I searched for a domain using GoDaddy, a complete made up word, and ALL of the domains were available (.com/ .ca/ .ore/ .net etc) for the usual $a yearThen when I went back to purchase the domain, they were ALL goneDid a quick WHOIS search and found out GoDaddy was the one who bought the names! How is that legal???
So then I paid $just to be able to contact them and make an offer (of which it was recommended I offer $350-$3500)
Disgusting slimy business practice
I had NO IDEA GoDaddy was like this, and there are thousands of similar complaints online
Why are they rated A+ on Revdex.com???
GoDaddy has 95% NEGATIVE customer reviews on Revdex.com
Anyways definitely not paying them for the domain, they can keep it
Stay away from them
I signed up to buy a domain years ago and had no problem for many years Last fall, I was locked out of my account and the company has been taking money out of my bank account claiming I signed up for automatic renewal which I did not Anyway, they have changed some of my profile information so that I cannot log in and have been giving me the runaround about getting on so I can see what is going on The customer service repsare not helping at all
9/29/5:20PM Cameron, SupervisorCameron started the call by telling me that there is nobody to file complaint to; that Go Daddy does ‘not’ have a complaint process and he was my only source Cameron told me that he was there to field all complaints and would speak to every rep who assisted me in the process He then continued by asking me to explain the issues/situation and I did I mentioned the conversations as per the logged calls and that the first two women and the one I just spoke with were very helpful and knowledgeable but on the other calls the reps continued to assure me the folders were going to be restored and that everything would be fine yet none took the time until Emily to actually discover that they were no longer on the server I also explained that on one of the calls (though not logged I believe it was Josh or Alic) the rep continued to insist that someone had to be stealing my password at each new reset and deleting my folders.) I explained as on every ca
GoDaddy auctions is part of "cheating"For paying $you will fight with automatic bidding system for last auction hourIf you see auction for example for 10$ - in last hour automatic bidding will play with you in game you can win only if ready to spend thousands dollars for domain(I assume there is possibility to put max amount)
Do not spend your time trying to winand do not spend money for membership - it's just waste of money
Last year I purchased domains with go daddy web services and enabled two step verification for security since then I got rid of that phone number and no longer have it(Because of security reasons) I called to asked them to change the number so I can access my account on 7/20/The only way to remove the two step verification OR change the phone number is to disable the whole two step verificationThey said that I could not disable it over the phone or updated it and asked me to go to a site and upload my id, and fill out a form requesting it which I didI got a reply days later saying I didn't fill it out with the right emailThen I replied using the right email, then days later they said they replied to me which I never gotSince then I have the same form to the same email multiple times and got a response on 8/(one month later) saying they replied to another emailMy domains are expiring in November and I need to seek them or renew the, so they are not lost and
I have a very small organic lawn service businessI have just a few customersGoDaddy has precipitated the failure of my businessI made my payment for services in February and for the 2nd year in a row, GoDaddy has taken down my website without any notification
Upon calling and talking GoDaddy Rep Danielle, I was told that the website was taken down because the domain had expired, but it was my lucky day because they could recover it That is pure BSThe domain has always been set for auto-renewalGoDaddy sets all purchases for all of their products and services for auto-renewalMy lucky day? GoDaddy has evidently lost their way for they consistently come across as a shady operationAs if that wasn't enough, GoDaddy had the temerity to try and charge me an $recovery fee for the domain name that was set for auto-renewalShady Shady!
I have several domain names and hosting services with GoDaddyOne account that I have not even used (***) went into repayment in FebruaryMultiples times prior to the one year auto-renew I tried to cancelI was called by GoDaddy during business hours, which I previously indicated I could not answer out of fear of jeapordizing my jobI called back immediately - only to reach an unknown numberI tried to login to my account, but because they have been merged in the past, this did not work (a repeat problem I have had them address in the past)They called today (4/12), I told them, but they refused to assistI spoke to a service representative, Matt, and his supervisor, DonnieMatt quoted me the day cancellation policy, which I stated was irrelevant due to my attempts and that they are charging me for one year of a product I do not useDonnie did the same and was quite rude, turned off auto renew as if this was a favor, and ultimately he hung up on me (purposel
On 2/I saw on my credit card account (ends in 001) a charge for $from Godaddy dated 1/I called the GoDaddy Customer Service number and was told that this was a monthly maintenance fee for a web site called *** I have never heard of this website beforeI was further told that this was an ongoing maintenance fee that had been charged to my credit card account since August of I disputed thatRather than give me an immediate credit the representative told me to call my credit card company American ExpressI did, asked them to dispute the charge, and had them verify that no other monthly charges have been billed to my accountThe representative said he could only refund the $within two days of a billing; frankly, this refund policy, particularly when the charge is erroneous, is outrageousMost people, including me, do not look at their credit card on a daily basisI believe GoDaddy at best is guilty of poor customer service by providing erroneous
