I have been a Go Daddy customer for more than years now and I am very very unsatisfied with their policies and their serviceThey are always looking to make money in every way possibleTheir policies are very unfriendly to small business and they should be ashamed of itOne recent example I give is about my email hosting plan
I was a subscriber or their old 'Website Builder' for almost years now, however limiting, expensive and frustrating it was, I was putting up with it as I am a one man small business and with my limited time and resources, I never felt that it was worth my time to spend more time criticizing itSo, when they offered their new "Go Central" plan, I signed up and it seemed way more flexible and had much better UIWhile switching, the rep never told me that the email plan I had was linked to my old website builder plan and that switching from that would make me lose my access to my business email and email address itself
Thankfully, I called up again and the new rep clarified this and made me sign up for another stand alone email plan for $for years - basic email etc - I wasnt too happy as I had free email before and now I was paying for this separately as wellI still went ahead as no business can survive without an email - so you Go Daddy got me here - v clever
If this wasnt enough, I called them again with an unrelated issue when I was told that the email plan I had just bought was an old email server that they were planning to retire and in order to migrate to their new server, I would have to pay another $t keep my emailsI mean - "Seriously" !!!!! Since when did consumers start paying for email server migrations ?? Isnt this supposed to be something the business is supposed to provide the consumer as an ongoing infrastructure support??
I asked the rep as to what would have happened if I had not called up and known about this - how would you have charged me and he answered that it would have showed up as a pending balance in my next statementSo I pay for their new website builder, I pay for basic email and I also pay for your server migrationsI asked if all existing customers on email plans have been consented to this migration payment and he said that they have to agree to this while accepting terms and conditionsie it is all hidden in the fine print that no one ever reads and here is the golden opportunities that GoDaddy looks forShame on You
You are a total rip off - taking advantage of busy small businesses who are trying to survive and stay afloat already
BTW - GoDaddy always offers discounts on new services ONLY and never on renewals - once you sign up for one, you are screwed because when that comes up for renewal, the next time around - you will never see a discount again
Stop your advertising Go Daddy- you are not small business friendlyUtterly and deeply regret my decision to having bought the domain and the web hosting plan with you
They billed my account without proper authorization for a renewal for the next calendar year months from the time of renewalOn top of this the service was worthlessI made numerous calls to tech support which could not help me with my issues and the issues would change based on who I was speaking withI should have listened to the online reviews and not signed up in the first place with Godaddy

Hello,
Close to six weeks ago I called regarding renewing my hosting
I was told that my main domain and the hosting account renew at different dates and that the representative can merge those dates together to make it easier for meI agreed to it
I was put on hold and it took a while to make those changes
When this was done, the time came to payI was told my total is almost $
I was confused as I've never paid that much, so I figured this is in advance
I was told that's because we've merged those dates and I have to pay in advance, and that the representative is ready for that credit card number whenever I amI was feeling pressure because he told me he'd "help me out," then he took all this time to set it up, then he asked for the card number and there was silence on the phone
I asked about the price per month and whether there's any chance I could pay monthlyI was told this one has to be in advance
I knew I agreed to merge the datesI
Upon using Godaddy's app for my website domain name renewal, the app caused a pop up that had a confirm payment button right where I was clicking to adjust the length of renewal termI tried to cancel this renewal, and received a confirmation that the renewal was canceledI then purchased the correct length of time of year on each domain and resubmitted my renewalThe prior renewal was never canceled and I was billed twiceUpon discussing this with their customer service, I was told they would only cancel everything and give me a full refund, but that I would lose my domain namesAll I wanted was to cancel the accidental payment caused by their app's pop up payment button, but they were unwilling to cancel the extra renewal onlyI would like the $additional charge refunded and my year domain name renewal to remain for the $purchase
We removed our Credit Card from GoDaddys auto-renewal to host our site over one year ago and deleted our non-profits credit card information from their service GoDaddy charged us without our approval or knowledge on September 11, $
Being a small non-profit, it took us time to organize our IT personnel, webdesigner, and finance coordinator to figure out this charge was not authorized and not part of our hosting with GODaddy When we reached out to GODaddy, they confirmed we had been removed from auto-renewal
They also confirmed this charge was for emails they were storing for us We never set up or approved an email account with GoDaddy, and customer service claimed this was a promotion and out account was set up with a default to receive emails We were never
even informed we had an email, so our IT personnel and webdesigner went in to manually retrieve all these lost emails we had no knowledge off When we asked customer service how they got our Credit Card
GoDaddy retains credit card / personal information after purchases, and do not have the authorization to do so When speaking with the representatives of the company, it is stated that credit card information is needed to be maintained in order to renew the domains / accounts / services When completing purchases, there is an option that allows for "auto-renewal" (yes / no) When selected "No" there is no other indications that information is retained for any reason whatsoever, no statement that financial information is retained, nothing in writing Searching www.godaddy.com/legal, when directed by company representatives to read in order to justify this companies' actions, fail to direct to exact title, section, paragraph, subparagraph to which it states that they are retaining financial information in order to maintain 'their records'
