Signed up for classes online. The app or website will not work. I have reached out many times trying to get a refund. No one will contact me back.
April X XXXX I paid $99 for membership and $39.95 for my certificate for after I finished my class. After my purchase nothing would work. The only contact I've had with them is them telling me how to fix the issue. None worked and since then no contact from Shaw Academy.
Desired Outcome
I just want my money back meanings nothing works. I contacted them the same day as I purchased asking for a refund because it gets stuck loading.

Their app has a one touch purchase. I clicked it in error. I wanted a refund - they won't give one. I cancelled without ever using the product.
I enrolled in a free course. Before starting any classes I was looking at the app and accidentally clicked a one click purchase that I did not want (a toolkit). I emailed them asking them to remove thetoolkit purchased in error and refund it for me. They advised they couldn't remove access to the toolkit on my accoun, so they could not provide a refund. I tried a number of times to get my refund, I never attended one lesson of the free course and I never accessed the toolkit that was purchased.
At this point I attempted to cancel, I had to call and spent time on the phone with an automated system. Through the system, I had to confirm my wish to cancel 3 or 4 times and they offered me hundreds of dollars in credit toward future courses and multiple free toolkits. I was then told that I had to email to cancel.
At this point, I was very frustrated and upset, as they are offering me hundreds of dollars in credit and free toolkits, but will not refund the $34.95 toolkit purchased in error that was never used. I completed the cancellation email, with these complaints. In the meantime, I received an email about being late for one of my lessons since I didn't reschedule thinking it would be canceled with the phone call. I replied to this email and explained that I was in the process of cancelling and the reason why. I got the email reply confirming cancellation, however after that as a reply to the email about being late to my lesson I received another email stating that they have reactivated my account provided me with credits and free toolkits.
This has been the worst customer service experience in my whole life and I have worked in the customer service field for half my life and I am currently in the health field as a CCA.
After I received the email where they reactivated my account without my consent and applied credits and free toolkits I did get very upset
I emailed them again explaining how frustrated I was with this situation, explained what was going on, that they should NOT have reactivated my account without my confirmation and that I do not want free courses or toolkits or courses. I explained again, the only thing I want is a refund for the toolkit. I may have gotten a little overzealous and sent a couple of different email replies. The reply I received was very lacking and was actually a cut and pasted canned response of the very first email I received about wanting my refund. It did not address anything written in any of my emails that I sent regarding my reactivation. Their only response to me is to offer me credit and reactivate my account, whichnis not want.I want and which I have indicated multiple times to them that I do not want.
Again, I send another email stating I don't want any credit and the only thing I want is my refund and cancellation of my account. I get another canned response. I send another email. Finally someone emails addressing my email, but again they can't help me with my refund because of their One Touch Purchase policy and they cant remove the toolkit from my account even though I have not used it, attended a lesson and I'm cancelling the account. They offer me all the course toolkits, plus 2 hard copy diplomas (which they say equals $599). So this company is willing to give me $600 in credits but will not refund $34.95 for something that I didn't want or use.
I didnt reply to this email because my account seems to be still canceled. I also informed them in a previous email that I was filing a complaint with the Revdex.com because of this situation.
I do not believe I should be charged for something that I tried to cancel and get a refund for, something that I have not used and that is apparently stuck on an account that I am never going to reactivate. I credits and products.
Desired Outcome
I deserve my refund (of $34.95) and I have tried reasoning with the company, a company that is willing to give me almost 20 times the amount of my refund in credits and products online.

