I enrolled and cancelled in time. Now they have charged me. I want the money back asap!
I did the free online course. Hi cancelled before the April 30 deadline. I followed all the instructions. Now they have charged the credit card I had to enter in order to do the course. This is robbery! I want the money back and a commitment that I won't be charged again!

I signed on for a free trial and had until May 24 to cancel. The number given to cancel the free trial is an automated line that hangs up on you
I signed up for a free trial. I had until May 24 to cancel that trial. I liked the classes, but I was spammed constantly with phone calls, texts on whatsapp and emails to buy things. Then I read about all of their charges after free trial cancellation on Revdex.com and decided to get out immediately. I went online and tried to cancel my account. I had to go through SEVERAL hard stops only to come to a phone number to call between 11am and 8pm EST the number is 844 331 0005 and I was to use the reference number XXXXX. Only the number is an automated system that tells you everyone is busy and you're being put in a queue and then it says it will call you back. But it's a dummy line because I've called it over and over and over and it's the same message every time. I want out. And there is no way out. Shaw Academy is a scam.

Desired Outcome

I want my free trial canceled and I do not want to be charged. I also think they should not spam people or make it so difficult to unsubscribe but that's neither here nor there.

I signed up for a FREE trial via Facebook AD. Within hours I was charged $1, then $39.95.
I signed up for a free 30 day trial of their service after seeing a Facebook ad on April 24, 2020. Upon completing the sign up I was charged $1 to my Paypal account. I immediately attempted to cancel the service, and was given a 1-800 number to call to cancel with a "reference number" and instructions to call Monday-Friday 11AM-8PM Eastern Time. A Few hours after the initial $1 charge I received a charge of $39.95 on my Paypal account. I have tried calling the 800# I received a recorded message that they have high call volume and someone will return my call to the number I was calling from. No phone call came. I have tried calling every day since and sent an email requesting they refund the charges and reply with confirmation. No response. I sent a second email today with the same request, which I received a long reply saying ti was assigned a case number XXXXXXX and someone would be reaching out within 48 hours. This is after they have sent me 30 emails since April 24, 2020 when I requested the trial and opted out of advertising emails from them!

I would like all charges refunded and any subscriptions they may have signed me up for cancelled.

The cancellation of my subscription in Shaw Academy is made impossible by them not providing a correct telephone number.

I enrolled for a 4 week free trial the 6th of april 2020.
I was planning to cancel this subscription before the end of this free trial. Before the 4th of May 2020. This is allowed as per points 3 and 4 in their Terms of Use.

'We will bill any Payment Method provided by You for your monthly membership fee at the end of the free trial period unless you cancel your membership prior to the end of the free trial period. To view the monthly membership end date of your free trial period, visit our website, log into your student account and we will tell you how long you have left in your My Courses page.'

Allowing me to cancel this subscription free of charge before the 4th of May.
However the telephone number they provide for cancellation in Belgium is unlisted, making it impossible for me to cancel this subscription at the moment.

I was able to recieve a refund.

I attempted to cancel membership and was told I could be reminded. I was not. I tried to cancel again and am now unable.
Upon first attempting to cancel my membership I was told "please stay and we will remind you at the end of your free trial". I was not reminded and was charged.
Upon attempting to cancel my membership again, I was informed via the website that there was only one way to cancel: I have to phone a number: XXXX XXX XXXX. This number was unavailable to me (from Canada) without incurring unknown toll charges. I attempted collect and was told the line does not accept collect. I called the same number again and spoke with an operator (of my phone carrier). The operator informed me that this is not a valid number.
I have repeatedly emailed with no response.

Thank you for your help in this matter.

Please refund the charge, cancel my membership, and delete my account information from your system - this includes my credit card.

Shaw is an internet fraud! advertising a free course online and once they got credit card info are not allowing us to cancel asking to call a dead #
Once a user is subscribed to their course online, when you ask to unsubscribe they are telling us to call a dead number XXXXXXXXXXX in Canada. I have to cancel my credit card to stop charging by shaw.

I have called my bank and canceled my credit card before shaw took money from my account because when I try to cancel my subscription they were asking me to call a dead number. This is a fraud and it need to be corrected for other users.

We like so many businesses are encountering extreme challenges stemming from covid-19. The issues we face relate to staff challenges in all of our office locations including staff unable to attend work and also work from home. This is compounded by a massive increase in student volumes given the sudden shock to the world with new levels of unemployment and significant amounts of people worried about their futures. Last week ten times more students joined that would have been expected. Even with a full complement of staff this would have been challenging but in a covid-19 world far more so. This has put considerable strain on our teams in particular, the customer support.

I registered to this SCAM for a 4 week free trial but cancelled within 2 weeks and never looked at any of the course material.
I registered for a 4 week free trial on the 29th March 2020 and cancelled on 16th April 2020 but on May 1st 2020 a payment was withdrawn for no reason.

The conditions were that you need to cancelled within the 4 weeks, which I did but why are they still taking money out of my account?? Why make rules that not even the company itself can abide by.

I hope someone shuts this company down as I can see so many complaints about them and they are just taking advantage of people during this convid 19 pandemic which is disgusting behaviour!!!

I would like a complete refund, a public apology to everyone that had to go through the same issues and my entire membership/account/course erased permanently!!!

I was charged twice by this company while using their free 4 week trial. 1st time while using their app and now charged for a monthly fee.Total $60usd
On March 16th I joined Shaw Academy's digital marketing course as advertised as free trial for 4 weeks. that same day I was charged 2 times (.50) and (29.99) I sent an email for this issue and never received a response. I ensured that I canceled the subscription to ensure I wasn't charged again.I then saw another ad that I should resubscribe at no cost to finish the course and figured if I paid and won't get that money back I should at least finish it, so I rejoined April 16th. Today (May 1) while still in the free trial status was charged 29.99. This company doesn't value or honor the promotional offers that they are sending their customers and worst of all its a bait and switch kinda of trial plus customer service is terrible. There is no way to get in contact with anyone and their app doesn't allow you to easily cancel your subscription if you run into billing issues such as mine. I'd like my money back in the total of $60.50 USD. Thank you!

Total scam, I canceled my membership the same day, but after a month was charged 69.99
So I subscribe for shaw academy because it was free for 4 weeks.. after reading about them I realized that they are not legit and cancelled my membership the same day. They make it almost impossible to cancel. Website makes you jump through hoops, then it says you must call this number which is just automated and speaking a script going through multiple options over and over before you finally are given their cancellation email address. I have all the emails I sent them asking to cancel my membership but nothing happened and after a month they charged me 69.99$

I have had a charge put on my account because the free trial ran out. I asked to cancel my account but they ignored me until the trial ran out.
I decided to try out their online service about a month an a half ago and I couldnt get as much detail about the program as I wanted before the sign up, so I signed up for the free trial to see how long classes are, what they look like, etc. After I did, I saw how much it costs and how long it was and decided it wasnt for me. I then tried to figure out how to cancel my account and I couldnt find the button. Every time I clicked on membership, it brought up the terms and conditions. I decided to send an email to the staff to get my account canceled. This all happened the same day that I signed up.
It took a few days, but they eventually replied and basically said I was wrong for wanting to cancel and I should "continue pursuing my passions". I continuously replied to emails just like this through the month and they kept saying I need to keep going. At one point, they just stopped replying and sent me a survey! It was a couple days after this that they charged me for the trial running out. I had EXPLICITLY stated that I did not want the service and I needed my subscription cancelled. I sent ANOTHER email to them and they finally were "okay" with cancelling my account, but now they are refusing me a refund. I do not want the service and NEVER once used it, but for some reason I "cant" get a refund even though this I was clearly being held by the staff until they charged me $70 for a membership they knew I didnt want and would never use. Whats better is that their phone line that I tried calling only rings once then hangs up. This place has given me the worst possible customer service they could have given me and I really need my money back (especially now). I really do not appreciate their cruel backwards system that makes money off of people who arent technologically inclined.

Shaw Academy processed multiple unauthorized charges on my credit card
Shaw Academy processed multiple unauthorized charges on my credit card.

Firstly, I was charged $34.95 for a toolkit which I did not want after unknowingly clicking the button while navigating through the webpage. I emailed customer service to resolve this issue however no resolution was provided except offering additional credit on the website, which I do not want and did not want, and even this was not provided.

