I would give zero stars, if possible I was charged $for a 5-year renewal of my website platform I called to see what options I had because I was not currently using the website; but I wanted to keep it for future use Their customer service agent suggested a cheaper platform ($for years), but said I had to move all my information over The agent suggested I go month-to-month on the old platform until I got my data moved over; but he also advised not to use their auto renew function because it would auto renew for years, not month-to-month (This little glitch in their system will subsequently cost me dearly.) He set up an appointment for several days later to help me move my website over to their new platform He never called I had no way to contact him directly So, I paid someone else to help me and he could never find my website on the old platform to move it over
I now need the website and called in to get assistance moving my data over I was told the account was canceled after month and the website was deleted GONE I forgot that I was advised not to put it on auto-renewal and assumed it was on auto-renewal Okay, I accept responsibility for all that, even though the agent is also at fault for not calling me on the scheduled appointment I asked for a refund of the $because I no longer needed the platform They said no refunds after days and it was beyond days I asked for contact info for someone I could escalate my complaint to and they said no $is a rounding error on any given day for a company the size of GoDaddy and this is the way they treat a loyal customer who's paid them thousands of dollars over the years? I'm now out $that I paid the initial website designer, $I paid for a platform that I have no use for now, and the dozens of hours I spent building my website AND, now I have to decide if I'm going to pay someone another $to rebuild my website I will never give them my business again Buyer beware!
Go-Daddy has been hosting my web site since February When renewal came up in February I had the option of the Business Web Site Builder or the Standard Web Site Builder I elected go with the Standard Web Site Builder Here it is months later, I get a call from Go-Daddy telling me my web site has been down for monthsThey proceed to allow as how the deleted my web site and they only keep copies for days So, all of the the work I spent developing my web site is gone
My domain name was due for renewal, however the credit card I had on file was no longer validWhen I received the renewal email I went online to add my new credit card info and was billed by godaddySince that date my website has still been inaccessibleI called in to Godaddy and was advised by customer service rep Bill that once to renewal fails billing the DNS must be resetI asked if this was the case shouldn't it state that in the billing renewal email or in a confirmation email once payment has been madeThere was no indication that I needed to call or update the DNS in any communications from GodaddyI asked to speak to a supervisor since Bill was unable to assist meI was left on hold for minutesI spoke to Ashley who was advised by Bill that I paid my renewal two weeks late, which was not the case, it was actually paid two days after the renewal was dueMy business website has now been down for two weeks.I have now been on the phone for minutes with no resolution
Got scammed into their Buy Domain serviceChatted with customer support who told me I will get a domain on May Turned out to be a complete lieThey did absolutely nothing and still charged a feeContacted customer service twice - no reply

In July I had extensive phone conversations about my website needs with GoDaddyI was told when giving specific examples of websites that I would like to model mine on that a "Simple Site" would fit the bill
It became apparent after the building of the site happened that there was no way this site would ever be any thing I could put in front of my customers and all the things that were missing I was told that I could "add later with their website builder"I hired GoDaddy because I did not want to spend the time building a websiteThe site did not cover the majority of items that I requested and was simply a plug and play template that looked amateur at best
Every time I tried to ask about missing pieces, I was just advised I needed to buy more servicesIt was clearly an original promise of things they could not deliver, followed with a request for me to buy further productsI was advised today that there is no way to get any refund on the site or the prepaid hosting and t
I spent several days creating a website for my company and Godaddy deleted all the infomation on the website without contacting me correctlyAfter being a loyal customer for almost years they could give a crap to take care of their long term customers with multiple sites and giving hem way more money than most others
Calling GoDaddy for help with a product you bought from them? Be prepared for them to say "you need to call x for that, it has nothing to do with us" when, if fact, the issue almost always lies with themThey talked me into upgrading to another email product for me company because could not get my current email system to work properlyThey lied about the upgrade as wellThey told me the upgraded program come with x, y and z - it came with nothing! Now they are nickel and dimeing me for everything!
All GoDaddy does is pass the buck and lie pass the buck and lieIf you read all of these reviews and still buy a GoDaddy product you will get what you deserve!
Godaddy.com will not allow me to transfer my domain to another provider and refuses to cancel all recurring billing Godaddy.com has willfully violated the Texas Deceptive Business Trade Practices Act, by doing so, as their website clearly states they are sending me the authorization code, but the code is never received When calling customer service, they refuse to provide the code and are willing participants in godaddy.com unlawful activity
I have been a Go Daddy customer for years and have paid the company thousands of dollars each year for domain names, websites and other services the company offersFor years and months it has been a great relationship as a VIP clientThat is until the last two months when GoDaddy began fat shaming me on an almost daily basis with its suggested domainsExamples (my first name)heavy (my last name).com; (my first name)heavy(myfirstname)(my last name).com (as well as .us)
I reported this to Go Daddy, including my VIP Contact Brian R*** and several others in the VIP departmentAt first they blamed it on an algorithm that purportedly suggest names based on other domains you ownNeither I nor my company own names that contain the word heavy, fat, obese, diet or anything like that,
The content of one website uses the word "heavy" as an adjective to discuss the merits of heavy appetizers vs a sit down dinner for a future eventSo in order to have got the word heavy Go Daddy would have had to use Artificial Intelligence to scan the content of websites (words and pictures, meta tags) , not just domain names owned by GoDaddy customersHad this been a one off occurrence, I probably wouldn't bother writing this, but this is now something that has been happening just about every day for the last two monthsIt's totally ridiculousIf I have multiple websites and hundreds and hundreds of domains, why such a concentration with my name and heavy?
