Been trying to cancel since 17th and was asked to call +XXXXXXXXXXX it went to voice mail I left several messages, no response.
Sent an email on the 20th Apr and 21st a Gomez responded and on the 22nd I was debited $69.99.
on that same day I received a call from one of their course representatives, he asked me how the course was going and I said I wanted to cancel, he said he cant help me with that I should contact support. I told him I already did and he said ok then and hung up.
I have sent several emails after that no reply. I cant cancel still and cant remove my debit card information. attached are the threads between shaw and I before they stoped responding. They made cancelling so difficult

I want a refund and my card deactivated from their site. Also i want them to simplify their canceling to a simple button to unsubscribe or cancel. Their current procedure is only defrauding legitimate people who just want to gain new skills.

I was given a free trial via t mobile, I never signed up for anything, was charged this morning and now they won't give me a refund.
I was given a free trial through my cell phone company, I logged into the academy I did not have to provide any payment information, my issue is that when I go into the app I can't find my payment information anywhere, I can't find anywhere where I agree to sign and get to a premium membership, yet I will sign up for a premium membership and charge this morning for something I did not authorize whatsoever.

I attempted cancelling my membership during the free trial (offered through Sprint). It said it was successfully cancelled, yet I was still charged.

I saw an add on Facebook posted by Shaw academy stating they are offering free tutorials for 4 weeks. When I signed up, it requested for payment information but assured that they will not be charging until after 4 weeks. Shortly after I signed up, I rec'd whatsapp messages and automated telephone call confirming my registration. Shortly after that I received a confirmation of payment for 34.95. I tried to log into their website and cancel but my membership but the website didn't recognize my log in information. It reported that my email is not recognized. I sent an email but I rec'd an automated email stating that my email is not recognized and to write a complain with a recognized email ID. Until today, I have no access to their courses that was suppose to be free but charged. No communication from their team. I am still not able to log in and cancel my payment

Basically someone used my card for a free trial or something and I wake up to a transaction on my card they will not refund.
For some reason they said I signed up for a free trial. Mind you I have 0 EMAILS from them prior to this in my email..... no confirmation... no welcome. No nothing in my email from them. I wake up to a transaction I didn't even complete myself and they will NOT refund me my money. Even after telling them I am unemployed. No other source of income and they completely wiped off my cash app card. This is how you know it's not legit someone used my cash app card information not even real debit card so it's not like I can call my bank and get a refund. It sucks. Especially during this pandemic many Americans are out of work and they thing someone wants to take their BS classes right now. We're trying to find jobs and make money. On Tuesday April 21, 2020 I signed up with Shaw academy for there advertised 4 week free Microsoft Excel course. My first class was schedule for Saturday April 25, 2020. On Thursday April 23, 2020 a charge is $69.99 was deducted from my account. I tried sending an email right away requesting a refund. The response I received was unbelievable. I was told that I cannot get a refund. With the current pandemic and being laid off I cannot afford this charge. I am attempting to cancel my free trial/membersip, and cannot reach anyone. I do not want to be charged.
I signed up for a free trial for a graphic design class. I don't know what the paid version looks like. The dashboard I experienced was littered with upgrades. This is by far the least user friendly dashboard experience I have encountered. So much so, that I decided to cancel my membership this morning, on day one of my free trial. I have come to find out that after six prompts to "keep" me as a member - with misleading copywriting tactics, I have to call a number to cancel this membership. I have called four times - each time being told all agents are busy, then being asked for a callback number immediately prior to the line automatically hanging up on me. This entire experience feels like a scam. I need someone to cancel my membership, and not charge me anyway like a lot of people have experienced.

A button on their site doesn't indicate a sale, but processes a $39.95 purchase for a digital product. They refuse to refund.
While trying to access my course material for the first time, I clicked a button that included the word toolkit. I don't remember the exact wording on this button, but I believed it would take me to my course. Instead it took me to a page thanking me for my purchase. Nothing on or around that button indicated that I would be making a purchase. If it had, I wouldn't have clicked it. I immediately contacted Shaw Academy by email to explain what happened and request a refund. They responded the same day with a refusal, but they did offer a $199 credit. That would be generous if I trusted the company. But their sales practice was blatantly fraudulent and their refusal to refund my money highly suspicious. I responded to their email with a polite but firm decline of their offer and a second request for a refund. That was 5 days ago and they still have not responded or processed a refund. Shaw Academy processed a purchase on my behalf for a product I never wanted, and they did so without my knowledge or consent.
Desired Outcome
I need Shaw Academy to refund my money for the full amount they charged for this toolkit.
I want assurance that they will not bill me for anything else. I've cancelled my account with them, but I've seen others complain that they were billed by Shaw even after receiving a cancellation confirmation.
I also want Shaw Academy to change their sales practices so that other users will not be tricked into a purchase the way I was. Customers need to know when they are making a purchase and should be given the opportunity to confirm all purchases.