The email I received from Shaw Academy said "I have activated this for you in your account, so you have 3 additional toolkits, one E-certificate and a hard copy for free now." which was not provided.

After cancelling my subscription over the phone (to the number I was directed to by shawacademy via automated voice direction and confirmation to X-XXX-XXX-XXXX during business hours) and cancelling on the website prior to the day my subscription was meant to run out, I was charged again on april 27, 2020. I paused my membership on April 26th, as I saw no other way to prevent charges from being incurred on my credit card. However, lo and behold, I was charged again on April 27th an additional $69.99 after pausing my membership. I reached out multiple times to shaw support and have gotten no response as to a refund or account cancelltion. However, I do get endless emails about "investing now" into my future etc etc. I am very frustrated and feel as though I have been duped entirely. In total I have been charged $1 + $1 + $1 + $69.99 + $34.95 + $69.99 = $177.93 after signing up for the "free trial"
There is no way for me to cancel my membership, or remove my credit card information.

A refund $177.93 and a cancellation of my account as well as deletion of my credit card information from the shaw academy website.

I want to cancel my subscription but after clicking through what feels like a thousand links they tell you to call a number that doesn't work
They are a scam! The supposedly free subscription try to sell you a lot of packages and worst of all is impossible to cancel when they have your credit card info. DON'T SUBSCRIBE, it is a SCAM. My main complaint is that I cannot cancel my subscription because the website gives you a phone number to call and the phone number is not valid.

One month after finally getting them to cancel my subscription and reimburse me, they charge me again as if I didn't cancel.
I subscribed to their 4 weeks free trial promotion in March 2020. Two days later I noticed that they charged me for the "free trial" period... I contacted them to cancel my subscription and to get reimbursed. After many emails, they finally did reimburse me. They said they would cancel my subscription.
One month past, then I notice on my credit card statement that they charged me for the month of April even though I canceled my subscription with them. I tried to contact them again but now no answer. I contacted my credit card company to see if they could do anything about this, but they said that I need to solve this on my own with Shaw Academy which is impossible with their terrible client service.

I want want a refund and to never be billed again for this service that I canceled.

Any responses you get are automated. Even their phone call service is automated.
I signed up on the 29th of March, with a free 4-week course to try, and my first class was to begin the 31st of March. As of April 26th, I was, without notice, charged for a monthly membership fee of $69.99, when I still would have had 2-3 days prior to opt out of the membership. Attached is the proof of the $69.99 charge, which without notice, was not yet due to process. I also have sent where my initial trial period had begun, on March 29th.

Back on March 31st, there was some confusion in regards to the toolkit option which I discussed on getting that cancelled and refunded to my account. A representative from your team informed me of the non-refund policy attached to these toolkits and explained that to compensate me for the confusion, they would be crediting 2 hard copy diplomas and all access toolkits to the class, totaling to over $500 in credits. (These emails are attached as well.) As I went to set up the diploma prior to testing, I was charged $40 for the diploma, since I had not yet taken the test.

After emailing the company twice in regards to these complaints, they have done nothing but offer the same compensatory package for these transgressions. Calling to speak with customer service or to cancel was also nothing but automated systems, telling you to go through their website which offers no live support.

I am seeking answers and information from an ACTUAL representative in regards to the refunds I have requested. I had to cancel an appointment due to their unexplained charges that debited my account.

Unauthorized charge to my credit card
I enrolled in a four week free trial for which I cancelled in the allotted time. My account is actually inactive but I was still charged $69.99 to my credit card and the account states that it will be charged every four weeks. There is no way of contacting a person and their billing department got back to me saying the following:
Now in terms of your account, we have reviewed your account and found that you had subscribed using your debit/credit card/payment method and availed of a 4-week free trial after which payment would be made. All aspects of this were made clear at registration, within your member's area and via communications. Since you did not cancel during your trial/billing period, payment was processed as per the terms and conditions associated with your membership. I have confirmation of my cancellation within the allowed time frame in an email dated April 17th and I had until the 27th to cancel.