Whether or not this is an ethical practice on behalf of GoDaddy or within its terms of service agreement, the development may affect others so I am making a good faith effort to get the word out here and on other complaint sitesGo Daddy's reps were informed that this was coming, because they lack the sensitivity, willingness or apparent authority to stop this oppressive shaming from occurring on an almost daily basisPreferred solution: They know who I amGet it to stop

I have had Godaddy for my email address and server for over a decade I was originally on an unlimited email plan, which included many other amenities with a Costco package Little by little they amenities went away I was then told I could no longer keep my professional website Also, once I changed my website, nothing would be saved I changed my site, only to be told later that was for sales purposes and I did not have to do that This happened twice
Then I was also informed that I no longer had a package with unlimited emails since āIā changed my website, I was no longer grandfathered in and I had to pay extra for MB of storage During the decade where I used my Godaddy email address for absolutely everything, including legal, and personal as well as business, I re-created my website again and purchased additional storage making it 2000MB
Within approximately one month of the upgrade to
I received a charge for $40+ during the end of August for what they call "private registration"I called the customer service number to tell them I never wanted this productThey said I signed up for it (which I never have before)I told them that I don't want it and I want a refundThey said I couldn't have a refund because I was beyond days and to cancel it they would have to send me the linkI received the link and followed the instructionsHowever when I tried to do what the link told me to do it said that I never enabled the private registration and I would have to call customer supportUgh! So I called customer support back and sat in a queueI finally hung upI also tried the online chat and no one ever signed on with meI'll have to start doing business with another companyI have been completely scammed and I have no way to cancel this thing that they said would automatically renew every year!

Thank you for chatting with us! How may I help you today?

1:am
hello ***
I still have the email problem
and now it's starting to cost me money
1:am
please let me know what to do to solve it once and for all
***
I'm sorry to hear thatWhat is the email address in question?
*** ***
anything @welikewifi.com
Based on your current MX record settings, we determined that your email is currently set up to work with a different providerYou cannot manage third party email accounts from the Workspace Control Center
***
Ok, let me take a look at the account
I am showing per the notes from earlier today that SRV records needed to be removed in order to fix this issueI am showing that was done but that can take up to to hours to take effect
*** ***
sure
then explain this please:
why hours ago I could send email from these accounts but not receive it
and now I am back to not sending nor receiving?
***
That could be due to propagation as during that time DNS is hitting different servers across the world at any given point in timeOnce it has fully propagated it would be expected to work correctly at all times
*** ***
right
so through no fault of my own
I lost email today at 10.30am local time
and the official answer is that I may recover it sometime in the next two days, correct?
***
If an email does not reach the server there would not be a way to recover it after the factIt would have to be resent after it is working correctly
*** ***
sure
so, again:
through no fault of my own
I lost email today at 10.30am local time
and the official answer is that I may recover it sometime in the next two days, correct?
***
Yes, that's correct
*** ***
understood
now let's enter the compensation part of the conversation
because if this is not my doing
then it is the supplier's
which would be godaddy
please let me know what happens now
***
You are welcome to check with us after your email is working to see if we are able to help you out in any way but that is not something we are able to review until after the fact
*** ***
let's assume we are at that point already
what happens with this loss day of business due towhoknowswhatreason?
***
Well we would need to review the account after your email is working again to be able to review whether we are able to assist with any compensationSince it can take to hours to propagate I would recommend to contact us after that time so we can look at the account at that time
*** ***
right
seems we have a problem of communication
let's say the email is working
let's say everything is superb
I am so happy
but what happens with compensating the loss of business, time of my colleagues, and so on that was caused by this, again, no fault of a humble paying customer
if this is a question you cannot answer, by all means waste no time and put me in touch with whomever can
but I think the question is rather simple and answerable
there is no need to deflect to a future moment in time
and hope I will forget the whole thing while I get busy with coping with my losses
***
I have reviewed this with my supervisor and our policy is that you would need to contact us again once everything is up and runningI can't guarantee that we would be able to provide compensation but there are certain things that would need to be looked into once the email is working again based on how long it was down and what the specific cause was
*** ***
aha, so you mean to say that the cause is not yet clear?