I've requested a refund of an unauthorized membership charge. Shaw Academy claims policy is clear (it's not) and they absolutely cannot refund me.
I signed up for a free trial with Shaw Academy unaware that I would be charged after four weeks if I didn't cancel the trial. My debit account was charged $59.99. I received a form email back stating that all aspects of the cancellation policy "were made clear at registration, within your member's area and via communications." This is absolutely not true. The policy wasn't clear at registration, was not in my member's area and was never expressed via communications. I emailed several more times and continued to receive emails claiming they could not find my account. Today, I received an email stating my account was found and a refund wasn't something they couldn't do.

The unauthorized charge was refunded.
I tried to cancel my membership so I wouldn't be charged and I was still charged. I tried getting in contact but I was only answered after charged.
I tried to get in contact with Shaws Academy before my trial was up. In the terms and conditions I accepted to, it stated that I would be able to cancel online in their website. This was not the case for me as there was no way to cancel my membership. I even tried emailing them and asking them to cancel it as I did not use the product and could not see myself using it in the future. No response. Today, I was charged for the membership when I requested to cancel time before and they finally answered to my complaint to the refund. Shaw academy stated they would not give me a refund. It is unjust to say in your terms and conditions the consumer can cancel anytime at no charge and then not let them cancel and charge them anyway. I attached a picture below of the membership page where there is NO place to cancel the membership.

They play these games constantly. I have sent numerous emails from the account I signed up.with, ***@gmail.com, and only get automated responses that do nothing to resolve the problem. There are NUMEROUS complaints online of similar practices from Shaw Academy. However, to cancel you subscription you do not have an option online from your Shaw Academy profile. Which is nonsense for the company providing online services.
In order to cancel you subscription you have to call X XXX XXX XXXX. This phone number is not free. However Term Of Use says: "You may be prompted to complete cancelation over the phone using free phone number".
I have been charged for 69.99 CAD on March 28th. I sent an email to ***@shawacademy.com asking to cancel my subscription on April 2nd since I was not able to reach them by the phone.
The same day I recieved a respond saying my subscription has been canceled and will no be active.
However, I have been charged again for 69.99 CAD on April 28th.

I am attempting to cancel my free trial/membersip, and cannot reach anyone. I do not want to be charged.
I signed up for a free trial for a graphic design class. I don't know what the paid version looks like. The dashboard I experienced was littered with upgrades. This is by far the least user friendly dashboard experience I have encountered. So much so, that I decided to cancel my membership this morning, on day one of my free trial. I have come to find out that after six prompts to "keep" me as a member - with misleading copywriting tactics, I have to call a number to cancel this membership. I have called four times - each time being told all agents are busy, then being asked for a callback number immediately prior to the line automatically hanging up on me. This entire experience feels like a scam. I need someone to cancel my membership, and not charge me anyway like a lot of people have experienced.

A button on their site doesn't indicate a sale, but processes a $39.95 purchase for a digital product. They refuse to refund.
While trying to access my course material for the first time, I clicked a button that included the word toolkit. I don't remember the exact wording on this button, but I believed it would take me to my course. Instead it took me to a page thanking me for my purchase. Nothing on or around that button indicated that I would be making a purchase. If it had, I wouldn't have clicked it. I immediately contacted Shaw Academy by email to explain what happened and request a refund. They responded the same day with a refusal, but they did offer a $199 credit. That would be generous if I trusted the company. But their sales practice was blatantly fraudulent and their refusal to refund my money highly suspicious. I responded to their email with a polite but firm decline of their offer and a second request for a refund. That was 5 days ago and they still have not responded or processed a refund. Shaw Academy processed a purchase on my behalf for a product I never wanted, and they did so without my knowledge or consent.
I need Shaw Academy to refund my money for the full amount they charged for this toolkit. I want assurance that they will not bill me for anything else. I've cancelled my account with them, but I've seen others complain that they were billed by Shaw even after receiving a cancellation confirmation. I also want Shaw Academy to change their sales practices so that other users will not be tricked into a purchase the way I was. Customers need to know when they are making a purchase and should be given the opportunity to confirm all purchases.

