GE's technician was well aware of the safety issue when he initially came outHe fixed a lighte and ordered a burner part not because it was rusting; it was because it was damaged and started to rust where it was damaged when it blew upThe tech also ordered a knob which was damaged by the fire explosion GE called me on 5/31; he argued with me acted like an it when I mentioned to him that a complaint was also filed with US Consumer Product Safety Commission I agreed to let his technician come and inspect along with the refrigerator which was not scheduled for repair to my knowledgeWhen I called GE a couple of days ago to check the status; I was told the service ticket was closed and there were no records of any parts being ordered On June 2, I received parts for the refrigerator and they were the same parts that were tried out by the technician at least twice before and did not workTechnician's 4th attempt top fix the refrigerator in early May failed and he told us that he would order the part that was originally in the refrigerator since the newer version of the part didn't work with three replacementsI called GE and asked why they ordered the exact same part knowing it wouldn't work; and I mentioned again what GE's technician told us about ordering the original part but this it started to ague again with me and refused to order the correct partI TOLD HIM TO SEND TECHNICIAN TO LOOK AT THE COOKTOP BUT NOT TO TOUCH THE REFRIGERATOR UNLESS THEY HAVE THE CORRECT PARTI ALSO TOLD MY WIFE THAT GE'S TECHNICIAN WAS NOT ALLOWED TO WORK ON THE REFRIGERATOR GE's technician arrived on June and started to work on the refrigeratorMy wife called and I spoke with the technician; I asked why he was working on the refrigerator when I have NOT given permission to touch itHis response was that he had a service ticket to fix it but its the same part that has failed to work and there is no point of trying it againHe also said that the part had visual defect in itHe then looked at the Cooktop and said he noticed the problem and gas smell but I told him not to fix it since an investigator from the US Consumer Product Safety Commission is already scheduled to inspect the unit on June When GE's technician came on March and inspected the Cooktop; he order some parts but at the same time gave me a number to contact GE due to safety issueThree days later; I received incomplete parts so I called that number and spoke to a ladyShe said she will not be able to order any parts since the issue is related to safety which is handled by another department and then she transferred me to that departAnother lady picked up and I asked what department was it; I was told they handled issues related to safety of the productsI explained to her my issues and only response I got form her was "we are not going to replace the unit"I ended my conversation immediately and hung up the phone Regards, [redacted] ***

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below Attempting to misdirect and confuse the issue, GE has responded by indicating my microwave oven is almost years old What they fail to note is that the part at issue here was replaced one year and months ago (a new GE part at the time) This was the door switch on the microwave The service that was needed last week was for that very same part That "slightly older than one year" part had failed, and is clearly faulty/defective What GE explained to me over the phone AFTER THE SERVICE CALL was that they replace the faulty part; BUT guess what if any new parts we (GE) put in during a service call fail after days, we (GE) will charge you (the consumer) $and up EACH TIME to come out and replace that faulty/defective part we put in.So, in other words, the consumer isn't charged $for the part that was supposed to work the first time they put it in, but the consumer WILL INSTEAD be charged $and up for someone to come out and fix GE's mistake This is an underhanded way to make money and this deceptive business practice is ripe for class action status; and I wish the state attorneys general would look into this as well in the interim.Also, in the interim, I will relate this dissatisfaction to all I know and will recommend staying far away from GE appliances and service Regards, [redacted]

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below The company's proposed resolution does not address the month without the appliance purchased in good faith (caused by GE's negligence in rectifying the problem within a reasonable time) or the expenses incurred by me due to their red tape and delaysWhile I do accept that they would need to have their company install the the replacement and am willing to accommodate that, I also believe a full refund, in the amount of 157.60, would be appropriate to compensate for the faulty product, added costs to me, inconvenience of not having use of the microwave and vent I legally purchased with the understanding that it would be in working order, and the excessive delaysThey are willing to pay hundreds of dollars (multiple service people, parts, replacement, and travel) to tick boxes$is a small expense toward goodwill after the poor customer service and receipt of a defective product An alternative proposed resolution would be a full refund on both GE products (the second item is a dishwasher, Item # [redacted] Model # [redacted] ) purchased at the same time (and both still under warranty) and a return of the appliances to GE, thereby terminating any further relationship with this companyI'm uncertain if this portion of the response is public or private but I do have a receipt for all GE purchases I made, available if needed Regards, [redacted]