I have been using GoDaddy internet services since I use my website to sell various items on the internet I was wondering why I hadn't had any sales since November and contacted GoDaddy Support They told me that my email capability had been disabled (which prevents me from getting sales) They didn't know why or when it was disabled I asked them to enable it again because it was affecting my business They said I had to purchase a program to check for viruses on my website and that I should purchase their SSL product When I told them 'No', they said I could download my website, run my own virus check, then reload my website after correcting any problems After several hours doing this, no problems were found I called them back, but they said I had to add special Captcha code to all my web pages They could provide no information on how to do so and there was NO evidence that this was causing any problems I have been working for over a month to comply with the
Unless you purchase their “privacy” product which they charge you monthly product for they will sell your email to everyone, I literally have my email, and cell phone flooded overnight with “offers” sales pitches, was even included in some ridiculous chain email who no person knew who the other people wereMany of the sites with “offers” when trying to unsubscribe showed a MalWare warningGreat job strong arming your customersHorrible customer service and protections, the chat person told me I have to but their privacy for it to take place in 2-weeksNo where on the site does it say anything about this and further more, this was after my 3rd domain purchase in over years, this purchase is the only one I had this problem with so they have certainly changed the way they do business
Hi,
I was charged an $redemption fee for a site that I did not receive any notices regarding it expiring Once someone notified me that my site was down, I went to renew right away I think it is inappropriate to not send renewal notices I had happily signed up for years, but without a clue as to it expiring, I had no reason to revisit the site after years
Once it expired, I was unable to transfer out the site to another host without paying the redemption fee I absolutely do not mind keeping it at GoDaddy, but it felt like my domain was held hostage
I have never run into a company that is as unapologetic and incompetent as GoDaddy The platform is horrible, there are repeated problems and they even erased my former email service prior to the 14-day deadline They take no accountability for their mistakes and I wish to see these issues escalated I am under contract with them until February but this needs to be fixed for other customers as they have a horrible reputation
I purchased a website through GoDaddy in September for a new business I startedIt was a year "contract" Unfortunately, months later, roughly April/May I closed down my business I contacted GoDaddy then to close out the account and asked to take down the website since the business is no longer open I was told it was a year contract and that I could use it for something else At the time I told them I would consider that It has now been months after the business closed and I decided I for sure do not need the website for any reason I called and asked GoDaddy to for sure take down the website and also totally close everything out That there is no way it would be used for anything They told me they could not They don't issue refunds after days after the item is purchased I told them it doesn't make since, since the business is closed that I couldn't get a prorated refund of the amount that was paid for the website It doesn't make since to be pay
I contacted Godaddy and they agreed to transfer my site from FatcowI agree to the priceThey increased the costs transferred my site from an older version resulting in me having to update the siteIt has been over weeks, continual problems, my site is still not up
GoDaddy is the worst platformI am trying to update a website for a clientGoDaddy knowingly admits they have servers running php v4, and that their virtual environment is open to other security risks like DDoS attacks, hacks, SQL injections, etc., but they refuse to do anything about itIf you want to run a simple Wordpress site, or other CMS system, it will not function properly with anything lower than php if you plan to have any current functionality from current versions of WP itself, themes or plugins
Additionally, refusing to update their server environments leaves every client on these servers in jeopardyThey do this because they want the customer to upgrade to a more expensive VPS plan, which simply isn't needed for a small websiteThey are a total scam and they will happily put anyone's website at risk for their own financial gain
Never ever go with GoDaddy if you want a secure virtual environment
My domain showed as scheduled to renew on 06/14/ On 06/15/17, I checked and found that the charge had not processed and the domain still showed as having not been renewed To avoid a lapse in coverage I checked out using my shopping cart, which also showed the renewal as still due The charge then posted the following day, so I was charged twice for the same renewal The service rep who I initially spoke to was extremely reluctant to transfer me to a supervisor when asked The Supervisor, Chris in Billing, also refused to do anything to rectify the situation GoDaddy has lost a customer for a lifetime, as well as hosting, over a $renewal This is a predatory billing practice, and abysmal customer service
My wife owns Pope Counseling Center (***) and we began using GoDaddy's SEO services in October of After speaking with the sales rep, a website evaluation and discussing our goals we decided to move forward with a month campaign to reach our goals for specified key wordsAfter the onboarding phase I received access to the SEO dashboard and realized only keywords were included and of them were wrongI called Godaddy and informed them of this and also advised there were keywords missing that we discussedAll of my keywords targeted surrounding areas, ie counseling in city, state, couples counseling, city, state, etcThey said they would correct this and that never happenedFor the one keyword that was listed correctly, my ranking dropped 40+ spots and when questioned, Godaddy said that is unusualAlso, in the SEO dashboard, there were link building directories provided showing work done, but I have never showed up in any of these directo

I have been a customer with GoDaddy for many, many years In September my hosting contract was due for renewal Talked to customer service on the phone about various offers and solutions for my needsThere were two optionsOne, with a cheaper price, a longer term and NO credit if I needed to cancel earlier The other, was more expensive, a one year contract with the option of a credit if needed to cancel I was specifically told that I do get a credit if I need to cancel during the contract year (and not just within days) When shortly after, I came into a situation and needed to cancel my hosting with GoDaddy after several years of having the hosting, I was told there is no credit!
