It's exactly what I was looking to get.
Unauthorised charges taken out of account
I originally signed up for the 30 day free trial. I then received an email to say money had already been taken from my paypal account several times, UNAUTHORISED, this was not stated, and that I was going to be charged a fee of £69.99. I read several reviews online saying that they had been scammed too, I had no option to cancel online as my account was made inaccessible, I rang the company number several times but as this was a US number I couldn't get through, I was then harassed with phone calls from people trying to ask for more money and to buy this that and the other on the website, and text messages that I had to block, no one attempted to help my query. I have contacted my bank and asked them to investigate the matter. You have made it impossible for people to cancel the free trial. Must I add that the money has also come out well before the 30 days! I am unsatisfied and disgusted that the company is not reputable and just tries to get as much money from customers as possible
Desired Outcome
I would like a full refund for the huge inconvenience that this has caused. The bank will have no choice but to get involved and this could turn into a legal matter, I have a huge influence over social media and although I do not wish to complain about this company, I may have no other choice but to speak to other people with the same experiences and form a dispute.

Tried a free trial course, and charged without noticing
I decided to take Shaw Academy photography class after seeing the ad on facebook that the course was for free.
First three dollars for Card validation charge, it was okay.
Toolkit for Professional Diploma for 34.95 on April 15, it wasn't okay since I don't have any memory of purchasing it. Maybe I was looking through stuff on the website and clicked something which led to pay this thing, but I did not make any purchase in regular way which I normally purchase things (card number, last three digits, confirmation,. etc.).
Honestly, I was too lazy to contact the academy and did not want to waste my time for this. (I found out that module kit provided me a course materials that I can download after realizing I got charged 34.95. At least I got something, so didn't contact them even though I haven't revisited nor downloaded the course slides.)
And now, I realized that you charged 69.99 on May 1 which was titled as "Shaw Academy Premium Membership Monthly Subscription". What is this? I don't remember subscribing this at all. I don't even know the premium membership existed, and I don't want to pay for this since I don't know what it does. Please give me refund. It is very disgraceful to charge things without students' intention of purchasing your product.
I am looking forward to see some kind of an explanation and solution for this from the academy.
Desired Outcome
Full refund on 34.95 of Module kit which was charged on April 15, and 69.99 on Shaw Academy Premium Membership Monthly Subscription which was charged on May 1.

I was incorrectly billed for the so called 'Toolkit' that is available for purchase at the price of £39.95. Never confirmed the purchase.
Payment method was through HSBC Debit Card (Visa)
Billed Purchase was 'Toolkit' for £39.95
£39.95 was paid on 29 Apr, 2020 11:44 GMT by Visa card ending ***.
Desired Outcome
I seek to obtain a full refund with no further involvement with this company again as I feel they cannot be trusted and I want people to know that their customer service team is unable to reply to a customer for over 4 days.

was Unfairly charged. Should've been cancelled.
I signed up to a 4 week free course with shaw academy. The other day I attempted to cancel my account so I would not be charged for another month. I had to insist to cancel several times before it then put me through to a phone number I had to ring in order to cancel.I could not get through to the number but was reassured I would be notified before my trial ended. I was never notified and have just been charged £49.99 to my paypal for a service I did not want and will not use.
Desired Outcome
I wish to be refunded the £49.99 and my account cancelled and no more payments made.

Auto-charging renewals
The company auto-charged a renewal even after deleting the app, and only attending one class. The class was just awful and I was thankful it was free. If I had known there was an auto-renewal, I would have canceled immediately. I contacted them for a refund and they have refused. In this current financial climate, I cannot afford $70, especially for a subpar product.
Desired Outcome
Refund of the amount they charged me.

Customer Service said they cancelled my membership but charged me a month later. Won't refund
I enrolled in the 4-week free trial they offered and cancelled the next day. Their program is structured to where you can't cancel on your account and have to call their hotline with your cancellation reference number. However, after calling, they say to contact customer support by email. I did on April 3,2020, and they said they cancelled my membership and will be updated on my account in 24 hours. However, on May 1,2020, I have been charged on my card and contacted customer service once more about it. They said I did not cancel my membership and would not refund me my money
Desired Outcome
I would like a refund and for my membership to be completely cancelled with my card information and other sensitive information

Shaw Academy took a charge out of my account through Paypal without my authorization. I never verified my card details with them.
Shaw Academy was offering an online Photography course. I signed up for it, however didn't complete the registration, nor did I verify my card details as it seemed suspicious. Shaw Academy repeatedly sent me emails (From March 21, 2020 to March 30, 2020) saying "Verify your card details" and "Complete your registration", though I never replied. They also emailed me on March 27, 2020 with the heading: "Complete your registration and get started today! No card details recquired" and misspelled 'required', furthering my suspicion of their legitimacy. The last email I received from Shaw Academy was on April 1, 2020 saying: "Did something go wrong *** ? You haven't completed your registration for your Diploma in Photography-1". Then, on April 20th, a charge of $69.99 was taken from my account for Shaw Academy through PayPal. I would like to be refunded, as I hadn't authorized this charge.
Desired Outcome
I am seeking a refund from Shaw Academy.

