I attempted to cancel my web hosting product with godaddy, a service costing $179/yearInstead of cancelling I unintentionally 'deleted' the product from my accountI thought the matter closed and was expecting a refundHowever, when no refund occurred I called to inquire whyAt the time of my call it was days after the point at which I 'deleted' the product from my accountI was told that the refund return policy is days and that I should have cancelled the product and not deleted itI was told it is my fault that I 'deleted' the product that I purchasedNothing in their documentation including any email received indicated this situation to me, otherwise I would have called prior to the day refund deadlineI do not expect to have to pay for a service that, according to the customer service representative, I "paid for and then threw in the trash"Rather, their policies should be more forthcoming in the difference and be more customer friendly
I don't believe I've ever established a relationship with GoDaddyYet, somehow, they've managed to pull over $in service fees via auto-debit to my accountI've tried to resolve this matter through my bank but my bank alleges that GoDaddy submitted documentation to prove their claimI've since requested all documentation so that I can review these myself
GoDaddy has violated my rights (below) as defined by the CFPB (see cfpb.gov):
Federal law provides certain protections for recurring automatic debit paymentsYou have the right to stop a company from taking automatic payments from your account, even if you previously allowed them(Immediately after discovering the first unexpected charge from GoDaddy back in February 2018, I sent a letter in which I revoked all automatic payments and demanded the cancelation and closure of any and all accounts with my name
Furthermore, per the CFPB: The company must give you a copy of the terms of your payment authorizationThe payme
GoDaddy sold me a web hosting plan that included SSH accessI was unable to access SSH, ever -- The support staff at GoDaddy told me that it was due to an erroneous blacklisting of my IP address on their part that disallowed SSH accessWhen asked if there was anything that could be done to fix the issue, the customer service reptold me noWhen cancelling my plan, I asked the billing customer service rep for a refund as I was never delivered the SSH access that my plan includedI am still without a refund and am in the process of moving to Bluehost
I order a domain name from godaddy.com and as soon as I did I started receiving calls at all hours of the the night and day people wanting to build me a web site I received calls at 3am in the morning waking me up out of bed also in a days time I would receive almost calls being yelled at because I refuse to let them build me a website a few of them told me to go *** myself because I wouldn't give them my credit card info
I cancelled a service at the end of last year which included free services within it (I just found out about the free services)When I cancelled the primary service, the free services then became paid services without my knowledgeSince January I have been paying $for a service I was unaware ofWhen I see the subject in the email each month, I just assumed I was getting billed for another domain of mine because I have manyThis morning I was reviewing emails and happened to open the latest bill and discovered I was being billed for service I was unaware ofI attempted to resolve the issue through GoDaddy online chat and then called inWhen I called in, the representative told me there was no one in the multi-million dollar company who could reverse the charges or even apply a credit against my accountI have been a customer for many years and have not had an issue until nowI would like to stay with the company and continue to do business if we can resolve this issue
godaddy updating their server to new server, and screwing up others businesshow come godaddy.com working and not working their hosting customer I have called time in last days and all they do is bouncing call around and kept making new promise to get rid of my call my website is down for over days and they are completely helpless they said they will email me back about update status in hrs , which they never didthey don't have any such thing to give call back to customerwhen I request supervisor , all I heard all the time is they were busy now and will call when they free and never received single call backworst hosting company with zero customer supportsound like they did something which they don't know what to do to fix their own issue
GoDaddy is the worst platformI am trying to update a website for a clientGoDaddy knowingly admits they have servers running php v4, and that their virtual environment is open to other security risks like DDoS attacks, hacks, SQL injections, etc., but they refuse to do anything about itIf you want to run a simple Wordpress site, or other CMS system, it will not function properly with anything lower than php if you plan to have any current functionality from current versions of WP itself, themes or plugins
Additionally, refusing to update their server environments leaves every client on these servers in jeopardyThey do this because they want the customer to upgrade to a more expensive VPS plan, which simply isn't needed for a small websiteThey are a total scam and they will happily put anyone's website at risk for their own financial gain
Never ever go with GoDaddy if you want a secure virtual environment
We bought the domain name avatarcarwash.com and paid for years from GoDaddyOur business was under construction and got delayed so we did not launch the website at the time but kept the domain nameWhen we were ready to launch the website, we tried to login to our account and we couldn’tWe called GoDaddy, and after several hours on hold, the customer support person was very rude and hung up on usAfter making several attempts calling, we didn’t get anywhereWe asked for a supervisor, but they didn’t come on the phoneThey told us that we didn’t own the domain nameWe told them that we never canceled the domain name and asked them to provide us with the cancellation requestThey refused to give us any proofThey asked us to pay $for them to go and bid for the domain name which we ownWe want our domain name, as we have paid for it for years