Shaw Academy charged an unauthorized amount to my debit card, and has been completely impossible to contact in any effective way to discuss & resolve.
On Wednesday, April 8 at 8:54pm EST, I unintentionally purchased the Module 1 Toolkit for the Graphic Design course from the "My Courses" page. I accidentally clicked a misleading button for the Toolkit and was not given the opportunity to review, authorize, or cancel the purchase before it went through. It was one click only in a very unexpected location, with no indication that it was a button for one click purchase.
I immediately wrote to support via the website and received a confirmation at 8:58pm that they had received my message (ID number #XXXXXXX). The reply I received about 2 hours later 100% missed the mark, as if they had not even read what I wrote. They made no mention of the toolkit, and instead told me that they had cancelled my membership while at the same time giving me two months of free membership that I never asked for, and made no effort to address my concern. I was told this would show up in my account within 24 hours, and it never did.
I wrote back again on April 9th to their response, and did not receive a reply. When I wrote again to ***@shawacademy.com, I was told that they did not have my email address on file and to write back from the email address that I had used to sign up and to which I had been receiving course communications. It was, in fact, the same address. I have since written to multiple email addresses for the company attempting to rephrase myself and get a real response, and keep receiving back responses that indicate that they aren't reading and trying to help.
All ticket numbers I have opened are:

Desired Outcome
I would like the business to:
1. Return the $39.95 that they took from me, unauthorized.
2. 100% permanently cancel any membership linked to my account.
3. 100% guarantee no further charged to my bank card.

Prior to filing my complaint, I had reached out again to the billing department and received a reply later to ticket #XXXXXXX.
Through a series of back and forth messaging on that thread, I was told that "You explained to me the exact details & have now sent your payment details to our relevant team for approval. Once the refund is approved and processed, you can receive the refund amount credited back to your account within 5-7 business days."
I then received an email the day after I filed the complaint titled: "Your Membership Has Been Cancelled."
This resolves the majority of the problem, however I am still awaiting final confirmation that my account has been deleted.
Just wanted to share an update. I still had to work really hard to get any sort of actionable response, as I kept being told that they didn't recognize my email (which isn't true). I had to push back hard and multiple times before they finally acknowledged that they did, in fact, recognize my account.
Shaw Academy pulled $59.99 from my PayPal account without authorization and broke their own terms and conditions.
Copies of the emails sent to Shaw Academy which they say they have no record of and have no record of my calls and emails asking for cancellation over the last 30 days.

Re: Shaw Academy Re: Refund
Your company broke the terms and conditions! Attached is a copy of your company's terms and conditions since apparently you are not aware of them. Your terms and conditions state, "We will bill any Payment Method provided by You for your monthly membership fee at the end of the free trial period unless you cancel your membership prior to the end of the free trial period. To view the monthly membership end date of your free trial period, visit our website, log into your student account and we will tell you how long you have left in your My Courses page." I never used the program! I created an account, logged in, decided this was not for me and tried to cancel my account several times via phone and email before my free trial had ended. I followed your terms, "We will bill any Payment Method provided by You for your monthly membership fee at the end of the free trial period UNLESS YOU CANCEL YOUR MEMBERSHIP PRIOR TO THE END OF THE FREE TRIAL PERIOD." I called twice with no assistance in cancelling my account only options to add to it which I definitely DID NOT WANT. Since calling your company did nothing I emailed your company. Attached is an email I sent to your company on March 30th 2020 requesting cancellation, I immediately received an ID number email and told I would have a support staff in touch with me. I NEVER was put in touch with support staff. The email from your company said you would work with me promptly, you did not. I then called your company 3 more times without having the option to cancel. The next email I received was on the 8th of April confirming cancellation, hallelujah!!!!!! Then this *** shoot battle began!!!! Your company pulled $59.99 from my account unauthorized. I had tried numerous times to cancel my account. The real reason you refuse payment is because you work for a worthless, stealing, dishonest and vile company that refuses to work with its customers. You refuse to be wrong even though you broke your own contract. ***

I have the calls recorded as should you of your company not giving the option of cancel but free this and free that, let us add to your trial, let us give you more cap!!!!! I didn't want any of that but I didn't have the option, kind of like now. Thank you for confirming my cancellation but I already knew that because you finally cancelled after your company stole my money. ALL I WANT IS MY MONEY BACK. Refund
I had $59.99 withdrawn from my PayPal account this morning and you stole that money from me!!!! I did not authorize you to pull that money!!!! I have tried several times to cancel my account with you and you kept extending it with free trials. I first received an email notifying me my free trial subscription had been cancelled this morning, praise the Lord!!!! Then a minute after receiving that email I was notified by PayPal that you had pulled the $59.99. Please refund that money promptly or I will seek legal action against you.
Desired Outcome
I just want my $59.99 refunded.

