I purchased a domain broker service from Go Daddy I have contacted them several times to get a status on the process They never reach out and only respond with limited information if I call first I have asked for the dates/times that they have reached out to the current owner of a domain They never respond with the requested information, only that hey have reached out and made no contact I feel that this service is a scam There should be documentation regarding when outreach has been made, how outreach was made, and the outcome There should be consistent and periodic outreach, keeping the customer informed on the status/progress As far as I'm concerned, no or limited outreach has been made No reasonable communication regarding the specific activity has been provided The customer service is extremely poor It's a way for Go Daddy to collect a fee and do nothing
Godaddy domain website consistently renews my subscription although I have not given permission for them to do so, but my real complaint is that they will not return my payment after I have asked them to delete my account and return "credits" They are scamming people
Please investigate Go Daddy
The company is offering free Mini Storage and Calendar to its customers and then it automatically charges for it again the next year -- it provides no notice of the product or the yearly cost at the time you order (if you order another product over the phone) and then it provides no notice of renewal the following year and the company does not send any billing statement (as it does with other products I was charged $ The customer service representative I spoke with told me it is "a product that I do not need" The company also give you the impression that it is vigilantly notifying you about every product renewal or expiration (reassuring consumers about their account status), only to omit to notify us on certain products that we will not detect because we have never ordered them the first place -- all so that you get charged unknowingly It is extremely dishonestIt's fraudulent
Go Daddy has annual Revenue of over $1Billion and states
I went to a domain name and it was for sale via Afternic / Godaddy I submitted the request a priceIt was an average domain and they wanted something like 30k for it Not at all close to what its worth I politely declined
Now I keep getting spammed by them I've replied 2x and never got a reply form them just more generic buy me emails
This makes me want to move all the domains and services off themIts kind of sleazy
I searched for a domain using GoDaddy, a complete made up word, and ALL of the domains were available (.com/ .ca/ .ore/ .net etc) for the usual $a yearThen when I went back to purchase the domain, they were ALL goneDid a quick WHOIS search and found out GoDaddy was the one who bought the names! How is that legal???
So then I paid $just to be able to contact them and make an offer (of which it was recommended I offer $350-$3500)
Disgusting slimy business practice
I had NO IDEA GoDaddy was like this, and there are thousands of similar complaints online
Why are they rated A+ on Revdex.com???
GoDaddy has 95% NEGATIVE customer reviews on Revdex.com
Anyways definitely not paying them for the domain, they can keep it
Stay away from them
We have aacquired a company and called godaddy to update their records about the acquisition and moved the account to the parent company with all the informationGodaddy charged the account for year renewal and was charged to the seller company without our consent either by email or phone, solely by their discretionWhen called they say as per initial term we have right to renew the same periodBut when questioned about us calling and informing Godaddy about the acquisition, they say it is our responsibility to check the account fequently for charges, These charges were charged to the seller company and we have no information for the sameThey say it is beyond days so we cannot refund the moneyits huge amount they have charged the account renewing all the services for year periodwhich we do not need it
Go Daddy auto renewed a website on Jan 28, 2017, that I had previously paid for but never used in years
I called today to cancel the site ownership and the recent renewal, to cancel payment for the website I never used
However, GoDaddy says they will not refund a prorated portion of my renewal of $30, because it's not within days of renewal date, however, it is within days, of which is AMPLE notice, in any business transaction
I received an email today from GoDaddy.com indicated I had been charged $for the following:
Website Builder Business - Renewal - Year -$
-Starter Email - Renewal - Year
I do not own a website, and I did not opt in for either of these servicesLast year, I was looking into buying a domain name, and they have a service to contact the domain name owner to see if they're willing to purchase it for a certain priceHere is the explanation:
https://www.godaddy.com/domains/domain-broker
Without my knowledge, they charged me $last year for their "services" even though I didn't purchase a domain name and there is no indication here that there is a fee involved
Now, a year later, they charged me for a website builder AND starter email for a website I don't own
Today, they refunded me the $but refused to refund me for the initial fee from a year agoI purchase many things online, and I have never been charged for services not explained or render
On, March 29, I paid for a month of "Online Store" service with GoDaddy.com for a websiteI cancelled the renewal of that service on April 19, My website was taken off the internet on April, 20, When I became aware of this, I asked GoDaddy.com for a refund of the remaining part of the monthI was told that would not be possible
I was charged for a renewal without my authorizationWhen I contacted their chat support they would not cancel my services without wasting my time for mins and then referring me to their phone supportI'm giving starts because the phone support was great, but the chat support was a zero
I have a website hosted by them ***
lately I added a backup option for my clients that took out a lot off space
they send me an email I that I should take off that folder till a week if not they will close my account
I tried calling them and emailing them that I need week to take this folder to another location I didn't got any respond from them
I started moving the data
they any stooped my website
I called them yesterday and I was on the phone with them for more then a hour and they said they will put back my website fro another week
and im still waiting they should put it back
I treid calling them and emailed them
thanks