Dear student,
We're sorry to know you were less than satisfied with Shaw Academy. We give the highest priority to the quality of education and support to our students and we would like to make things right.
But we could not find any subscription linked to the email [email protected]
Please contact us directly from your registered email id at ***@shawacademy.com for refund related assistance.
I enrolled in the 4 weeks free trial course for Nutrition. I tried to cancel it, but it does not let me. It gives me an unavailable phone number.
I signed up for the 4 weeks free trial Nutrition class on April 13, 2020.
After getting so MANY emails, texts, and ads pop up on my screen everyday and during the classes, I accidentally clicked on the subscription button so I got charged the full amount for 12 months (279.95$ CAD). The thing is that ShawAcademy already got my credit card information when I signed up for the free trial and it did not even bother to ask me to confirm my subscription.
Moreover, then I decided to get (on purpose this time) the eCertificate to move on to Module 2 since I've already got charged the full amount for a year. As soon as I realized that I would have to pay every single time 34.95$CAD for each eCertificate of the 8 modules, I sent them an email to cancel my membership. I have sent them 3 emails since then with no response from ShawAcademy. So then I tried to cancel it online which led me to a phone number that is currently unavailable for the payment related queries!!! On April 25, 2020, I got charged for the 12 months subscriptions and the eCertificate for Module 1 of the Nutrition class.
To conclude, my membership is impossible to cancel since even though I have cancel it online, I still have to confirm through an agent on the phone. It still says that my membership is active. I don't understand, no one asked me to confirm my paid membership through the phone when it was time to actually pay, but when it's time to cancel, no one bothers to answer. I tried everything though email and the phone (even the phone number in the United States). I also keep getting texts to sign up for the paid membership, get the ToolKits and get the eCertificates. It is a kind of harassment.
Desired Outcome
I would like that :
1- ShawAcademy cancels my paid membership.
2- Get a refund for the incident concerning my 12 months membership. Since it is really easy to accidentally click on the multiple ads on the website, on text or via emails. Also, my free trial is not even finished yet, it is supposed to end on May 13, 2020. Accordingly I cancelled my free trial days before the trial period was over.

I was charged double for services provided by Shaw Academy. I have only reached dead ends when issuing my complaint and request for a refund.
- On April 14, 2020 I signed up for a 4-week Graphic Design class (including 8 lessons) with Shaw Academy. I found out about Shaw Academy through a targeted Instagram add which promised this was a free trial.
- On April 15, 2020 I went to attend my first online class, and the website made it seem like I had to purchase a "toolkit" for "Module 1" (which corresponded with the 8 lessons). This toolkit was advertised as costing $39.95, and being that the rest of the class was free, I didn't mind paying for the toolkit.
- Later that day, I noticed two (2) transactions on my PayPal account in which Shaw Academy had charged me $39.95 (a total of $79.90) (screenshot attached).
- I have sent emails to ***@shawacademy.com and ***@shawacademy.com on April 20, April 22, and April 29. Each time I emailed Shaw Academy requesting a refund for the erroneous charge, I received the same long, pre-written response in verbatim describing the values of the toolkit.. No response regarding the extra charge.
- After my first email on the 20th, my query was given a "unique ID number" #XXXXXXX. But when I went to check the status of my query the website took me to a blank page.
- The only correspondence I've had with an actual person was on April 29th, with someone named Vincent who said: "This ticket (#XXXXXXX) has been updated. If your request is not fully resolved, please reply to this email."
I again could not access the status of the ticket/query.
- After my third email attempt on the 29th, I was given a new "unique ID number" #XXXXXXX, and received the same pre-written response describing the values of the toolkit.
- While I do not deny the value of the toolkit, and the value of the lessons I have taken, I am merely trying to receive a refund for the extra charge to my account, and trying to get through to any form of customer service has been infuriating.
Desired Outcome
- I would like a full refund for the extra charge to my PayPal account which was made in error (a total of $39.95).
- I would also like to immediately cancel my membership with Shaw Academy.
- I do not want to continue my online lessons, and I would like to be removed from the Shaw Academy email list.

