I cancelled my subscription. It was only supposed to be a 4 week excel course through t-mobile Tuesdays. Cannot remove my credit card from their site
need a response. I have tried to call today several times. There are no people answering calls. This was a trial from T-mobile. I cancelled right after and never used it.

The message on the phone at XXX-XXX-XXXX says to email with our concerns. I have sent multiple emails. I want my money refunded. I spoke with someone who called me from your organization. I told her I canceled the subscription. You charged me anyways.

I need a return call asap. I have reported you to my credit card. Below is my phone number. Have a manager call me asap.

March 10th 2020 T-mobile Tuesday and cancelled subscription
March 16th spoke to Shaw rep
April 7th wrote first emails and reported to credit card as fraudulent charge

I have tried removing information and site won't let me.

I have tried calling the number, noone will answer. Says they are not there.

I have tried reporting it as fraud to my bank... But my bank says I have to deal with the company first.

Please help

Desired Outcome

I want a refund and for them to remove my credit card information from their site like they told me they had when the lady called me on the 16th of March and I told her to remove me from the calling list because I had cancelled my subscription.

I was issued a refund on my card.

Received free trial to Shaw Academy, cancelled within the four weeks, was still charged a subscription. Was offered 6 free months, instead of a refund
I received a free trial from my phone carrier to a four week free trial to Shaw Academy. I activated my trial on 3/16/20 at 4:37pm (time I received the confimation email), I cancelled on 4/13/20 morning, on the day the free trial expired. I was charged $29.99 through my Paypal account, on that morning for the subscription before the four week period was over. I immediately reached out to Shaw Academy to resolve this matter. Not to mention during these times when we are being so heavily affected by COVID-19, out of a job, with no income at the moment, this charge puts me in great financial distress. The response from Shaw Academy was negative, stating they would not refund me, but would provide me 6 months free access to their courses. Their response is an aim at guilt tripping you for giving up on your education and your future. On my query unique ID number #XXXXXXX, there was no sales rep disclosed their signature only states "Your Friendly Neighbourhood Shaw Academy Team". After declining the 6 months free access, I have not received any further response.

Desired Outcome

I am simply seeking my refund of $29.99, as I have already cancelled all subscriptions through Paypal, and Shaw Academy. I do not intend to ever again use their services, as they were poor in quality, they are charging for material that is easily accessibly to anyone with internet connection and access to Youtube, content that is free, with instructors that seem to not really understand the content they teach.

Unauthorized billing
It was stated on the website that I would receive a billing notification email, few days before the end of the trial period; asking me if I want to pay for membership before the trial period ends, but I never got the email and my card was debited. I would like to ask for a refund as this is very wrong and doesn't tell well of Shaw Academy, and also I would like to cancel further subscriptions.

Desired Outcome

I am seeking a refund of my money and j would also like to cancel further subscriptions.

Shaw Academy advertises a free 4 week program but they charge your credit card as soon as you sign up
Shaw academy advertises a 4 week FREE program. It requests a credit card and says you can cancel at any time and will ONLY charge your credit card if you decide to continue after the free period. They charged my credit card immediately. I emailed them to contact within minutes of signing up for this FREE program.
April 10,2020 I paid with my mastercard. They would not refund me but could offer me $900 worth of lessons. This is what they sent to me after countless emails.

I have reviewed your email and this matter further however, unfortunately there is no way at all a refund can be processed for you. Unfortunately, the issue remains that the terms and conditions were made readily available, you have accepted them and actually inserted payment details for a free trial/subscription service which had subsequent payments related to it, hence the request for your card which you duly provided and the making available of our terms and conditions furthermore we made available the content for which the payment was made. We cannot offer a refund in these circumstances.

I want to help you. During our last exchange I had taken the action of ensuring your account was canceled which it is and had offered a solution whereby we would provide 6-month access worth an awful lot of money free of charge as I just want to help.

I have tried to come up with something further and the very best I can possibly do is to increase that to 12-months access worth $699 totally free of charge plus one complete course toolkit and e-certificates worth $199.

I went in thinking this was free and unfortunately when I go online I see that this company has an ongoing reputation of this bad behavior. Are you able to help me get my refund of $69.99?

Desired Outcome

I am seeking to have my $69.99 refunded.

I had contacted the company minutes after I had signed up for a free class that was advertised on facebook. It stated that you would not be charged unless you decided to continue with class after 4 weeks. I had the notification on my mastercard that there was an international charge on my card and this is how I knew right away. I had spent the week back and forth with a representative. I have not logged onto any of their courses . He kept telling me that he couldn't refund me but could offer hundreds of dollars of free additional support. This is only one of the emails that he sent to me followed by one where he urges me to sign in.

