someone within the free 30 day trial period without giving them the opportunity to cancel. I read over the terms and conditions and no such thing is written in there. I have attached below a screenshot of the date that I started up services with this company which was April 13th, 2020 and a screenshot of the cancellation which was on May 11th, 2020.

I just want my money to be returned to my account, it was their mistake to charge my card within the free 30 day trial period.

I signed up for a FREE course with Shaw Academy, for which I was charged a few weeks later.
I signed up for a free course with Shaw Academy on April 8, well aware that I had the option to purchase a study guide and/or the certificate after a final exam. I did not choose to pay for either, and several weeks later on May 6, I found money withdrawn from my bank account. A free course is not equivalent to $34.99.

Furthermore, I tried contacting the business by phone. They're not accepting phone calls. I sent two emails, one on Thursday the 7th, and one the following Sunday. Neither received a response. I would believe that any legitimate company would reply.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund for the "free" course that I intentionally chose to NOT pay for.

Tried to cancel my free trial. Website will not allow it. Cannot reach anyone to resolve. Charges are now pending on my credit card. I want a refund.

I have attempted to cancel membership via email/phone - no response & calls simply loop. I continue receiving emails that seem automated & unrelated.
I was charged ___ during my "free" trial period. Tried to cancel once I found out via email and on the phone to no avail. No matter which option you choose on the phone you go to voicemail then get disconnected. Emails, when answered, seem to be automated as the responses have nothing to do with your request. Their classes seem to be a simple recording they just simply play for end-users. I suddenly had issues with staying connected to their classes as my "free" membership was nearing its end. Then they start sending you emails stating that "they are sorry you missed your class", which you didn't as they should be able to tell that you are clearly logged in. You also have no options online to cancel your membership. They sometimes conveniently buy time by sending an email asking you for your student information as they are unable to find you with your email, which by the way is also how they communicate with you, or they ask for your ID same issue as it is on the actual account. Whoever owns this company is simply scamming people out of their monies. I want a refund for the monies they took out of my account without authorization. They are preying on people and need to be held accountable.

Shaw Academy charged my account $69.99 without my authorization for services I never used and they refuse to process a refund.
I have an issue with Shaw Academy deducting $69.99 out of my account without authorization. I signed up for their FREE trial and never attended any of the classes or even opened the courses. I never used the services they were offering. The only notifications I've received from their company was the harassing emails every second of the day through email and WhatsApp that I didn't attend my class. I have never received any notification reminding me that my free trial was ending and that I would be charged. I have cancelled the subscription which was very difficult to do since they DO NOT have any live human being to speak with. They make it nearly impossible to cancel the subscription, but they can be sure to deduct money out of people's account without any issue at all or any communication at all on the matter. They just have an automated system that takes you through of bunch of hoops and advertisements trying to retain your business. I believe Shaw Academy is a scheme and they are ripping people off. I reached out to Shaw Academy for them to resolve my issue and have asked for a refund, but they refuse to refund my money when I have never used their services.

Refuses to refund $69.99 that was unauthorized.
I used a promo from Tmobile Tuesday for a free 4 week class. No credit card needed as a promo code was given.
I forgot about it and never used the course. Then I got a charged on 5/XXXXX for $69.99 one of my debit cards. I never provided this card number. I don't know how they got the number. I sent several emails but, they refuse to refund. They keep offering products at discounted prices while completely ignoring my refund request

Shaw academy doesn't want to refund money for accidental pressing on 1 click buy button.
I signed up for a 4 weeks free trial and as soon as I got in to the account I accidentally pressed on 1 click purchase button that is next to the lessons button and they charged me $40 for some stupid toolkit. I immediately emailed them and asked for a refund. First I got an email that they do not have an account with my email and asked for additional info. Then after I sent them what they asked for the didn't respond for few days. After waiting few days I wrote them another email and explained again what happened. They finally replied and told me that they can't do a refund but the can offer me some sort of $199 credit towards purchasing another toolkit and hard copy certificate of completion of the course. I don't need any of that stuff. I just want my money back.

I just need a refund of $39.95 for a purchase that I don't need and accidentally made.

I cacelcancelled account within the 4 weeks time and was sent an email to confirm this. I still got charged the full amount and now refused refund.
This company is a fraud, they will steal your money, no warnings, they just take it. I unsubscribed and deleted my profile, as a consequence they took 49.99 from my bank account. There is a 4 week free trial, I was a member for 1 week. The cancellation process was long but I got an email saying it had now been cancelled.

However they still charged me a month later. No refund. They set me up! To protect myself from further problems with Shaw Academy I deleted my accounts and never want any of their services. After one week of membership (until 4 is free) they charged me 49.99 GBP directly from my account. No invoice, no pre warning. They have a thug mind. I had to cancel my bank cards and call my bank informing that these guys will attempt to take money from my account
