I was mislead to believe that I needed a specialized hosting plan to provide premium, uninterrupted, reliable service to host a e-commmerce website which was already running on a different hosting plan that I had been using for years Upon purchasing said plan, it was more unreliable than the original plan - which I had to mutually maintain This additional hosting plan also included other required features to operate, such as an SSL, of course at an additional cost to me The websites crashed on numerous occasions and when I contacted customer service I was told that it was hardware issues and that I must wait for 24-hours These continued outages and slow, lagging access times cost me income, customers and left a negative image for having an unreliable product At significant expense, and a decade of loyalty, I was left no alternative but to move my services to a competitor The move was troublesome and extensive, but ultimately unavoidable with the poor and unreliable s
I purchased my website and e-mail essentials through godaddy, and it has been one of the most regretful decisions of my business experiences/purchases so farIn the past month I have spoken via chat at least or times with someone and each time they seem to not understand or comprehend basic questions or statementsIn my most recent experience, I chatted with someone last week to add e-mail encryption to my email accountHe told me that I would receive an email confirmation to set it up in the coming dayA few hours came and went- no emailI opened another chat and the person assured me the email was comingFast forward to a week later (today)- no email, no encryption, but of course they were happy to have already charged meI wrote in and was told that the repupgraded my email account to business premium, but did not add encryptionI told them this was an UNAUTHORIZED SALE since I was not made aware that was what I was being charged for or added to my accountIt was stated several times by me that all I needed to do to my account was add encrypted email capabilitiesThe rep somehow took this to add a feature and charge me for $for something I did not need and was not discussed The reptoday said there was nothing he could do so we chatted with a managerAfter hours of going back and forth, we finally were told they could work on fixing this and get me back to email essentials but would have to basically delete all my emails and re-set up my accountWe backed up the emails but now, while we wait for them and Microsoft to sort out account stuff, my new business email, which has several emails out and waiting for emails back, is just sitting there and cannot receive nor send emails to customers- the MAIN way that I make money and am able to run a competent and efficient business Representatives kept telling us that they were sorry but did not seem to understand or comprehend how much it affects me as a business owner and, well, to spend hours of time talking to a team that really seemed to have an excuse for everything and was not customer-service oriented, it really ruined my way As soon as my subscription ends, I will be transferring to a different companyI had heard reviews on godaddy before and how terrible it was to work with, but until I had an issues that was THEIR fault that cost me time, stress, and essentially money, I had no ideaI do not recommend them whatsoever
We removed our Credit Card from GoDaddys auto-renewal to host our site over one year ago and deleted our non-profits credit card information from their service GoDaddy charged us without our approval or knowledge on September 11, $ Being a small non-profit, it took us time to organize our IT personnel, webdesigner, and finance coordinator to figure out this charge was not authorized and not part of our hosting with GODaddy When we reached out to GODaddy, they confirmed we had been removed from auto-renewal They also confirmed this charge was for emails they were storing for us We never set up or approved an email account with GoDaddy, and customer service claimed this was a promotion and out account was set up with a default to receive emails We were never even informed we had an email, so our IT personnel and webdesigner went in to manually retrieve all these lost emails we had no knowledge off When we asked customer service how they got our Credit Card
