I wanted to cancel my free membership.Cancellation was made difficult , how Shaw Academy set it up online.I was 1-day late in canceling and charged.
On May 7th, 1 -day before the free trial period end date, I logged on to my account to cancel around 9pm. It took me to several pages making it difficult to cancel. The last page instructed that I call the phone number from 9am-8pm. On May 8th which was a Friday, I called the number around 5pm due to work. To my surprise, automated messaged said call center closes at 5pm, not 8pm.
On Monday 5/11, only ONE BUSINESS DAY LATE from free trial end date, I canceled my account. I was charged the full amount. I sent several emails explaining what happened but the representative stated I was late in canceling so I will be charged full amount. I think it is unfair practice since I made attempts to cancel online but their website did not allow me to. When I called the call center was closed before the stated time on the instruction given to me the day before. They should provide customer's a courtesy as I was only one day late in canceling due to no fault of my own.
Desired Outcome
Shaw Academy billing should refund $69.99 back to my payment method.

I subscribed to a 30 day free trial and went to cancel it today (day 29) and they had already charged me a premium subscription fee.
I started a free subscription with Shaw on April 15th, and asked them for an email reminder when that subscription was up. Yesterday (may 12th) it said I had three days left, but today (may 13th) I went on to cancel it and they had already charged me for a premium membership. Never got an email. Today is day 29 of 30, I should not have been charged. I was charged $69.99 to my debit card.
Desired Outcome
I want a full refund.

I was clearly not planning on resubscribing as I did not view all the class material. I have also not viewed any of the material that they charged me for. I caught the charge the day it happened before it was even processed and they refused a refund. I had misunderstood and thought it was a 30 day trial. However, they had promised a reminder email letting me know before my trial was up and I never got it. I check my email every day and I had it been sent I would've realized I was wrong About the trial length and unsubscribed before being charged. I messaged them a few times about this and got no answers until someone finally Emailed me saying it was sent three days before my trial ended. This is absolutely not true. I have every email they've ever sent me and a reminder email was definitely never sent to me. I still think all things considered, I should be refunded.

I join a course and within two days of joining decided that I wanted to cancel the free trial. I called and could not get ahold of anyone so I emailed them to request the cancellation.
Their support team responded to my request saying that my account was cancelled on 4/15/2020
" Your membership with Shaw Academy has now been cancelled. It will be reflected within 24 hours in your account."
They even stated that two months of free access would be added to my account too so that I could still attend the courses I had originally signed up for.
However it is now one month later and they just debited my account for $69.99! I emailed them again and they say that I DID NOT cancel my account and that they are unable to refund me...
SCAM SCAM SCAM!
Sad to see companies like this take money from individuals especially in a global pandemic when many people are struggling financially!
I never received the services they indicated on their ad. I'm requesting a refund and they are unresponsive.
On Monday Apr. 13, 2020, I signed up for the 4-week free trial for one of the courses. I never received an email confirmation when I signed up, but I did get a WhatsApp message about the upcoming appointment. I was unable to login with the link sent since my email credentials weren't matching. I tried everything and couldn't log into my "student page". I messaged them on WhatsApp on Thursday Apr. XX XXXX about missing the class scheduled for April 15, 2020 and the fact that I hadn't been able to log in. I never received a response. On Friday May 8, I reached out to them via email at ***@shawacademy.com to cancel before the trial period ended on May 11, 2020. They responded and said they couldn't find me on their record. They requested the following information:
-Full Name
-Phone Number(with ISD/country code)
-Payment Receipt(With card last 4 digits or PayPal email address)
I emailed back with everything except for the payment receipt that I never received. I did give them the last 4 numbers of the debit card I used. I never heard back from them. I have reached out multiple times to cancel and haven't had any success. By now, my account has been charged the $69.99 after-trial fee. This is also erroneous, their site claims the classes are $49.99 after the trial period. On Wednesday May 13, 2020 I sent an email to ***@shawacademy.com after seeing a post on the Instagram page @shawacademy.scam. The post claimed this was the direct person to reach out to and I sent an email explaining the situation and requesting a refund. I have yet to hear back. Overall, I am feeling scammed, ignored, and disappointed in the whole matter.
Desired Outcome
I would like to be refunded the full amount of $69.99 and to be taken off their billing cycle.

I signed up for their free trial and cancelled before it expired. I got an email of successful cancellation but was charged of $59.99 twice after that
March 27 before my free trial was to expire, I cancelled it through the website and it said to call a number. I did. But it was hard to get intouch with someone and gave my number so that they can call me back but I never got the back. And so I sent the first email requesting cancellation. (See 1st picture). 2nd picture was a reply saying there was an issue cancelling and would take about 48 hours to see changes(that was on Mar 30). 3rd picture-April 2nd got a reply saying its been cancelled. 4th picture - April 17, my card was charged. So I try to get a hold of them and failed. And then today, I got charged again. I got charged $59.99 twice After receiving an email from them about successfully canceling their services.
Desired Outcome
I need to be given back my money that they charged my card twice. And they have to stop charging my card.

Shaw Academy refuses to cancel our courses, despite calling and emailing.
My wife and I enrolled in Shaw Academy after seeing an advertisement online; free course if completed within a month. We were interested in the photography course. We both put in our credit cards for payment for after the month trial if we decided to continue.
I do some research the next day; low and behold, many reviews said scam and that their "diplomas" aren't worth anything. And getting them to cancel courses/refund money is notoriously difficult.
My wife called in light of this to cancel and, sure enough, they refused to cancel. I sent emails, they spammed me with offers of premium membership.
They have not charged us (yet), but I WILL take them to court and bring *** with me if they charge either myself or my wife.
All we want is our request of cancellation to be honored, which they are refusing to do. I don't want the hassle of having to track them down to get reimbursed on an unauthorized charge.
Desired Outcome
Cancellation of courses and emailed proof of cancellation, as specified by my email to them, no charging us.

I accept that response, as I had requested an email confirming the cancellation and received such email.
Now, while I DO appreciate Shaw Academy's response in cancelling my courses, I would like one more email assuring me that no charges will be made to my bank account @ ***@gmail.com; accordingly, an email to my wife *** at ***@yahoo.com assuring her that she will not be charged either, as she cancelled a little before this response.
I include this only because I have seen multiple reviews stating charges were still made to accounts that cancelled during their trial after the trial period was up.
Thank you again to Shaw Academy for respecting my wishes
Shaw academy processed an unauthorized charge on my be it card. I claimed a refund but they are ignoring me.
On April 30 I subscribe to Shaw accademy for attending a nutrition course. They course was free but they still wanted my credit card information to avoid people to subscribe without really attending the lessons. When the course started I was trying to attend my first class but here was no way to start it. I wrote to them, I look for assistance, I checked the menu, but the class would not start, the only option I had on the Web site was to push on a Toolkit link. So I pressed it, expecting another step before the payment; I expected to see some options coming or, at least, a confirmation step before any sort of payment. Instead I was charged right the way. I immediately cancelled my subscription, so not only I didn't use that Toolkit, I also did not attend any class. I have been writing to them for more then 2 weeks asking for a refund, but they are ignoring my e mails. The way they conduct their business and the way their website is built is very tricky, even dishonest in my opinion. Expecially in this difficult moment, when people are struggling for money because cannot work, their are taking advantage of us. On 05/04/20 my debit card was charged 39.95 and even if I am claiming my refund they are literally ignoring me.
Desired Outcome

I am very satisfied. Revdex.com solved my problem. Thank you
I couldn't cancel my free trial in time because their automated system won't do it on the weekend.
On April 6th, I signed up for a free 4 week trial of Shaw academy. The trial went well, but that is all I wanted to do. My subscription was set to start on May 4th, so on Sunday, May 3rd, I attempted to cancel it. I went through ALL the steps online. Finally it said that I'd have to call a number to cancel. So I called the number and the automated voice said I'd have to call during business hours. I still called once more on Sunday, but got the same reply. I called Monday morning and still got the same reply until "office hours". When I finally got through, it was still automated and took me through many steps which I did and then it said I already had paid for the month's subscription. I still canceled but wasn't able to get to talk to anyone to get my money back. When I signed up, I knew I'd need to cancel before May 4th and I tried to. But it never said that it had to be done during business hours. I would have done so if I would have known. I have been in email contact with them and all they want to do is give more instead of just giving me my money back. That's all I want because it wasn't disclosed that you had to cancel during business hours. I keep getting automated answers and phone numbers don't work, and I am extremely frustrated at how they are handling this.
Desired Outcome
I would like my $69.99 refunded to my account.

Thank you for agreeing to refund the money back to my account.
Shaw Academy Cancelled my account in their own accord and then continued to charge me after the fact.
On April 9 I opened an account on the Shaw Academy site for a free trial after their T-Mobile Tuesday promotion, within minutes I received an email from Shaw Academy cancelling my account due to their inability to keep up with overwhelming demand.
Note: I did not cancel the account myself
Portion of their cancellation email below:
" We wanted to apologise as with the unexpected volumes of new students, we were quickly out resourced and we recognise there have been issues with our students experiences lately. We are working fast to solve the problem, and in order to give back during this time we would like to give you 2 months access completely free, so that you can continue to learn even having cancelled your membership, there is no further charges, just 2 months on us to say thank you for choosing Shaw Academy and to assist you through the troubling times we all face in the current global climate. Please allow us 48 hours to apply this 2 months to your account."
The Shaw Academy states within the email that a credit for 2 months free will be applied to my account within 48 hours; the credit is never applied to my account and my account is subsequently charged on May 8th.
On May 9th, I reached out to their team about a be refund they claimed that they were unable to refund the charge due their agreement terms; and continued to push their services.
Desired Outcome
I would like the refund of the $69.99 that was charged.

This company is a fraud, they will steal your money, no warnings, they just take it. I unsubscribed and deleted my profile, as a consequence they took 49.99 from my bank account. There is a 4 week free trial, I was a member for 1 week. The cancellation process was long but I got an email saying it had now been cancelled.
However they still charged me a month later. No refund. They set me up! To protect myself from further problems with Shaw Academy I deleted my accounts and never want any of their services. After one week of membership (until 4 is free) they charged me 49.99 GBP directly from my account. No invoice, no pre warning. They have a thug mind. Shaw academy doesn't want to refund money for accidental pressing on 1 click buy button.
I signed up for a 4 weeks free trial and as soon as I got in to the account I accidentally pressed on 1 click purchase button that is next to the lessons button and they charged me $40 for some stupid toolkit. I immediately emailed them and asked for a refund. First I got an email that they do not have an account with my email and asked for additional info. Then after I sent them what they asked for the didn't respond for few days. After waiting few days I wrote them another email and explained again what happened. They finally replied and told me that they can't do a refund but the can offer me some sort of $199 credit towards purchasing another toolkit and hard copy certificate of completion of the course. I don't need any of that stuff. I just want my money back.

Shaw Academy charged my account $69.99 without my authorization for services I never used and they refuse to process a refund.
I have an issue with Shaw Academy deducting $69.99 out of my account without authorization. I signed up for their FREE trial and never attended any of the classes or even opened the courses. I never used the services they were offering. The only notifications I've received from their company was the harassing emails every second of the day through email and WhatsApp that I didn't attend my class. I have never received any notification reminding me that my free trial was ending and that I would be charged. I have cancelled the subscription which was very difficult to do since they DO NOT have any live human being to speak with. They make it nearly impossible to cancel the subscription, but they can be sure to deduct money out of people's account without any issue at all or any communication at all on the matter. They just have an automated system that takes you through of bunch of hoops and advertisements trying to retain your business. I believe Shaw Academy is a scheme and they are ripping people off. I reached out to Shaw Academy for them to resolve my issue and have asked for a refund, but they refuse to refund my money when I have never used their services.
Desired Outcome
The resolution that I am seeking is for Shaw Academy to refund the $69.99 they took out of my account without authorization.

I have attempted to cancel membership via email/phone - no response & calls simply loop. I continue receiving emails that seem automated & unrelated.
I was charged ___ during my "free" trial period. Tried to cancel once I found out via email and on the phone to no avail. No matter which option you choose on the phone you go to voicemail then get disconnected. Emails, when answered, seem to be automated as the responses have nothing to do with your request. Their classes seem to be a simple recording they just simply play for end-users. I suddenly had issues with staying connected to their classes as my "free" membership was nearing its end. Then they start sending you emails stating that "they are sorry you missed your class", which you didn't as they should be able to tell that you are clearly logged in. You also have no options online to cancel your membership. They sometimes conveniently buy time by sending an email asking you for your student information as they are unable to find you with your email, which by the way is also how they communicate with you, or they ask for your ID same issue as it is on the actual account. Whoever owns this company is simply scamming people out of their monies. I want a refund for the monies they took out of my account without authorization. They are preying on people and need to be held accountable.
Desired Outcome
I want nothing more than a FULL refund.

I signed up for a free course with Shaw Academy on April 8, well aware that I had the option to purchase a study guide and/or the certificate after a final exam. I did not choose to pay for either, and several weeks later on May 6, I found money withdrawn from my bank account. A free course is not equivalent to $34.99.
Furthermore, I tried contacting the business by phone. They're not accepting phone calls. I sent two emails, one on Thursday the 7th, and one the following Sunday. Neither received a response. I would believe that any legitimate company would reply.

This company offered a free 30 day trial membership for their digital marketing class. Several days before my free trial period was up this company charged my card for $70 without giving me the opportunity to cancel my trial membership within the allotted 30 day trial period. Shaw Academy offered 4 weeks of free trial. That's why I subscribed to their services on April 11, 2020. However I cancelled my membership on April 21, 2020. Shaw Academy debited C$69,99 from my Paypal account (out of the blue) on May 9, 2020 DESPITE my cancellation almost 3 weeks before. I got in touch with them on May 9, 2020 to get a refund. "Patrick from Shaw Academy" finally got back to me on May 11, 2020. He refused to refund my account, pretending that I have never cancelled my membership during their 4 weeks free trial time period. Which is, obviously, a lie. In his last email on May 12, 2020, he persists: "I have reviewed your email and this matter further however, unfortunately there is no way at all a refund can be processed for you."

I would like to be refunded the full amount of $69.99 and to be taken off their billing cycle.
Dear Student,
Your refund has been processed as per your request. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

I need to be given back my money that they charged my card twice. And they have to stop charging my card.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.
We have also processed your refund. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

Cancellation of courses and emailed proof of cancellation, as specified by my email to them, no charging us.
Dear student,
The subscription linked to the email id "***@gmail.com" was Cancelled on 13-May-XXXX XX:XX.
Please share the registered email id of your wife to cancel the subscription linked to that email id. You can also contact us directly at ***@shawacademy.com for any assistance.
Thank you
Shaw Academy
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I just want my refund
Dear Student,

I would like the refund of the $69.99 that was charged.
Dear Student,
Your refund has been processed as per your request. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

I cacelcancelled account within the 4 weeks time and was sent an email to confirm this. I still got charged the full amount and now refused refund.
I had to cancel my bank cards and call my bank informing that these guys will attempt to take money from my account
I need a full refund for the services that I rightfully cancelled and never used.

I just need a refund of $39.95 for a purchase that I don't need and accidentally made.

Refuses to refund $69.99 that was unauthorized.
I used a promo from Tmobile Tuesday for a free 4 week class. No credit card needed as a promo code was given.
I forgot about it and never used the course. Then I got a charged on 5/XXXXX for $69.99 one of my debit cards. I never provided this card number. I don't know how they got the number. I sent several emails but, they refuse to refund. They keep offering products at discounted prices while completely ignoring my refund request
I want a full refund of $69.99

I want nothing more than a FULL refund.

Tried to cancel my free trial. Website will not allow it. Cannot reach anyone to resolve. Charges are now pending on my credit card. I want a refund.
April 14, 2020 I signed up for a free trial. I have been trying to cancel the trail though their website to avoid a charge. I have been unsuccessful and cannot reach anyone. There is NO customer service number available to make a call. I now have a charge pending on my credit card.
I need the amount of $69.99 to be refunded and my membership discontinued.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.

I signed up for a FREE course with Shaw Academy, for which I was charged a few weeks later.
I would like a refund for the "free" course that I intentionally chose to NOT pay for.

This company offered a 30 free trial and then charged my card before the trial was up.
This company offered a free 30 day trial membership for their digital marketing class. Several days before my free trial period was up this company charged my card for $70 without giving me the opportunity to cancel my trial membership within the allotted 30 day trial period. I contacted them by email and they informed me that it is apart of their terms and conditions to charge someone within the free 30 day trial period without giving them the opportunity to cancel. I read over the terms and conditions and no such thing is written in there. I have attached below a screenshot of the date that I started up services with this company which was April 13th, 2020 and a screenshot of the cancellation which was on May 11th, 2020.
I just want my money to be returned to my account, it was their mistake to charge my card within the free 30 day trial period.

I cancelled my *FREE subscription with you on 14 April 2020, but I got charged R399 on 11 May 2020. Why did this happen and may I get my money back?
I cancelled my *FREE subscription with Shaw Academy on the 14th of April 2020 because I was dissatisfied with the course I took. You *CONFIRMED that my subscription was cancelled, but I still got charged R399 on the 11th of May 2020.
I need a refund of R399 back to my account, and please stop taking money off my account in future.

Unauthorized
I know thousands of people had the exact same issue with this company, dealing with the exact same emails from "Patrick".
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thank you for your help.
I want my C$69,99 back.