I look forward to hearing of your future successes.

Kind regards,
Patrick I am disappointed with the fact that they lure people in during this time of crisis. We are at home looking for things to do and have lost our jobs. When I googled more about the company I can see that there are tons of complaints regarding this. I just want a refund and to be done with this company.

I was pleased to see that the refund will happen in 5-7 days but will obviously have to wait to see if this will happen. Then half an hour after receiving this email from the Revdex.com, the company Shaw charged my credit card with another 69.99.
This should be considered fraud because they should no longer be using my credit card number. I am on hold with the credit card company to see what my options are at this point and whether I have to get my credit card replaced. Can I leave this open for now until the problem is resolved.

I was charged by Shaw, even though I specifically remember not finishing signing up, and they won't cancel my "subscription" or issued me a refund.
Around the end of April, I started to sign up for the free trial Shaw offers and I specifically remember not finishing because I was on the fence about it. A couple of days after, I get a voicemail from a CA number saying I didn't finish registration and that they would send me an email offering me to sign up for their classes, no mention of actually who sent the vm (no company name or even the callers name). Fast forward to a month later (still with no emails from Shaw, which I was fine with because I knew I didn't finish signing up), I know have a charge on my bank account from them (I didn't even remember who Shaw was, I had to look it up) for $59.99. So I emailed them and I got an automated email (just like the ones I see them sending to ppl here after they complain) stating that I used my debit card to sign up and so they have the right to charge me after my free trial ( which I never received or even signed up for) and that's their policy and they can't issue a refund. It also talks about emails I should've received, which I have ZERO from them. Not even a confirmation email that says I signed up and that I need to register for classes. So I contacted them again and so far, I've gotten the same email back 3 times. They won't even cancel my subscription, they just keep offering me other deals. I tried calling the number back that I got the VM from and it doesn't connect to anyone so can't even talk to someone on the phone. There's not even a number on the website! Even though I put my debit card info in, I never finished signing up for the free trial or clicked anything that said "register" or "finish registration," so it seems very unlawful that I was charged. It even says in the voicemail I received (which I'm most certain it's from Shaw even though they don't mention it) that I didn't finish registration. And again, I have no emails from them stating that I had even signed up or was in a trial period. I need a refund And for them to cancel my subscription (which they act like they will not do). I will not pay for services I didn't want in the first place and therefore never used.

Desired Outcome

I want a complete refund for the first paid month and for them cancel anything I have with them.

I signed up for a free trial with Shaw Academy. I cancelled my account within days, was assured I wouldn't be charged. They charged me 69.99 today.
I signed up for a free trial with Shaw academy. After only two days, they repeatedly sent me texts, phones calls and email and I was not even able to access the free course I was supposed to have access to. Within a week, I tried to contact them to cancel my account. On the website I could not cancel my account, when I clicked the link it just sent me to a phone number. When I called the number the first time it rang and then connected and hung up on me. The second time I tried to call, I got through to a representative. I told them I wanted to cancel my account. They offered me more free weeks and I told them I did not want that and that I wanted to cancel my account completely. They assured me my account was cancelled and that my card would not be charged. Today, April 13th, I looked at my account and they charged me 69.99. I looked everywhere for the number to call to cancel and there is no number to talk to a person anywhere. I emailed them to contact me immediately and received a robo reply and have not been able to speak to anyone. Attached is an image of my account with the charge on it.

Desired Outcome

I would like the 69.99 refunded into my account and my account cancelled appropriately as I was promised and my card removed from their system.

I have been charged for services that were advertised as free for 4 weeks through my tmobile tuesday account. Free trial ends May 5 2020.
I was charged on April 12th the first date that I started the first class although I was told that the charge wasn't going to be until May 5th 2020 if I decided to keep classes online with this company however it charge me immediately for the class. I spoke with customer service via email and they are advising me that they cannot give a refund as refund is not available. This is unacceptable because we're still an April not May and I haven't even had the chance to use the four-week course and I do not wish to participate with this company at all. Zelle customer service are only offering a free course with them to satisfy them taking my money in advance however I don't want any courses and I don't want any classes with them I want a refund. I want my money. I never authorized for a service for a diploma when I carry a bachelor's degree that I didn't even have to pay for my military GI Bill cover that. Shaw Academy is stealing money and not willing to give back it is false advertisement and if you're not careful you won't even notice that they have charged you because it doesn't say the same day it states 30 day free trial in which I have documents to support that this was not a willingly paid and or authorized purchase this was stolen from my account. I wanted to take advantage of the free course ONLY.