I went to this website to start a web site There were only two ways to do it One was a web builder and one was a word press...there were no demos on what was involved in building each..You had to pay and get charged...and take your chances I was charged because I needed to get this website done When I started, this service was IMPOSSIBLE to use...nothing was intuitive and all of it was confusing I simply tried to make it work for a couple of hours I am an academic librarian and if I can't use it, my students can't I want a refund Simple as that
I had an account with GoDaddy for a few years and I cancelled all of my products in June 2015, turning off the auto-renew optionI tested my domain and it was deactivated at that timeIn Augof 2016, GoDaddy erroneously auto-renewed my accountI called on 10/10/to resolve thisThey say they would not refund months worth a product due to an arbitrary day cancellation periodThis is unreasonable and is a low-handed way to make moneyA reasonable refund would be 1/to 3/of the year
However, a much worse scenario resulted from my dispute with them and indicates seriously unethical business practicesSomehow the DATE of the auto-renew option on my account was changed to 10/10/at 1:pm (ET)I did not change this and in fact, I had not logged into my account since June of up until the time GoDaddy requested that I reset my password and log in at approximately pm ET on 10/10/The customer service representative at GoDaddy claimed I had changed the auto-renew setting myself at 1:pm when I had not! I was not even logged in at that timeSomeone at GoDaddy changed the date of the auto-renew option on my account to justify their charges to meGoDaddy can change their log files however they want to justify collecting funds from their customersThis is extremely unethical if not illegal
After years of being a client of GoDaddy total businesses subscribed, our companies have reached the end of the ropeGodaddy has failed over and over to provide the correct performance platform for our website, and always blaming technical outside reasons for their "overload" of sharing server environments
Two weeks ago, they offered me to switch to a new dedicated server where performance is superiorand even though the agents are always professional and well spoken, the fact is that they were moving one of the domains only, and disregarded all other companies we had online, charging me an extra premium and migration fee to move, and allowing the old server to expire and close Only when our directors and clients complaint that our websites were down is that we noticed that there was something really horrible going on During my call today, they explained that they had only moved one domain name (because that was the reason for my previous call) and assume that all other companies did not need to be online, so they close the old server as it didn't receive payment
The lack of customer service by Samuel and supervisor Steve today shows how important is to have the proper education and knowledge on handling a delicate company decision like thispenalizing customers with extra charges to reinstate their websites, after up-selling premiums for a new server that can perform better
It is obvious to us and many others I read in the Revdex.com website, that a massive operation is being manipulated by GoDaddy to up-sell services, servers and transfer feesIt is also obvious that after almost a decade of being a client, and numerous transfers of server platforms where all our business websites migrate together, Godaddy will assume that we will let our other enterprise websites just die and go offlineThat alone tells us that they are pushing to up-sell services by tricking customers without proving full disclosure
I was looking for a lower-cost option for registering my domain name., ***
I found GoDaddy online where they advertise registration for $and state that this "includes a one-year extension" :
***
So I went ahead and transfered to GoDaddy for my annual registration and then found that they said my renewal is due in monthsI disputed this with them and was told basically "tough" - that the price "is $14.99/yr so it's like paying year with year free" which is patently not true, since they will want $in 12-months time to renew
I stated that they advertised $including a one year extension and was told "I can imagine how you feelyou must be on a tight budget." , adding insult to injury
I accused them of 'bait and switch', but they basically told me there is nothing they will do
It's a scam that the Revdex.com rates this company has an A+ when they scam every customer they get their hands onIf it wasn't for the promo code that I was able to acquire a slightly less yearly cost for a domain name because I'm a cheap ***, I would never touch this horrible institution for anythingThey sell your information as soon as they get itIn fact, it's practically automated!! Sell all customer information for more greedy corporate dollars as punishment for not paying an extortion fee to privatize it! $7.99/year for privacy protection? WHAT A RIP OFF! As an insider, I know it costs them literally NOTHING to automate an email forwarding addressNOTHINGThey are making a 1000% profit on this scam, and a 100,000% profit on selling your information if you don't buy into itYou will be slammed out the *** with automated fishing scams and phone calls from their ring leaders over seasTrust me, they will lawfully rape you to the fullest extent of their ability
Despite setting domain auto renewal to OFF, company billed me for domain renewal anyway Create a convoluted billing environment where reaching a person who can review this issue is virtually impossibleThey are practically stealing from people by exploiting this flaw in their billing system
In November I inquired to Godaddy's Web Design Team on designing a custom websiteI gave other website examples of a type of calendar and specifics on the design I wished to haveThe salesman checked with the programmers and they said could do itI paid $ It still does not operate as intended, It is now July The website design was to be complete in days
Without going into all the specificsThey did a lousy job from the startI was on the phone with the design team for countless hours, and very seldom was it with a same person I had talked to before
I have sent several emails on all aspects in the lack of design specificsI did talk to several people that worked to get some of the design correctedI talked to others that said they would follow through to the endThat never happened
The biggest problem with the organization is there is not a specific person following the design flowIf you wish to talk to a supervisor, forget it, you are just tran

On April 7th of 2016, I called Godaddy to ensure our reserved domain would not expire and to purchase hosting I informed the GoDaddy representative that I knew little about websites, but that I had been warned by friends about fees GoDaddy charges to renew expiring domains and I wanted to secure our domain name and have it hosted He suggested I purchase a 5-year plan for $CAD which I did, and he assured me that there would be no additional charges or fees for anything over those years
