Unauthorized billing
It was stated on the website that I would receive a billing notification email, few days before the end of the trial period; asking me if I want to pay for membership before the trial period ends, but I never got the email and my card was debited. I would like to ask for a refund as this is very wrong and doesn't tell well of Shaw Academy, and also I would like to cancel further subscriptions.
Desired Outcome
I am seeking a refund of my money and j would also like to cancel further subscriptions.

Received free trial to Shaw Academy, cancelled within the four weeks, was still charged a subscription. Was offered 6 free months, instead of a refund
I received a free trial from my phone carrier to a four week free trial to Shaw Academy. I activated my trial on 3/16/20 at 4:37pm (time I received the confimation email), I cancelled on 4/13/20 morning, on the day the free trial expired. I was charged $29.99 through my Paypal account, on that morning for the subscription before the four week period was over. I immediately reached out to Shaw Academy to resolve this matter. Not to mention during these times when we are being so heavily affected by COVID-19, out of a job, with no income at the moment, this charge puts me in great financial distress. The response from Shaw Academy was negative, stating they would not refund me, but would provide me 6 months free access to their courses. Their response is an aim at guilt tripping you for giving up on your education and your future. On my query unique ID number #XXXXXXX, there was no sales rep disclosed their signature only states "Your Friendly Neighbourhood Shaw Academy Team". After declining the 6 months free access, I have not received any further response.
Desired Outcome
I am simply seeking my refund of $29.99, as I have already cancelled all subscriptions through Paypal, and Shaw Academy. I do not intend to ever again use their services, as they were poor in quality, they are charging for material that is easily accessibly to anyone with internet connection and access to Youtube, content that is free, with instructors that seem to not really understand the content they teach.

need a response. I have tried to call today several times. There are no people answering calls. This was a trial from T-mobile. I cancelled right after and never used it.
The message on the phone at XXX-XXX-XXXX says to email with our concerns. I have sent multiple emails. I want my money refunded. I spoke with someone who called me from your organization. I told her I canceled the subscription. You charged me anyways.
I need a return call asap. I have reported you to my credit card. Below is my phone number. Have a manager call me asap.
March 10th 2020 T-mobile Tuesday and cancelled subscription
March 16th spoke to Shaw rep
April 7th wrote first emails and reported to credit card as fraudulent charge
I have tried removing information and site won't let me.
I have tried calling the number, noone will answer. Says they are not there.
I have tried reporting it as fraud to my bank... But my bank says I have to deal with the company first.
Please help
Desired Outcome
I want a refund and for them to remove my credit card information from their site like they told me they had when the lady called me on the 16th of March and I told her to remove me from the calling list because I had cancelled my subscription.

I was issued a refund on my card.
I was charged by Shaw Academy for a purchase that I never made or requested on their eCertificates.
The 14th of April 2020 I was charged to my account (Account ID) the amount of $39.95 USD to my visa card for the purchase of an eCertificate for the professional diploma in social media marketing Module 1 by the Shaw Academy team. This purchase was not authorised nor requested by me, therefore, I would appreciate if the team could get in contact with me and procede to a full refund of the amount previously charged to me.

Desired Outcome
I would like to receive a full refund of the $39.95 USD that I was charged to my card.

Claim their diploma is OQF level 8 equivalent in Canada. Through research I found that this is in no way true. Company refuses to address issue
Fido offered a 3 month free trial and I ignorantly assumed this meant the company was on the level. They claim the diploma is OQF level 8 in Canada which it is not and all queries as to where there accreditation came from go ignored. On my member page it offered an e certificate and a course toolkit for 34.95 each. I clicked to see what that detailed and it purchased it with no confirmation. I'm then told no refunds can be issued. I have taken the issue up with the bank who have filed a claim and am in the process of making Rogers/Fido aware. I'm quite certain false claims of accreditation are fraudulent or at least hope they would be.
Desired Outcome
Refund in full as my purchase was accidental and this school makes false accreditation claims which I'm quite sure is fraudulent.