Desired Outcome

I want a full refund of my 39.95 immediately its pandemic. I have not used any of the services at all. I signed in to one class and was charged immediately after.

Shaw Academy Response • Apr 25, 2020

Dear Student,

As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. We have also processed your refund.

Subscribed for 1 month free trial, online education. Never even tried product. Want to cancel. Instead of cancellation email received welcome back.
made attempt to cancel on 13-Apr-2020
when I tried canceling online got cancellation reference number XXXXX and instruction to call +X XXX XXX XXXX in order to cancel

Company made it ridiculously hard to cancel their free trial.
Never even tried their online product. Changed my mind to go to local online school.
For cancellation they made me go through very harassing auto bot message system, where they kept offering their product several times despite my firm intent to cancel. there was no option to cancel online directly. At the end of the auto message hustle I was informed that I will be receiving a cancellation email.

Instead of the expected cancellation email, I received an email with the subject line "Well done for getting back on track!".

Got pretty angry and upset!

Desired Outcome

My goal is to report the practices of this company as unethical, and to avoid being billed. I want it confirmed that my subscription is CANCELED and in no way i want to be contacted again, past this point by that company

Shaw Academy Response • Apr 25, 2020

Dear Student,

As per your request we have cancelled your subscription. Please be assured that you will not be charged way forward.

I did not received the cancellation confirmation email and I want to remove my credit card details from their website.
I try to cancel my membership plan through the websit but it is told me to call to some number for cancellation. The cancellation process cannot be completed by the website. So I have called to cancel the subscription plan and their automatic system told me that the cancellation process is completed and there will be the email to confirm my cancellation. Unfortunately, I have not get any email yet. And my account is still active on thier website. I want to deactivate my account to remove my credit card details but there is no button to deactivate it. It is the non-ethical way to do business like this. The registration is too easy but the cancellation process is too hard and there also some tricky way to charge my card even I try to cancel my membership. I haven't join any class yet. And I want to cancel my membership program, deactivate ans remove my account and my credit card detail.

Desired Outcome

Confirm my cancellation by sending an email. Deactivate and remove my account and credit card details

After canceling my subscription I kept getting emails and even saw charges on my credit card.
My first mistake was signing up for the trial in the first place. I impulsively signed up for it not even thinking about the fact that I was giving some random company my credit card information. This being said, I practically canceled everything right away because I quickly realized my mistake. I thought everything was settled, but I kept getting bombarded with emails and even saw charges on my credit card. It kept showing that I was charged for .50 cents, but then it was immediately put back onto my account. I'm not sure what's happening there, but I'd rather just be completely taken off the roster so that they can't take money off of my account. I don't them stealing my money! Especially after I already canceled the subscription!

Desired Outcome

I want to cut off all connections to the company. By this I mean stop all charges to my credit card and stop sending me emails because it's all just really annoying.

Shaw Academy Response • Apr 25, 2020

Cancelled my membership 2 hours after registering for their free trial. After cancelling they up me to a premium membership instead of cancelling
I applied for a free trial with Shaw Academy on 6th April 2020 for a four week Digital Marketing Course. I then decided that I did not want to continue with the course and attempted to call the company to cancel my subscription. I phoned and after multiple voice automations I finally cancelled and received email confirmation of my cancellation. However today I received a call saging I missed a class - so I go onto the account to check why this would be - since I had already cancelled 2 weeks ago. Then to my shock I see they loaded me as a premium member and I will be charged 388 south african rand?! I tried to cancel again asking about this and got the same automated email. I've tried emailing and their social platforms, in fact, they deleted my comment in their social platforms where I asked about the above in question and why im yet to receive any form of feedback. They are quick to respond on other mails, I have tested this - but where I question them I have no response - they just ignore me. If I dint get feedback I will be unlawfully billed and I cant get this account cancelled, im having nit Luck on feedback its just all automated.

Desired Outcome

I want this matter resolved, the account cancelled and no charges since i had never agreed to them and signed up for a free trial, cancelled 2 hours later and never wanted the membership they now have me listed for and will be taking of my credit card. I want proof there will be no charges and they will stop my membership as i had requested multiple times by now, with no feedback.

They won't refund it, they keep sending me emails trying to get meto buy into $599 program with months of free stuff and free this and some other bait and switch propaganda. I don't feel this company is operating ethical and truthful. They tell you you get a free 30 day trial and the next day your credit card is charged. It's bait and switch and other consumers need to know.

Shaw Academy Response • Apr 28, 2020

We're sorry to know of your less than satisfactory experience with Shaw Academy. But we would like to address your reference to the word "bait and switch", as this is something that we take incredibly seriously. We have at no point taken payments from you, or any of the 5 million students we have educated unless the student entered their payment details to a secure payment page and manually completed the transaction. In every one of our emails, landing pages, offer banners and indeed the payment page itself, we do outline that the offer presented to you was a one-month free trial which would run automatically into a monthly recurring payment if not cancelled.

We give the highest priority to the quality of education and support to our students. We have also processed your refund as per our refund policy.

Thank you

Customer Response • Apr 28, 2020

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I'm fine with the resolution that they refunded my money. But I'm not fine with the fact that they advertised a 30 day trial and on day 1 they charged my credit card. I didn't even get to day 1 of a 30 day trial. That is why it's bait and switch. You sign up for 30 day trial and then they charge you. 30 day trial means you charge me on day 31, not day 1!!!!!

Billed despite cancellation and now refusing to refund and saying I did not cancel in time when I did
I signed up for the Shaw Academy 4 week free trial on the 4th March 202 and cancelled on the 27th (23 days later). I requested confirmation of the cancellation, which I received and checked the terms and conditions which explicitly state that in order not to be charged you need to cancel within 28 days (which I did). This week I was charged the monthly fee of $69.99 AUD which should never have been taken. I contacted Shaw Academy and received an obviously generic answer saying that I did not cancel in time (which I did) and that I had provided my card details (which was required on sign up) and that I couldn't get refunded. Instead they offered me discounted study for 6 months. I replied with the screenshot of my cancellation email and spelt out that I had adhered to the terms and conditions and should not have been charged and that I wanted a refund. They did not even read my email but sent me a generic reply saying that as I did not cancel within 28 days and provided card details they could not refund but they offered me 12 months discounted study. I have again replied.... they are obviously scamming people who sign up thinking they are doing a free trial and then lying to those who cancel. It is appalling and utterly criminal

Desired Outcome

I wish to receive my refund of $69.99 AUD and for this to not be done to me again

Despite the fact that they said they had refunded me (and that it would be received within 7 business days) I have not received my money back. I was told on the 17th April that I would be refunded and it has now been 10 business days.

Shaw Academy Response • May 05, 2020

Dear student,

Thank you for bringing this to our notice. We have informed our support team about this issue. We will check whether there was any settlement issue.

We appreciate your cooperation and patience.

Shaw Academy wrongly charged me for a "tool kit" that I did not consent to purchasing.
I recently signed up for Shaw Academy's FREE 4 week trial offered through a promotion on T-Mobile Tuesday's. I have been taking the courses and modules for the pas two weeks and what I noticed is that this company tried to force other purchases down your throat. I have been temporarily laid off due to the Covid-19 pandemic, and was using this time as an opportunity to sharpen my skills. What this company SNEAKILY DID is put a "buy module tool kit" button in the course home page RIGHT next to the "join class" button. Again, I have been taking this course for 2 weeks so I know what button to press, the "join class" button is a big red button, you can't miss it. There was obviously a glitch because when I tried to click the "join class" button the page starts saying "payment processing". Payment processing for clicking on join class? Keep in mind there was no prompt or anything such as an "are you sure you wish to purchase" there wasn't even a cancel button to stop the purchase from processing. This is ridiculous, if I wanted to purchase a $40 tool kit, I wouldn't have signed up for a free trial. Keep in mind I also have not opened this tool kit and refuse to continue my courses until this is resolved. I tried contacting them and they refused a refund although I explained that I did not consent to this purchase. It also says no where on that specific course home page that the module tool kits are a one click purchase, something that SHOULD be made visible at all times. I just west my $40 back, I don't have any money Ming in and I'm feeling extremely scammed right now. In the photo provided you can see how close the buttons are together.

Desired Outcome

All I want is my $40 back. I have no income as of now due to being temporarily laid off from my job. Things have already been stressful enough already and it's disheartening to feel scammed as I was trying to do something to remain sane during this quarantine we are under.

I signed up for a free 4 week class and tried to cancel before the ending several times. I was then charged $59.99.
I have tried contacting Shaw Academy several times wanting to discuss my case but they have not returned any communication. I was charged for a free class that I didn't even complete due to poor teaching (my opinion). But I was charged for a free class nonetheless.

Desired Outcome

I simply just want my refund and my membership canceled.

Shaw Academy Response • Apr 24, 2020

Dear student,

As per your request, we have processed your refund.

Thank you

I tried to cancel trial, thought I had succeeded, based on an email from company, then they charged me.
I started a trial on 2/11/20. I started the course and because of all of the extras needed to be able to be successful, I attempted to cancel. I thought I had succeeded, and then received an email on 3/8/2020 (attached) that said I had cancelled. They then charged me anyways and their cancellation system will not let me cancel without calling, which I cannot due to their business hours all falling during my own.

Desired Outcome

I would like a full refund of the cost and for my account to be permanently closed and deleted (which they do not allow consumers to do!!!)

Their emails are unclear and unhelpful. They say that an email that reads "You have cancelled your membership and are going to lose access" is a reminder to cancel. They also make cancelling an account nearly impossible, it can't be done online, and the phone call is a nearly 10 minute endeavor with an automated system that resets constantly.

My issue was regarding an authorised payment of £39.99 from my PayPal of which I asked for a refund for. The company has completely disregarded my central issue.

Shaw Academy utilizes a one-click billing feature that can easily take advantage of those new to its service such as myself, and it must be changed.
As one can imagine, many students like myself are simply looking for ways to pass *** time and do something productive during the current crisis. And while there are organizations generous enough to provide free content to help with this, Shaw Academy appears to be taking advantage of this need.

Their site claims to offer a 4-week trial for online classes, with which I was obviously excited to try out. But as soon as I clicked to enter their site, I was shocked to find that my debit card had been charged. I immediately sent in a query (#XXXXXXX) on the same day (April 6th) asking for a refund out of principle.

The following day, a member of their team named "Vincent" with no other form of company identification emailed me a long response, which after reviewing several online complaints about the company, appears to be automated. It simply stated that there was no way for me to receive a refund on the $69.99 fee, as the grounds for charging were apparently "made clear at registration" as well as in "in sections 4 and 5" of the terms and conditions.

A quick review of these sections shows that they're actually quite vague in nature. And despite claiming that the funds were necessary for maintaining the low operational costs of their services, Vincent was still somehow willing to offer me $399 worth of "free" subscription services as compensation. How does this make any financial sense?

But that's not what concerned me the most. He also claimed that my membership was confirmed to be proactively cancelled, "ensuring that no further payments" would be accrued. And yet, my account stayed active into the night - thus prompting me to send another email addressing what was simply a lie.

I was livid at this point. They responded on April 8th with a final "confirmation" that my membership was cancelled. But by then, it was too late. This company has deceived me throughout the entire process, and is likely doing the same for others.

Which brings me to question how your organization ranks Shaw Academy at such a high rating, despite the myriad of complaints one can find on them with a simple Google search. I hope that your team takes this complaint seriously, as I have nothing but time to take it seriously on my end - whether that means publicly or legally - for all parties involved.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund on the service of which I had never even accessed. In addition, I would like my banking information on Shaw Academy to be removed, as they do not even have the decency to provide the option for doing so. Finally, I ask that my account be removed indefinitely as it is still not cancelled to this date. It is currently set at non-renewing, and will only be cancelled at a later date. How shady is that?

I signed up for a free month trial on the 27th March, I was immediately charged 3 payments through PayPal and they refuse to close my account
I signed up for a free one month trail on the 27th of March, the sign page explicitly said 'nothing to pay until after your free trial expires' however they instantly took 3 payments via PayPal which were not authorised, I got them refunded and asked Paypal to block Shaw Academy from taking payments in future. I immediately emailed the company explaining they had payments, and asking them to close my account as I did not trust them. I was given an off handed response saying the payments are refunded and enjoy my course, they ignored me asking for my account to be closed. I asked them several more times to close my account and eventually on the 30th March I was told it had been passed over to the relevant team who would close my account within a day. It's since been 10 days and my account is still open, they will try to charge me the full course amount if they do not close my account in time.

I think this company is very dishonest, they do not resolve complaints and instead give customers the run around. They are careful to hide information about charges and fees, take unauthorised payments it is not possible to close your own account via the website, instead they make customers contact customer services who either say it's not possible to close or they lie and say it will be closed but don't do anything.

Desired Outcome

I want the company to deactivate my account.