It has been 8 days since Shaw Academy responded to my initial complaint, and still no refund. If a refund had been processed (which I do not believe it has) it should not take this long, especially not through Paypal. I am satisfied that Shaw Academy FINALLY sent me my refund after attempting for over a month to be refunded. It's a shame that I even needed to contact the Revdex.com, but I'm thankful that they were able to help me get my refund.
I registered for a free 4 weeks online course, then come renewal time for paid membership, I tried to cancel online but was no success.
I canceled online through their website, but they wanted me to call a number that is not even real. I emailed them also to call because it is impossible to call the number they wanted me to call. They responded to my email wanting me to call. Why is it hard for them to CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP. I don't want to be charged and they are making it impossible for me. They gave me a student number XXXXX as a reference number. I emailed them on May 1, 2020 when they supposed to charge my account.
Desired Outcome
I wanted a full refund and cancellation of my membership and my method of payment to be removed from their database. Also, after this resolution, I do not want to receive any marketing information from their company.

signed up for free 4 week course with no card. I am being charged $60.99. After I tried contacting them & paypal about the matter I was charged again.
T-mobile had a promotion for T-mobile Tuesdays that you could get a free 4 week course from Shaw Academy. They informed you on the site that to get the free trial you choose a class and then continued with no card. so I did but after the class was over on 4/25/2020 at 5:06 they charged me $60.99. At this point I contacted PayPal and they denied the return of my money because it wasn't considered unauthorized because I was in an agreement with Shaw Academy. which I was but only for a 4 week course trial and I didn't give them my PayPal or card information. All PayPal would say was that I was in an agreement with them and if I wanted my money back I needed to contact Shaw Academy or my bank. So I tried contacting Shaw Academy on (4/24/2020) and they only way to do that was through email. I sent them one and I got an automated response that they needed all my information to find the charge. I immediately responded with the information but 2 days (4/26/2020) went by with no response. So I sent another email I got another automated response asking for information. I sent the information right then. It has now been 4 days (4/27/2020) with no response. I emailed them telling them I hadn't heard from them could the put my money back, no response. So on 5/1/2020 I sent an email saying I had not heard from them in 5 days so I was filing a complaint with the Revdex.com. As of 5/2/2020 still no response.
Desired Outcome
At this point I know I want my money back but they put a block on my card so now I have missed payments and can not use my card for anything. I have to speak directly with a bank teller to do anything with my account. They bank says they can remove the block but then Shaw Academy will take money from my account again. They also said that they could cancel the card but because it looks like I'm in and agreement with them visa will just start up with letting Shaw Academy pull money. So I'm completely stuck. I would also like all my information deleted from there system.

Shaw Academy made an unauthorized transaction of $34.95 on April 3, against my credit card, for a "toolkit" I did not willingly agree to purchase.
Shaw Academy made an unauthorized transaction of $34.95 on April 3, against my credit card, for a "toolkit" I did not willingly agree to purchase. I had registered for a "Free" photography course and took my credit card number during registration (they would charge a subscription fee if I didn't cancel within 30 days). Before the first webinar they sent a message to my cell phone to inform me that the course was starting. The message included a link to click on to access the course. When I clicked on it I was notified that I purchased a supposed "toolkit" for the course which cost $34.95. I immediately submitted an inquiry to their support centre and asked them to refund my credit card for the unauthorized transaction, and to cancel my account. They responded saying they couldn't access my account, questioning which email address I used for registration. I went back and forth with someone from billings for 3 days (4 separate email responses to their emails) and they finally said they found my account but couldn't refund me because the toolkit was already made available, but they would provide 3 other modules and a hard copy diploma which I didn't want. When I logged into my account on their website there were no modules or a toolkit in my account. I would like Shaw Academy to provide a refund.
Desired Outcome
this is their response my last email sent on April 10th.

Hi ***,
Thank you for contacting us.
I was able to pull up your account using - ***@outliok.com
I see that you have purchased the Toolkit shown in your members area, course page, pop-up banner and email.
Your Toolkit includes Webinar Slides for every lesson, Summary Notes for every lesson and Bonus Videos and has proven to be very popular as supporting materials for your classes and revision notes as well. Students using Toolkit very often have both higher completion rates and grades for their courses.
You can also download these materials and save them on your device for future reference even after your access period expires.
You can access the toolkit resources under the "Resources" tab on your course page through your student login area (http://www.shawacademy.com/login.php) using a web browser.
Once the Toolkit is activated in your account it is made available to you and we have transferred the content to you hence it cannot be disabled as it was provided therefore, we cannot refund.
However, we at Shaw Academy do want to ensure you benefit thoroughly from our services. Our mission is higher education at lower cost and my role is to ensure you achieve your learning outcomes, gain the skills you want and need and enjoy the process as well. I have therefore taken the liberty of speaking my manager and we would like to offer you credit to the value of $199 which can be used for 3 remaining module toolkits and 1 hard copy diploma. This is far in excess of what you paid and you have had access until now and will continue to do so for life.
I have activated this for you in your account, so you have 3 additional toolkits and a hard copy for free now.
All that is left to say now is that attending your lessons is key to succeeding, you started with real goals and all you need to do is attend one class at a time and you will achieve them.
We pride ourselves on our product and the high-quality standards we maintain. We would like to make things right.

Overcharged for subscription after trial period after zero correspondence/reminders. Shaw is unwilling to refund even a percentage.
I signed up for online class on 29 March. The course began on 30 March. The course failed to load in any browser so it became not worth my time. People have other things which are worth more time than remembering to unsubscribe a free trial.
30 days passed without any sort of emails, reminders, calls, or any other form of correspondence. I get charged $69.99 on 30 April, again reiterated, after zero communication from Shaw.
On their website, they publish $49.99 per month. So, once they know people are not paying enough attention, they are quietly charging people more than they are advertising. I realize that legally and in contracts, they probably can do this, but that doesn't make it right or ethical. They are exploiting people who have, especially these day, much bigger things on their minds.
Desired Outcome
I never was able to receive any product from Shaw Academy due to lack of availability, therefore I am expecting a refund for the unruly amount charged of $69.99.

Despite being satisfied with the outcome, I wish the Revdex.com could provide some accountability or direct action against companies that conduct business this way. It is predatory and unethical, and I guarantee this happens to many, many people who aren't as aggressive with resolving such practices. Shaw Academy and other companies will continue to do this because there are zero repercussions for their actions. Profits above all else.
Cancellation of 4 week trial and refund of toolkit($39.99) and e-diploma($39.99).
This is the email that I sent to them:
I have tried to contact you via phone to ensure the cancellation of my account, which includes a 4 week trial, starting 5/2/2020 and to end by 5/26/2020. I am no longer interested in the 4 week classes. I know that I should not have been charged at this point, but your reviews show difficulties in contacting you via the number you give(XXXX XXX XXXX) (reference number: XXXXX), which by the way, doesn't work. As of today, I still have not received the refund, but it has only been 4 days since their response. Should I not get it, I will change my response.
I signed for a free 4-week course and 28 days later was charged $69.99 and the phone number I was given to cancel is not a valid number.
I signed up for a free 4-week course on April 5, 2020. I was not made aware of any other charges. When attempting to cancel my membership, I begin the process online, but am required to call and the number given when called says "your call cannot be completed as dialed." I was charged on May 3, 2020 $69.99 to my credit card. The terms of this free trial were not made clear. I did not authorize this charge.
Desired Outcome
I am seeking full refund of the $69.99 and a cancellation of membership with Shaw Academy, LLC.

I signed up under a free trial offered from my wireless provider: I was unsuccessful in using the platform to take the class I signed up for: canceled
I was told I would not be charged! I have been: $20 more than the price quoted! I cannot reach the company/ previous emails not available and current emails are not being returned. The format is not user friendly! I just want my $69.99 returned and warn people not to use Shaw academy
Desired Outcome
Refund

I never purchased the online course in fact I unsubscribed and now my credit card is being charged. This is supposed to have been a free thing only to get ripped off.
I want my credit card refunded.

I would like a full refund for the huge inconvenience that this has caused. The bank will have no choice but to get involved and this could turn into a legal matter, I have a huge influence over social media and although I do not wish to complain about this company, I may have no other choice but to speak to other people with the same experiences and form a dispute.
Dear Student,
Your refund has been processed as per your request. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.
Thank you
Tried a free trial course, and charged without noticing
Full refund on 34.95 of Module kit which was charged on April 15, and 69.99 on Shaw Academy Premium Membership Monthly Subscription which was charged on May 1.
Dear Student,
Your refund has been processed as per your request. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.
Thank you
I was incorrectly billed for the so called 'Toolkit' that is available for purchase at the price of £39.95. Never confirmed the purchase.
Payment method was through HSBC Debit Card (Visa)
Billed Purchase was 'Toolkit' for £39.95
£39.95 was paid on 29 Apr, 2020 11:44 GMT by Visa card ending ***.

I wish to be refunded the £49.99 and my account cancelled and no more payments made.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. We have also processed your refund. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

Refund of the amount they charged me.
Dear Student,
Your refund has been processed as per your request. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

I would like that : 1- ShawAcademy cancels my paid membership.
Dear Student,
Our support team has informed that the issue has been resolved.