Cancelled my membership 2 hours after registering for their free trial. After cancelling they up me to a premium membership instead of cancelling
I applied for a free trial with Shaw Academy on 6th April 2020 for a four week Digital Marketing Course. I then decided that I did not want to continue with the course and attempted to call the company to cancel my subscription. I phoned and after multiple voice automations I finally cancelled and received email confirmation of my cancellation. However today I received a call saging I missed a class - so I go onto the account to check why this would be - since I had already cancelled 2 weeks ago. Then to my shock I see they loaded me as a premium member and I will be charged 388 south african rand?! I tried to cancel again asking about this and got the same automated email. I've tried emailing and their social platforms, in fact, they deleted my comment in their social platforms where I asked about the above in question and why im yet to receive any form of feedback. They are quick to respond on other mails, I have tested this - but where I question them I have no response - they just ignore me. If I dint get feedback I will be unlawfully billed and I cant get this account cancelled, im having nit Luck on feedback its just all automated.
Desired Outcome
I want this matter resolved, the account cancelled and no charges since i had never agreed to them and signed up for a free trial, cancelled 2 hours later and never wanted the membership they now have me listed for and will be taking of my credit card. I want proof there will be no charges and they will stop my membership as i had requested multiple times by now, with no feedback.

After canceling my subscription I kept getting emails and even saw charges on my credit card.
My first mistake was signing up for the trial in the first place. I impulsively signed up for it not even thinking about the fact that I was giving some random company my credit card information. This being said, I practically canceled everything right away because I quickly realized my mistake. I thought everything was settled, but I kept getting bombarded with emails and even saw charges on my credit card. It kept showing that I was charged for .50 cents, but then it was immediately put back onto my account. I'm not sure what's happening there, but I'd rather just be completely taken off the roster so that they can't take money off of my account. I don't them stealing my money! Especially after I already canceled the subscription!
Desired Outcome
I want to cut off all connections to the company. By this I mean stop all charges to my credit card and stop sending me emails because it's all just really annoying.

I did not received the cancellation confirmation email and I want to remove my credit card details from their website.
I try to cancel my membership plan through the websit but it is told me to call to some number for cancellation. The cancellation process cannot be completed by the website. So I have called to cancel the subscription plan and their automatic system told me that the cancellation process is completed and there will be the email to confirm my cancellation. Unfortunately, I have not get any email yet. And my account is still active on thier website. I want to deactivate my account to remove my credit card details but there is no button to deactivate it. It is the non-ethical way to do business like this. The registration is too easy but the cancellation process is too hard and there also some tricky way to charge my card even I try to cancel my membership. I haven't join any class yet. And I want to cancel my membership program, deactivate ans remove my account and my credit card detail.
Desired Outcome
Confirm my cancellation by sending an email. Deactivate and remove my account and credit card details

Subscribed for 1 month free trial, online education. Never even tried product. Want to cancel. Instead of cancellation email received welcome back.
made attempt to cancel on 13-Apr-2020
when I tried canceling online got cancellation reference number XXXXX and instruction to call +X XXX XXX XXXX in order to cancel
Company made it ridiculously hard to cancel their free trial.
Never even tried their online product. Changed my mind to go to local online school.
For cancellation they made me go through very harassing auto bot message system, where they kept offering their product several times despite my firm intent to cancel. there was no option to cancel online directly. At the end of the auto message hustle I was informed that I will be receiving a cancellation email.
Instead of the expected cancellation email, I received an email with the subject line "Well done for getting back on track!".
Got pretty angry and upset!
Desired Outcome
My goal is to report the practices of this company as unethical, and to avoid being billed. I want it confirmed that my subscription is CANCELED and in no way i want to be contacted again, past this point by that company

As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.
I have been charged for services that were advertised as free for 4 weeks through my tmobile tuesday account. Free trial ends May 5 2020.
I was charged on April 12th the first date that I started the first class although I was told that the charge wasn't going to be until May 5th 2020 if I decided to keep classes online with this company however it charge me immediately for the class. I spoke with customer service via email and they are advising me that they cannot give a refund as refund is not available. This is unacceptable because we're still an April not May and I haven't even had the chance to use the four-week course and I do not wish to participate with this company at all. Zelle customer service are only offering a free course with them to satisfy them taking my money in advance however I don't want any courses and I don't want any classes with them I want a refund. I want my money. I never authorized for a service for a diploma when I carry a bachelor's degree that I didn't even have to pay for my military GI Bill cover that. Shaw Academy is stealing money and not willing to give back it is false advertisement and if you're not careful you won't even notice that they have charged you because it doesn't say the same day it states 30 day free trial in which I have documents to support that this was not a willingly paid and or authorized purchase this was stolen from my account. I wanted to take advantage of the free course ONLY.
Desired Outcome
I want a full refund of my 39.95 immediately its pandemic. I have not used any of the services at all. I signed in to one class and was charged immediately after.