Dear student,
We could find that the refund was processed and the issue is resolved.
After registering for the Social Media Program I was charged for a course module that I didn't need/use. I tried to reach out but no response received
After browsing through the website I mistakenly clicked a link for more information. Before I had the chance to cancel my selection I was charged $34.99 for a module that I didn't want or need. I tried contacting Shaw Academy but little recourse was provided for me. After the initial response to my query, they stopped responding to me.
Desired Outcome
I would like this charge to refunded or moved to the course certificate payment.
Customer Response

After receiving contact from the Shaw Academy support team, their representative helped me to rectify this unintentional payment.
I am out $50 because of a one-click purchase feature on their site. When loading the site had issues, I clicked on accident . They won't refund.
On March 26, I logged on to the free trial of a class through Shaw Academy. As I was going to click on the course page, my web page on my phone reloaded causing it it jump up. Instead of clicking on the course, I accidentally clicked on a one-click purchase button for the "course toolkit" which I never intended to buy. I emailed the customer service contact immediately and asked them to cancel the order and refund my money. I then chose not to log on to the class until they responded. I never opened the product, however, they said they could not refund my money because they had already made it available for download. I emailed them back and filed a case with my credit card company. Today (April 13) I went to cancel my trial membership and the same thing happened again, where I accidentally purchased an "e-certificate" for a course I haven't even taken and had no intention to take. This manner of business, and putting a one click purchase button on the main page is a shady business practice. The items I accidentally purchases have absolutely no value to me, and now I'm out of $50 when money is already stretched thin due to COVID-19. I am very unhappy with this situation.
Desired Outcome
I would like a full refund for items accidentally purchased and then I would like the company to stop contacting me offering me more stuff I don't want.

They refunded the money, albeit not promptly, and have for the most part stopped contacting me. Any further advertisement from them will be blocked. Thank you for your assistance Revdex.com.
During a free trial, I tried canceling via their procedures and even after email communication with a rep. they failed to cancel and charged me.
I received 4 weeks free trial, after which I would be charged. During the free trial I lost interest and clicked the link in their app to cancel membership. Running that process resulted in a message that I needed to call to cancel. I called the provided phone number and it was completely automated. The voice tried multiple times to retain me, three times exactly. And after repeatedly commanding a cancelation the automated voice said I had to email to cancel. I then emailed the email provided. The company response said my email wasn't linked to a membership, even though it is. I replied with requested information (email, phone number and name on account) and warned them with a clear message that the process to cancel is excessive and I difinitively desire to cancel my membership. I failed to receive any more communication from the company. And now I have been charged for the membership now that the free trial has ended.
Desired Outcome
I want my membership officially canceled and a full refund.

The company refused a refund, despite the extenuating circumstances and lied that they cancelled my subscription when requested.
I signed up for a free trial in February 2020. I was not happy with the service provided and decided to cancel the subscription but was unsuccessful (the subscription was paused instead of being cancelled). I was then charged for the service on the 9th of April and when I contacted the company to request a refund, I was refused, despite the fact that I have not used their services for over a month. The company also claimed that they cancelled my subscription and added 6 months of their services free of charge but upon checking my account, I discovered that my subscription was not in fact cancelled and I will keep being charged (the complimentary 6 months are also not reflected anywhere in the profile). I have sent another email to them but have not heard back yet. Upon reading the reviews online and other users' experiences with this company, I believe that I will not be successful in trying to sort this out with the company directly. I believe I am entitled to a full refund, as I have not used the services that I was charged for and have I not checked my account, I would keep being charged.
I was charged on my debit card and my account at Shaw Academy is under ***@icloud.com email address. I am happy to provide any further details that might be necessary.
Desired Outcome
I would like a full refund and complete deletion of my account.