I've requested a refund of an unauthorized membership charge. Shaw Academy claims policy is clear (it's not) and they absolutely cannot refund me.
I signed up for a free trial with Shaw Academy unaware that I would be charged after four weeks if I didn't cancel the trial. My debit account was charged $59.99. I immediately emailed Shaw Academy to request a refund. I received a form email back stating that all aspects of the cancellation policy "were made clear at registration, within your member's area and via communications." This is absolutely not true. The policy wasn't clear at registration, was not in my member's area and was never expressed via communications. I emailed several more times and continued to receive emails claiming they could not find my account. Today, I received an email stating my account was found and a refund wasn't something they couldn't do.
I want a refund of the $59.99 that I did not authorize, and I want the monthly membership they placed me in canceled.

I tried to cancel my membership so I wouldn't be charged and I was still charged. I tried getting in contact but I was only answered after charged.
I tried to get in contact with Shaws Academy before my trial was up. In the terms and conditions I accepted to, it stated that I would be able to cancel online in their website. This was not the case for me as there was no way to cancel my membership. I even tried emailing them and asking them to cancel it as I did not use the product and could not see myself using it in the future. No response. Today, I was charged for the membership when I requested to cancel time before and they finally answered to my complaint to the refund. Shaw academy stated they would not give me a refund. It is unjust to say in your terms and conditions the consumer can cancel anytime at no charge and then not let them cancel and charge them anyway. I attached a picture below of the membership page where there is NO place to cancel the membership.
I would like a refund of my money (USD$69.99) and the company to please finally cancel my membership and not take any unauthorized payments from my paypal.

On or around March 27, 2020 I signed up for a free trial via Shaw Academy. After doing so I cancelled as I read some reviews that it was a shady site. I reached out to their customer service the same day to ensure the cancellation went through. They assured me that I would not be charged and that my credit card was not even attached to the account.
Today (April 28, 2020) I was charged $69.99 for a month of courses.
I am seeking a refund of the $69.99 Canadian dollars. I will be contacting my credit card company in the morning, as this was a fraudulent purchase. I will be cancelling the card shortly to ensure no further purchases.

They play these games constantly. I have sent numerous emails from the account I signed up.with, ***@gmail.com, and only get automated responses that do nothing to resolve the problem. I will again attach the email I finally received from a real person ( to ***@gmail.com) that states I will not be charged ("please be assured that you will not be charged for this membership until you subscribe"). There are NUMEROUS complaints online of similar practices from Shaw Academy. You are taking advantage of people in a very tight financial situation, during a global pandemic, and are a very unethical company.

I have been trying to cancel my membership. I didn't even start the course and it's hard to cancel membership. I have written to them. They keep emailing me to go online and cancel membership and when I reach the cancellation page, They ask to call the number that is busy. I have sent them an email and asked them to cancel my account with the student ID. And they still keep responding with the same message.

I have been singed up for a free trial on one of the online courses in Shaw Academy.
However, to cancel you subscription you do not have an option online from your Shaw Academy profile. Which is nonsense for the company providing online services.
In order to cancel you subscription you have to call X XXX XXX XXXX. This phone number is not free. However Term Of Use says: "You may be prompted to complete cancelation over the phone using free phone number".
I have been charged for 69.99 CAD on March 28th. I sent an email to ***@shawacademy.com asking to cancel my subscription on April 2nd since I was not able to reach them by the phone.
The same day I recieved a respond saying my subscription has been canceled and will no be active.
However, I have been charged again for 69.99 CAD on April 28th.
I have a confirmation from ***@shawacademy.com saying my membership is cancelled.

I cancelled their 4 week free trial two days prior to deadline. However, they charged my account $34.99 two days prior to deadline. Shaw scams.
Tmobile Tuesdays App shows I redeemed offer on March 27. They claim on invoice, March 25. Their website neither allows me to
close my account nor to remove my form of payment. Their phone line does NOT take calls due to Covid. Email is useless.
I want to close my account and ALL personal information and form of payment. I want them to resolve this with my bank. They need to stop their UNethical business practices!