I thought it was
***
I am not stating that, however I was not the one who assisted you when the cause was determined so additional review may need to be done at that time
*** ***
great
I was under the impression that the cause was clearSeems that was not logged as suchCould you please then make perfectly clear to me what the cause and culpable of this issue is? In no uncertain term, pleaseIt's important for the Revdex.com
I was trying to consolidate two accounts into oneThe current setup didn't allow for the renewal of my websiteI was constantly given the run around about eliminating two step verification for the changesIt was well documented that I had access to these accounts and yet tech support was useless
The domain expired and I lost the websiteI paid for the accounts to become current, including an $"to push a button key"Then I find out that they deleted my web pagesI pursued a chat to correct this issueI was informed that "it's gone, can't get it back"After complaining about all the $ I've spent on this, like magic, they inform me that it can be retrieve for $"to push a button"They're costing me $ in lost business
Then I find out my email isn't receiving emailsEvery time I try solving this problem, I'm on hold 20-minthen speak with a CS repGo through the problemThey inform me there is nothing wrong, so I need to speak with tech supportSince I run a biz, time to sit on the phone is a problem and sitting on hold for another 20-minwon't work
It's Sunday and the wait is minto do the same thing all over againI'm not optimisticI would highly recommend that business owners stay away from GoDaddy
Disgusted to say the least - I am about to renew a domain that I have had with Godaddy since 2001, How the hell do you go from 8.99$ to $70??? Not to mention the rip off on email address rates and poor poor poor customer service, that cannot understand one simple questionLooking to take my business elsewhere IMMEDIATELYenough is enough
I get several upsell calls a week and keep telling them to stopToday I just had to pay $for a expired Domain because the credit card on file expired and it did not auto renewThey never mentioned that in any upsell callsHow is it legal for them to call is constantly to sell things but allow us to lapse on renewing and collect an $That is a complete scamThey call it an ICANN fee and said it all goes to ICANNIt does not and that is a lieICANN does Not charge $The rep swore up and down they give 100% to ICANN then offered to cut the fee in half of I paid it right thenScam! I will be filing with the Revdex.comTheir terms of service does mention fees but they are lying saying it goes to ICANN and purposely misleading customers into faulting not telling them about payment issuesThey send you and email but they send you so much spam every day on purpose so it gets buried
During initial conversations with their "Sales" team, GoDaddy really portrayed themselves as a company that had a vested interest in being a true 'partner' on the backend (website, hosting, design, etc)However, once I forked over more than $3K, that service level came to an abrupt endFirst, I had issues with the design teamThe communication was lacking, and when I wasn't happy with the final design/build, I was told I would be billed for any changesThe first draft was completely amateurish, and if you aren't literal and specific in your reply as to what you would like different the first feedback you provide, expect to pay more for them to make it rightNow my MAIN issue (the one that is costing my new business daily)I had GoDaddy activate my site weeks agoAfter MANY calls in to their "support" team, the most very basic and simple function of my website is STILL NOT WORKINGThe entire point of my website is so that customers can request to receive a quote for our serviceAll of these request are ending up in my spam folder (if they are received at all) and show up as "spoofing" I have literally spoken to ten different people there, and they WILL divert you from being able to speak to a managerTrust, I ask every timeAnd every time am told that "while I am waiting for a mgr to get off the phone, they will take a look at my issue"Of the ten reps Ive spoken to, by the end of the conversations, I have received ten different answers as to what my technical issue is, and that lo and behold, they have found the solution, and all I have to do is give it hours to take effectGuess what? The basic email function that they paired to my Outlook Office 365, STILL isn't working properlyAnd now when I ask for assistance, they provide me links to "How To" websitesYes, they are now suggesting ways that I am supposed to try and fix the website's functionality (that THEY were paid to design) on my own, even though they have never provided one that worked as it was supposed to since signing up with themThis is what I gave them a good amount of money for! GoDaddy IS NOT fulfilling their end of the agreement I entered into with them
GoDaddy is refusing to honor a payment I made to renew my two year domain registrationThe payment was made online on February but each day after making the payment I was notified that my registration and privacy renewal was still in my basket waiting to be completedI tried online again on Febbut could get confirmation that the payment had gone throughI phoned GoDaddy and explained this was my 2nd attempt to process the payment on their websiteThe Rep said he could fix the problem, he returned to the phone and said he had got the payment to go throughAfter he hung up I decided to check my bank transactions on lineI found the February 6th payment did in fact go through
I called GoDaddy back within minutesThey informed me two more payments had come through for a total of three payments and they would only return one of themI spoke with their supervisor and pleaded with them to correct the mistake and return the two payments that they pushed through minu
Godaddy participate in "front-running" shady business practice by frontrunning expired domains
I was looking at apkey.com domain name that is expired to bidToday is Feb 12, which is not the end date of its expired auction
Then, today, I see that, expired domain auction abruptly ended and disappeared before his very own eyes
I have evidence that I uploaded via video recordings today to prove itEvidence video is here:
