Unauthorized charge on my credit card as trial was cancelled before the 30 day period. Reached out via email and refusal to refund 69.99.
I signed up for Shaw academy 30 day trial on March 23rd. I havent been active on their platform since that initial date. I cancelled through their convoluted automated system and received email confirmation on April 20th. In the ad and email correspondence states to cancel within 30 days and no charge. Also get a reminder email 3 days before renewal. None of which ShawAcademy is upholding. No resolve through email so far with ticket #XXXXXXX as there is a charge made before trial ended. They offered 6 month free worth 399$ which I declined and demanded refund. It has been 3 days no response.
Desired Outcome
I request a full refund of $69.99 and my payment and account details removed from their system.

"Free" four weeks came with a promo. I signed up for it. But got fired from my job amid Corona and didnt take the class. It renewed. They refuse
I had an offer from Tmobile for a free four week service. I applied for a course, but never logged in for any classes. Due to the Corona Virus situation, I got laid off and have been unemployed. Taking their courses was out of my mind due to focusing on my family's well being. I had internet limitations due to the crisis and anything that had to do with their courses was not anywhere in my radar until I saw that they had charged me. I looked for a way to contact them to ask for a refund and they do not have a direct number. They handle everything through email. I explained on an email the situation and asked for a refund. They responded with their policy and they are happy to have me enrolled on another 4 weeks for their courses. For a company who is attempting to teach classes, they lack the human side by having no options to talk to them and ignore the fact that the crisis has put some of us in a bad situation. We will not be happy to be taking a course from them, specially if we know that they don't really care about their "students " personal situations and their email response shows that lack of sensitivity.
Desired Outcome
Have the option to have a refund, specially if they see that not a single session was taken.
Also to have the option to speak with someone and not just handle through email. The way they handle everything through email seems like those scams where people are constantly taken advantage of their money.

They charged me after I canceled my subscription to their service
I signed up for a free trial to Shaw Academy. A week before the free trial was scheduled to expire, I went to their page to cancel. They made me click through several screens, then told me I had to call a number to cancel. I called the number. They made me listen to a long appeal and I had to say several times I wanted to cancel. (it was a recording, I had to listen and keep hitting 1 to say I still wanted to cancel. it took several minutes of listening to various sales pitches before they told me I had cancelled and would not be charged. A week later, they charged my paypal account, despite my cancellation being verified over the phone.
Desired Outcome
I want them to return the money they took from my paypal account and not charge me again.

Despite of me sending Shaw academy an email stating not to charge ny credit card ending *** They went ahead and charged my card and are now denying me the refund. I dont want to pay them $70.
In these hard covid times, companies like Shaw are only interested in making money and not people values. Very disappointed.

I signed up for a 4-week Free Trial, canceled within the 4-week period but am still being charged for a service I've never used.
On March 20 I signed up for Shaw Academy through a Sponsored Post on Facebook. During the process of signing up I had to enter my debit/credit card information. The text read that if I cancelled within the 4-week trial period I would not be charged. On April 3 I sent an email to ***@shawacademy.com requesting cancellation of my membership. I received an email back confirming the cancellation. On April 20 a charge from SHAW A SHAW AC for $69.99 appeared under my Pending transactions. I called my bank and asked for more information which they advised the transaction was for Shaw Academy. I immediately sent an email back to Billing asking why my bank account was charged when I canceled within the free trail period. I was advised to go over Section 4 & 5 of the company's Terms and Conditions. I did so and no where does it say that I should still be charged. Marcas sent me an email advising they wouldn't refund the $69.99 but is willing to give an alleged $898 in 'free' services. So the company illegally charged my debit card after I cancelled within the free trial period. I've contacted my bank to dispute the charges & if need be a lawyer.
Desired Outcome
I would like the refund of $69.99 back to my bank account and my membership with Shaw Academy to be closed permanently with no further charges.

Shaw Academy has charged me with unauthorized fee and refused to refund my money back and I will not use or recommend this service to anyone.
About a month ago Shaw academy has an offer with T-Mobile Tuesday concerning getting one course for free and I choose to take a diploma of Financial Trading and Investment, so when I redirected to the site and I was asked to give my Bank account details I didn't hesitate, but unfortunately I was so busy to use the service,
On Apr 22th I surprised that I got charged with 69.99 USD as a renewal fees, when I contact them they notified that it wasn't free for the renewal and this is not came with T-Mobile Tuesday offer, I asked them to refund the money back into my account and it was declined, So I think this no acceptable action and this far from customer retention so I wont use this service again also I wont recommend to any one use the service as the reply wasn't professional and make me feel upset.
Desired Outcome
I Want my money back to feel credibility i felt when i gave my financial information.

They said that they were going to charge me for the free trial even though I had cancelled my account prior to the end of the free trial.
I signed up to try a free trial. They had said that you could try it and cancel it if you didn't like it. The classes weren't good at all, and did not meet my expectations. I did not complete any of the courses, I just used it as a trial to try it out and when I realized how awful they were, I didn't use it anymore. So I followed their offering and cancelled within the term. However, they were dishonest and are charging me anyways. They said that they were going to charge me for the free trial even though I had cancelled my account prior to the end of the free trial. Their terms said I had to cancel prior to the charge date (April 20), which I did. I cancelled on April 16 (through an online cancellation page), and they required that I call (X-XXX-XXX-XXXX) to cancel - I did that on April 17. I also have the screenshot showing the online cancellation.
Desired Outcome
I simply want the charge dropped from my credit card.

So far working with Shaw Academy I've made two purchases and have not received anything after I paid for them. (My lifetime membership & My Diploma)
Shaw Academy advertises saves on memberships and other stuff very often. Shaw Academy advertised two things that caught my action that I really wanted, those things being a one time purchase of a Lifetime Membership that grants you access to all courses & modules completely that was being sold for around $49.99 - $59.99 as well as an EQF Level 5 Diploma (Equivalent of Associates Degree) being sold for $49.99.
Both were purchased yet I have received nothing. I tried contacting through Email many times and I have yet to receive any calls or replies back with this being almost a month old situation.
Desired Outcome
I would like to speak with someone from Shaw Academy who can have this problem resolved by either getting me my Diploma in Graphic Design as well as my Lifetime Membership or to have my money refunded. (Honestly, I'd prefer getting the Diploma and membership because I've grown to like Shaw Academy but this needs to be fixed immediately.

Dear Student,
Your refund has been processed as per your request. It will be credited back to your account within 5-7 business days.
I signed up to a free 4 week trial with the Shaw Academy, but when I cancelled within the trial period money was still taken from my account.
On 21 March 2020 I joined the Shaw Academy on a 4 week free trial under the impression that I was able to cancel within this 4 week period if I realised that this platform of learning was not for me.
Before the end of my trial I decided to cancel my membership under the impression that no subscription fee would be taken out. I was surprised to see that £49.95 had been taken out of my paypal account (***@hotmail.com) on the same day I cancelled my membership. This contradicted their own terms and conditions as no money should have been taken out at this point.
I tried to call them to query this but there was only an automated phone service which seemed more tailored to pressuring me to stay and "guilt trip" me into giving up on my goals than providing a customer service.
I then contacted them via email and the person who replied Vaughan was more insistent on getting me to reactivate my account and give me a "free" membership rather than listen to what I was actually telling him. No doubt by reactivating my account I would be giving them licence to take more money out of my account.
Each email correspondence with him seems to be an aggressive sales pitch by him insisting that there is no way that a refund can be issued. I have only now seen that this is common practice for this company and they seem to have done this to a number of other people.
Desired Outcome
I would like the Shaw Academy to honour their terms and conditions and refund me the £49.95 that was taken from my account without my concent.

I have been wrongly charged for an item I do not want And will not use. I want a full refund.
Hi, I am using shaw academy for education purposes. On their website a banner flashed up at the top saying "you have qualified to receive an e-certificate....get here" (there was nothing showing any price) Once I clicked the button (assuming it was a free certificate that I had earned) there was a loading screen and it then said I had purchased the certificate. I immediately checked PayPal and it was right, they had taken money (£39.95).
I couldn't believe there was no pre warning of this and it all happened with one click, not even any confirmation page, I didn't even know how much was charged until I looked at my PayPal account.
They have since informed me that they will not refund me because the certificate is activated on my account, but I would not recieve this certificate until the end of the module is completed, therefore I haven't received anything yet and they should be able to easily refund me and cancel the certificate. I do not want this certificate nor do I want any of the credits they have offered to me. With everything going on in the world with covid-19 I am out of a job with very little money therefore that £39.95 was meant for food and essentials which I can now not purchase and I am struggling. I need a full refund as I am desperate for that money and I didn't even know I was buying anything at the time. I do not want this e-certificate nor have I received it.
Please get back to me as soon as possible as I am very distressed with the current situations and this on top!
Many thanks
Desired Outcome
I am seeking a full refund of £39.95 back into my pay pal account with the same email I am registered to Shaw academy with. ***@hotmail.com

I signed up for a free trial with Shaw Academy. I cancelled it on day number 1, my new lesson in life is to screen shot everything - as I had a confirmation screen that appeared it was cancelled as it said I think something about a couple days left. 2 months later I found out that they charged my paypal 69.99 USD for a service I had never used during the free trial, let alone ever even continued to a paid subscription.
I called and messaged customer service and it seems they are programmed to deny all refunds no matter the case. I have emailed their "Chief People Person" and several executives. By the way their customer services act - I doubt I will get a response let alone a refund.
I started a dispute on paypal but because after cancellation they did not send an email that I cancelled my trial/subscription I cannot prove. The only way to prove is their internal systems and they can see I used it for 0 hours. Why would someone pay 69.99 and use it 0 hours. In a restaurant if a waitress sees you barely touched your food she/he will most likely ask you what was wrong and take it off the bill. This is how 1000's of top companies work.SHAW ACADEMY is not one of these but seem to be greedy and deveptive and unwilling to co-operate.
They even use other bug companies to compare but Netflix and Spotify when they bill your first month and contact their cancellation department will refund you the full 100%
" 4-week free trial on 15 Feb 2020 after which payment would be made. All aspects of this were made clear at registration, within your member's area and via communications. Since you did not cancel during your trial period, payment was processed as per the terms and conditions associated with your membership. Click Here to review the same in particular section 4 and 5.
Our free trial model allows us to bring down the cost of education globally and reach large numbers of students all over the world who want, need and deserve to learn new skills. This free trial model is similar to what the likes of Netflix, Spotify and all other subscription providers offer.
In terms of processing a refund, unfortunately, this is not something we can do as the free trial was made available to you as per the terms and conditions you agreed to upon registration and the revenue has been recognized as per our revenue recognition policies."

rampant in their use of predatory business practices. One touch purchases on iOS and un-negotiable cancelation policies lead to erroneous purchases
First, their practice of one touch purchase leads all iOS users on touchscreen devices to accidentally purchasing one of the numerous pop-up buys that you have to navigate every time you open the app. It may be easier to avoid on a desk top but when your entire screen is touch sensitive the accidental $40 purchases is inevitable and that is no accident. The customer service is laughable and designed to keep you "on the hook" with late response time until it is impossible to cancel your subscription before you are charged. They offer you conciliatory benefits rather than a refund, but in order to receive said benefits you have to wait for someone to apply them to your account and by that time your "free trial" has ended. Even if you sent an email to customer support requesting a phone number and intent to cancel, you are met with more nonsense offers to continue service that are obviously sent from an outsourced script. When you do call to cancel hours before your "free trial" expires, you have to call a number that operates on regular M-F business hours. If you call on a Sunday, which I did, you are out of luck. This place is designed to pray on people. The product is unsatisfactory to begin with and the business model is obviously built on squeezing every cent out of their customers. I wish I would have come to this site first and seen all the complaints against their company. I feel stupid and taken advantage of. Beware.
Desired Outcome
Refund my money. All of it. Your one touch buying is geared towards hurting iOS users, and, as is corroborated by Revdex.com's complaints your cancellation policy is meant to be to difficult to navigate in time

I was offered free module toolkit, but subsequently was charged which the company refused to refund.
I had signed up for free 4 weeks live Nutrition course with the company on April 10th. They had advertised it as a live course with other students and also mentioned receiving a certificate at the end of the course. After the first 2 classes I realized that all the classes were pre-recorded with only other participant an automated robot "Morpheus"; no other students participants. On top of that you had to pay for class notes and class certification. Therefore I decided to cancel my subscription which they wouldn't let me do online (again as advertised) and asked me to call a number with an automated machine. I did so on April 14th at which time I was offered free module 1 toolkit, ecertificate and 30 day trial if I continued, which I accepted. As per the phone call the offer was added to my account, but when I tried to access my toolkit later in the day I was charged 39.95. At no time during the phone call was I informed that it would take time for the module and ecertificate to be added to my account all that was mentioned at the end of the call was that "module toolkit and ecertificate were added to my account".
I contacted the customer service right away and did not get a reply. I contacted you a second time and "Paul" address the issue. He replied that:
"I checked and see you were provided with one module toolkit and e-certificate which will be automatically enabled within 24-48 hours. Meanwhile, you've clicked on it and got charged...Once the Toolkit is activated in your account it is made available to you and we have transferred the content to you hence it cannot be disabled as it was provided therefore, we cannot refund."
Once again I was not informed anywhere over the phone call that it would take time for module toolkit to be available to me. I should not be penalized for the mistake on the part of the company for not updating the system/ failure to inform that it would take 24-48hrs for the toolkit to be available to me. Therefore the module toolkit charge should be refunded back because I only tried to access the toolkit after it was offered to me for free over the phone and assured that it was added to my account.
I tried to contact customer service again with no reply from the company. This has been a frustrating process with no proper customer service support, misleading advertising and false charges. I would like to cancel the subscription and need them to refund the unfairly charged amount on my account as well.

39.95$ refunded to my PayPal account and subscription canceled.

Shaw Academy will not give me a refund even though I canceled my subscription three times via their automatic system.
Shaw academy doesn't have a live person to speak to at this moment. However I called and canceled my subscription with them three times. In the middle of purchasing groceries they took $70 out of my account. I emailed them because a cancellation is a cancellation no matter how it's received. They told me I wouldn't get a refund but offered me 6 months worth of free classes. I don't know if they are clueless to the ways of the world but my family and I need groceries more than I need a class right now as in my state we have a shelter in place unless its for essentials. I never used the service not even one class. This is not good customer service at all. I've attached the screenshot of how the money was taken out of my account while trying to purchase groceries for my household.

Shaw Academy charged my credit card without my authorization and after I attempted to cancel my account multiple times.
I signed up for a 4 week free course with Shaw Academy 4 weeks prior to April 18 (Student Number: XXXXX). I never started the course due to outside factors.
I have been trying to cancel my membership with no success. The hoops they make people jump through to cancel is ridiculous. Anyone should be able to cancel their membership with a click of a button. Instead they make people go through multiple steps where they try to suck people back in. At the end of it all, they didn't even allow me to cancel my membership. After going through multiple steps on my account I am left with a phone number to call and a reference number (XXXXX). When I call the number I am forced to go through multiple steps again of them telling me I don't care about my future. At the end of all the voice recordings I am told that my account has been cancelled. But my reference number was not asked for, so how could my account be cancelled if they didn't know who is calling?
The next day (Apr 18, 2020) they charge my credit card $69.99. I try to cancel my account again with no success.
I then send them an email with my problem. They tell me that they are not able to give me a refund and then offer me a bunch of free stuff so I can continue to be scammed by them. The email also says that "The first thing I have taken the liberty of doing is to confirm your membership is cancelled thus ensuring no further payments". But, they STILL did not cancel my account.
They are not allowing me to cancel my membership so they can steal my money.
By not allowing people to cancel their accounts and then charging their credit cards with no authorization, they are engaging in illegal activity.
Desired Outcome
All I would like is for the unauthorized charge of $69.99 be credited back to my credit card and for my membership with Shaw Academy to be permanently deleted.

Charged my credit card after the membership was cancelled
My experience is just the same as most previous experiences described. I signed up for a "free trial" on March 15th. On March 27th I made my first attempt to cancel. The number provided kept hanging up. I emailed customer service. They sent me back to the phone number. After wasting a lot of time going back and forth with them I finally got an email saying that my membership was cancelled. I attach this email below. It was April 4th. On April 15th my card was charged 59.99. When I emailed their customer service, they said that the email I got was a mistake, it was sent to everybody automatically. I DON'T CARE! Why do I have to waste my time doing all this? I have an email saying that my membership was cancelled. Any charge after that is illegal. T&C says, that I give them permission to charge my card IF I don't cancel the free trial. AND I DID! Shady, shady business.
Desired Outcome
I want a full refund of 59.99 which they took from my account without my consent. And i will make sure this issue does not stay unresolved.

I want them to return the money they took from my paypal account and not charge me again.

Shaw academy charged my credit card despite of me sending them an email to not charge and cancel my subscription. They are not refunding my money
Despite of me sending Shaw academy an email stating not to charge ny credit card ending *** They went ahead and charged my card and are now denying me the refund. I dont want to pay them $70.
In these hard covid times, companies like Shaw are only interested in making money and not people values. Very disappointed.
I need an immediate refund of CAD 70.to my card

I would like the refund of $69.99 back to my bank account and my membership with Shaw Academy to be closed permanently with no further charges.

I sent them an email and responded with a screenshot of my bank account showing the unauthorized transaction. The response I got was the same generic response that they can't refund the $69.99 but are willing to allegedly make a $800 exception for nothing I want.

Hi All,
Shaw Academy has charged me with unauthorized fee and refused to refund my money back and I will not use or recommend this service to anyone.

Many thanks
I am seeking a full refund of £39.95 back into my pay pal account with the same email I am registered to Shaw academy with. ***@hotmail.com

I'm on 4 weeks free trial then received a call from Shaw Academy and told him that I want to cancel but $99 was charged.
I am on 4-weeks free trial and my last day of the trial is this Thursday, 4/23. I received a call from Shaw Academy yesterday 4/20, but I could not understand what the person was saying because of his accent. But I told him that I want to cancel. I checked my bank statement and $99 was charged and withdrew yesterday, 4/20. He ignored my request and charged. I would like a refund.
I want my refund $99.95.

They offered 6 months and 12 month I just want my $69.99 Refund!

rampant in their use of predatory business practices.
Beware.

I would just like a refund as I attempted to cancel not one twice but three times to no avail.

I want a full refund of 59.99 which they took from my account without my consent. And i will make sure this issue does not stay unresolved.
