The hotel advised they were unable to receive any complaints during your stay and will not authorize any compensations or refunds. A refund in the amount of 41.84 USD was processed on October 14, 2016. This amount is equivalent to 20% of your total reservation cost. I am rejecting this response because:  Priceline is shirking their responsibility to acknowledge THEY assigned the hotel 3 stars, not the 2 or 2.5 it deserves based on not meeting the description on their website for an "upscale hotel..." as outlined in my first message.  Per my initial complaint, this issue isn't the hotel's fault; it's Priceline's and they should refund me, not the hotel.  The [redacted] Inn is rated lower than 3 stars by at least several other similarly well-respected travel agencies online (i.e. [redacted] and trip advisor) and Priceline should acknowledge they have erred in ranking this hotel too high, thereby falsely advertising it to consumers like me, who would not have otherwise stayed there, even for a lower rate.   Additionally, Priceline should change this rating so as to not deceive other consumers into paying a 3-star rate for a below quality hotel.   Finally, I understand what Priceline is saying about them getting a lower rate but if I am shown a lower available rate at check-in and they have a 100% and 200% price guarantee, they should abide by it.   For either reason:  Falsely advertising a 2 or 2.5 star hotel and locking me into a stay there when I wanted a 3-star hotel and continuing to dupe customers with an inappropriately high rating OR abiding by their price guarantee, I should receive at least a full refund.  On top of all this, their customer service has wasted a few hours of my time forcing me to file a complaint here to be listened to since your offshore call centers and email replies don't accept responsibility for any of this.  NOT good customer service.

boarding by the airline, and not Priceline, due to a passport, which would

I am rejecting this response because:Lucky for me, [redacted] did the right thing and provided me with the refund for the upgrade fee that we never were informed of verbally, and it was slipped in unbeknownst to us at the counter prior to signing a rental agreement.I do not plan on ever doing business with Priceline again. Your price negotiator is a joke - it holds no water when you actually need it to work in your favor. This is sad to me because I have always enjoyed Priceline and the deals I was able to obtain in the past. I plan to warn those I know to be wary, since this is the first time I've had an issue and Priceline was completely useless as a broker and customer service agent. I realize I'm one fish in a very big pond, and that this probably won't matter much to the corporate executives. However, as I told [redacted] what is sad is that I see companies like [redacted] thriving and it is because I KNOW if I have an issue with one of their products, they will resolve it - no questions asked. Therefore, I am very loyal to them. The same applies with other companies I routinely shop from. How many hours of everybody's time went into resolving this little complaint? [redacted] Priceline, mine and my husband. So ridiculous - we could have all saved each other a lot of pain and hardship and truthfully a broken seller/buyer relationship now.After this transaction I don't see any value in Priceline's service. They aren't there when you need them. And yes, we signed the rental agreement. You have made it clear that is really all you will hear with respect to this rental car discrepancy. I understand you need to protect your bottom line and worry about precedent, but again, as I told [redacted] - at what point does your customer service team ask themselves, "Wow. This customer is really not letting go of this issue, perhaps they are telling the truth?" Did I every have any disputes with all of the other transactions I've conducted with Priceline in the past? Did my husband? Nope.We are honest people, as I indicated before, if we EVER had agreed to the charges I would not be disputing this. The upgrade was slipped into our agreement without our consent or knowledge period. And suddenly we were charged twice what we were expecting and we are supposed to be content knowing simply because we signed the rental agreement. I will be thoroughly reviewing my rental agreements in the future, holding up the line to review every damn word, all of the fine print, and asking the agent multiple times if any upgrades are being slipped into the agreement without my knowledge. Thank you for making me that irritating, paranoid customer. It is due to your complete reluctance to use a little empathy and do the right thing.
