Staples made a decision not to honor the price match to [redacted].com as the item was a clearance item. Staples price match policy does not price match a competitor’s clearance item. Customer was notified in store and via Office of the President that the price match was not going to be honored.

This complaint is not valid due to the customer trying to use a Staples coupon at [redacted]. The coupon is valid but not on [redacted] website.

Staples apologizes for the inconvenience the customer experienced. The item ordered ran out quicker than expected, so the order was cancelled. The receipt of an email order confirmation is simply a recognition that we have received your requested order, and does not constitute an offer to sell. We...

reserve the right to limit the quantity of any item sold, or prohibit a sale altogether. Unfortunately, as it was a while supplies last item, we are unable to honor the sales price after it is out of stock or backorder the item for you.

Your response is appallingly poor. You offered these items for sale. I agreed to purchase 5. You shipped some to other customers but you shipped zero to me. You then claimed to have tried to find a similar item for me and failed. I showed you a perfectly acceptable similar item and you refused to ship that to me as well. Your customer service so far is somewhere between non-existent and extremely unacceptable.Do the right thing and either fulfill my original order or send me the acceptable substitute I suggested at the original price I agreed to pay. Stop trying to give me the brush off. You screwed up, it's time to own-up and make amends.

Staples apologizes for the time our customer was kept on hold. Staples associates are encouraged to ensure our customers agree to any hold time and keep that as short as possible. A $10.00 courtesy coupon was issued for this inconvenience. The customer has been advised that the coupon that she...

requested was not applied because this coupon is set up for purchases in Staples US Stores only and per the disclaimer can only be applied to regular priced items and no other discounts are allowed. The customer requested that this be applied to her order that was charged through our delivery channel and had other coupons applied.

Staples apologizes for the inconvenience experienced when requesting to utilize our price match guarantee. Upon further review of the requested price match, it was determined the item requested was not the same as the item we had available as the model numbers did not match. Per our price match...

policy, the items must be exactly the same, including but not limited to the model number. Based on this information, we are not able to process a price match adjustment to the requested price.

Staples apologizes for the inconvenience the customer experienced. We explained to the customer that the item they attempted to purchase was on sale for $19.99 on 11/27/16 only and was listed as a while supplies last item. The email confirmation they received was dated 11/28/16 and listed the item...

that had been on sale as $149.99. A new email was issued 11/29/16 with the following “We’re very sorry, but item [redacted] PRINTER BLACK was no longer in stock when we were processing your Staples order number [redacted]”. A supervisor spoke to our customer 11/30/16 and confirmed the same information and assured the customer that they were not charged for this item.

Staples apologies for the unavailable item and for the order being canceled due to this. We have informed the customer of our "While supplies last." policy and advised we would not be able to honor the sale price.

We have reached a resolution with the customer. We have issued them an e-gift card for $215 that should arrive to their email within 24 hours. This is in addition to the already issued $50 Staples Coupon. We informed the customer of the expected time frame to receive said card and thanked them for their patience.

Staples apologizes for any inconvenience we may have caused to the customer. Regretfully Staples is unable to provide reimbursement for a lost or stolen gift card.

The ad that was attached in Staples response is a complete fabrication and alteration of the ad & terms AFTER the fact in an attempt to elude the real facts of the matter and real ad which I took a picture of while in store as posted on the display counter. It clearly shows the real unaltered terms at time of purchase. The ads Staples attached did not exist nor were ever posted in the store.  Please do not insult my intelligence by attempting to show me a fake ad with fake terms which are not even spelled correctly nor grammatically correct.  The fact of the matter is that it was Staples responsibility to include any and all exclusions on the actual rebate form under the terms and conditions and have it proofread by legal to make sure all of their "T's  are crossed and I's are dotted" beforehand when dealing with such a large amount. You cannot go back after the fact and alter terms as you see fit when customers have purchased the product already in good faith based on total end cost, and directly handed a rebate form with no such exclusions and verbally told it was valid as well at time of purchase. This is in addition to the form being publically posted on Staples own rebate website which also clearly stated the requirements and terms as has previously been provided and complied with. My position on the matter of false advertising & bait and switch still stands. If Staples decides to do the right thing and honor the additional rebate as entitled to, as advertised by staples employees and website and sends the full rebate amount totaling $1000 for the purchase of 4 phones, I will consider the matter closed. Otherwise, I will proceed as planned in my previous response. I sincerely hope you take the matter seriously and send the rebate due. Only then will I consider the matter closed and go away.