Desired Outcome

I cancelled my membership before my 1 month free trial was up. They have charged me, claiming I never cancelled it.
I signed up for a 1 month free trial of classes at the end of March. I did not have time to attend classes and did not find them educational. I cancelled my membership on April 5th and have emails proving my membership was cancelled. When signing up it states that if you cancel before the 1 month trial is up, you will not be charge. On April 27th, $69.99 was charged to my Paypal account from Shaw Academy. I emailed them immediately asking for a refund because I cancelled my membership well before my trial was up. It took 3 days for them to respond to me after sending several emails. They are stating my membership was never cancelled and are refusing to process my refund. I have emails proving this is not true. I have read several similar complaints about this company at this point. I have attached supporting documents. Please help me get my refund, as I cannot afford to have unauthorized money taken out of my account due to the economy and lack of work from the current pandemic.

I am seeking a refund for $69.99. (I do have documentation proving the money was withdrawn). All I want is my money to be refunded and to never have to deal with this company again. Future customers need to be aware that this company will scam you.

They canceled it

Shaw Academy refuse to refund an unauthorized charge to my account after I had instructed them via email to cancel current & future subscriptions.
I joined the free 4-week course online on 1 April and sent an email to them on even date to cancel the current and future membership. They responded in even date confirming that there's no need for cancellation as I have no membership/ subscription and it appears as 'Inactive' and no amount will be charged to my account. They proceeded to charge an amount of ZAR10 to my account even after confirming that there will be no charge. I sent an email on 3rd April requesting a refund and once again to cancel subscription. I received a response from a person named 'Gomes' and instead of confirming that membership had been cancelled as per my instruction, it was a 'marketing' email only about how they suggest that I complete the free course. Nonetheless, that small amount was refunded and I thought that would be the end of it as I had I instructed in two separate emails that they cancel membership. No further communication were sent to me about membership since only I do about the free online classes that were to start and that I could reschedule. But I was not interested. Fast forward to 29 April 2020 I noticed that an amount of ZAR399 was charged to my account by Shaw Academy. I sent them another email asking what this unauthorized charge was for and for them to refund the amount. I then received an email about their 'Policy' and that I did not cancel my membership before the expiry of the free 4-week online course. It also stated that a refund was not possible and that they have taken the liberty of cancelling my membership on their end. Why take the initiative after charging my account but they could not do same when I instructed them previously to do so on 1 April & then again on 3rd April 2020?? I responded to the email explaining that I had cancelled via email on two occasions and that I'm entitled to my refund. I'm not sure whether they have blocked my email address since because I received absolutely no response from Shaw Academy, not even their usual 'ticket/ID number' after submitting a query via email.

I did instruct Shaw Academy via email to cancel memberships(current and future) and this was not done at that time by Shaw Academy. I am entitled to a full refund as the charge was therefore unauthorized. Why should I be held to account because this 'Gomes' individual did not cancel any further membership or future charges on 3rd April 2020 as instructed. Why was it so easy for Shaw Academy to cancel on my behalf only after the charge had been processed but it was not possible back then to do so. I am entitled to a refund without further delay.

Instead of a cash refund I was offered credit, which was not applied to my account leading to a new charge that is yet to be refunded.
After I accidentally made a "one-click" purchase, of $36 on March 26, I connected Shaw through email and was offered a $199 credit to be added to my account. The email indicated the credit had been applied and I was able to pause my account to limit any more charges. - Ticket number: #XXXXXXX

I also requested my account be cancelled, on March 26, to which I never received a response but the status of the request was set to closed. - Ticket number #XXXXXXX

Now, on April 26, my account was charged $69.99. I did not receive an email to indicate a charge was pending or that I purchased anything. At this point I am under the impression my account was cancelled and if I were to have a charge the credit of $199 should have covered it. - Ticket number #XXXXXXX

Desired Outcome

The last issue is still open with Shaw but I am fed up with their scamming ways and want this issue to be resolved promptly, I am seeking a full refund of $105.99 and my account cancelled. Additionally I would like Shaw Academy to be flagged, their phone lines are closed and they have at least three different emails that will reach out as support making it very confusing and channelling to gain a succinct answer and have refunds processed.