Was charges $100 after being told I would be given 4 additional weeks and tool kit for free.
I registered for their free 4 weeks graphic design class on 03/12/2020, I called I. 04/08/2020 to cancel my membership as I don't have time to attend the classes. The automated lady said I shouldn't cancel the class that they will give me 4 additional weeks of classes, and a study kit for free. I took advantage of that and I said okay I would not cancel, she said I should go to my profile, and I will see the 4 additional weeks of class and the tool kit in my profile for free(no charge) and I can go ahead and use the tools. I said okay, and I ended the call with her. On checking my account balance on 04/09/2020 I was charged $39.95 twice, and on 04/10/2020 I was charged $59.99. I sent an email to them, and they responded that they do not see my profile and email in their system, I replied and said "but I can log in into my account with you guys with the same email address" and they stopped responding to me.
Desired Outcome

I was charged 24,95 EUR for a toolkit even though there were no signs that it costs money, nor confirmation that I will be charged.
When I cancelled my free one month subscription they send me an email giving all toolkits and diploma for free if I resubscribe. After doing so and logging back to my account, I pressed "Get toolkit" thinking that it is now free and got instantly charged 24,95 EUR from my paypal account! This price was not displayed anywhere on the screen, when I pressed the button "Get toolkit", neither was there a warning that I will be charged. I consider it as an unauthorised charge and a scam. Please refund!

Shaw Academy took money out of my account after I had cancelled a free trial period.
I was given a 4 week free trial period at Shaw Academy through T-mobile. I started the free trial on Tuesday March 10th. When I started the free trial, which forces you to input bank or card information as most trials do in case you forget to cancel, the terms and conditions stated that as long as I cancelled before the trial ended I would not be charged, nowhere did it state that subsequent payments would be made even if you cancelled your service. I went online on April 3rd to try and cancel my subscription and deactivate my account as I hadn't used it even one day up to that point, I went through a lengthy process of questions and groveling for me not to go, then when I tried to cancel online I was given a phone number and told to call and it would be cancelled, I called and went through the same thing on the phone for half an hour just to be told I had to email their cancellation department, so on April 3rd, with 4 days left on my "free trial", I emailed them saying I had not used the service and I wanted to cancel and deactivate my account. No response, I emailed them again on April 5th, again no response. Their cancellation department deliberately waited until the free trial had ended to respond to me and on April 8th $59.99 was withdrawn from my bank account in direct violation of the terms and conditions of the Shaw Academy "free trial". I've emailed them several times about this and always receive the same response. "We're sorry, it's in the terms and conditions, please don't leave us. Here's another "free trial"." This is made all the more disturbing with my discovery that this seems to be their racket as many others have had the same issue. I will not be using Shaw Academy services ever again but I intend to get my money back from this fraudulent organization.
Desired Outcome
I would like a full refund of $59.99 back into my bank account and I would like my account with Shaw Academy cancelled, deactivated, and removed from their systems entirely.

They charged me for a toolkit and certificate for this class I have yet to take. On the website when you try to look at what something is, it charges you. It's very shady. I immediately sent an email about it wanting a refund. I've sent like four emails. They send back automated responses saying the same thing. purchased toolkit on shawacademy by mistake. Need a refund.
On April 8, I was on the shawacademy site for a free class. Then my computer froze and I was trying to click off the page. Then when the computer recovered the site said I purchased a tool kit for $34.95. I did not authorize this purchase and it was a mistake since their site had so many pop ups. I contacted them right away but they refuse to cancel/refund me this transaction. Instead they offer me more toolkits I do not want. This company refuse to do business in a honorable way. I never wanted to purchase a toolkit and need them to refund this unauthorized charge. The site has lots of pop ups with one click purchase, they need to make it so that this doesn't happen if people click on it by mistake, they need to have another screen so people confirm the purchase, not just first click. Nonetheless mine was a mistake and I told the company I don't want it but they won't give me a refund.
Desired Outcome
I want shaw academy to cancel the authorization on my credit card of$ 34.95 or refund the amount as I did not authorize this purchase.