Dear Student,

I signed up for a free trial with Shaw Academy. I cancelled my account within days, was assured I wouldn't be charged. They charged me 69.99 today.
I signed up for a free trial with Shaw academy. After only two days, they repeatedly sent me texts, phones calls and email and I was not even able to access the free course I was supposed to have access to. Within a week, I tried to contact them to cancel my account. On the website I could not cancel my account, when I clicked the link it just sent me to a phone number. When I called the number the first time it rang and then connected and hung up on me. The second time I tried to call, I got through to a representative. I told them I wanted to cancel my account. They offered me more free weeks and I told them I did not want that and that I wanted to cancel my account completely. They assured me my account was cancelled and that my card would not be charged. Today, April 13th, I looked at my account and they charged me 69.99. I looked everywhere for the number to call to cancel and there is no number to talk to a person anywhere. I emailed them to contact me immediately and received a robo reply and have not been able to speak to anyone. Attached is an image of my account with the charge on it.
Desired Outcome
I would like the 69.99 refunded into my account and my account cancelled appropriately as I was promised and my card removed from their system.

Dear student,
As per your request, we have processed your refund.
Shaw Academy wrongly charged me for a "tool kit" that I did not consent to purchasing.
I recently signed up for Shaw Academy's FREE 4 week trial offered through a promotion on T-Mobile Tuesday's. I have been taking the courses and modules for the pas two weeks and what I noticed is that this company tried to force other purchases down your throat. I have been temporarily laid off due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and was using this time as an opportunity to sharpen my skills. What this company SNEAKILY DID is put a "buy module tool kit" button in the course home page RIGHT next to the "join class" button. Again, I have been taking this course for 2 weeks so I know what button to press, the "join class" button is a big red button, you can't miss it. There was obviously a glitch because when I tried to click the "join class" button the page starts saying "payment processing". Payment processing for clicking on join class? Keep in mind there was no prompt or anything such as an "are you sure you wish to purchase" there wasn't even a cancel button to stop the purchase from processing. This is ridiculous, if I wanted to purchase a $40 tool kit, I wouldn't have signed up for a free trial. Keep in mind I also have not opened this tool kit and refuse to continue my courses until this is resolved. I tried contacting them and they refused a refund although I explained that I did not consent to this purchase. It also says no where on that specific course home page that the module tool kits are a one click purchase, something that SHOULD be made visible at all times. I just west my $40 back, I don't have any money Ming in and I'm feeling extremely scammed right now. In the photo provided you can see how close the buttons are together.
Desired Outcome
All I want is my $40 back. I have no income as of now due to being temporarily laid off from my job. Things have already been stressful enough already and it's disheartening to feel scammed as I was trying to do something to remain sane during this quarantine we are under.

Billed despite cancellation and now refusing to refund and saying I did not cancel in time when I did
I signed up for the Shaw Academy 4 week free trial on the 4th March 202 and cancelled on the 27th (23 days later). I requested confirmation of the cancellation, which I received and checked the terms and conditions which explicitly state that in order not to be charged you need to cancel within 28 days (which I did). This week I was charged the monthly fee of $69.99 AUD which should never have been taken. I contacted Shaw Academy and received an obviously generic answer saying that I did not cancel in time (which I did) and that I had provided my card details (which was required on sign up) and that I couldn't get refunded. Instead they offered me discounted study for 6 months. I replied with the screenshot of my cancellation email and spelt out that I had adhered to the terms and conditions and should not have been charged and that I wanted a refund. They did not even read my email but sent me a generic reply saying that as I did not cancel within 28 days and provided card details they could not refund but they offered me 12 months discounted study. I have again replied.... they are obviously scamming people who sign up thinking they are doing a free trial and then lying to those who cancel. It is appalling and utterly criminal
Desired Outcome
I wish to receive my refund of $69.99 AUD and for this to not be done to me again

We're sorry to know of your less than satisfactory experience with Shaw Academy. But we would like to address your reference to the word "bait and switch", as this is something that we take incredibly seriously. We have at no point taken payments from you, or any of the 5 million students we have educated unless the student entered their payment details to a secure payment page and manually completed the transaction. In every one of our emails, landing pages, offer banners and indeed the payment page itself, we do outline that the offer presented to you was a one-month free trial which would run automatically into a monthly recurring payment if not cancelled.
We give the highest priority to the quality of education and support to our students. We have also processed your refund as per our refund policy.

