Our partner's usually have guest satisfaction in mind. They will usually take steps to address concerns when received. The hotel informed us, they offered you a different room; however, you did not accept the second room and decided to check out. The hotel did not approve any credits or refunds of your reservation. The hotel informed us, they authorized 64.00 USD on the credit card you used at the time of check in. This amount includes the hotel's resort fee and the hotel's security deposit. The hotel informed us this amount was reversed on July 10, 2017 and may reflect on your account depending on your bank's process. In most cases, within 3-5 business days. Furthermore, a refund of 113.14 USD was issued in two separate transactions for a total refund of 226.28 USD as a one-time exception to the cancel policy. We reviewed your reservation and verified your hotel is a 3.5 star property and is consistently rated as a 3.5 star hotel. We understand that you have issues with these hotel reservations.   We understand that you are not happy with this policy and we really wish that we could give you the resolution that you are looking for.   Our records show that the currency you were provided for both reservations are "$" which means USD and not "C$" for CAD.   We work really hard to avoid any confusion when customers use our website. In order to book a reservation, we require that you review your reservation details, including the total charge with the corresponding currency and the terms and conditions, prior to entering your billing information. In this instance, our records show that the information was reviewed and the request was submitted for booking. By submitting your request, you indicated that you have read, understood and agree to the terms and conditions stipulated, and all information entered/provided is correct.   For your reference, a copy of the contract page of both reservations has been sent in a separate e-mail. I am rejecting this response because: I was not made aware as I was  [redacted] this reservation that I would not actually be doing business with Priceline.Com, but with another party, [redacted].Com, as stated in your response. Also, it was not disclosed to me from Priceline.Com as I was [redacted] my reservation, and supplying Priceline.Com with my credit card information, that my personal credit card information would be shared with third parties such as [redacted].Com and with the [redacted] directly.   This information was not included with my hotel confirmation that I received directly from you, Priceline.Com (the seller)., stating that  the price for the room would be a total of $117.28. and not $160.98 as  I was charged. The Priceline.Com website stated that this room rate was for double occupancy, however, you failed to disclose that additional charges would apply for additional guests, and specifically what those charges would be.

The airline had to split off your reservation along with [redacted] so they can cancel the flight for [redacted]. As a result, a message from the airline was transmitted to our system indicating that they have made changes to the reservation. In return, around 1:07 PM ET last May 20, 2017, we sent you an email and the same email was sent again May 22, 2017 around 6:38 PM ET. In the email, we noted that we've been made aware that you have made changes directly with [redacted]. We also noted in the email that future changes, including schedule change notifications from the airline, will no longer be sent to us, which means that our website will not reflect your most up-to-date itinerary and advised you to call [redacted] prior to each departure to confirm your flight information. I have reviewed the response made by Priceline.  Their response was in reference to complaint ID 1[redacted] in which I explained how Priceline cancelled my prepaid room reservation so that their hotel could get a higher paying customer.  I am very disappointed that I had to take the time to write this complaint in order to receive a serious attempt from Priceline to find me a satisfactory replacement room.  I am now pleased with the resolution, as now I can still take my trip and stay in a hotel equivalent to the one I originally booked.

I am rejecting this response because:The hotel description did not clearly outline the location in terms of the distance from the airport in which I was flying into, and it appears Priceline is pulling some sort of scams to get money out of consumers, upon reviewing complaints from others consumers and the responses from customer service to other consumers are identical in nature, they are lying and placing the blame of nonrefunding on the hotels as they have in various other complaints when it is in fact them, if you refunded money to someone this month because of death in family and they did not have insurance then I should be refunded my money as well because the hotel details were not clearly outlined as far as the distance from the airport which is the most important. I have gotten the run around by them and the lack of proper information in regards to the hotel cost me more money out of my pocket and essentially ruined my vacation.

I have
received the consumer’s additional comments. As you requested, I have again
reviewed this matter to see if we overlooked anything that might support a more
favorable conclusion. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can add to what has
already been stated in our previous correspondence. Our record shows that
when the consumer’s initial offer price was not accepted, we  advised that we were unable to find a partner
to accept the consumer’s bid of $16 per day, and offered the consumer an option
that stated “we could get you a rental car reservation for $47 per day.” We
listed the new price on the Contract Page that the consumer reviewed, prior to
accepting the new offer. By submitting the request for booking, the consumer
indicated that he/she  read, understood,
and agree to the non-refundable terms and conditions stipulated on the contract.
We are sorry; however, the reservation is restricted and cannot be changed,
cancelled or refunded. This information was also presented to the consumer on his/her
Contract Page. A copy of the contract was sent to the consumer. I am sorry that Priceline
is unable to assist the consumer any further in this situation.