Refunded
Several transactions were made to my account. Immediately it looked like fraudulent activity. I requested a refund and I have still not received it
On April 6th, I attempted to start a nutrition class that was free for a month. However, you have to pay $39.95 to gain access to the study materials (so it wasn't really free). I used my credit card that I had on file with my PayPal account because I didn't have the card in front of me at that time. Then I received several notification to my email that I had various characters made from Shaw Academy. There were about 6 charges for 0.50 and one charge for the amount of $39.95. Of course this looks like a scam at this point so immediately I send an email to support requesting a refund and let them know that several charges were made to my account in addition to the amount initially that was charged for the study materials. Then I checked back later and saw that the 0.50 charges were refunded but not the $39.95. I again requested a refund via their email support, no response. The next day, on 4/7, I emailed again and again no response about the refund, only a reminder for the virtual class. I have only seen the small charges like that when people are trying to test the account and then they make several large withdrawl afterwards to get their money. It will also not allow me to login into my account on the website. Then upon looking at the transaction in my PayPal account, I see that it is set up for automatic payments when I thought it was a one time payment for study materials. So I had to report the transaction with my bank and get a new card to I wouldn't be charged again. I have still not heard back from anyone regarding my refund, and I have not used the course at all since I noticed the fraudulent activity.
Desired Outcome
I would like a complete refund to my paypal account in the amount of $39.95

They wouldn't refund the money mischarged to my account.
I signed up for a 30-day Free trial with Shaw Academy. After a week of classes I knew I wouldn't want to purchase my subscription because it was not what I was looking for and not worth it in my opinion. They seem to be super money hungry, they have a "one-click purchase" for a 'Toolkit' that has complementary material of the courses and it's $39.99, they strategically placed it in the middle of the page before joining every class and close to the main buttons of the page. I noticed it from the beginning but one time I clicked it by mistake, right away they took the money from my account. I emailed them right away and they seemed unapologetic and said there's nothing they could do about it, to make up for the incident they said they gave me "FOR FREE" 3 more Toolkits for the different courses I was doing; I asked them if I had to click the button again, I was scared to make the same mistake once again. They said that I can confidently do it so I did... they charged me again. This time I was not upset, I was certainly very sad that they played me like this and I fell in the game. They won't give me a refund of none of the two purchases, it's upsetting to see that they've played and will play a lot of people just like they did with me. I cancelled the subscription, which was a hassle too and they promised they won't charge but they have already taken almost two months worth of subscription for something I didn't want and won't even bother using. I want a refund because I feel I deserve it, it's unfair that I pay for something I didn't want, won't use, won't benefit in any manner from it. I lost my job with the pandemic tragedy we're in right now, I was just trying to make this quarantine more productive, this is so unfair.
Desired Outcome
I want my $79.90 back to my Bank Account. I don't want any store credit, any Toolkit, I want the money back.

Dear Student,
We could find that the issue is resolved and the refund is processed from our end.
Shaw Academy charged me for a trial service I did not sign up for. Refused to refund me.
I recieved a promo code for a free trial to Shaw Academy. I had an an old inactive account that I used in 2017. I logged on thinking this is where I would use my promo code. I was required to enter my payment information in order to use the promo code. The code did not work. I re-read the promo code conditions and it said that if you had an existing account a new account needed to be made to apply code so that is what I did. I created and registered with a new email. Used my trial/promo code on that account. Surprisingly I had no problem canceling that trial service. I never logged back on or selected courses from the old account. Never recieved any emails of any kind....no confirmation of any activity. Never thought about this old account again until yesterday when I was charged from it. I never used any of the services and never agreed or authorized a free trial from there. In fact the promo code did not work and I was given an error. If you log on to the account you can see there has been no activity since 2017. I did not sign up for this trial. Shaw Academy is stealing from people. I explained this to Shaw Academy and they refused my refund.
Desired Outcome
Originally I was seeking a refund only but now my main concern is WARNING others of thier sneaky practices. Do not give your credit/payment information to these people. They are crooked. Should be shut down.

