I am rejecting this response because: this is unacceptable that Priceline is not taking responsibility for a company clearly using their name. This is a runaround. The resolution was through a company identifying themselves as affiliated with Priceline.

My response to Priceline reservatio[redacted] was to accept the full refund that was offered. The Revdex.com later sent me a letter about a different complaint that was mailed to be in error. The complaint in that file was about a different hotel and belonged to some other person. Ms. [redacted] at Priceline has written that they will give my husband a full refund to settle the complaint against Priceline for the [redacted] reservation.

I am rejecting this response because:Date Sent: 6/16/2015 12:00:40 PM  Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because:I have attached the previous addition from your website containing what a "VALID PASSPORT" is and your recently updated version of what a "VALID PASSPORT" is, if you notice the time stamp at the bottom of the page on scan 10  was a month ago and it contained no information which could have helped prevent this issue however your recent update does contain pertinent information that would have prevented this. I find it interesting this sudden change to your website after I brought this issue to your attention. Coincidence? I think not, from my perspective it appears you recognized the error and then made the necessary changes to put your business in the right. Its a good thing I printed the previous version before you changed it isn't it? I also have included the [redacted] for you to take a look at so you can see what a proper warning should look like, maybe you could change your website AGAIN to look like that and that way you could avoid any confusion whatsoever. Important reminders at the bottom of the page give clear and necessary information to prevent the issue I experienced with you company which cost me 1,200 and then I had to repurchase new tickets at 1303 a piece. Ultimately your lack of important information cost me 3806.00 and a cousin of mine [redacted] had to pay an additional 1303 costing our trip a grand total of 5109.00 additional due to your error. I am rejecting this response because: They are lying when they said they contacted the hotel.  We ([redacted] and I together) and talked to the very person (Nancy) that the rep from Price Line "said" he spoke to and she told us that was not what she had told him!  Also, I tried to cancel my stay within the time period and their phone system would not let me in.  They said I canceled at 12:01pm and their cutoff was at 12:00. I had been trying for 2 hours to cancel.  I also spoke this so called rep for 23 minutes complaining and trying to get some answers and it was only about 12:30 when we concluded.  So I know I canceled before the 12:01 time frame that they claimed I did.   I would warn anyone from using this disreputable company as they lie and manufacture ways to keep your money.

rental counter is not at the airport and they had no mid size cars available
when you arrived at the rental counter.
 
We reviewed your reservation and verified that the
location you selected is not at the airport. We provided the rental counter's
address on your contract page that you reviewed and initialed prior to booking.
We also stated on your confirmation email that the vehicle will be picked up at
[redacted]. We also advised on your confirmation email that you
need to contact [redacted] Rent-A-Car directly for any questions regarding your
reservation and provided their phone number.
 
The reservation that you purchased is payable directly to
the rental car company and they only charge your card when the car is picked
up. If there's no cars available, you will have to rent a vehicle from another
company. We apologize; however, we will be unable to process a refund for your
reservation.

if we overlooked anything that might support a more favorable conclusion.
Unfortunately, there is nothing we can add to what has already been stated in
our previous correspondence.  Our record confirms that on July 3rd
2015, the consumer selected the purchase of a
non-refundable Express Deals reservation. The consumer then contacted Priceline
requesting to cancel the reservation. The representative informed the consumer
that he/she had selected and authorized the purchase of a non-refundable reservation,
and sorry that we are unable to assist with the requested refund.

Our record indicates that on Jan 19, 2016 at 15:38:45 PM ET, a Priceline representative spoke with the consumer and advised him that a refund request in the amount of $272.00, which is 200% of the price difference between the amount he paid and the rate he previously found online was submitted. I am rejecting this response because: When I book Priceline, I am aware that my credit card will be charged the amount 127.40.  I am aware that when I arrive at the hotel, I will present a credit card for incidentals.  I have attached a screenshot of the credit card activity.  There was one charge confirmed by Priceline and they had two pending charges in addition to the already confirmed purchase.  Yes, the charges dropped a few days later but Priceline had no right to hold three times the room rate.  Priceline needs to explain why there were the other two pending charges.

Prior to booking the reservation, we stated on the consumer’s contract page that the hotel may charge mandatory fees (e.g., resort fees) or optional (parking, phone calls or minibar charges), which are not included in your offer price. We are making an exception and offering to refund the resort fee because we value the consumer’s business, and have asked the consumer to send the hotel receipt listing the charges for the resort fee, charged and collected by the hotel upon check-out: 12/23/2015, to ###-###-####.

we can add to what has already been stated in our previous correspondence. The consumer chose to
visit our Published Price service, where consumers have the opportunity to
review and compare hotel room rates prior to selecting and purchasing hotel
room reservations. The consumer selected a specific hotel property from a list
of participating properties, at the disclosed room rate, including taxes and
fees. Upon hotel room check-in/out the hotel representative provided the
consumer with the lower negotiated room rate established between priceline.com
and the hotel. We are sorry that the hotel provided the consumer with a
receipt or confirmation disclosing the lower negotiated room rate
established between priceline.com and the hotel, which is not available to the
public. Priceline.com is a travel agent and as such, makes hotel room rates
available on behalf of the hotels. Just like every other business, we receive
reduced rates because we sell in large volume, and if you compare our rates,
you will find them to be very competitive. We strive to offer customers the
best alternatives for saving money while at the same time maintaining
profitability. We are sorry
that we are unable to assist the consumer any further in this situation.

I am rejecting this response because:First, the photos on the site  that are provided by the business show only rooms with two and three beds. The policies of [redacted]s state that children ALWAYS stay free. Having TWO queen beds is NOT a "bed type", and the room that was chosen actually stated that it was a room with TWO Queen Beds. During the booking process it goes to a screen to "Choose room", the selection we made was a room with TWO (2) queen beds. That selection does NOT state that it is based upon availability, anywhere. Once you select the room it goes through the process to book it, and then CONFIRMS the room booked and showed it a a room with TWO (2) queen beds. This complaint  has NOTHING to do with "bed type" as they keep stating, it has to do with the room type as booked. They attempt to use semantics to avoid the issue here. The issue here is that he site uses misleading photos, misleading room selection types, and then once at the hotel they utilize bait and switch in direct contradiction to their own policies and in direct contradiction to the room type selected and paid for by the customer. Then they offer no way to cancel the booking. For any hotel to be this way AND offer no option to cancel the booking shows that they have no regard for the consumer and for Priceline to offer zero assistance means that they have no issue with a business utilizing their site for such scams.