I'm fine with the resolution that they refunded my money. But I'm not fine with the fact that they advertised a 30 day trial and on day 1 they charged my credit card. I didn't even get to day 1 of a 30 day trial. That is why it's bait and switch. You sign up for 30 day trial and then they charge you. 30 day trial means you charge me on day 31, not day 1!!!!!

Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription.
I am out $50 because of a one-click purchase feature on their site. When loading the site had issues, I clicked on accident . They won't refund.
On March 26, I logged on to the free trial of a class through Shaw Academy. As I was going to click on the course page, my web page on my phone reloaded causing it it jump up. Instead of clicking on the course, I accidentally clicked on a one-click purchase button for the "course toolkit" which I never intended to buy. I emailed the customer service contact immediately and asked them to cancel the order and refund my money. I then chose not to log on to the class until they responded. I never opened the product, however, they said they could not refund my money because they had already made it available for download. I emailed them back and filed a case with my credit card company. Today (April 13) I went to cancel my trial membership and the same thing happened again, where I accidentally purchased an "e-certificate" for a course I haven't even taken and had no intention to take. This manner of business, and putting a one click purchase button on the main page is a shady business practice. The items I accidentally purchases have absolutely no value to me, and now I'm out of $50 when money is already stretched thin due to COVID-19. I am very unhappy with this situation.
Desired Outcome
I would like a full refund for items accidentally purchased and then I would like the company to stop contacting me offering me more stuff I don't want.

Re: Shaw Academy Re: Refund
Your company broke the terms and conditions! Attached is a copy of your company's terms and conditions since apparently you are not aware of them. Your terms and conditions state, "We will bill any Payment Method provided by You for your monthly membership fee at the end of the free trial period unless you cancel your membership prior to the end of the free trial period. To view the monthly membership end date of your free trial period, visit our website, log into your student account and we will tell you how long you have left in your My Courses page." I never used the program! I created an account, logged in, decided this was not for me and tried to cancel my account several times via phone and email before my free trial had ended. I followed your terms, "We will bill any Payment Method provided by You for your monthly membership fee at the end of the free trial period UNLESS YOU CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP PRIOR TO THE END OF THE FREE TRIAL PERIOD." I called twice with no assistance in cancelling my account only options to add to it which I definitely DID NOT WANT. Since calling your company did nothing I emailed your company. Attached is an email I sent to your company on March 30th 2020 requesting cancellation, I immediately received an ID number email and told I would have a support staff in touch with me. I NEVER was put in touch with support staff. The email from your company said you would work with me promptly, you did not. I then called your company 3 more times without having the option to cancel. The next email I received was on the 8th of April confirming cancellation, hallelujah!!!!!! Then this *** shoot battle began!!!! Your company pulled $59.99 from my account unauthorized. I had tried numerous times to cancel my account. The real reason you refuse payment is because you work for a worthless, stealing, dishonest and vile company that refuses to work with its customers. You refuse to be wrong even though you broke your own contract. ***

Refund
I had $59.99 withdrawn from my PayPal account this morning and you stole that money from me!!!! I did not authorize you to pull that money!!!! I have tried several times to cancel my account with you and you kept extending it with free trials. I first received an email notifying me my free trial subscription had been cancelled this morning, praise the Lord!!!! Then a minute after receiving that email I was notified by PayPal that you had pulled the $59.99. Please refund that money promptly or I will seek legal action against you.
Desired Outcome
I just want my $59.99 refunded.
Shaw Academy Response

Dear student,
We could find that the refund was processed and the issue is resolved.

Dear Student,
We are informed by the support team that the issue has been resolved.
Thank you

I cancelled my subscription. It was only supposed to be a 4 week excel course through t-mobile Tuesdays. Cannot remove my credit card from their site
need a response.
Please help
I want a refund and for them to remove my credit card information from their site like they told me they had when the lady called me on the 16th of March and I told her to remove me from the calling list because I had cancelled my subscription.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.

INVOICE NUMBER: XXXXXX
ID NUMBER: XXXXXXX.
I would like to receive a full refund of the $39.95 USD that I was charged to my card.
Dear Student,
Our support team has informed that your refund has been processed as per your request
Thank you
Claim their diploma is OQF level 8 equivalent in Canada.

Dear Student,
As per your request we had cancelled your subscription on 14-Apr-XXXX XX:XX

I want to cut off all connections to the company. By this I mean stop all charges to my credit card and stop sending me emails because it's all just really annoying.
Hi ***,
Having checked your account, we see that your membership has been already cancelled.
We have removed your email Id and phone number from our notification list. Going forward, you will no longer receive any promotional emails or SMSs from us.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
Confirm my cancellation by sending an email. Deactivate and remove my account and credit card details
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription.
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
My goal is to report the practices of this company as unethical, and to avoid being billed. I want it confirmed that my subscription is CANCELED and in no way i want to be contacted again, past this point by that company
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.
I want a full refund of my 39.95 immediately its pandemic. I have not used any of the services at all. I signed in to one class and was charged immediately after.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. We have also processed your refund.
I would like the 69.99 refunded into my account and my account cancelled appropriately as I was promised and my card removed from their system.

I signed up for a free 4 week class and tried to cancel before the ending several times. I was then charged $59.99.
I have tried contacting Shaw Academy several times wanting to discuss my case but they have not returned any communication. I was charged for a free class that I didn't even complete due to poor teaching (my opinion). But I was charged for a free class nonetheless.
I simply just want my refund and my membership canceled.
Dear student,
As per your request, we have processed your refund.
Thank you
Shaw Academy wrongly charged me for a "tool kit" that I did not consent to purchasing.
All I want is my $40 back. I have no income as of now due to being temporarily laid off from my job. Things have already been stressful enough already and it's disheartening to feel scammed as I was trying to do something to remain sane during this quarantine we are under.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription on 22-Apr-2020 05:38

After registering for the Social Media Program I was charged for a course module that I didn't need/use. I tried to reach out but no response received
After browsing through the website I mistakenly clicked a link for more information. Before I had the chance to cancel my selection I was charged $34.99 for a module that I didn't want or need. I tried contacting Shaw Academy but little recourse was provided for me. After the initial response to my query, they stopped responding to me.
I would like this charge to refunded or moved to the course certificate payment.
After receiving contact from the Shaw Academy support team, their representative helped me to rectify this unintentional payment.
I signed up for a free trial. Whilst going to click onto my lesson I was charged for a £40 toolkit without my authorisation. Refused refund.
Purchase and problem date-11 April 2020-13 April 2020
Purchase: Module tool kit
Payment method: PayPal/ MasterCard
I emailed asking explaining my situation and asked for a refund. It was refused and I was instead offered extra resources when I have no intentions of continuing with the services
Complaint number:XXXXXXX
I would like a full refund

I wish to receive my refund of $69.99 AUD and for this to not be done to me again
Dear student,
we could find that your refund has been processed.
Thank you
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Despite the fact that they said they had refunded me (and that it would be received within 7 business days) I have not received my money back. I was told on the 17th April that I would be refunded and it has now been 10 business days.
Dear student,
Thank you for bringing this to our notice. We have informed our support team about this issue. We will check whether there was any settlement issue.
We appreciate your cooperation and patience.
I signed up for the 30 day free class and the next day got hit with a $35 charge via my paypal. They won't refund it my money. Bait and switch.
I signed up for the 30 day free class last week and the next day they charge $35 charge to my paypal. They won't refund it, they keep sending me emails trying to get meto buy into $599 program with months of free stuff and free this and some other bait and switch propaganda. I just want my $35 back and to let others know to not buy from this company.
I want my credit card refunded please
Dear student,
we could find that your refund has been processed from our end.
thank you
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I don't feel this company is operating ethical and truthful. They tell you you get a free 30 day trial and the next day your credit card is charged. It's bait and switch and other consumers need to know.
Thank you
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I signed up for the free trial, but I no longer need the course. I request for my account to be canceled. My Shaw Academy student # is XXXXX.
I haven't used the course I signed up for; I no longer need it and I no longer am interested in having an account with Shaw Academy.
I am 1 week into the free trial for a course I haven't used. I tried to remove the payment details myself before attempting to cancel the subscription and was not able to.
Then, I have made several attempts to contact the team to request for my account to be canceled with no avail. I only received the same automatic message each time.
Please remove my payment information, any personal related details, and remove me from the email list after canceling/deactivating my account.
My student number is XXXXX.
Thanks

I would like a full refund for items accidentally purchased and then I would like the company to stop contacting me offering me more stuff I don't want.

I just want my $59.99 refunded.
Dear student,
We could find that the refund was processed and the issue is resolved.
Thank you