Don't use them made the mistake of having them do a few simple changes to a wordpress site and like magic all the work I previous did has vanished Call support is useless, I am in the process of moving all domains away from them, Slow to respond but quick to charge your cardAll talk and no action A+ rating is a joke like the Revdex.com itself anything can be bought- I normally don't run out and write such a review but based on this level of incompetence and lack of attention this situation deserves public display
I received a renewal notice for my domain metaversus.com from GoDaddy stating it was PROTECTED and for year after the expiration dateWhen I tried to renew after the expiration date, my domain was already goneI fought with them for weeks on it, but they said it was not protected even though I had an email stating soI believe they are now trying to sell my domain back to me for $There is no indication that the owner has changed based on the whois recordsIt still is registered under my details for registration dateThis is extortion
Godaddy sent an auto renewal email telling me that it was going to be done on a certain date for domain hostingIn the email it said that the rate is a yearI expected the cost of the renewal to be plus tax if applicableThe next email was that the renewal was for years when I was only expecting a year renewalNo where in the renewal notice does it reflect what the actual renewal isThe email is purposely vagueGodaddy is refusing to change the renewal to yearThey said they can't change it till years from nowI since cancelled auto renewal and overpaid for a product that I did not know was going to auto renew for yearsI believe GoDaddy auto renews people for longer periods without telling themMy last auto renew was in 3/for year and previous to that was in when I started the service with GoDaddy
I have been trying to close my account for about a year nowI setup two factor authentication using google authenticator but I no longer have that phone so I cannot authenticate with my deviceI can't close my account and the helpdesk cannot help me
My domain showed as scheduled to renew on 06/14/ On 06/15/17, I checked and found that the charge had not processed and the domain still showed as having not been renewed To avoid a lapse in coverage I checked out using my shopping cart, which also showed the renewal as still due The charge then posted the following day, so I was charged twice for the same renewal The service rep who I initially spoke to was extremely reluctant to transfer me to a supervisor when asked The Supervisor, Chris in Billing, also refused to do anything to rectify the situation GoDaddy has lost a customer for a lifetime, as well as hosting, over a $renewal This is a predatory billing practice, and abysmal customer service
Go Daddy business strategies are unethical, whatever written on their website is not offeredThe terms and conditions are not explainedCustomer support people are unresponsive, vizramond l
I want some senior authority to resolve my issue

I signed up for a godaddy domain name on 9/2/to use for a business I had planned to startAfter several months, I realized this business was not one I wished to pursue and have not used the domain since then, around January At the time of purchase, it was not clear that auto-renewals would be set up for this product as it was the only payment option and typically auto-renewal is a separate selectionI also attempted at that time to remove credit card information on the account as I do not like to store my card information, but it appears that did not occurDue to the lack of clarity, I was not aware that I was set up for auto-renewal and my credit card was charged $on 9/2/17, which I only discovered due to late charges on this credit card as it had not been on my radar to monitor for new purchasesI called godaddy today, 11/20/17, to attempt to figure out why my credit card information would have been saved and I was told that the only way to remove a credit card fro
GoDaddy has totally disappointed me I have had an email account with them for years and have experienced a 239% increase in costs over that period That is, in my opinion, an unreasonable and ridiculous price increase And in addition, I am trying to downgrade my service due to the costs and they tell me that there can be no credit issued when I request the downgrade -- I am stuck with the current price for the remainder of the year, even if they complete the downgrade today I feel ripped off
This past weekend I contacted Go Daddy with the intent of heaving them host my website They asked if I would like an email associated with that website (***) I said yes as long as it would be forwarded to my primary email: *** This past Tuesday I contacted them again regarding this issue and they informed me that the person who originally did this did it wrong and it would have to corrected I contacted them on Wednesday and they told that this time it would work I checked this morning (April 29th) and it didn't work Each day when I turn on my computer Go Daddy has a pwindow asking me to setup my email account Today I did this and when I checked my emails all my folders, email addresses and messages were gone I contacted Go Daddy twice on Friday April 29th, the 1st time I spoke with Aland and teh second time with Joseph and both refused to lift a finger to help me They curtly informed me to go to Microsoft with this problem I
GoDaddy has an auto-renew policy that a website will auto-renew for the number of years that the site was originally registered forThey notify the customer days prior to an auto-renew about the yearly rate of renewalHowever, they do not notify the customer how many years it is set to auto-renew for, nor the total amount "to be charged" to the billThere is also nowhere on the the Account dashboard of the GoDaddy site where this information can be foundIn my case, I was notified on May 5th, that two sites would auto-renew at a rate of $16.99/yearI had not dealt with the details of these sites since and had no recollection about the fine print I signed in agreement of back thenMy understanding was that I would incur a charge for $for the two sites to renew one-year each, as I wished them toInstead, they renewed for years each, against my wishes, and with no way for me to change it or learn of it prior to being chargedI wanted the sites to be charged for