Shaw Academy responded to my latest email, and I was refunded the full amount.
In looking for a free included feature, I pressed a button that immediately purchased a $40 bonus feature. I emailed them immediately to no avail.
I signed up using a deal for a free class- or so I thought. There are 10 class periods to a single class, and the free deal allowed me four weeks. No matter how I scheduled it (only allowed 2 classes/week), I still had 2 remaining classes . . . which they will charge you $70/month for. They give you a free toolkit, and highly advertise the $40 extra features EVERYWHERE on the site. In trying to find my free 'starter toolkit', I pressed a relevant button that read 'Get my Toolkit" which instantly purchased the $40 bonus without any kind of confirmation. I emailed them (contact information is extremely hard to come by) and they refused (the incentive they gave tried to get me to waste another $210+). I emailed again, to which they are now ignoring.
Desired Outcome
I want a refund of my charge, as I have emailed them about several times. I also want my account deleted. This entire things has turned me off of working with such a deceptive company. I emailed them 4/7/20 initially, to which they responded same day, but hours later. I replied within minutes, and sent an additional reply this morning (4/9/20) after no response has since been had.

#XXXXXXX
#XXXXXXX
#XXXXXXX
#XXXXXXX
#XXXXXXX
#XXXXXXX
#XXXXXXX
#XXXXXXX
#XXXXXXX
I would like the business to: 1.

I just want my $59.99 refunded.
Dear student,
We could find that the refund was processed and the issue is resolved.
Thank you
After registering for the Social Media Program I was charged for a course module that I didn't need/use.
I would like this charge to refunded or moved to the course certificate payment.

I want my membership officially canceled and a full refund.
Dear Student,
As per your request we have cancelled your subscription.

I would like a full refund and complete deletion of my account.
Dear student,
we could find that the subscription was paused instead of cancelling. Also our support team had offered other solutions to resolve the issue.

I just want my money refunded. This is outright scam. How would you tell me something on the phone and act otherwise? I am really disappointed

I would like a full refund of $59.99 back into my bank account and I would like my account with Shaw Academy cancelled, deactivated, and removed from their systems entirely.

I signed up for a 30 day free trial on 3/11/2020. I tried cancelling a week later but there phone doesn't allow for me to speak to anyone. They charged me $59.99 28 days later on 4/8/2020. Also, I attempted again to cancel on 4/8/2020. On that same day I emailed them kindly asking for a refund because I was not able to use there services at all. I did not attend any classes that they offer. I have had to care for a family member who is ill during these tough times. They are refusing to refund the $59.99 as I can now see that they do to hundred of others. All I ask is for a refund of the services that I have not been able to use. This is unacceptable business practice. Please take care of this issue.
I am seeking a full refund of $59.99.

Charged me for a toolkit & certificate I do not want for a class I haven't taken yet. Won't refund my money. Keep sending automated email responses.
They charged me for a toolkit and certificate for this class I have yet to take. On the website when you try to look at what something is, it charges you. It's very shady. I immediately sent an email about it wanting a refund. I've sent like four emails. They send back automated responses saying the same thing. That they won't refund the money for the toolkit, but they will give me 3 more toolkits. I didn't want the first one. They don't even acknowledge the other charge. I don't want anything to do with this company and I want my money back.
I want my money refunded immediately. They charged my $34.95 twice.

purchased toolkit on shawacademy by mistake.
I want shaw academy to cancel the authorization on my credit card of$ 34.95 or refund the amount as I did not authorize this purchase.

Unauthorized charge to my card
I wanted to give their free trial ago but found I was unable to attend any of the classes because of my schedule. I cancelled my free trial membership before it was over and they still charged me. I've tried mediating with Shaw Academy and they refuse to refund my money.

I want my $79.90 back to my Bank Account. I don't want any store credit, any Toolkit, I want the money back.
Dear Student,
We could find that the issue is resolved and the refund is processed from our end.
Thank you
Shaw Academy charged me for a trial service I did not sign up for.