Tried to cancel membership, but phone number XXXX XXX XXXX on cancelation page was not active. Emailed for cancelation, but still processed payment.
on April 30th I've tried to cancel my subscription on their website and it lead me to a number to call to confirm the cancelation XXXX XXX XXXX. I tried calling the number and it was not active. May 1st I emailed Shaw after to confirm the cancelation to avoid any payment and their email response did not mention about the inactive number or even canceling my subscription.

The next day I was charged $69.99 from Shaw, and I emailed them asking for a refund and cancelation, but only getting generic responses.
I am seeking a full refund and also cancelation from the service.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. We have also processed your refund. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.
Thank you
I tried multiple times to cancel my free trial and I checked this morning and see £49.99 taken out of my account
I tried to call, email, cancel on the website, but the cancellation process is stupidly complicated. after the sup par first lesson I immediately emailed to cancel my free trial, no reply, I called and I was on the phone for 20 minutes talking to a bot. this is ridiculous and I am entitled to a full refund
i just want to terminate my account and i want my money back

The attached screenshot was taken this morning (May 15, 2020), and shows no refund or pending payment from Shaw Academy. What are the next steps if the business has not fulfilled the action they promised?
Dear student,

I wanted a full refund and cancellation of my membership and my method of payment to be removed from their database. Also, after this resolution, I do not want to receive any marketing information from their company.
Dear Student,
Our support team has informed that your refund has been processed as per your request. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

signed up for free 4 week course with no card.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. We have also processed your refund.
It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

I accepted because I don't think they will do any better even though they messed up my card and account with my bank but I got my money back and I have learned my lesson.
Dear student,
Your complaint was handled by our priority support team directly and we have processed your refund. We apologise for the miscommunication from our support team.
Please contact your bank to confirm whether the refund has been credited back to your account. Please revert in case of any further assistance at ***@shawacademy.com

I just wanted to make sure my account information was safe. Now they have confirmed that the staff did not now what they were talking about.
Wanting to cancel with more than enough time before the free trail is over. Cancellation is a run around; trying to contact them directly a no go.
I signed up for their free trail on April 15, 2020 and am trying to cancel the membership with more than enough time (as of today May 1, 2020 - I have 12 days before my free trail is over. I went through the process of cancellation online and the last message through the website is to contact the number XXXX XXX XXXX that does not exist. I have attached a screenshot of the message for cancellation. I have also contacted their direct number listed through the Revdex.com with no luck getting someone on the phone. I have tried to call at different hours of the day with no luck. I have emailed at their support email address and contact them through direct Facebook Message with no luck either. I would like to ensure that my membership is cancelled and no payments from this company are taken on my credit card.
I would like to receive a cancellation confirmation by email (***@gmail.com). The confirmation also stating that my credit card will not be charged for anything to do with SHAW ACADEMY.
Dear student,
Your subscription is Cancelled on 02-May-XXXX XX:XX Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.
Thank you
I have received a cancellation email on May 1, 2020. Although I would like to add that I have received 6 emails since then asking me to reconsider my cancellation.
When I was signed up for the free trail I received at least 6 emails from them with promotions or offers. I found their business practices annoying to say the least.
The case can be closed for now, if I am charged anything for the cancellation I will let you know.
Thanks!
I would like Shaw Academy to provide a refund.
this is their response my last email sent on April 10th. Gomes (Shaw Academy) Apr 11, 07:39 IST Hi ***, Thank you for contacting us. I was able to pull up your account using - ***@outliok.com I see that you have purchased the Toolkit shown in your members area, course page, pop-up banner and email.
I never was able to receive any product from Shaw Academy due to lack of availability, therefore I am expecting a refund for the unruly amount charged of $69.99.
Dear Student,
Our support team has informed that your refund has been processed as per your request. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The idea contained in the response is acceptable, however no action has been done.
Regarding the content and intentions of said response, I have not received a refund nor any indication of a pending refund of any amount.
Dear student,
Thank you for bringing this to our notice. We had settlement issues with some transactions. We are in the process of resolving those issues.
Your patience and cooperation is appreciated.
Thank you
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I am reporting this to the Revdex.com and I would hope that the cost of the e-diploma($39.99) and tool kit($39.99) would be reimbursed. It is really sad that this has happened. Please contact me to let me know that the account is closed.
I would like a refund of the $79.98 that I spent with them for the toolkit and the e-diploma that I spent.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. We have also processed your refund. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.

I am seeking full refund of the $69.99 and a cancellation of membership with Shaw Academy, LLC.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. We have also processed your refund. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.
